Session Expires on Kuler iPhone app

I installed the Kuler iPhone app on my iPod Touch and my iPad (retina display) and on both, after less than a day, when I go to the app, it has lost my login credientials - or something. Basically, my themes are not there and when I click on the My Account tab my Account name and ID are not shown and yet the Sign Our (not the Sign In) button is there. So it thinks I am still signed in but does not retain my credientials. So I have to logout and longin again, which is a pain because my password is complex.

Yes. It is not happening anymore on my iPod Touch, but when I saw your response, I re-logged in last night on my iPad and when I oppened the app just now, the next day, when the app opens, it showed my saved colors, then it showed a box turning indicating that it was updating the app I assume from the server, then all of my colors are gone. I click on My Account and there is nothing next to "Account" and my ID is there next to Adobe ID for about 1 second and then it vanishes. The Sign Out button is below and stays there as is.

Kuler iPhone app - White Balance

No way to set white-balance?
Kuler for iPhone is really a very nicely done app, but there is a fairly major issue for an app that is only about colour.
No white-balance setting. The iPhone's colours are often too blue. (Probably because Apple thinks it gives more 'punch' and they may be right, but it is not an accurate colour-wise).
As I use Kuler on the iPhone, I see that the colours on the iPhone screen are wildly too blue compared to what is in front of my eyes.
Can you please include the possibility to set Kuler's white-point (grey balance) in the next version?

I am having the same problem and took the following steps to mitigate it to no avail.
1. I deleted the Facebook app on the phone and turned off Facebook in the iPhone's system-wide settings.
2. I re-enabled Facebook in the iPhone's system-wide settings and reinstalled the Facebook app and logged in again. It worked. For about an hour.
3. I completely restored the phone to a previous backup (before the problems started) and reenabled Facebook .... reinstalled the app.... and now it works intermittenly. But it hasn't worked in about 12 hours now (just tried a few minutes ago).
Please advise.

Cannot log into Facebook app, getting session expired message

I tried logging into the Facebook app last night and got a "Session Expired, Please log in again" prompt. I have already changed my password, deactivated and reactivated my account from the Safari browser. Any ideas as to what I should do?

Another victim here. Happily started downloading iphone SDK just after purchasing my new MacBook and it always stops at 2.1 GB. And of course it is corrupted.
For those who are thinking about OS or firewalls, here are my trials:

"Apple ID cannot be used for MobileMe" when setting up Find My iPhone app

Okay, folks, spent some time with MobileMe support via chat this morning. This is what I've learned. Apparently you CANNOT use an Apple ID, regardless of what format it's in (usually a full email address) AS LONG AS IT'S ASSOCIATED WITH A MOBILE ME (ME.COM ADDRESS) ACCOUNT THAT IS CLOSED OR NO LONGER ACTIVE. Unfortunately, there is no way to disassociate the two and there is no way the old MobileMe (me.com address) account can be deleted.
Apparently, I had some issue when I was trying out the MobileMe for the trial period many months ago and for some reason couldn't use my primary Apple ID (my primary email address), so I created a me.com address for the MobileMe account. Eventually, I cancelled the MobileMe account because the cost wasn't justified for the features it offered. Unfortunately, that association with my primary Apple ID is permanent and THAT is the source of the "This Apple ID canot be used for MobileMe" error. Or at least that's ONE reason for it.
The solution? Create a completely new, separate Apple ID using a valid email address from which you can receive a verification email. The address is NOT used to receive any further emails from Apple. Only to create logon credentials. Do NOT associate this email address with your current/primary Apple ID or any other Apple ID. This is what you use to set up Find My iPhone/iPad, etc. using the MobileMe setup in Settings>Mail/Contacts/Calendars as well as the Find My iPhone App (plus it's your logon to the MobileMe Find My iPhone web page).
When you log in to the MobileMe page, BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ENTER YOUR APPLE ID IF IT'S A FULL EMAIL ADDRESS: apparently, the ID field automatically tries to change it to "[email protected]" instead of your "[email protected]". Just check it before and after you enter your Apple ID password and submit.
I did this and it works. Find My iPhone app and service works beautifully. Spotted my iPad right where I'm at on a map. I sent a message to my iPad via the service (which also offers the option to play a sound, lock the device or even wipe the device).
I hope this information helps SOMEONE.
Oh...interesting footnote: I was informed that APPLE IDs CANNOT BE DELETED. Even if you create a "test" Apple ID (like I did during our troubleshooting session) with some barely used email account using a weak password. That means, regardless of whether you use it or not for MobileMe/Find My iPhone, you really, really need to give it a SECURE password (if you're going to keep that email account alive). So yeah, there are a lot of dormant Apple IDs floating around out there!

I found this 'bug' out the other day when getting ready for my new iPhone I was setting up my iPad with some new apps too and wanted to work with Find My iPhone.
Here's the deal; my main AppleID is just a simple 'Username' not a '[email protected]' AppleID.
I've had this since the need for AppleIDs were used for these forums and the iTunes Store, AppStore, etc.
So it works fine and well with that stuff but not with find my iphone on my iPad as it wants a full email account, either a '@me.com' or a '[email protected]' AppleID which I did create but I think it was used as Job profile or something other along those lines (NOT used for a MobileMe account or .mac either).
And I only have access to one email now and I dont feel comfortable having multiple email addresses that I dont check or have no use for, call my simple or naive but thats just how it goes.
What I'd like to do is be able to use either AppleID for my Find My iPhone app and everything else.
And I think thats a good point, '@me.com's for all. make it a whole lot easier in my opinion.
merge all the apple accounts you created into a MobileMe, simplifies the situation and makes it easier connect to all Apple Services.
My itunes account, apple.com store account, appstore account, main AppleID for the past couple years it "Maxwell Stanley" but it does NOT work with Find My iPhone. So i created [email protected] (example.com is in place of my true email domain for privacy reasons) and that doesnt work as it statse it Cannot Be used.
My 'Maxwell Stanley" Apple ID's email associated with it was [email protected] i tried changing it to [email protected] but still doesnt recognize that as an AppleID even though its associated with "Maxwell Stanley".
I event ried to use the SAME email that is associated with my 2nd AppleID '[email protected]' with the appleid 'Maxwell Stanley' and no dice.
running out of options it seems.

I have been unable to log into my Actiontec MI424WR router this week, The router returns the message "No more than 1 sessions at a time are allowed. Please wait until open sessions expire." every time I try to log in. This has been going on for days. Even pulling the power to reboot it did no change. I'm the only user in the household that would log into it, so I don't understand how this could occur. How can I get in?

I really don't want to do a hard reset as I have a handful of custon port forwarding rules that I had created. I'm not a wiz at that, so it would take me too much time to re-create! I may have no choice. Next time I can get in I will try the backup of the config file. I hope it contains the port forwarding rules.
The backup function should work fine, I have used it to save my Steam port forward rules to my hard drive, after a pin hole reset I was able to restore successfully. I did configure mine to 1 session & ALWAYS logout when I am done. I have never had any problems logging into the router. But in your case you may need more than 1 session allowed.
Are you using a native or 3rd party app to remember your router ID/password? IF you are do not do this, you are "defeating" the built in security of the router

Session expiring

We are using Oracle 10g r2 and APEX 3.1. We have deployed an application that is having issues with sessions expiring and the user is being required to log back in. We are using the default Application Express Authentication Schemes. We have noticed the expiration occurs when we have a user open seperate browsers and log into the app in each one. There is no period of inactivity so it should not be a timeout of any sort. Anyone have any similar issues? Any ideas at all would be appreciated.

Browser windows must run in separate OS processes in order for one's cookies not to be shared among them. There are ways to do this in IE, not sure of a way to do this in Firefox. BTW, the sessions are not expiring, the cookie value is being supplanted.

PROBLEM USING FILTER TO KNOW SESSION EXPIRATION

Hi, i'm using a filter to know when the session expires but it appeasr not to work, so i am a bit confuse because the filter always executes well but when the session gets the timeout and the user send a request it isnt executed, the server redirects the user to the login page.
I am not sure about it, but is it possible that the reason of why the filter is not executed, is becuase i am using the apache form-authentication????

Session expired with StreamingAMFChannel

I have a flex desktop app which has only one consumer using a streaming amfChannel. So there is no producer.
After 30 minutes my channel gets disconnected, because the httpsession on the server expired. The connection was not idle, because every second 2 messages are streamed.
I also defined a heartbeatInterval on the channelset, but still the session expires.

Why is the HTTP session expiring? Is that because only messages are pushed in the direction from server to client?

This is really annoying and I can't imagine I'm the only one seeing this behaviour. I'm just doing common things with BlazeDS.

Checking for session expiration

We're using JSPs and Servlets in our application. Looking for a way in code to check if the session has expired. We will need to do this from a jsp as well as a servlet (sometimes a jsp is pointed to by a link and sometimes a servlet). Can someone point me in the right direction?

I like the idea of a session verifier. We have about 25 jsps, 15 servlets, and at least 80 components (beans) in the app. How would the verifier component work? How could we intagrate it with all the other existing components? Ideally it would be integrated with minimal modifications...

How to handle session expiration in ATG

We have a requirement wherein we have to redirect the user to a specific jsp when his session is expired. For example if a guest user is in cart page and is idle for more than 30 min he should be redirected to session expired page. We are using Apache web server and Jboss app server. Following are the ways i tried
1. In Apache/conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf, I have set ErrorDocument 409 to session expired jsp - This is failed because jsp is not a static content and only static contents will be present in webserver. If it would have been a simple html (static) then this method would have worked fine I believe.
2. In cart page I have set the sessionExpirationURL of cartformhandler to appropriate jsp, checkForValidSession to true, CheckSessionExpiration.expirationURL to same session expired jsp. I am not sure why this is not working.
Please let me know the best way to handle this situation. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When user clicks any link on your page after session expired then you can redirect him to login page through your formhandler if a handleX() method was invoked by the request or you can use a filter which can check for something like profile.isTransient(). You can then redirect to the login page from your filter keeping a parameter of the original url to be used as login success url so that after login you can again redirect to the page that user originally intended to see.
For detecting user idleness in browser, here is one of the possible approach using javascript by implementing a document level keyboard/mouse listener to detect user interaction in your page:
