Session in tab browsers

Hi friends
i have an application in which when i log in -- according to the role of user im setting some beans in Session with a fixed key name eg "key1". Because as i know every browser window will have different session so no conflict will come. But i got problem in tabbed browsing. It happens so that all tabs opened in a window share same session. so if two usersof different roles are logging into my app through different tabs but same window. Then problem comes. So could any one who encountered same prob and have a solution, help me.
Thanks in advance :-).

  • How do I manually restore a browsing session's tabs? Firefox did not reopen them after a computer freeze and shutdown.

Last night around 4 AM I was browsing in Firefox when my laptop suddenly froze. No mouse or ctl+alt+del responsiveness, nothing, just a frozen unresponsive screen, so after waiting a few moments in vain I forced a shutdown and restart with the power button. I've done this in the past without problems, but this time when I restarted my computer Firefox did not reopen my tabs automatically, or prompt me to restore the session. This is pretty alarming as I have plenty of websites tabbed and kept open permanently that I don't know if I will ever be able to find again. Can anyone give me help in manually restoring a previous session's tabs? I assume this information is stored somewhere on my computer, for Firefox's own use.

I suspect that Firefox doesn't store session history for private windows, but you could try rescuing all the sessionstore files in your currently active personal settings folder (also known as your Firefox profile folder) just in case.
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
That should take you to the critical folder. Try copying all sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files to a different location (e.g., Documents) where there's no danger of Firefox overwriting them.
If you check the timestamps, can you tell which one has the best chance of having your old windows and tabs? Open that one in a text editor. You may need to turn on text wrapping. If you can remember any text from the URL or title of the page you were viewing, try searching in the text to see whether you can find it. If not, the quest may be futile.

  • How to get last session open tabs?

My hard disk is damaged, but I can read/copy files when I install it in other computer as a secondary hard disk.
The problem happend suddenly, and now I need to recover the last session open tabs. How can I get them? Only URLs of course.
    Thanks.

I've had what I think is a related problem since the most recent software update.  I have Lion 10.7.4 and have updated to Safari 6.0.  The most noticeable difference is that where previously I had two boxes at the top of the Safari window (one to enter URL addresses, one for Google searches), there is now only one box for both functions.  I don't like that as well, but I can live with it.  However, since the most recent software update my "back button" only works about 5% of the time. Most of the time it is grayed out.  So I usually can't get back to previous pages using the back button.  Also, when I've clicked a link that opens a new window (for instance, going through the return process at Amazon, I clicked UPS locator and it opened a new window), where in the past I would have just clicked the red button after I had the information, the UPS locator window would have closed, and I would have been back at Amazon - now if I close the UPS locator window, all Safari windows close.  The Safari application doesn't close, but the Amazon window closes, I'm back to an empty screen, and I have to open a new Safari window and reenter everything.  I'm using a work-around of clicking on History and selecting the description of the window I want to get back too, but that only works part of the time. In the Amazon example, that's what I did once I had the UPS info, but even though I clicked the correct window description, it took me back to the beginning of the return process & I had to reenter all the info.  Of course, that info was easy to reenter, but if I'm in the middle of a complicated process, it's a big problem.  I've filed a bug report; I surely hope the Apple engineers are able to fix this.  I'm used to using the back button function a lot!

  • Session Tracing tab is missing.

    Dear ISA Experts,
I am using ISA 5.0.  When I goto logging in Admin, The session tracing tab is missing. Appreciate any pointers to display the session tracing tab to trace the session log.
    Thanks!

Thanks Mark for your reply. My Java core is on SP14. SAP-SHRWEB, SAP-SHRAPP & SAP-SHRJAV are on SP11 & 12. I have gone through the note : 1090753 and noticed that the following parameters are already set.
'appinfo' and 'logfiledownload' parameters to 'true'
    ForceSingleTraceFile to 'No'.
When I goto : http://hostname:50000/b2b_xyz/admin/index.jsp and logging, I see only Log configuration and not "Session Tracing". Please advice.
    Thanks!

  • Tabbed Browsers ... do you use it?

Hi. One of my favorite features of Aperture is +tabbed Browsers+. You can "{Command}{Option}click" multiple items in the Library and each click will open an additional tab in the Browser. (Other options are to open multiple Browser panes ("{Option}+click"), and to open multiple Library containers (Projects, Folders, Albums) in a single Browser ("{Command}+click").)
The usefulness of tabbed Browsing is greatly limited by its implementation: whenever you select "Projects" or "Faces" or "Places" from the top-level Library containers, all tabs are removed. There is no browsing "back" button -- one must recreate the tabbed Browsers manually.
Does anyone use this? Does anyone have a work-around? I use Projects view a lot. I would like to use tabbed browsing. Aperture prevents me from using both.
    Thanks.
Here is a screenshot of Aperture showing two Browsers each with two tabs:
Some information about multi-tab browsing and using multiple Browsers can be found on this page from the User Manual:

    Hi Kirby
Thanks for the info re Skitch, I will download it, there are times I have felt that that a screenshot would indicate a point better....
So far I like the Tabbed Browsing feature, I like the way you can jump quickly from project to project when re-organizing and keywording, and view in full screen mode if required.. saves a lot of opening and closing projects needlessly....
Admittedly it's a pain when selecting 'Projects' and it default's to no projects selected... but when keywording etc, (at the moment at least) I find it a useful feature to be able to have several projects open and to jump about freely....
I do agree that being able to use the same feature in 'Projects' would be handy.... but at the moment I am ok with it.... we'll see in a few weeks time if I feel the same... Thanks for pointing it out, I had forgotten it existed....
I certainly will use it frequently...
    Regards....... Gerry...

  • A way to always have a clean session (no tabs) everytime Firefox starts?

For my needs I must have only one tab open when firing Firefox.
I've tried the following parameters in ''about:config'':
    * browser.sessionstore.enabled = false
    * browser.sessionstore.max_concurrent_tabs = 1
    * browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes = 0
    * browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash = false
    * browser.tabs.loadInBackground = false
However, it occasionally opens two or three tabs when I start Firefox.
It is usually closed by killing the process, but that shouldn't be an issue as it's told to not store the sessions and not restoring them after a "crash".
Is there something else I should look at?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
PS: Although they aren't listed in the troubleshooting information below, the aforementioned parameters do actually display as modified in about:config.

Firefox 4 will always try to restore a session if you let it crash by killing that process because that leaves a file sessionstore.js with a running flag. Firefox 4 uses sessionstore.js to store the App Tabs and Panorama tab groups, so if you use any of those then they get lost. If Firefox is closed properly then the last session can be restored via the History menu or a button on the about:home page.
You can try to launch Firefox with one specific page by adding that URL to the command line in the desktop shortcut. I haven't tested if that works with a forced close, so you have to try that yourself to see if that works.

  • Add ability to open RDC Sessions in tabs

For the Mac version of the software, it would be great if you can open every new RDC session in a separate tab. It would make for a much cleaner look and management of the software.

  • Flash sometimes breaking session in MAC browsers

Has anyone heard of Macintosh browsers timing out
    sessions?

This is definitely not a common behavior.  Everyone I know on the team has both a Mac and Windows system and rigorous testing is performed with each platform (and different flavors of the OS).
Sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.
    HTML5 video
    Non-HTML5 video
If this does appear to be specific to Flash, please see this FAQ for details on how to open a bug report and what data we'll need.
How do I troubleshoot and report problems with Flash Player Video?

  • Restored Session, some tabs come back blank

I had about 1000 tabs open in firefox, it is no surprise that it crashes often due to this it uses alot of CPU to run. Usually once it crashes, I just press the Restore session button and everything comes back. However, this tab alot of the tabs came back empty and blank, while others come back normally, what seems to be te problem?

    Hello Mahdi
Thank you for replying to my problem. But as I have stated before, normally I press the Restore session button and all my tabs are back, so they all have reached their destination. However, for some odd reason in this weird circumstance, a lot of my tabs this time came up as New Tabs instead while the others restored normally.

  • Why at open firefox session my tabs are on an old cashed version and do not refresh automaticaly?

Why at open my firefox session tabs open as an old cashed version and do not refresh automaticaly?
I have to manually refresh each tab to get the updated website page, I am sure there is a setting as it was not doing so before but cant find that setting.
    Thanks

    # Click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' to continue to the about:config page.

BUT....the adove does not work if you use session restore to reopen tabs on your next start, you have to clear the browser cache when you close Firefox (from 3-bar button > Options > Privacy > History > Firefox will > Clear history when Firefox closes [v] > Settings > cache [v].

  • IE7 shared session across tabs problem

Hi guys. I am contributing to the development of a system that uses J2EE technologies (struts, hibernate). We have noticed a problem with the recent IE version (IE7) and tabbed browsing. An http session is shared accross the opened tabs, so if a website is accessed through different tabs of the browser, the http session is prone to concurrency issues.
e.g. a shopping cart will be shared across tabs
I dont want that. I would prefer each tab to function as a different client (or browser window). Is there any way to overcome this issue? I know struts is prone to this problem, how about other frameworks? thx in advance

No there is no easy solution in this case. Its not just a struts problem.
In fact it would affect any application using the servlet "session" scope to store attributes in.
The session is distinguished by means of a browser session cookie. This cookie is issued to the browser to retain your J2EE session id. It lasts as long as the browser does.
Maintenance of session cookies is purely the role of the browser. We can't affect it.
Basically all windows in the same process will use the same "session cookies". ie - popup windows (via links or window.open) share the same session as their parent. This is useful sometimes, and a complete pain at other times.
If you open a completely seperate IE instance/process it will get its own session cookie and thus maintain a different 'session' than the other window, but tabs all share the same session.
The only way to do this would be to NOT use cookies to maintain your J2EE session, and instead use urlEncoding to keep track of the J2EE sessionid. ie add ;jsessionid=[sessionid] onto every link (as done by response.encodeURL())
    hope this helps,

  • Multi tabbed browsers

We have a problem when running apex in multiple tabs in IE7 or Firefox. If I run our application in one tab then open another and run the application (with a different session id) then when I go back to the first tab and click on a link I get logged back out to the login screen.
I was led to believe that this was fixed in apex 3.2 but I have reproduced the problem in apex.oracle.com.
Has anyone else found this problem and even better found a solution to it?
    Thanks

    Hello,
In FF, if I login to Amazon in one tab, create another tab and go to the Amazon website, I am already logged in the new tab. And if I log out of their website in one tab, I am logged off on the other tab also.
I think that is the way it is supposed to work... you cannot have the same cookie with different values for different tabs. It seems to be true even for different browser windows.
The opposite is true, you can have many tabs sharing the same session information.
May I ask why you think this is something that should be fixed? Do you have an example of a website that works like that?

    Luis

  • How to recover last session/lost tabs on Safari 5.0.5?

Okay so I own a Macbook Air, and I always charge it no matter what, it's always charging and it always has battery. I keep open LOTS of things such as text-edit, safari w/ tabs, and pages. So today after I closed it, (didn't turn it off or anything) I came back and hour later to find it turned off, I turned it on again. And it clearly still had 27% of battery left. And ALL of my WORK was GONE!! I got so frustrated, I read there's no way I can recover lost textedit stuff if I didn't save it, I don't really mind what happened to pages. But I had important stuff in textedit I'm trying to remember and jot down now, and I also had important tabs opened in Safari. Is there any way to recover these tabs from the previous session? I read you can go to History > Reopen tabs from last session. But I don't see that option anywhere, I can't right-click on History nor does History have a drop down option.... Please help! =\ I'm very frustrated... thanks.

    well, it's meant to
"  To have TextEdit automatically save (or “autosave”) a backup of documents while you’re working, choose how often you want to autosave from the “Autosave modified documents” pop-up menu below Autosaving. If TextEdit unexpectedly quits, it opens the backup copy of your document the next time you open TextEdit. "
If you'd previously saved it, there ought to be a  filename (autosaved) file in the same folder as the saved one.
If never saved - look in
