SessMAx is exceeded then RAC fails

My RAC cluster seems to have had the load on one node go through the roof and then eventually die.
This was the first message I received:
ORA-24418: Cannot open further sessions
Some syslog messages started coming in after this and then the node in the cluster failed. What would cause the ORA-24418 error?
Thank you.

Thank you.Hello, you will have to do the follow steps:
Check the SGA parameters;+
Check the Sessions parameters;+
Check the version of your Oracle database;+
After that, you will analyze de changes for solve the problem. Follow bellow theses steps:
oradba> oerr ora 24418

// *Cause:  Sufficient number of sessions are not present in the pool to
// execute the call. No new sessions can be opened as the
// sessMax parameter supplied in OCISessionPoolCreate has been
// reached.
// *Action: Call OCISessionPoolCreate in OCI_SPOOL_REINITIALIZE mode and
// increase the value of the sessMax parameter.

Hi, I use facetime regularly with my parents who live outside US and it stopped working. Their ipad2 rings, says connecting..and then 'call failed'. Upgrading their iOS5 (or 6) is not a option as my parents do not know to do this. I came across forums where this issue is mentioned on apple support and cnet.
Is there another option apart from upgrading ?

Well, in his defense, his parents bought him the player so I guess we can't blame him. Though the 6 GB versions were available in November so I guess they really did get 'nervous' about Christmas and like to get their shopping done early! Kudo's to you for trying to remain with the Creative line but for what you're looking for it's obviously not the player for you. Creative seems to be fine-tuning their line for the audio crowd. I'm into mp3 players for the audio. Sure, the ability to watch video's and look at pictures on a decent screen is a plus but for me at least, it's all about the music. And with music, 6 GB is more than enough. Heck, 8 GB would have been more than enough for me. I'm a subscriber to Napster-to-go, so I don't feel the need to carry 00 plus GB of stuff on my portable player. I honestly don't understand the desire to watch movies or TV shows on tiny little screens. But you're also talking to a guy who doesn't watch television. What a complete waste of time and brain cells. Probably the **competitor products we can't discuss here** or one of those players would better suit your needs. Companies are definately picking their niche markets carefully and Creative's decision to not offer hard dri've players any more seems to definately be saying bye-bye to that market. I can't say I blame them. Hard dri'ves eventually give up the ghost and are quite delicate for people on the go. Good ridance, I say. Let Apple, Zune and all the others cater to the Z generation's need to be spoonfed their video/TV addictions anywhere and everywhere. I'll pass. It's one thing to be able to enjoy some music on the go and enhance an otherwise dull work day or dri've. But movies/TV shows at work, school, or wherever? Please. Cut the cord! Just my $.02 - YMMV! • I have an epson xp600 and a mac book pro. Wireless printing is OK if I'm lucky for one time only then a 'failed to connect' message so I have to delete and re add the printer to get it working again (but just once!) then the same occurs. Why?

I have an epson xp600 and a mac book pro. Wireless printing is OK if I'm lucky for one time only then a 'failed to connect' message so I have to delete and re add the printer to get it working again (but just once!) then the same occurs. Why?

I am not certain this will fix your problem but I suggest you assign the printer a static IP address.
Using the printer's front panel, select Menu > Network > WLAN > TCP/IP > Boot method, and change it to "static". Provide a static IP address that is on your LAN's subnet.
For example, if you are using an AirPort Extreme, you might give it an IP address of 10.0.1.100. If you are using a Netgear or Linksys router that defaults to issuing 192.168.x.x addresses, you might give it an address of 192.168.1.100. That way, the printer will always "reside at the same address" on your network. If your router has the ability, you should reserve that address so that the router does not attempt to assign it to another DHCP device.
Then, go to System Preferences > Print & Scan, and delete your existing printer with the "–" (minus) button. Add it again, using the "+" (plus) button. In the window that appears, select the IP pane, and from the Protocol menu select "Line Printer Daemon (LPD)". In the Address field type the IP address you gave your printer.
If all goes well the "Pring Using" field will detect the printer at that address and automatically select the appropriate driver. You will see something similar to the following screenshot ("name" can be whatever you decide, and "location" is optional):
Click Add, then you can close System Preferences.
There are other possible reasons your printer is "not responding" which could include wireless interference from competing wireless networks, but try this "static IP" method first. It should mitigate the problem.

Just tried to update iPhone 4S to 6.1 and it first of all failed to back up then it failed to update (Error 11) so i had to put it in recovery mode and restore it then it failed to restore with an unknown error starting to think its an itunes issue does anyone have any advice?

if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

  • Charged for every movie, Days to download, then some failed reason

Average of 48 hours to download, then it fails.  Not sure how much movie I have paid for movies, but I have never been able to watch the first one.

    Hi Winston,
I was having the same problem--I have an Apple wireless router.  Anyway, another user told me to completely disconnect the power to my wireless router (power cycle) to reboot it.  After that, everything has worked perfectly.
    Give it a whirl.

Hi all, i have 2 node RAC and i am trying to take rman backup of the database which is in ASM filesystem.

Then i tried to validate the backup in rman of the datafile sysaux nad fired the following query

Then dropped the table, and tried to take backup of the database and it is failing again with the same error..
ANY SOLUTION TO TAKE BACKUP OF THE DATABASE.
anyhow we can SET MAXCORRUPT FOR DATAFILE 3 to value, but does this works all time...
    Thanks in advance,

  • NVIDIA Optimus on MSI GE70 2OE: No screens, then server fails to start

    Hello,
I have recently acquired an MSI GE70 2OE-071 laptop with the following configuration, intending to run Arch Linux (dual boot with Windows 7) on it:
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4700 MQ
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M (2 GB DDR5 memory)
    LCD: 17.3" FHD 1920x1080
    Memory: 12 GB DDR3
    HDD: 1 TB 7200 RPM
I originally installed Arch Linux the same way as described in the beginner's guide. I could get the basic twm setup to work, but the moment I installed the proprietary drivers (using pacman -S nvidia, followed by nvidia-xconfig, followed by a reboot), X Windows crashed, i.e. I started getting the No screens found error. So after some days of digging, I found the NVIDIA Optimus wiki page. Following the advice here, I could get rid of this error, but I still cannot get into the GUI, because the server terminates. There is no hardware problem that I can think of because Manjaro Linux works fine, and being a perpetual Arch novice eager to learn, I just wanted to get this thing to work from the ground up.
So I'd really appreciate some help.

If I understand this correctly, then you have an Optimus graphics card (couldn't find anything online, but your lspci looks like it). I too have such a setup on my laptop. The thing to keep in mind here, is that your main graphics card is the Intel integrated card. So instead of installing your system like with an nvidia card, you install it like an intel card. Specifically, you would want to follow the instructions on Bumblebee. Once you followed them, the whole graphics part runs on the Intel card. Once you want to play a game or do some other heavy graphics card work you call your application like this:
    optirun wine /path/to/game.exe
Notice how optirun tells the system to use the nvidia card. It will take a second or two to start it (specifically, enable the card, start another X screen and launch the application on it transparently). Follow the instructions in the Wiki if you have any problems.
If you don't have an Optimus card (just NVIDIA, no Intel), then don't follow any Optimus instructions, just usual NVIDIA stuff from the Wiki.

    Hi,
You need to install the dependency package first like glibc, etc
also see the output from runcluvfy, it should show which packages need to installed

------ 2009/10/1 updated by Peter Hwang Sun 64 OWB 10201 patched to 10204
If you try to patch your OWB with 1020X and If you are running OWB in two-tier environment (OWB control center running seperately from DB server), you may want to check wb_rt_service_nodes table for its record.
    select * from wb_rt_service_nodes;
    NODE_ID INSTANCE_NUMBER HOST PORT SERVICE_NA ENABLED RUNTIME_VERSION SERVER_SIDE_HOME
    1 1 SunDB01 1521 test 1
In our environment, last two fields need to be NULL.
During 10204 OWB patch (app server binary), the process updated record and popylated 'RUNTIME_VERSION" with "Generated" and "SERVER_SIDE_HOME" with "/apps/owb" (OWB application server side Home).
Once remove the aboe two, out OWB control center is running fine.

  • Black Screen after recovery, then says failed to recover computer

I have an HP DM4t-1100 Pavilion Entertainment Laptop. This laptop uses switchable graphics, Intel HD and AMD ATI Radeon 5000. I upgraded my laptop a while back ago to Windows 8 and there were some graphical errors because HP didn't have any display drivers that supported windows 8 so I used a driver from Leshcat. A year later I accidentally updated my laptop to windows 8.1 and thats when the real problem started. I tried to reinstall Leshcat drivers and it would work momentarily but after a while my computer would crash everytime on startup. (I had to uninstall AMD Cataylst to install Leshcat drivers so that could be a reason.)
I was done trying to find a driver that supported windows 8,1 so I decided to reformat my computer using the HP Recovery disks that were given to me when I gotten my laptop. I know the recovery disks work because I reformated my computer many times using the disks when I had trouble installing windows 8 a while back ago. Now after installing all the disks and the supplement disk, the computer finshes reformating and begins to install my drivers. It shows that it's installing all the drivers and then it restarts the computer. Afterwards there's a black screen for about an hour. After an hour there is an error message saying that recovery has failed and it said I should retry. I have retried many times and it's still getting the same error.
I saved an SRD error log. Should I post it here?
Thanks so much for taking your time to read and helping everyone!

    Hello hploverkt,
I see that you're having an issue with doing a system recovery for your notebook, that you're getting an error saying it has failed. I will try to help you with this.
I'd recommend taking a look at this document: HP PCs - Troubleshooting System Recovery Problems (Windows 8). It is a long document that links to several sub documents. I'd recommend taking your time as you go through the steps to see if this can resolve the issue.
If you complete this and are still having issues. I'd recommend contacting support at that point for further assistance.

  • New os loads and then says "failed" anyone any idea what is wrong?

I go to app store, download the new OS and then it says it failed but gives no reason. Any ideas?
Computer is registered, lots of Ram and lots of strage.
    Previous OS is 10.7

There is no need to update to Mavericks to get Yosemite. https://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/
If you are upgrading to Mac OS X Yosemite(10.10), it's a common problem for several updating users as there is plenty of server traffic that's causing delays. Even I faced it too but no need to be worried. Sit back & relax & try some time later.
    All the best !
