Set a Metadata Default Preset in LR3?

I'm wondering if there is a way to set ONE "custom" preset to be the default metadata for all time - applied to every single image ever brought into LR3?
I want to use these to help © my work and leave embedded contact information in the files - but it is a big pain to have to do it manually for every time I import files - also something I don't always remember to do all the time.
I don't ever need different presets - just one main one. As it stands it comes up as "NONE". I'm stumped as to where one sets a default meta preset. Within the preset editor - the program preferences - nowhere that I can find.

But I'm not aware of any place where one can set it to a default preset - so that it requires NO adjustment/setting - and no manual attention ever again
If you set it in Import, it's remembered for future import sessions. How more much persistent than this should but be?
Every time a new catalog is made.
And it is valid for all catalogs.

On the new installation, the default is GIF and you have to manually scroll through the presets every time to apply the JPEG High preset.

How to set grayscale as default setting?

I am trying to set my printer's (Brother MFC 9450 CDN) settings in the application print dialogue to grayscale and toner save mode as default/standard values, so that I would have to explicitly turn on color printing if required.
The only way to do that which I have discovered so far would be by creating a new printing preset. But then each time I open the print dialogue again, the preset jumps back to "standard" and I have to choose the grayscale preset each time I print something.
So is there a way of either modifying the "standard" preset or choosing a new preset as default preset? Any other solution?
Any help much appreciated!

When I select on 'Print' and click on the Presets, I can select Save, Save As, Rename, or Delete.
Mine defaults to the last setting used. Although I don't have a Brother printer, it works the same way for any of the 3 printers I have installed, two USB and one wireless.
(I'm on 10.6.4 now, but I don't think that setting changed from 10.5.8, because I just updated to Snow Leopard last week.)
But just rename 'Standard' to something else, like 'Original Standard' (in case you want to get it back for some reason).
In any case, if yours always defaults to 'Standard', then rename your 'Grayscale' setting to 'Standard'
Let me know how that works.

Looking at where I would "think" it is ... where my Develop Pre-Sets are , that I created. But, I cannot find the Path on my HD to copy these and bring over to my Laptop.

LR4: Where is the BW-presets from LR3?

I have just updated to the LR4 - and misses the BW-presets from LR3. What happened to them? I think especially of the Creative - Look 1-4. I don't think that the new "Look 1-5" is the same - or is it?
Can I export the old presets into LR4?

The LR preset to which you are refering makes heavy use of Recovery, Highlight, and Brightness (among other things). Those sliders are not available in PV2012. The new presets in LR4.x use the new sliders and the new Look 5 is close.
You could export the old presets reimport them into LR4 but realize the effect relies on Sliders from PV2010 and you will revert to the Process Version and the old slider set each time you apply them.
You could probably reverse engineer the look by creating a LR3.x edit and importing it into LR4, updating the PV and then tweaking it to match. Then you could save that as a new preset.

Save standard set of metadata settings

Is there some way to save a standard set of metadata (photographer name, copyright status, website, other unchanging stuff) that I could apply to new/old sets of photos?

Metadata Menu>Edit Metadata Presets.
In the ensuing dialog box, check which items you want to include in your preset and enter the relevant information. When you are done, click Done and you will be prompted with the option to save the settings as a new preset. Enter the name you want, click Create and you are done. You can then apply that preset automatically on import, or retrospectively by selecting images in Library and then in the Metadata pane in the right-hand panel click the two small arrows in the "Preset" box (top entry below the Metadata Pane header)....the list of available presets will drop down, click on the one you want to apply.

Voicemail is a cell phone carrier function. Contact your carrier to see if they have this option. If not, i'm sure you can download a sound file from the internet with a greeting and add your name. Then play it back on you PC while holding your iPhone near the speaker when recording the greeting to voicemail.

After uninstalling nightly, I can no longer set firefox as default browser for email links and they no longer open.

When I try to change the default firefox protocols in windows, only the nightly shows and I can not unclick it. When I attempt to click on a link in an email (Windows Live) I get "Class not registered"

You can install both win32 and win64 Firefox Nightly builds on a 64-bit Windows computer. As you should know, all Firefox nightly builds are intended for testing only. If you downloaded your Firefox nightly build from http://nightly.mozilla.org/ then you got the win32 installer. It was triaged as a "Shell Integration" Firefox bug for x86_64 Windows 8.
Whether you had the 32-bit or 64-bit Firefox nightly installed, you can try reinstalling a more recent build of that, and then uninstall it again. That worked for a Windows user who had problems uninstalling Firefox Nightly x64 as reported in this thread:

I like to set iCloud as default in outlook 2013 (Windows 8.1 x64)
The big issues are the contacts and appointments.
How can I use those as default?
Is there an upgrade of iCloud software being developed, or is there a workaround I can use instead?

Unfortunately, you can't set iCloud as your default. You can, however, change the default address book in Outlook to access your iCloud contact list when addressing email, as explained here: http://www.msoutlook.info/question/262.

There have been no changes to the item default types available in HTML DB. The thread you referenced is for Oracle Portal, a separate and unrelated product.

Custom Master page set as a default on feature activation in Moss

I've a site in moss. I have created feature in my solution and on feature activation it will set the custom master page
CustomMaster.master as a default master page and on feature deactivation it will set as a default master page
default.master.
The problem I'm facing is that if I'm activation the feature at first time then it will set the CustomMaster.master as a default master page but when I'm deactivate the feature it will remove the
CustomMaster.master page and module. but when I'm again activate feature at that time it will not create mo1dule and CustomMaster.master in "_catalogs/masterpage/". So, no error was given on feature activation but
it will give error while I'm accessing my site as a "File Not Found" because
CustomMaster.master is not created.

When you are calling "RemoveCustomMasterPage" function?
Also make below change in web.config file your web application to know the problem:
1. Open up your sites web.config, and make the standard custom errors edit. You want it to be < customerrors mode="Off"/>
2. Then, search for the CallStack="false" and change it to CallStack="true", you should find this in the "<safemode>" node.
3. Find: <compilation debug="false" />, Replace with: <compilation debug="true" />

Set InDesign -- by default -- not to make hyperlinks Shared Destinations?

I have a newsletter template in ID CS4 based on a template with some standing hyperlinks to my organization's web pages.
Recently, when I created a new file based on the template, my computer started bogging down looking NOT for the web page in the hyperlink, but in the copy of the InDesign file that created it. Checked the properties in Hyperlink Options, and instead of URL, the links went to a Shared Destination (a copy of the document on a shared drive, not an Internet server). Changed the properties to link them to URLs instead, but when I opened the document again, they went back to Shared Destinations. How can I set InDesign -- by default -- not to hook hyperlinks up to Shared Destinations? (My agency was ready to upgrade me to CS6 until it became available in the Cloud only).
