Set a reply to address in Notification Email

Hi,
Is it possible to add extra tags to the configuration file on the service box to put a reply to setting on email notifications that is different than the sent from address.

Definitely not if you are using Exchange. Not that I have seen for SMTP either.
Here is a listing of all FIM config settings (that MSFT has published -- I don't know of any that aren't listed)

  • What is the "reply-to address" in the email config...

    Hi
Since I failed miserably to get gmail working via POP3 on my 6280 (apparently because this handset does not support SSL on POP3 (which gmail requires) only TCP/IP, although neither vodafone or nokia cust serv could tell me this), I have resorted to using the somewhat clunky workaround of forwarding my gmail to my email account given by my service provider (vodafone).
So, I have set this up to work through POP3 and it does (!). But when I reply to messages (that have been forwarded from gmail) the reply comes from the @vodafone.net address.
And now (ta-daaa) my question. There is a setting in the mial configurations on the 6280 called "Reply-to address". I was (probably optimistically) hoping that this would enable me to send messages with a different 'reply to' address than the vodafone account it is actually coming from.
Well, upshot is its not working, can anyone tell me what this setting is actually for? THe user guide is ambiguous fpor this field, simply stating "..the email address to which you want the replies to be sent".
(I knew I should have gone for the n70)

You don´t have to insert your e-mail adress in this field, if you don´t want to have the e-mail back to some other adress (that is the only purpose of this setting - just like in Outlook)
The views I present are my OWN and not of any organisation I may belong too.

  • How do I set a 'reply-to' address?

We've got a main email address that gets forwarded to several sub-accounts to each of our computers/devices. When someone replies to an email I've sent from iphone or ipad I want the message to go back to the main email address.  Is there a 'reply-to address' setting that I'm just not seeing?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick response Matthew, that's good to know.  I've got so much to learn about iOS.  I don't think it applies to my current situation, however.  I'll give an example:
Let's say my company email address is [email protected] (fictitious addresses for the example). There is no outgoing server from that address. From there, it gets instantly forwarded to mail accounts for all our devices, like [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc. When I send someone a message and they reply to that message, I'd like the reply to go automatically to [email protected] so that the reply shows up on all the devices.  We respond much quicker when it works that way.
All the mail programs I've used, Outlook, Gmail, etc., have a place to put a 'reply-to' address for that specific purpose but I can't find it in iOS...
    Thanks!

  • Setting a "Reply To" address

I scripted Mail to create a new message and enter all the info I want EXCEPT I can't figure out how to get it to enter the REPLY TO address. Can anyone help me?
    Here is my "test" script:
    tell application "Mail"
    activate
    set theReplyToAddress to "<[email protected]>"
set theMessage to "This is text for the body of the message."
set theSubject to "This is the Subject"
set theSendingAccount to "Me <[email protected]>"
    set theRecipient to "<[email protected]>"
set newMessage to (make new outgoing message with properties {visible:true, subject:theSubject, sender:theSendingAccount, content:theMessage})
    tell newMessage
    make new to recipient with properties {address:theRecipient}
set reply to to theReplyToAddress -- -- -- --> can't figure this out
    end tell
    end tell

I meant the field that is literally labeled "Reply To" rather than the sending "Account" name...
The field has to first be set to display in Mail, then it appears directly above the "Subject" field in an outgoing message. It's an alternative to "reply to." I need it because I want my regular "From" address to still appear (for recognition), but I don't want the recipient to be able to automatically reply to that address when they hit REPLY. I want them to instead reply to an address that will send them an auto response with special instructions. This is how I use "Reply To" -- on the few occasions I do use it.
I was very anxious to get a reply on this so I posted a similar question at another Applescripting site. On that forum, two posters said the "Reply To" field in an outgoing message cannot be set (as a property). So I was hoping there might be another way to accomplish it, like by setting the clipboard with the "reply to" address and having Applescript paste it into the "Reply To" field. But I haven't the slightest idea how to do -- if it's even possible.
    Would you have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

  • How to set default Reply-To address

    i'm using mac mail 3.6.
occasionally I get email bouncing back as undeliverable and the reply to address is not my email address.
is there a way to create a default Reply-To adress as in Entourage?

I don't know why this happened. this is some weirdness on the other end with the server that bounced your emails. but the emails did come back, right? do you have any evidence that when people reply to your emails regularly they are actually sent to wrong addresses? if not you should leave it alone. I don't believe there is anything wrong with your mail.
P.S.to test this further select any message in your sent folder and go to view menu->message->raw source. does it have any weird emails in it? because a reply will based on the address contained in the raw source of your message. if there is nothing strange there the problem is on the other end as I said.

  • Reply to address--- mailto: vs. email

I have been told by a friend that he is unable to reply to my emails to the address I write them from. He says the mails bounce back. I looked into it to see if there is anything different in the settings, and I can't see anything unique about that particular account. The only difference I noticed is the reply to address in the mails when someone responds. The account that he says bounces shows this as my reply to email address.
From: sterlingfive (mailto:[email protected]) <----in brackets

    Subject: Re: something
All of my other accounts look like this. Notice how instead of having mailto:, it shows the email address like this <email>
    From: sterlingfive <[email protected]>

    To: someone else
    Subject: Re: something
First of all why would one account have the reply to like that, but my other two accounts don't? Second, is this possibly the reason why my emails aren't coming through from him? I haven't had anyone else tell me their getting bounced messages, but that doesn't mean their not.

Just called him. He's not at computer and said it works fine from his phone. Makes me think it's something with his email, not mine. However, he replied to a message earlier and it went to the right email address with no bouncing. When I pointed that out, he said he never sent it there. He says he deleted the original reply to address and type in my other account, yet it still went to the one he deleted out. If this were anyone else, I would tell them their doing it wrong, but this guy is very tech savvy. I'm waiting to get a call back and will test some more.

  • "Reply-to" address, "Meeting Requests", Emails on ...

The main 3 features i would love to see on Nokia Messaging for Email are:
    - Reply-to address
    - Receiving Meeting Requests
    - Storing emails on memory cards intead of phone's memory
If you too would like any of these features, please write to the following email requesting them:
    [email protected]
Thank you for clicking on the Green button with the white Star for Kudos!!

Oh, I just found two possible ways in another thread but they have serious drawbacks:
    1. Change the "send new email from" address in the prefs. Unfortunately Mail won't let me create an account with my desired email address because the address I want to use has the same host and user name as my "From" address.
    2. Go into Terminal and make a permanent "Reply To" address. This method is so arcane and scary that I really don't like the idea, plus it's unchangeable.
Apple should offer an option to include an automatic "reply to" feature. If they don't, they dropped the ball on that one.

  • My hange "reply to" address on PlayBook email

On my BlackBerry phone it is possible to change the reply to address on email but I cannot find how to do it on my new playbook. Can someone help?

    Hi kellytu,
To clarify, are you using the native email application on your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ or are you using the BlackBerry® Bridge™ to send and receive email?
    Thanks.

  • Automatic "Reply to" address when sending emails?

Is there a way to automatically include an address in the "Reply to" field in all my outgoing emails, similar to the way Mail can automatically put your own address in the CC or BCC field?

  • Want to have a different Reply to Address on my emails going out...

My boss needs to send out 7 emails to different individuals (each email is different) and he wants to be able to have them reply back to a different person... is there a way to have it hardcoded in the header of the email so that when they reply it goes to the specified address.
    Thanks in advance.

Restore the iPhone as a new iPhone and then add the address book you wish
to have on it along with any other apps/media/etc that you want.

  • Setting Reply To address on Gmail

I hope this feature already exists and I just haven't been able to figure out how to do it on my phone yet.
I need the ability to set a "reply-to" address for my email account. SMTP does not work on my office mail server, so I had to create a dummy gmail account and I use the gmail SMTP server for outgoing mail. But I can't have replies going to that email address, the "reply-to" address needs to be set to my real email address. So currently, I can't send work emails from my phone.
Subject Title edited to reflect new topic.

You can set your Reply To address in your Gmail account setup.
Login via a PC and set it.
You might be able to set it on the BlackBerry as well, but if I recall correctly, it is set on the account in Gmail.

  • How do I edit my reply-to address in Mail?

Recently upgraded to Yosemite. Previously in Mail, I had my reply-to address as a different address from my primary account (I use a forwarding address from my alma mater).
I can't figure out how to do this in Yosemite.
    Any help?

    Hi KoreanIan,
You can set a reply-to address for each email individually by using the steps in this article -
Mail (Yosemite): Address an email message
    Specifically -
Set a Reply To address: Click the Header Fields button  in the toolbar of the message window, choose Reply-To Address Field, then enter the address where you want to receive replies to your message.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • How to include Reply-To addresses when reply to multiple emails

When reply to multiple email messages in Mail, I follow the instructions by Aral Balkan(http://aralbalkan.com/1136),
But the problem is, it only reply the "From" field address for multiple emails. The "To", "CC" and "Reply-To" field addresses are not included. How can I manage to reply to all Reply-To addresses for multiple email messages in Mail?

Did you ever get a reply to this question or did you manage to solve the issue in any way or shape? I am experiencing the same so eager to hear a solution.
    Thanks!

  • Permanent Reply-to Address

How do I establish a permanent reply-to address in the email header, which is automatically included in every email I send?

The closest I can think of would be to change the "Send new mail from" setting in Mail's preferences to the account you want in the reply-to field.
    To get there select:
    Mail
    Preferences
    the Composing Tab
. . . and then select the account from the drop down menu.
Unfortanetly, Mail does not seperate the from address and the Reply-to address. So, this is probably your best option.

  • Changing "reply to" address

    Hi There,
I just got the new BlackBerry Z30  and I love it.. The only thing though is that I need to change the "reply to" address  for my email address,  as it is different from the email account that was assigned.
There was an option on my 9810 that was running OS 7.1,  under the advanced features.  But I don't see this option on the Z30 running OS 10. Is this an option?
    Thanks!

That option is no longer available on the BB10 devices. You'd have to set that up on the email account itself if the account offers that option.
