Set 'Auto-join' to on in a configuration profile?

We're using ICU generated profiles to provide WPA2 (EAP-SIM) Wi-Fi login configurations to our iPhone users. This works fine except that they need to manually set 'Auto-join' to ON to ensure they always login to Wi-Fi.
As we'd like to make sure everyone is using Wi-Fi instead of 3G when on campus, is there a way to configure this in a profile or over-the-air?

The deleting apps restriction is new in iOS 6 but is available only on supervised devices. You can supervise devices and create and install a configuration profile containing this restriction using Apple Configurator.

  • Set Email signature through configuration profile

Is there a way to set the iOS email signature through a configuration profile (.mobileconfig)? If not, is there any other solution instead of copy-pasting the signature into the Mail.app prefs?

    Hi,
Automatic E mail notification can be acheived as follows
    1. First of all decide on what basis would you want to trigger the action for eg. based on status or Date profile ...
2.Make partner dependent in the action definition and put the responsible partner function.( for eg:- employee responsible)
3.Now for your action profile maintain the Schedule /Start condition (if status = in process).
This will trigger the action (partner dependent) when status is in process and the document is saved(Action Definition) .If you want the mail to go after a stipuleted time you can attach a date rule to your action and a date profile with that rule to your transaction type .
    Please reward if it helps!

  • Cannot set Proxy Auto Config in iPhone/iPad Configuration Profile

    Hi, All.
Our enterprise uses internal and external DNS, and we leverage Proxy Auto Config (PAC) files to determine how to resolve hostnames.
I can create a VPN Configuration Profile with the URL for the PAC file, so that when the VPN is enabled, it will start using the PAC file to resolve.
However, there is no such option in the WiFi Configuration Profile.
Any idea if there is a way to automate this, or if Apple intends to include this in a future version of iOS or iPCU?
    Thanks,
    David

Ooops. Sorry, I meant "10/8", not "10/24" IP range.

  • Airport auto-join 'oddness'

I have two systems at home, a Powerbook G4, and an iMac G5, both with 10.4.9 (and every update thereafter, barring the latest security patch), and both of which connect to an Airport Extreme base station (via built-in Airport cards).
Here's what's weird: the Airport network I've created (let's call it "Home") doesn't seem to come up automatically when I shutdown/restart the iMac. Home appears in the Airport menu, and what's more, I can connect to it without being prompted for the WPA passkey (mine is rather long, at 63 characters), but I always have to select it manually from the list. Not a big deal, but as far as I can tell, the settings on both machines are identical, and the Powerbook connects to the network without any problems.
Both systems have the network passkey in the system keychain, and both have Home designated as a preferred network. Furthermore, both systems are set to connect to preferred networks only. There are no other base stations/WAPs in my house, and besides, both computers are set to prompt before adding newly-discovered networks to the preferred list, so you don't have to worry about the iMac accidentally joining another network "higher on the list" without my realizing it.
As I've indicated, this isn't a life-threatening emergency by any means...but I know auto-join should always work in principle.

...do you have any further suggestions?
Check your setting on the network pref/options page and make sure that the only box selected is the one that states "Automatically add new networks . . . ." Make sure that the "Disconnect . . . when I log out" item is NOT selected.
I'm assuming you're having this problem with a secure (i.e. WEP or WPA) network. The next time you manually log on to the network, make sure you select the option to store your password in your keychain.
You can also try selecting the "Automatic" and "Preferred networks" options on the Network Pref, Airport Tab to see if the problem exists with either configuration.
One more little tidbit, if you're using WEP, when you log on to your network put a "$" as the first character of your network password. I'm not sure if this trick works with WPA, but you can try it and find out,
Hope this resolves your problem. cheers!

  • Auto-Join feature disappeared after resetting network settings

Previously the option to auto-join networks was present but not working. To try and alleviate this I decided to reset my network configs from the Settings app. Now when I look auto-join isn't an option, only Forget this network appears.
I'm on 4.3.1 if that helps. Anyone else experiencing this?

I still have 'Ask to Join Networks' on the main Wi-Fi setting screen. If you hit the blue arrow to go into a wireless network though, 'Forget this Network' at the top used to have 'Auto-Join Network' right below it.

  • Ipad Wifi settings no auto-join auto-log in

I'm at a hotel with free wifi and tech support tells me to shut off auto login on my iPad
Did it successfully last night, but now this morning neither auto join or auto log in appears.
Is there a setting somewhere that makes these visible?
    Whahappened?!

    Justdar-
Do you remember where you found "auto log in" before?  I can't find it on my iPad.
What may work, is to go to Settings-WiFi-Choose a network.  Click the blue arrow to the right of your network, if you are connected to one.  Pressing "Forget this Network" will disconnect the WiFi, and remove that WiFi router from the Known Networks auto-connect list.  You will need to do this before each session, and manually select the Wifi according to your Tech Support instructions.

  • HT4989 Auto Join my Wi-Fi profile network doesn't work

iOS Wi-Fi profiles: About Auto Join and per-connection password settings
My ios device (phone) is usually connected to my home wifi, but I set up a wifi profile for another network and selected auto join.  The profile was set up succesfully.  When I turn on the other wifi, it doesn't auto join it.  It just stays on my nomral home wifi-
Isn't that what auto join is supposed to do?  Make this profile the one to connect to when it's on/in range?
    Thanks.

    Hey remmus65,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing network connectivity issues with your MacBook Pro. I also understand that you have already attempted a significant amount of troubleshooting. I wanted to provide you with the following resource, in case it includes any steps that you have not yet tried:

  • TS1398 when i update my software to 6.1.3(10B329)to I phone 4s the wifi is not working and not auto join the network that i have already connected to

when i update my software to 6.1.3(10B329)to I phone 4s the wifi is not working and not auto join the network that i have already connected to

First, grow up.  Just because YOUR phone isn't working, doesn't mean Apple put out bad software.  I've not had any difficulty, nor has anyone else I know.  And just how is Apple risking lives with Bluetooth kits not working?  It's YOUR decision to talk on the phone or text and drive.  Not Apple's.
We're users here, volunteering our time to help others.  Posts like yours, which are whiny and ranting, simply means we're likely to ignore you and not provide you with any help.  Not to mention, it makes you look absolutely foolish.
Further making you look foolish is the fact that you haven't even asked a technical support question, nor have you provided anyone here with any troubleshooting steps you might have taken, including those recommended in the user guide.
    Good luck getting help.

  • Is it ok to set "auto shrink" ON for reportserver and reportserverTempDB database?

Is it ok to set "auto shrink" ON for the reportserver and reportserverTempDB databases?
I have read multiple 'best practice' advice articles to not se 'auto shrink' to true, and I understand the potential issue with index fragmentation, but I percieve this advice is for user created application databases and not for the ReportServer and
    reportserverTempDB databases.

    Hello Tom,
Could you put it on - sure. Should you put it on - (My personal opinion is) never.
There is more to it than just fragmenting indexes.
About every half an hour or so the internal information kept about the database will be used to figure out if it should and can shrink and to about what size. This might be great for overnight when no one is using it, but the first time new extents are needed
(since it just shrunk very small from no/light usage of reporting services) all requests will be halted until the data and log files grow. Basically you'll create a cycle of start->grow->stop->shrink->grow->shrink->grow->ad nausea. If
you don't want to waste the resources of constantly growing and shrinking (plus all of the stopping when it happens) then don't enable it. If you don't care or it's not a big deal, go ahead and enable it but I'm not quite sure why a few MB would make a big
    difference?
The reporting server databases are still "user" databases, they are not special system databases.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi
If you want to check the Manual posting blocks you can configure them through FI/CO. Once you have configured the blocks with reasons it will automatically block for the payments.
goto        SPRO-> Financial accounting->Account receivable & Payable ->Business Transactions-> Out going Payments-> Manual outgoing Payments-> Check payment block reason.

  • How to set auto delete option for old messages

    Hi All,
Can any one help me on how to set auto delete option for mails older than 15 days from my Z10.
    James Kurian

There is no such option in BB 10.
However, you can achieve a similar result by setting your email sync timeframe to 14 days (the closest option).
If you are using an ActiveSync account (such as Hotmail, Outlook.com), go to Settings > Accounts > select the account. Tap advanced at the bottom of the screen. Scroll to the very bottom, tap Sync Timeframe and set to 14 days.
If you are using an IMAP account (such as Gmail or GMX), you will have to delete, then re-add your account.  The Sync Time frame is only avaialble during setup for these accounts.  When adding, tap advanced at the bottom of the screen and set the Sync Timeframe.
    Hope this helps.

  • Wi-Fi doesn't give Auto-Join or Forget Network options

Is this normal for iOS 5.1? If I go out of range or turn my WiFi off, and then come in range/turn wifi on, it won't autoconnect and I have to re-input the password. When I hit the blue arrow next to the connected network, it doesn't give me a Forget Network button or and Auto-Join switch. This is really annoying and I've restored/reset Network options plenty of times to no avail.

    Possibly found a solution...
I unplugged the router for a few seconds (I've tried this before) and then plugged it back in. Then I reset my network settings on the iPod. Then I manually logged into my network via the "Join Other Network" option in WiFi. I still don't have an "Auto-Join" Switch, but I have the Forget This Network button and when I turned WiFi off then on again, it reconnected automatically.

Does anyone know how or if it's possible to set the auto accept state for a user?
Using calendarservermanageprincipals you can do it for locations for example and you can --get-auto-schedule for a user, but when you try to --set-auto-schedule for a user it says it's not allowed. Anyone know of a workaround or if it's possible?
    --sysdev

Nevermind, figured it out. you can manually edit the database these values are set in. /CalendarServer/Data/resourceinfo.sqlite
