Set Availability Check to Exclude Planned Order

Hi All,
anyone know how to set the availability check so it will not include the planned order in the calculation ?
I find one setting in SPRO, the path is :
Sales & distribution ==>  Basic functions ==> availability check and Transfer of Requirements ==> Availability Check  ==> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning ==> Carry Out Control for Availability Check
select one of the record, and update filed "Incl. Planned Orders".
I've uncheck that field, but I can't get the appropriate result. When I create a new sales order, the availability check still take the planned order I created before into account.
The problem is, my user want to prevent creating delivery before the goods are already put in the stock. So the planned order should not be considered in the availblity check.
Thank you in advance
Rudy

Hi Rudy,
Concept of availability check is to verify if the stock is available at the time of creation of sales order. If available, when it can be ready for delivery (as Packing, arranging for transportation, etc may have lead time) & if not available, when it would be available considering Packing, arranging for transportation, etc lead time.
Availability check whether material is available on required delivery date (backward scheduling) or not. If not available on required delivery date, system will propose next available date (forward scheduling)
1.     Define Checking Groups
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Define Checking Groups
You define checking groups with which you specify the type of requirements records the system is to create when processing sales orders or deliveries
2. Define Material Block for Other Users
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Define Material Block for Other Users.
3 .Define Checking Groups Default Value
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Define Checking Groups Default Value.
4. Carry out Control for Availability Check
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Carry Out Control for Availability Check.
5. Define Procedure by Requirements Class
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Define Procedure by Requirements Class.
6. Define Procedure for Each Schedule Line Category
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Define Procedure for Each Schedule Line Category.
7. Determine Procedure for Each Delivery Item Category
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Determine Procedure for Each Delivery Item Category.
8. Checking Rule for Updating Backorders
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Checking Rule for Updating Backorders.
9. Define Default Settings
Menu Path: SPRO>SD>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements> Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning>Define Default Settings.
Availability checks
1. Availability check is an integral part of the business process that determines if the required delivery quantity can be met on a required delivery date. For this purpose the system takes into account pre-delivery activities such as scheduling for picking or packing times and the time taken to produce or obtain the material. It also performs several background functions such as Backorder processing, rescheduling and ATP quantities.
2. Backorder processing: processing of a sales order that has not been fully confirmed or not confirmed at a certain delivery date.
3. Rescheduling: is a proposal of how – confirmed quantities already assigned to a sales order can be reassigned to other sales orders that have a higher priority.
4. Available to promise (ATP): is a process of checking the available quantities of a material. The ATP quantity consists of warehouse stock + planned receipts (incoming stock) – planned issues (outgoing stock). to examine stock on hand (CO09) proceed to logistics – sales & distribution – sales – environment – availability overview.
5. Replenishment lead time (RLT): is the time taken for the material to become available either internally (in house production) or externally (from a vendor). The most important things to consider during an external procurement are purchasing and MRP 2 (procurement) views of MMR where the processing time for purchasing, planned delivery time and goods receipt processing time are taken into account. On the other hand internal procurement is based on in house production time (MRP 2 view) goods receipt processing time or alternatively RLT time, which is found on MRP 3 view.
6. RLT (Replenishment Lead Time) is the time taken for the material to become available. RLT is only used when doing an ATP check (Available To Promise). The value of RLT for a material is specified on material master record.
7. There are three types of availability checks –
Check on basis of ATP quantities.
Check against product allocation.
Check against planning.
Configuring Availability check through Checking Groups –
1. The checking group + checking rule determine how the availability check is to be performed.
2. The checking group determines whether and how the system checks the stock availability and generates requirements for material planning. The checking group defines what type of requirements will be passed on i.e. summarized requirements (daily/weekly) or individual requirements for each sales order.
3. The checking rule applies to how the availability check is to be carried out at the transaction level. Note that you must define checking rules for each individual application such as for production orders for example. In Sales and Distribution, the checking rule is specified internally within the system and cannot be changed.
4. The checking rule, in conjunction with the checking group, determines the scope of the availability check for every business operation; that is, which stocks, receipts and issues are to be included in the availability check and whether the check is to be carried out with or without the replenishment lead time.
5. Briefly explaining the above – checking group determines which type of requirement to be passed on to MRP whether it be individual or summarized and checking rule which is at the transaction level and can be configured independently for each application module, determines which stocks, receipts and issues to be taken into account. For performing an availability check checking group has to work in conjunction with checking rule.
6. Advantages of individual processing over summarized processing –
Backorder processing is possible.
You can access (MD04) order, line and schedule line individually which gives a greater control on available stock and requirements placed on stock.
The system automatically uses individual requirements in case of special stock items.
7. Required data for the Availability check to be carried out –
The Availability check must be switched on at the requirement class level.
The Availability check must be set at the schedule line level.
A requirements type must exist by which the requirements class can be found.
A plant must be defined in the sales order for each schedule line item (in other words plant must be defined for every material in MMR).
A checking group must be defined in the material master record in the MRP3 screen in the availability check field.
8. Configuring Availability check and defining Checking Groups –
Checking groups are introduced into the sales order based on the setting in the material master record.
SAP standard checking groups are 01 – summarized requirements and 02 – individual requirements or you can create your own by copying the standard ones.
Total sales and total deliveries columns are there to configure a checking rule to sum up requirements to post to MRP either individually or by day or week.
Block quantity required can be set if you want several users to be able to process the material simultaneously in different transactions without blocking each other.
The no check indicator is CHECKED when you DO NOT want the system to carry out ATP check.
9. Defining material block for other users – the block check box is an indicator that enables you to block material master records of a particular material during the availability check and restrict other users from accessing same master record and reserve the material. If the block is not set, two users can confirm the same material at the same time for two different orders, not knowing if the stock is available or not. If you select this field, the material is blocked during the availability check and other users cannot: a) Make changes in the material master record. b) Create purchase orders for the material. C) Create orders for the material.
10. Defining default values for checking groups - Checking groups are introduced into the sales order based on the setting in the material master record.
However if there is no entry present in the material master record for the checking group, a default value can be set here, depending on material type and plant.
This default value will be used by the system depending on the material type mentioned in MMR and plant in sales order.
If an entry exists, this default value is over written by MMR.
11. Controlling Availability Check – in this section, you tell the system what stock on hand and what inward and outward movements of stock it must take into account when performing the availability check in addition to whether or not to consider the replenishment lead time.
12. These settings are based on the checking group that is assigned to the material master record and the checking rule that is predefined and assigned to the sales and distribution transaction.
13. These settings carry out control both for sales order and delivery as well. This is due to the fact that you may want to include specific stock or incoming stock for the sales order, yet at the time of the delivery only include physical stock on hand waiting to be shipped.
14. It is possible to indicate to the system that you would like the availability check NOT TO CHECK the stock at the storage location level. This indicator is used to set the scope of the availability check.
15. It is used to switch off the check at storage location level. You create a reservation for a particular storage location. However, the scope of the availability check is set in such a way as to exclude the storage location. In this case, the system carries out the check at plant level only and does not take the storage location into account that is specified in the reservation.
16. Should you not want the system to automatically check RLT, you may indicate so here. RLT is the time taken for a material to become available. It is only used when doing an ATP check and is taken from MMR.
17. Defining the elements in the availability check entirely depends on the business needs, but a few tips are given under –
When controlling the Availability check at the time of the sales order, a purchase requisition does not necessarily indicate by it is going to come into the plant.
A shipping notification on the other hand - a confirmed purchase order – is a good indicator of receiving stock on a specified date.
It is always recommended not to select the shipping notifications for the delivery requirements type as you may not actually receive the stock into plant or warehouse for which you are creating a delivery.

As of SAP ECC 6.0, SAP_APPL 600, you can define in Customizing how the system reacts if the desired
quantity cannot be confirmed for the desired date/time.
You have a choice of two settings:
    - Confirmation as per desired date/time
This is the standard setting and corresponds to previous system behavior.
    - Delivery proposal
    - Full confirmation
    Effects on Customizing
You make the settings in the Rule for Adoption of ATP Results in Purchasing field in Customizing for
Purchasing under Purchase Order -> Set Up Stock Transport Order -> Assign Delivery Type and
    Checking Rule.

  • How to make material availability check work during Work Order creation

    Hi Experts,
    Kindly advice about these matters:
    1. How to make material availability check work during Work Order creation?
My requirement is Work Order can not be created when it has missing parts. I have set the config to '3' can not created when is has missing parts, but it still does not work.
I have implemented SAP Notes 1148139 on my system (SAP ECC 6 Ehp 5) also, but still does not have any effect.
I must not set the config Res./Purch Doc creation to 'immediately', because it does not fit to my user requirement. Is there anyone knows how to solve this requirement?
    2. How to make information message/ Availability check screen appear when sparepart is missing, without clicking Availability Check button? for example: appear when clicking Save button.
    Thank you

  • ATP-check - check completely confirmed planned orders

    Hi everyone,
I just stumbled over sth. during checking the ATP-settings in my system.
In OVZ9, when double-clicking on any of the combinations of checking-group and checking-rule, in the lower part of the righthand-side, I got the option to include planned orders as well. Now, if I open up my options, I find 4 of them:
    - empty: Do not check
    - A: check firmed planned orders only
    - B: check completely confirmed planned orders
    - C: check all planned orders
So... can anybody tell me what's the story with completely confirmed planned orders? I know what it means to firm planned orders and I know how to do it, but what's the point with that?
    Any help greatly appreciated!
    Regards... Bobby

    Hi,
There was a bug in the standard program.
SAP create a new SAP Note '1616590' for the above correction.
    Thank You.

  • Availability check Problem in sales order according MRP sterategy

    hi,
We are using strategy 56 for configurable final product and strategy 65
for its variants.Requirement type is "ELV V". According this requirement type,
it is not possible to confirm availability check and then deliver the
sales order. We tried to mark availability check for requirement type ELV V in OVZG Tcode, but the
following error came up: "Check against plan material can only be carried
out w/o avail.check". Is there any setting to handle this problem to work
with strategies 56 and 65? Is it some configuration that we forgot?
    Thanks,

Yes, We have maintained planned del. time. and other fields also,
My problem is that, To make assembly of material A we have two component material B and C.
in the sales order of material A, system should check availability of component material B and C.

  • Setting nedded for creation of Planned Order for Dependent Requirement.

    Hi PP Gurus,
I have a one material for which I m running MRP which have three Components.
I m using strategy 10 for FG and SFG also.
When I m running MRP for FG the system is creation planned order for FG, but not for SFG even though no stock available for them.
I m using lot size EX for all SFG.
    Please Help.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Dear ,
You should maintain proper MRP related parameters for both FG and SFG.Check all the MMR parameters :
    1.MRP Type -PD for FG/SFG
    2.Procurement Type -E  for FG/SFG
    3.Planning Startegy -10  in FG
    4.BOM/Routing Explosion -Keep it Blank
5.Indiviaul/Collective Indicator -not applicable as it is MTS  so keep it blank
6.Validity of BOM /Routing should be corrcet before MRP run in MD02-NETCH , 2,1,3,3,2
7.What is the Lot Sizing Set up-EX in OMI4-Scheduling Tab -Requirement date =Delievery Date and BOM Validity Date  .
Ref .Re: MRP not plalned for dependent components
8.Check in MRP4 -MRP Dept Requirement Parametre should be balnk for plalling the SFG  in MMR of FG -MM02
I hope this issue may be with BOM explosion as per the validity and lot size -schedueling set up .
    Hope this will be useful

  • Disable Availability Check Based on Sales Order Type

    Hi All SD experts,
Usually ( correct me if i'm wrong ) availability check is set via schedule lines item type. Is there any way that I can disable the availability check based solely on Sales Order Type ? Meaning no matter what item category or schedule lines assigned to materials, availability check will still be disable.
Besides setting in schedule lines type, what are others config that might trigger availability check ? MRP settings ? Movement type ?
Any valuable feedback will be great and much appreciated. A big thank you in advance.
    Warmest Regards,
    Edie

    HI EDIE
In order for the availability check to happen, the following configuration settings are required.
    Availability check:
         a) you have to define requirement class & requirement type.
         b) you have to activate at scheduline category level
         c) in deleviry item.cat ,there is availability check off field,,,,, if  u dont mention any values here, then system checks for availability.if u mention 'x' here, then system dont check for availability.
        d) you define checking group and checking rule ,these determine how availability check is going to be performed
    MRP:
MRP determines how material is planned, whether it is inhouse production or external procurement.MRP also determines the time taken for the material to become available for ready use. When ever an order is rised, the requirement is passed to MRP through  transfer of requirements(TOR), here MRP determines the inhouse production time or external procurement time.
Movement Type: Movement type determines the type of material movement ,whether it is Goods Issue ,,, or ,, Goods Recipt,,,,, stock transfer between two plants etc.Movement type is determined in schedule line category level.
Award points if it is useful

  • Availability check in make to order

    Hi,
Iam in the process of configuring sales order process for one of my  finnish customer. The scenario is make to order. Few things are troubling me. I need to know how is the availablity check is done in case of make to order scenario. questions are as follows-
    a) The stock is not available since it will be made as and when  sales order is created and requirements t/f to PP/MM. So there is no point in switching on availability check in sales order. Only TOR shud be switched on for sales order schedule line. If availibility check is switched off , then there will be no delivery/transport scheduling too or I think i need to switch off delivery/transport shceduling seprarately too since there is no point in calculation of material availability date............ Am i right ?
If you disagree, then why AC needs to be swithced on and what ATP settings shud be flagged( i mean sales requirments, opening stock, planned stock etc) !
    b) If  you agree that AC needs to be switched off, then how is the stock confirmed in sales order. Is it after production order is   made and then the schedule lines are confirmed.
    c) If one agrees on both points a and b, then if my customer wants  a delivery date after creating a sales order, then how the system will calculate the delivery date in sales order since availibility check and delivery schdeuling both are switched off.
    regds

    Hi,
If you carry out ATP in MTO,
system will give you probable date of material available date, confirm date, schedule date,
it will not confirm material immediately and give schedule line as like STO.

  • Availability check problem in sales order

    Hi All,
We have one material which is assembled by using two components (BOM).
During avaiability check in sales order system should check components stock available in Stores.
    · If there is sufficient stock of the component materials is available, the availability check should report a fixed number of days to make assembly,
    · If there is insufficient stock of the component materials,  the availability check should report the longest lead time for the material which is short + fixed number of days to assembly.
    Please help

  • Customizing Availability Check in the sales order; EXIT_SAPLATPC_001, etc..

    Dear All.
Looking for a way to automatically control what's chosen in the sales order Availability Dialog box depending upon certain conditions.
This is the "Rule for transferring the results of the availability check", field TVTA-REVFP.
The default is blank, which lets the user select what they want.  Under certain conditions though we do not want to display the dialog box, and just have the system automatically select "A" which is what's available on the requested date.
Mainly I've been trying to find what REVFP translates to in USEREXIT_AVAILABILITY_IN, and EXIT_SAPLATPC_001.
We've reviewing P_ATPCSX-RESMD, in EXIT_SAPLATPC_001.  And trying to set it to "A" in debug with no luck.
Possibly this is too late or too early in process, or the wrong field.
Has anyone done anything like this before or have any ideas on how to approach?
    Many Thanks!

    hey kharthik,
i got the same requirement. hv u got the solution for this ..if so please provide me..

  • Make to order availability check scenario with production order

We have a make-to order scenario where we build custom products for our customers.
In SAP, we specify a strategy group so a production order is automatically generated when an sales order item is entered. However, we sometimes create a small amount of stock, in anticipation of an order. I would like the system to first check available stock in the system, beofre proposing a production order.
Is something like thi spossible thru configuration of the strategy group, or perhaps another method?
    Regards
    Ken

    Hi,
In SPRO->Sales and Distribution->Basic Functions->Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements->Availability Check->Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning->Carry Out Control For Availability Check
Select the Availability check and the Checking rule  combination of intrest and if you select the details, here you define that stocks that are to be considered during availability check.

  • Auto Material & Capacity Availability check when releasing Production Order

    Dear Experts,
Is there any configuration in Production Planning that will automatically check material availability and capacity availability automatically when a Production Order is released?
Meaning to say, users will not need to manually click on the Check Material Availability and Check Capacity Availability button.
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I've solved the problem. Just maintain the config in transaction OPJK.

  • Changing Availability Checking Group in Sales Order.

    Hello Gurus:
We changed the checking group in the material master.  The existing sales orders still shows the earlier checking group.  So how to change the checking group in existing sales order also (after it is changed in material master).  Also, once the checking group in sales order is changed, how to de-commit and re-commit material as per the new checking group.  Thanks.
    - Chetan

    Chetan,
As you have changed Checking Group in MMR later on all ur availability check etc will be calculated as per previous MMR settings..
Still go to OVZ9...See if your sales order has correct Check rule/Group..
Then Go to sales order Carry out availability check again...See if Avalability Overview has changes as per your new Check Rule..
    Also Do Some R & D...
Like test with change in quantity of line items...save and carry out avalability check gain..See if schedule line dates in Sales order Is there any change?
See if any change is there...
If not better create new  sales order...it will minimise your efforts and will be quicker way..
REWARD IF U FINDS THIS AS USEFUL...

  • How to change Availability check (MTVFP) in sales order

    Hi,
is it possible to change the Availability check on an material in an sales order?
Some material have the value KP (no check) of Availability check in table MARC.
If we use this material in sales orders somtimes we want change the Availability check
from KP to 01 (Daily requirements). Is this possible or have i first change the material
before i use it in sales order.
    Thanks.
    regards, dieter

Its pre-define in material master, how particular will be treated in respective sales organization / Plant /
So its always in material master , you cant change availability check n sales order.
Once order is created, after that checkin group changed in material master, will be effective for future orders only. not effective in existing / old orders.
