Set default BCC in iCloud mail?

Is there a way to auto-fill BCC in iCloud mail?
I would like all mail that I send from iCloud to be BCC'd to another address, but I don't want to have to insert the address manually every time I compose a message.
I need this mostly on iOS mail, but would also like it on Mac and web (iCloud.com).

Hey, pvonk & ebouy...
I think this solves the matter I've been researching, but I'm not positive.  Perhaps y'all can clarify for me...
I know how to insert a script into OS X to automatically generate a BCC for every email that originates via Apple Mail; that works great, and I can have copies of all outbound emails sent to whatever email address I choose.
Now that I'm (finally) adding iPhones to the mix, I want to do the same thing.  I.e., I want to tell either iOS or the mail client on the iPhone (v5, in case it matters) to automatically send a BCC for every mail that originates from the iPhone, and I want that BCC to be directed to whatever address I choose.
If I'm reading this string correctly, I need to make two settings:
1) Go to Settings > Mail > Contacts and find the "Default Address."  Here, enter the email address to which I want the BCCs sent.
2) Go back to Settings > Mail and turn "On" the choice to "Always BCC Myself."
If I'm right about that, here's my question:
When I send mail from that device, is the "Reply-To" setting the mail address from which I originated the message or is it the "Default Address" that I named in Step 1 above?
Thanks!

  • Set default "from" field in Mail per account?

Is there any way I can set the default "from" field in Mail based on the account I'm sending from?
I have two accounts defined: work and personal. Each account has 2 email addresses associated with it (as a comma-separated list in the "Email Address" field under "Account Information"). Let's call the email addresses work-A, work-B, personal-A, personal-B.
In the Composing prefs I can either select ONE default email address to send ALL mail from, or I can select to send from "Account of Last Viewed Mailbox", in which case Mail will choose a work email address if I'm in a work mailbox and a personal email address if I'm in a personal mailbox.
That second option is great, except I can't control which work email address it chooses - A or B. Changing the order of the email addresses in the Account Information->Email Address field has no effect - it consistently chooses the "wrong" one :-/
Any way I can use "Account of Last Viewed Mailbox" and still set a default mail address per account?

Since my last post, I found tried putting
Preferences->Accounts->Email address to be my edu address
would add my .edu address as one of my from choices
Next, I sent myself a mail message, with following result:
The .edu address is now rejected by the outgoing server with the message:
Cannot send message using the server
The sender address (my .edu address) was rejected by the server
I had this working at some time, but not now. Help, please.

Also want to set up a signature with the name in one color and address and contact info a different color. I went into mail>preferences>signatures and was able to change font on different lines of signature ... but when I tried to apply colors, it didn't work

that's not possible. you'll have to do it for every message individually.

that's possible. while editing a signature go to Format menu->show fonts. in the popup click on T with a green rectangle next to it. that's the button for font color. you'll get yet another popup for color. highlight some text in the signature and click on the color you want.

  • HT201342 Setting up IMAP for iCloud mail & gmail in Mozilla - Help

On first setting up up Mozilla I successfully included iCloud and gMail.  Something happened and it lost them. The only crash I have had on here since new, over a year ago.  I am running Mozilla in Windows 7 Ultimate.
It will not set the iCloud or gmail accounts up again. Perhaps I guessed the settings correctly the first time round.  So, next time I will make a note.
Can anyone please give me the IMAP settings for both to enter into Mozilla's creat an account?
    Thanks!

Took some time, so I have answerred my own query, but others may benefit!

  • Setting Default Email address in Mail client

    All,
With using .Mac accounting, I could only use [email protected] for sending email. However, what/how could I do if I want to set my email address to another one?
    Thanks,
    Kenny

    Hi Kenny!
Do you only see one account there? Only the .mac one? Hmmm...what about if you click on your Accounts tab? How many accounts are there in the left window pane? And assuming you have two accounts there if you click on the account and then click on the Advanced tab in the main portion of the window is the box selected that says enable this account?
What I'm getting at is if you have two accounts that are enabled you should be able to select which one you want to send your mail from. The only thing I can think of that makes sense is if this other account is not enabled?
    Let me know...Reg

In iCloud on my PC, I get the message "icloud Mail is not set up in Outlook".  Under the message is another message I can click on "Set up [email protected] in Outlook" where myname is the first part of the email i am using in Outlook ([email protected]). I have "Contacts, Calendars, & Tasks with Outlook" checked.  I click on the "Set up..." message and then I get "Setting Up..." with a spinning wheel next to "Contacts, Calendars, & Tasks with Outlook",  The "Setting Up..." has been there overnight, so I think something is wrong.
    Any help would be great.

    1. Open Mail.

Here are two steps that have come in handy in related situations
    1) login to gmail on your computer or device via a web browser
    2) once logged in successfully, go to this URL to unlock:

The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...
This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server, or a server end problem.
Or duplicate entries in Keychain Access.
If using a browser to login via WebMail works it's not Name or Password, but one of the other ones.
    The receiving email ports are:
    IMAP is port 143
    IMAP-SSL is port 993
    POP is port 110
    POP-SSL is port 995
    Outgoing ports are...
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.

  • I set my gmail to forward to iCloud mail will it send mail

I set my gmail to forward to iCloud mail.  Is it possible so that responses to email will automatically respond with my gmail address as the sender or will it default to iCloud?  Thanks

    Hello there dinadinadina,
It sounds like you have modified the password settings for your Gmail account after changing the password. Thats where I would have started too. Next I would restart the device and test it one more time, and then remove and add the account again in Settings:
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

sure pretty simple.  make a backup of your current settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US
then restore device from old backup you need pics off of
    then import pics to computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
you may need to save pics to camera roll first
then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

  • Unable to set the default sending account in Mail?

I have three IMAP accounts set up in Mail and when I want to send an outgoing email can easily use the drop down to pick which account is used. The issue is I'd like to specify which of the three is used by default.  I've searched on how to do this and the supposed answers are not working for me.
First, in Mail preferences, it's been posted you can drag the order of the accounts. That does not work for me at all, they are not draggable.
Second, in System Preferences there's been some talk of setting defaults in the Mail, Contacts & Calendars panel. When I try to access one of the accounts there it asks me for the password, I enter the correct one, and it fails saying unable to verify the password.
Can this be done at all? Is there a bug in System Preferences?
    Thanks in advance!

    Spinland,
Try this and see if it helps you....
this  was posted by victoryhat in another discussion on Lion. This is what I have done and it worked for me.

I am setting up ipads for use in an elementary, and I would like the "home screen" to be the apps, rather than the default with the chat, mail, etc icons.  how do I change that?

Depending on exactly what you want to do, there are a couple of ways of handling this. You may want to access teh user guide for some ideas: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf
In particular, check the sections on Customizing iPad and Settings > Restrictions.
