Set location in Reminders by tap
Reminders.app allows to notify on location (arriving or leaving). But when location sets it cannot be selected by tap on the map. Only by writing address via search field.
Is there app restriction or my iPhone fault?
is 'location services' turned on? specifically for the reminders app?
thats all i got.. if so; maybe restore, and reinstall ios5

How do you set location based reminders with location restrictions turned on?
I can set location based reminders with location restrictions turned off, but I want them on. Otherwise if I lost or if somebody stole my iPhone they could just turn off the find my iPhone function. Yet if I have location services restricted to prevent this then location based reminders are unavailable. Any help would be appreciated

TS4079 problems with siri using location based reminders
When i tell siri to remind me to stop by the store when i leave work today i get a error message. The message states my calendar service does not allow me to set location based reminders. I thought this was something that siri does. Any help fixing this problem is greatlhy appreciated.
I had the same problem, after reseting the phone and restoring, it worked for a while. The root of the problem stems from using and Exchange mail account. The reminders are set to exchange tasks and it won't work for location-based reminders. The solution can be found at this link:

Does the 3gs support Location based reminders?
The reminders app doesn't have the option to remind by location. I am Wondering if this was a feature purposely left off of the 3gs or if they are planning to include support in a future update.
User manual states the following:
About location reminders
Location reminders are available only on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, and may not be available in all areas. Also, you cannot set locations for reminders in Microsoft Exchange accounts.

Get Siri to set location reminders (using multiple reminder lists)
I found a way to get Siri to set location reminders using multiple reminder lists (but you can just use one list too):
First make additional lists in the reminder app: click list button (the lines on the left) > edit > create new list > done. Make as many as you want. I have grocery, home, personal, business, family.
Let's say you want a reminder to pick up apples when you get to the apple store. You must add the location in your contacts to your name in contacts.
Do the following:
In maps app find the location with search.
Tap the blue arrow > Add to contacts > Add to existing contact
Choose your name in contacts. It will be added under your address for home or work so you will need to edit it:
Click Edit.
Click on the small label on the left of the new address - it will just say "address"
Scroll to bottom of page and click on Create custom label
Enter the location name like "Apple Store". Click Done.
Important Note: You will need to delete the url it adds under your home url section and maybe other things it messes up with the new contact info instead of yours - so check all the fields each time you do this.
To make a location based reminder using a specific list you must open that list yourself - Siri will not open it for you.
Example:
Open grocery list yourself in the reminders app
Tell Siri something like: "remind me to pick up apples" (Do not mention the location yet - if you do it will not work)
Siri will ask: "When should I remind you?"
Say: "When I get to the apple store"
Siri will say she will remind you and you will see the location reminder in the grocery list.
This is how it works for me but if you know an easier way let me know! This is beta so I'm sure it will get easier.I have one thing to add. You don't have to open the list manually. Tell Siri: "Add to my <listname> list". For example, if you have a list named "Work", tell Siri: "Add to my work list". Siri will reply, "What should I add to your 'Personal' list?
and you can continue from there.
There is a syntax for doing all this in one sentence, but I find it only works about half the time. Too many fields for Siri to parse in her current Beta stage

"Your calendar service, which keeps track of your reminders, doesn't allow location-based reminders"
How do i fix this? my reminders location is on, but still cant do it....Solution.
Since the change from google maps to apple maps. It is now necessary to go to your details in contacts, select your home address, maps appear now select by tapping on a road next to your home, a new pin appears saying dropped pin, click the arrow then add to contacts, add to existing, select yourself, then edit, delete the old home address then change the new one to read home. Do for other stored addresses. Works just fine now with siri -
since the Maps app elsewhere but it the US just doesn't work; by that I mean it doesn't find any addresses at all, I figured I had to pinpoint my home location in the map, and add it as is to my own contact as my home address.
By doing this, I wanted the reminders app to KNOW where my home was in order to set geo referenced reminders such as "remind me to call XXX when arriving home".
well, I am just puzzled that it goes all the way to somewhere in Spain where there is a street named PERU, which is my home country. Yes, I have made sure that in my contact, the country name IS actually Peru, as set automatically by the maps app.
Can anyone sort an idea or a solution to this annoying malfunction?Go to Settings - then Mail, Contacts, Calendar - then scroll down near bottom and find "My Info" and press right > and pick your name within the Contact list ... Verify that the label for your home address
says "Home" not "Work"
If the label is wrong that will also be wrong in Reminders....if so, edit your Contact address and change the label!
Once you complete any editing, select your Contact and it will change "My Info" and your Reminder Home address will be correct. -
Location based reminders not working in IOS8 on iphone 5s, please help?
Location based reminders are not working when using Siri since upgrading to IOS8. Asking Siri to "remind me when I get home" also turns off reminders in Location Services. Please help
I have the same issue with Siri turning off the location setting for reminders. In fact my location based reminders do not work at all. IPhone 5s, ios 8.1, upgraded to 8.1.1 and that did not fix these issues.
SEems like Apple does not test the location setting every other upgrade to iOS. They break it, then fix it then break it etc... -
Setting locations with your iPhone 4s
I am pained to admit this, but I cannot figure out how to set locations in my iphone4s that I can set reminders to alert me to do whatever task I had previously set for myself to accomplish when I arrive at the noted location. What types of steps and preferences do I need to select and apply so I can hear Siri tell me as I pull into a lot or walk into a store at one place or another to be reminder of the "note to self" I created earlier to help ensure the purchase of specific goods or anything for that matter! Thanks for helping me out with the awesome function available on my phone that has done nothing but mock my ridiculous inability to master the ins & outs of the program.
Make sure you have an entry in your contacts for yourself that includes your work address. Then, go to Settings>General>Siri and make sure that your contact is selected for "My Info". For other locations, make sure that there is a contact with the correct address.

Location based reminders option not available on iPhone 6plus with iOS 8.1
Location based reminders option (within Reminders app) is not available. I can open the app and create a reminder based off time, but there is no option present to specify location. I have location services enabled. The Reminders app is not listed in my apps eligible to use Location services, but it's never asked... because it's not an option in the app to select.
iPhone 6plus with iOS 8.1Try using Siri to set the reminder, something like "remind me to call mom when I leave home". It should either know or ask what "home" is and that may initiate the location services. I did confirm that location services are available on the latest OS for the iPhone plus (just checked mine).

Location based reminders aren't working in iOS7
On iOS6 I routinely set reminders to go off, "when I get home" or "when I leave work". I simply asked Siri to remind me to do something when I got home and she would. Not. Any. More. I doesn't work at all now that I have downloaded iOS7. She will tell me that she will create the reminder and she does. I can go into reminders and see that it is all set to go off at the location I have set but it simply doesn't happen. This is a huge fail as I use this feature all the time to help me be more productive. HELP!!
In iOS 7 location based Reminders no longer function unless the Reminders app is running in the background.
If I ask Siri to remind me of things when I arrive or leave a location she confirms the request by saying "Here is the reminder for when you get home, should I create it?" I then confirm and she says ,"I'll remind you". She doesn't mention that Reminders needs to be active in order to remind me.
If this is intended behavior in iOS 7 this is a major step backward in terms of intuitive functionality and ease of use. I mean, I'm asking Siri to remind me of stuff because I'm probably not going to remember to do something. Why should I have to additionally remember to have Reminders running in the background to receive a Reminder notification? Very counter intuitive.
Steps that I have taken to try and resolve issue:
• Restore as new iPhone and manually install all apps
• Make sure that Siri is accessing my correct home and office location through my contact information.
• Made sure Reminder is in my Notification Center and all notifications types are turned on in the Notification Center
• Make sure the Do Not Disturb feature is not running either manually or scheduled
• Make sure Siri is on and has "my info" correct
• Make sure Background App Refresh is on and that it is turned on for Reminders
• Make sure a sound has been selected for Reminders in the Sounds settings
• Make sure Location Services are turned on gloabally and that it is turned on for Reminders and Siri specifically.
• Make sure all System Services are turned on
• Make sure I have cell signal when I arrive at places I am supposed to be reminded at
Still doesn't work!! -
Why are location-based reminders no longer working?
I have been using a 4s for the last couple of years and have not had an issue with the reliability of location-based reminders until recently. I have set these reminders both manually and via Siri, in iOS 6 and now 7. For a significant time, the reminders worked without fail in iOS 6, but over the last few months, they have stopped working (while still using iOS 6). In fact, it seems that when I set a location-based reminder manually, completed the process with the "done" button, and then double-checked that reminder's specific settings (the location info and the "on" toggle for a location-trigger), none of my input info was registered - i.e. the toggle was now off and no location info was remembered upon the double-check. Figuring that the app was no longer being as useful in iOS 6 since the intro of iOS 7 (perhaps it was getting more buggy in any new updates/iterations while I still used iOS 6?), I've recently updated to iOS 7, and the above issue persists. Location services for Reminders is on in the settings. Any explanation or fix..?!
Thank you!!Yeah it's weird that I can create location based reminders via iOS Safari using desktop mode and use a third party app that syncs with reminders to create location alerts and I can create location based alerts in the calendar app but not reminders. Could have sworn in iOS 7 I could.

calendar does not support location-based reminders....
i Just found a similar question below and it resolved my issue. Turn off the sync to exchange email and all works fine now.Couldn't agree more. I've been *trying* to use location reminders ever since buying my iPhone 4S but as yet, out of many, many attempts they've only actually worked once.
The kid problem is very simple, the way the phone needs the location to be an address in your address book, and it's subsequent inability to correctly locate the address. My home address is a correct postal address, and has been unchanged for 40+ years, yet clicking on my address from my own contact entry puts my location some distance down my street.
Whilst I understand the issue with the address lookup, it seems to be a massive problem with the location based reminders as it's just not possible to set useful reminders.
What if I want to remind myself of something when I arrive at the car park on a shopping trip? There is no address for that in my contacts, I just want to pinpoint the location on the maps and say 'remind me when I get there'. Surely that's the simplest my far. Same with address book contacts, if you had a field with the gps position in then one could tag the locations and know they were 100% accurate for location services.
Such a shame as it's one of the key reasons I upgraded my phone and as it stands it just plain doesn't work. -
Cannot clear pins & locations from reminders app
When I set location based reminder on iPhone 5s several pins and locations appear. They do not appear in MacBook app, the Map app looks clear, and they are not coming from Contacts. Any suggestion on how to clear the Reminder app?
Open Maps.
Tap the Address bar at top.
In the drop down, tap Favorites > (at top).
Tap Recents at bottom then tap Clear at top left.
