Set margin of the printer

Hi every body,
Can i set the margin of any Printer before
fetching data from database, for example before report trigger.
if i can how can i set the margins of the printer to equal to 0.2 for example.

Hello,
Reports provides a platform independent margin setting (the printer dialog margin setting is a Windows only feature). You shouldn't adjust the margins in the printer setup dialog because Reports is manipulating these on your behalf.
In the on-line help for the Report Builder, there's an index entry for "margin, adjusting" which should be useful.

  • Hi, I am trying to print to an HP4050n via a secure wireless network.  It prints but the default page setting sent to the printer is JIS B5.  I have to hit the "Go" to get the printer to print.  I have the correct setting in my Printer Settings (Letter).

I am attempting to print via a wireless (secure) network to an HP4050n printer.  The document prints AFTER I choose "GO" on the printer.  It is waiting as it wants me to load the JIS B5 paper/tray.  I have the printer defined as Letter but in spite of that, it is requesting a different setting.  I am thinking that because I am using the Generic PCL setting (I also tried the HP 4/5 PCL ) it is not communicating correctly.  It does print once I get up and hit the GO button.
    Any ideas?  Thanks.

The paper size would normally be coming from the application rather than some setting in the driver. I've never seen the Generic PCL driver send a request for B5, but then I do use A4 rather than Letter and I don't have a PCL printer at home to check this. But I do think it has more to do with the application/document being printed.
For the application that you are using, is there are a separate Page Setup menu?
If the page and document is correctly set to Letter, you mention a wireless secure. If you mean something more than a wireless network that requires a password to access it, such as using https to connect to a remote server, then it could be settings for the shared printer queue. Although these shared printers are usually just an access point (throughport) for the remote client. Still, if you do have some additional network server for this secure wireless network, then this could be contributing to the incorrect paper size call.

  • Set MARGIN  of Printer with REPORT6

I have some reports and to print some of them, the margin of prinetr must set to .5 and user must set it before any print. how can i set it in report builder with code or is there any way to solve this problem.
    and users dont do this.

    Hi,
On Windows the printer margin is controlled by the printer driver. This is called the printer or hardware margin. To this, you add the margin defined inside the report definition. The sum total is the margin that you will see on the report's printed output. For example, if the default printer margin is 2 cm, and you have defined 3 cm inside the report defintion, you should see a total 5 cm margin on the printed output. This should be consistent across prints. So you can reduce / increase the report definition margin, to get the exact output that you want in the printed output.
However, if you find that even by making the report definition margin zero you cannot get the margin that you want, then you can upgrade to version 6i patchset 15. From this patch onwards, the printer default margin is ignored, and only the report definition margin is counted.
Also, you can find useful notes if you serach for "margin" on Metalink.

On our 6-month old HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless A909g, we can't seem to figure out how to set the DEFAULT printing parameters so they really apply to all docs (unless we designate otherwise for a particular doc, of course).  When we set them, sometimes they work for the next doc, and sometimes they revert back to an earlier setting.
There seem to be three ways to set parameters for the printer: Properties, Printing Preferences or Printing Defaults on the Advanced tab.  (We really thought Printing Defaults on the Advanced tab would do it, since it's so hard to find, but ... NOT.)
My partner thinks it's an HP conspiracy to sell more ink because the reversion is to General with Color (the most ink-intensive, as far as I can figure out).  We are trying to fix the machine to start always with Fast-Economical/Black Ink Only.  Sometimes it's there and sometimes we have to re-jigger first.  We still have to check every time.
Also, I want to fix every job to "Print Back to Front" because the printer shoots out the pages face up.  Again, sometimes it's there, and sometimes we have to re-set before the job.
Also, whether we get the default we had set or we re-jigger first, the settings don't stick for every worksheet in an Excel workbook.  Or sometimes not even every page.
So, who out there has the 100% foolproof guide to NAILING DOWN THOSE SETTINGS FOR EVERYTHING?

  • Hi, Might I know that how to setup the printer setting at InDesign CS6 for the Lable print?

Hi, Might I know that how to setup the printer setting at InDesign CS6 for the Lable print?

Label printing isn't something you set up in the print dialog in ID. If your print driver has an n-up feature that might work, but in general you need to create pages of labels to fit your sheets in ID, then print. If you are talking about doing a merge of an address list, read about Data Merge in thehelp files.

  • I need some help setting up a WiFi printer please

Firstly, apologies for the long post but I’m really struggling with this one.
I live in France and am trying to get wifi printing working on a friend’s Intel iMac (OSX Tiger 10.4.11) connected to a Lexmark X4875 printer. She’s connecting to the internet via Airport using a Livebox router, no problems. I’ve set up the printer to work wifi and that all 'appears' to be successful with the wifi light going to green as it should. I’ve also ‘associated’ the printer with the router by pressing the association button on the Livebox at the time of set-up and the printer is registered with the Livebox with correct MAC id.
So far everything looks like it should work until I go ‘Add Printer’ and the wifi printer is never seen (no problems if connected via USB). I’ve reset the printer erasing all print settings and starting again, done numerous restarts of all devices and still no go.
I should add that I have set up many wifi printers previously and even had this one working previously for over a year - it’s just that she had to get a new Livebox recently and now I can’t get it to work.
I realise that not everybody will be familiar with the Livebox although they are common anywhere Orange operates as an ISP but I’m hoping that someone will have some nugget of information that will help me get this sorted.
Thanks in advance for any advice, Paul.

    Bump! Anyone?

  • The printer could not be detected on the network message during Canon PIXMA MX922 installation

Could not complete driver installation during brand new set-up because of this message. Went through wirless connection set-up several times and connectivity was always present. Logged into my D-Link 626L router and could see the printer connected but the ip address referenced was 0.0.0.0. Tried to assign a static ip address through set-up on the printer and also use the cmd prompt in windows, all to no avail. Called Canon Support and these 2 setting changes solved the problem: 1) Disable the Wirelss LAN DRX setting2) Disable the IPv6 Setting This article explains how to adjust the settings on the printer. http://kbsupport.cusa.canon.com/system/selfservice.controller?CONFIGURATION=1011&PARTITION_ID=1&secureFlag=false&TIMEZONE_OFFSET=&CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=65398 The name of the article is: Check the IPv6 and Wireless LAN DRX settingsI hope this helps someone else as I spent many hours trying to get this working. Now all is well after changing the above. Thank you Canon Support!

Thanks so much.  The cable company gave me a new (better?) router after which I could not print wirelessly any more.  Your answer solved the problem.... after I had tried in vain for several hours on my own. Much appreciated !!!

  • Printer has lines through the printing

When printing somelines print and someline print with letter not filled out 100% cannot read top or bottom of the test page print on the top row of captial letters
I have cleaned and Align the printer 6 times

    Hello @Dcent,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're experiencing print quality issues when printing to your HP Deskjet 1000 Printer from your Windows 7 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. Now you indicate in your post that you have already cleaned and aligned the printer 6 times to no avail. At this point I would suggest avoiding cleaning the printhead system any more times. Generally the rule of thumb is, if 2-3 cleans don't make any difference, don't proceed from there as ink is used to clean the printhead system. If 3 cleans haven't made any difference than ink will just be wasted if you run any more cleans. At this point I'm going to have you run some standalone print quality steps on your machine to verify if this issue is being caused by a hardware issue or by a setting issue with the printer software or driver on your Windows 7 computer.
To start, can I please have you click here. Once the page opens, please run through the Print Quality Troubleshooting steps provided. Run through the step by step instructions to resolve this quality issue. However, I would like you to avoid running any further cleans or alignments of your printer.
Please respond to this post with the result of your standalone print quality troubleshooting.  I look forward to hearing from you!

  • OJ 6500 E709n, W7,How to change which home network computer receives scan from the printer?

Only one computer of the three on my home network can receive any scan from this wireless printer.  It was the first one set up to do that.
That computer is now away at school.  How can I change the computer on the network that will receive the scan?
I have tried to change the printer from the printer's Set up on the printer's face, but it only shows the one computer and I can't figure out how to change it to another printer.
    Thank you for your help.

Hi AtlArchitect, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see you are looking into connection options.  Due to the age of the printer, there is not software to connect to Windows 7.  You do have the option to connect with a USB via the Windows basic print driver.  You can find more information here:
Installing the Printer Software in Windows 7 for a USB Cable Connection

    Hi amole,
    one more doubt,
    Iam new to use BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE.
What are the mandatory fields that should be passed to it to create SES ( Service Entry Sheet ).
The data given to me is:
      Purchase Ord number,
      Activity Number,
      Rate,
      Quantity,
      External Number.
Is the above data is enough to create SES.
      please clarify.

  • Can you set the print margins in Preview?

Simple question: Is there a way to set the print margins when printing an image from Preview?
    Thanks,
    -ME

I can set margins in other programs (like Photoshop, Word, Excel, Firefox, Chrome...), but there does not seem to be a setting for margins when printing from Preview. I don't want to resize the image, just get it to print in a certain position on the paper (template form).
In the case of Photoshop, you are placing an image on a canvas and can position the image to suit. Word and Excel have a Page Setup menu that lets you set the margin positions - which know since you have got the output you wanted. There is no Page Setup menu for most, if not all, Apple applications like Preview. Instead parts of the Page Setup menu have been added to the print dialog but margins is not one of them.

Understood. Unfortunately you don't get that option in Preview. The image will be centred - both horizontal and vertical - based on the paper size and the printer you have selected in the print dialog. You could create a custom paper size with the margins you want to position the image and then use that custom paper in Preview. But your workaround of using Word gives you more control over the positioning of the image.

  • Is there a way to set the printed margins to zero. I want to fill the whole page, as much as the printer allows.

Normally Firefox prints Title, URL, time and page number on the four corners of the printed page. I want to remove printing of this
information and instead print the page out to the corners limited by
what the printer allows. I know how to stop printing the URL etc. but then I get empty margins. I want to set this margins to zero so Firefox prints on the whole paper sheet. As it is now I will have to use another browser that doesn't insert unwonted margins.

Is there a way to set the FOLDERS window in Adobe Bridge as a Column view like in Mac OSX Finder?
No, but it is very nice idea, add it to the feature request page:
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/

  • When I print a web page there is a large margin to the left even though the left margin is set to zero, this also shows in print preview.

Changing any other print parameters does not get rid of the problem. Firefox is fully up to date.

The default is in about:config and there were many printers with lots of random settings and no way to get rid of old printers, etc. so I just used what was recommended elswhere - in my profile directory, I exited firefox, edited prefs.js and removed everything starting with "printer.", then restarted, selected (the default) printer and made sure the options were right - and weren't being overridden to a tiny default paper size or other problem, and then did a preview and it was normal.
I recently changed how I connect to my printer so there were several variants (X, X_usb, X_ether, X_wifioldAP, X_wifinewAP ...), and updated the drivers, etc. so it is possible something really confused the prefs.js entries for the printer as most recently configured. some of them had the strange small value (and used metric), others were normal.
In any case, removing all the printers reset the options and everything is working normally now.
