Set "minimum font size" to 13 hack

If you try to type in "13" in the Safari prefs for minimum font size ( Advanced prefs - "never display fonts smaller than" ), the app will not let you type "1" then anything else.
So, you are stuck with 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 18 etc
If you want "13", you cannot select or type it in.
Hack: Type "13" into a text / word processor, select & copy it, then hilite the field in Safari and paste in the "13".
Works fine!

  • How to set minimum font size in mail app?

How can I set a minimum font size in mail app? I have received mails that have a font size that seems to be smaller than 9pt which results being nearly unreadable. Sure its possible to increase the font size by pressing cmd + "+" but this setting isn't remembered for the next time I open these mails. Prior to Mavericks there was a solution to write the minimum font size to the defaults. Anything similar for Yosemite?

No, this only applies to the font size for the header displayed above the mail content and the font type and size of the Rich Text mails your are composing. With this setting you cannot modify the font size or type of received messages.

  • Minimum Font Size doesn't work

I've set Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size to 10 pt, but when I use Zoom Out, I get smaller fonts: The relation between font sizes on a page is kept.
What I want is FF 1.5 behavior: Minimum Font Size is honored even on Zoom Out, which results in shrinking the headlines only and finally ending with all Text in the same size after some repetitions of Zoom Out.
I have disabled Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above".
I have set Minimum Font Size for several encodings, but maybe the reason for the current behavior is a missing UTF-8 setting in the Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > "Fonts for" listbox ? Most pages including this support.mozilla.com use that encoding.

Main Menu -> View -> Zoom -> Zoom Text Only

  • How do I set up minimum font size for mail messages in iPod touch 5G?

According to the iPod touch User Guide for iOS 6:
Set the minimum mail message font size: Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Minimum Font Size
But in "Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars" I don't see the "Minimum Font Size" option.
    Thank you in advance!

Look under Settings > General > Accessibility > Large Text

  • Minimum Font Size not working in Safari 4.0.4

Setting the minimum font size in Safari is ineffectual. Also, there seems to be another problem: the right and left sides of the search box on the right on this page are doubled and look like this: (( )). Are there any solutions to fix these? Thanks.

This is a know issue that the hosts know. This problem has been happening for many months. Apple doesn't own the program that makes this forum happen. So it's not an easy fix for the host to do. Maybe on day they get the maker of the forum program to fix it. The search box still works.

  • Minimum font size RichEditableText

I'm using RichEditableText (with a TextConverter textFlow) to display emails that have been received which works great for bot clear text as well as HTML emails, however sometimes the HTML is really tiny.
Now I've looked at this for a while and it always appears to be caused by a fault in the HTML markup in the received email.
Some had a tag like ...<FONT SIZE="1"><SPAN STYLE='font-size:9.0px'>... in it and others had other similar reasons for it to appear very small.
I obviously can't control what tags different mail clients put in their HTML mails, but does anyone know if there's a way of setting like a minimum font size for this RichEditableText so even though the HTML says it should be font size 1, it's actually displayed at the minimum size?
    I'm currently using this:
         <s:RichEditableText id="noteText"     selectable="true" editable="false" textFlow="{TextConverter.importToFlow(theEmail, TextConverter.HTML_FORMAT)}" />
    Thanks

Hmm, unfortunately this means i'll have to scan and reformat HTML as it comes in and replace <font size=xx> so the minimum size is i,e, 10px.
All doable, but just a bit frustrating that there still is no simple way to display some basic HTML (and I don't want to go down the iFrame route).
Oh, I also noticed the rendering of textFlow HTML in a richtexteditor is extremely slow and it stops rendering when it comes across:
I'll file seperate bug reports for those as well.
Luckily the Halo Text still does the trick even with it's known HTML limitations.
    Ah well. Thanks anyway.

  • How to set the font size in JOptionPane?

    I use a JOptionPane.showOptionDialog in a JClient form.
Can I set the font size of the message in my JOptionPane?
And also, can I set the location for each component in JOptionPane?

The best way to do that is to create a seperate panel with its components in it (a JLabel with a specific font setting) and display that panel as the JOptionPane's message.
As for the OK/Cancel/etc buttons, I don't think you'll be able to rearange them, without hacking into the JOptionPane class' source.

  • How do you specify a minimum font size for incoming mail?

Is there a way to specify a minimum font size for incoming mail messages? Mail I get from others is almost unreadable and I always have to manually (apple +) increase the size.
As a test, a friend on a PC (most mail I get comes from Windows) kept increasing the size he sent me, but when I received it there was no change in size on my end.
I can't find anything in Mail's menus and preferences to change this behavior.
    Mail 2.07; OS 10.4.6.
    Thanks,
    Cathy

if i had the problem then i'd make a backup copy of
    my ~/library/preferences/com.appple.mail.plist file,
open the original in property list editor, look for
any likely elements that have small or negative font
sizes and set them to, say, 12, save the changes and
    see if that helped
Found the file; couldn't open it (tried Text Edit?) to make any changes.
You can use the following trick to force Mail to
always use a larger minimum font size on received
messages - some HTML messages might not look exactly
as intended but at least you can now read them:
    1. Quit Mail
    2. Open the Terminal
    (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal) and type in the
    following:
    defaults write com.apple.mail
    MinimumHTMLFontSize 13
    3. Restart Mail.app and your HTML messages are
    readable.
Of course you can set the point size to whatever you
    like.
Found file; was not comfortable inputing text as this simple task did not behave properly.
PC friend said other Mac user reported this same anomally with receiving small text from him. I have over a dozen different PC users that I correspond with where I have this problem. It seems to be on the Mac end.

  • Print Module - Set Explicit Font Sizes

In the Print Module Identity Plate can Lightroom set font size explicitly instead of using only a % scale factor?
The scale factor is a great idea but it would be a lot more convenient at times to set the font size explicitly to 10 or 12 or whatever so it could carry over to other titles if you want all your titles to print in a specific font size (e.g. 12 points). That's already possible with Vibrance, Recovery and a host of other settings (including the Identity Plate scale factor itself!) and it's very valuable to be able to have those exacting controls.
    Thanks,
    Robert

    Ian,
I'd be very pleased if I'm doing something wrong. From what I see the Identity Plate supports only one font size, and only for the most recent photo. When I choose Edit and type in a new title of a different length Lightroom changes the size of the font (the longer the title, the smaller the font and vice versa). Try this:
    1) Open Identity Plate and title the picture "Hello".
    2) Change the title to "I just love Adobe Lightroom so very much!"
The title will be smaller. Lightroom seems to disregard the Identity Plate font size.
I just tried your recommendation and no matter how I changed the Identity Plate font size in the Print module (e.g. from 38pt to 8pt) the photo's title text size barely changes, I have to use the Scaling slider every time. That font sizing functionality only works for me in the Library module when I'm creating my actual Identity Plate.
Every time I change pictures I have to re-do this step. The way I'm dealing with this is changing the scaling factor (or with your recommendation, the font size) every time for every different-length title and/or enlarging/shrinking the title box for each photo.
As I explained in my other reply to your other post, this is very time-consuming when you're printing 50-100 titled photos in a single day/weekend (not to mention the fact that it's physically impossible to set every scaling factor so all titles print exactly the same size font).
It would be a lot better for Lightroom to automatically save all the print parameters the way it saves all other of the picture's metadata.
If you could share an easy way to make that much faster I'd be quite grateful.

  • How can I set the font size of a form field in the fdf file?

I need to dynamically set the font size of a field to accommodate text of varying length, automatic font size won't work in this case. It seems like this can be done in the FDF but I have tried several variants without success. Could someone help out with a real example of what the syntax in the fdf should look like.
I am using Acrobat Professional 8.1 but the created fdf will need to work with Reader also.

I think that the font size has to be set in the form itself, not the FDF.

  • Setting default font size in Safari

Hi. I like to set my font size in Safari to one level below the default. I usually do this everytime I open up a Safari window and hit Command+Minus or go to View > make text smaller. Anyway, I was wondering if there was a way I could set this to default so I did not have to do it everytime I launched Safari?

    mrurmil --
You can go into the main Safari Menu, (upper left of top Menu)
    Go to Preferences>Advanced
and then lower the size font designated in
"Never use font sizes smaller than _"
Mine's set to 9 which is pretty small,
but I like it better. I believe it was set to 11 or 12 natively.
    Hope this helps.

  • Set global font size for the whole application.

Is there a way of setting a font globally
What I mean I want to set a font size for the whole application.
    Is this posable ??
    Thanks Craig

After posting over 300 questions I would think you would be passed the "New to Java TechnologY" stage.
The answer for Swing applications is yes this can be done.
I don't know how to do it for AWT components.
Since you posted the question in this forum (as oppose to the Swing forum for Swing related problems), I'm assuming this is an AWT related question and therefore I can't help you.
