Pcmanfm can't set programs for file types

I would like set a gpicview for jpg files, but when I set this program in pcmanfm menu - pcmanfm doesn't open jpg with gpicview...
after installing thunar - I set gpicview for jpg in thunar and now pcmanfm is opening jpg with gpicview...
How change this strange problem? Why thunar is able to set programs for files but pcmanfm doesn't?

No. CSS is for presentation, but these parameters belong to
the HTML and
have to be written there.
BTW: The 'embed' element is invalid HTML. If you care about
valid markup
and your site doesn't have to be compatible with really old
browsers
like NN 4 or IE 5.5, then you should use the valid method
using 'object'
elements.

Error in Analyze setting program - 1KE1

Dear All Experts,
When I am running report 1KE1 error analyze setting program in CO. I am getting below two errors. I went through SDN threads I didn't get any post related.
Errors as below :
1 ) No control indicators have been maintained for actual data
2 ) No control indicators have been maintained for plan data
I have tried execution button attached to it, it is alos not executing the related T.code I guess.
If anybody has gone through the same, please guide. It will be helpful.

[SOLVED]Where is the place to set program path for root in arch?

The situation is that I use qingy (set up according to wiki) as login manager and kde as desktop. When I use tty6 (agetty) to login (how comes that I cannot login as root, have to login as user and then su) /usr/sbin is in the path for root, but in kde when I su in konsole it is not. That caused me some headache with the latest kernel upgrade, since in kde the kernel will not upgrade properly, I have to do it on tty6. what is the proper way to set paths in arch? I looked at /root/.bashrc and that is almost empty. What obvious things am I missing? Has qingy to do with that problems? Any docs on that for arch? Besides firefox doesn't see any installed plugins, opera does. Plain Centrino laptop here.

Thanks for the answers. Investigated a little more and it seems it is really qingy what messes things up. Deactivated it and used "startxfce4" to start xfce and "startx" with "exec startkde" in my .xinitrc to start kde (once I figured out that in Arch "startkde" on command prompt alone does not work ) and voila, the path weirdness is gone in both DEs. Will look again into qingy when I have more time, since it is really nice when using different X setups (laptop on the go or laptop on docking with second display), like the eye candy. I guess I will stick to console now and simply use bash aliases for that purpose.

Set Program Associations opens at every boot

Hi All, Got a weird one here...For reference, I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro (6.3.9600) and Skype for Desktop 7.5.64.102.
Every time I boot Windows the Set Program Associations control panel applet launches. I've tried removing Skype and the issue goes away, but returns as soon as I reinstall it. This has been happening for the past 6 months or so. There doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary in the Windows Startup list, and the issue goes away if I uncheck "Start Skype when I start Windows". Obviously if I do that then Skype no longer starts at boot. The issue doesn't occur if I launch Skype normally. Any ideas?

It would be rare and unlikely that all of us have some "weird" software that prevents write access to our own files. I can tell you I am on the latest version, I do not have anything preventing write access. Usually, software that prevents write access, are found in corporate/enterprise systems.
How can I tell that this is Skype impoperly checking the associations on startup?
Because the options inside it are checked, and I have hit save. Upon restart, those options remain as I set them.
This is not a problem with write permissions to the drive.
Further more, Skype uses your C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData directory. If there was a problem writing to it, then you would have more problems than just Skype.

Setting background images for transparent terminals

Of the various terminal emulators I've tried (aterm, urxvt, terminal) none of them function properly with regard to transparency if the background is set with imagemagick.
display -window root <image>
Terminal and aterm do not show through to the background image at all. While urxvt does become transparent, none of the tinting options show any effect.
This is not a huge issue. There are of course many other programs that can be used to set a background image. When using feh for example, all of the afore mentioned terminal emulators seem to handle transparency as expected.
feh --bg-scale <image>
However, if both methods of setting the background are used at the same time with different images, then the terminal emulators will show through to the background image that was placed with feh, while the actual desktop background is that of the image set by imagemagick. So the images are effectively placed on different layers.
There was a forum thread that hinted at this before, but there was never any resolution to it. Is this behavior a bug or a "feature"? With which program?
And if it makes any difference I've tried this in both openbox and ion3. Same results.

It's a bug with the apps that set the background which use the "old way" of doing it. Apps like feh use the "newer approach" which allows things such as aterm to detect the real image and use it for pseudo-transparency.

How to set an alert for unauthorized ClearPass login

Q: As a network administrator, how do i set alerts for a unauthorized access to ClearPass server (via SMS or Mail) ?
A: A network admin would want to know, if someone unauthorized is trying to access the ClearPass server. The solution below explains, how a SMS/Mail alert can be set on ClearPass server for the same.
Manual to way for a admin to check ClearPass login is via Event Viewer. Here the Alert level is WARN for a invalid login.
However for an automatic alert, we need to take following steps:
In order to send alerts via Mail, we need to configure SMTP server on ClearPass
2. In order to send alerts via SMS we need to configure SMS gateway
3. Now once the Mail and SMS config is done, we need to set Alerts. For that we need to navigate to CPPM > Administration > Server Manager > Server Configuration > Cluster-Wide Parameters > Notifications
4. Here the system alert level is set to WARN (same for a Invalid login attempt) to capture unauthorized ClearPass login attempts.

Set black to be transparent in Quicktime Pro

Hi everyone. I exported a Keynote presentation from Keynote and would like to set the black background of the movie to be transparent. Is there a way to do this?

QuickTime 7 Pro has changed some of the ways to use transparency and the visual settings tab of the Movie Properties window is where you find them.
Unfortunately setting a single color (Color Wheel) as transparent in gone in this version.
Extract just the text track (as a QT.mov) and email it to me at the screen name at the left @mac.com and I can send it back to you with transparency. I still have a working version of QT 6.5.2 Pro that I can use to adjust it.

Setting audio output levels automatically at login (even with command-line)

When I log in, the audio level seems to be at the level set by the last user. Is there a way to get this to automatically set to my preferred level when I log in?
A related question: Is there a command-line method of setting the audio level?

u could use scripting...
sudo osascript -e "set Volume 20"
using that at the command line will change the volume level to 20.
you could put that in a script or something and have it launch at login.

OamAuthn cookies are not set with encrypted value in https login with FFbro

we have developed a custom login page which is deployed on oam server itself .
In custom login page we are passing 3 userinfo like username ,passowrd and request id as part of authentication parameter .
We have developed our own javascript to pass all these information using ajax call .
Below are the snippet of ajax method which is posting the data to oam server .

Here we are making login page call using ssl port Like our login page is https://oamserver:14101/.....
This code is working perfectly fine in internet explorer but in firefox oracle access manager is not setting any value to oamAuthnCookeis.
I mean before logging and after logging value of oamAuthnCookies remains same like
LoggedoutContinue .

This is a known issue of CEP (Common Extensibility Platform, a DLL that supports displaying extensions). Code like “document.cookie” in HTML extension is invalid because CEF (CEP integrated CEF3 to display HTML Extensions) intentionally disables cookies on "file://..." for a variety of reasons.
However, CEP stores cookies at:
Windows: "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Temp\cep_cookies"
Mac: "/Users/yourusername/Library/Logs/CSXS/cep_cookies"

Setting background colour to transparent?

Why does cropping a photo leave a green background instead of being transparent? I'm fairly new at using the Photo Elements 10, I had v.7 which I could select "reverse" and delete background, then copy and paste into a new picture. However, the "copy" has a feathered edge and when I flatten the image then try to re-size/crop image, the background of the copy is still dark green??
I can't remember how to set the background colour to "clear" not coloured nor feathered .... Please help.

Double click the background layer to turn it to a regular layer before you start. If you delete on a background layer, the empty space fills with the chosen background color.

Setting program/job arguments

I have a dbms_scheduler job that runs a SP, this SP requires 2 parameters passing to it (p_from_date and p_to_date). I have set my argument as below.

);My problem is that the default values are set to the dates when i compile this on the DB. How can i set these parameters as running parameters, as in the dates are set at the time of the job running?
Can this be done using SET_JOB_ARGUMENT_VALUE?

Hi,
You can't do this directly. But there are two workarounds
- use a scheduler program with a metadata_argument for job_start or scheduled_job_start. This way the time the job stared at (or was scheduled to start at) will be passed in as a job argument . See documentation for define_metadata_argument
- use a plsql block as the job action, and in the block you can refer to predefined variables job_start and job_scheduled_start
- have the default value for these arguments defined to be null, and then in your stored procedure interpret NULL as the required value.

Set program defaults

Win 7 professional, upgraded from CS3 to CS5.5...
I have a user that is trying to set Illustrator 5.1 as the default program for .dwg files. Currently it is set to use the CS3 version as default. I have tried using the Default Programs application in Control Panel and tried using the Opens With... context menu from a .dwg file with no success. I have looked through the Preferences menu in Illustrator 5.1 to see if there was a way to do it there, but no luck.
Any suggestions? Do I need to remove CS3 first?

That may be ok. There are many programs that can handle images.
If you look closely at my screen capture you will see several windows open.
My Start button showing the start of all Program you may notice several versions of Photoshop and bridge.
I also open windows default Program and its first two items "set your default programs" and "Associate a file type or protocol with a Program"
In window set default Program you may notice there is no version of Photoshop in it just like on your system.
In window Associate a file type or protocol with a Program that Photoshop CC is associated with jp2 jpg and others. I probably should also associate jpeg with Photoshop CC instead of FastPictureViewer.
Its a bit messy and applications keep trying to associate themselves with a file type. If you need to reinstall CS2 after a newer version of Photoshop associations get changed to CS2. You need to change associations back to CC or reinstall CC on top of itself.
In fact when I just changed Jpeg to CC. CC did not show in Open with till after I click on other programs or I browsed to the exe
