Set published iCal to display month by default?

hi
i´m using ical in my iweb page. What I would like to is simply, that everybody visting first, sees the month by default and not the week. Any suggestions?

I don't know if this will work for all viewers but go to our calendar online and set the preferences to have monthly as the default and hit the Apply button. That will set it for you but don't know if it will carry over for other users.
You can try my embedded calendar in this test page and see if you get weeks or months. I get months when I load the page.

Unfortunately no, but if they are repeat viewers why not tell them to change their view to "Monthly" using the "Preferences" button on that page?

How to set up ical to send email AND message alerts by default

How do I set up iCal to send me an email alert and a message with sound 15 minutes before the event by default so that I don't have to remember to do this everytime I add an event in iCal (which by the way I can't remember)?

But the problem is when i insert to combo box,use u201Cfilter Row u201D, i excpectation will display only 2009,2010
But Actual display the Year in combo box is duplicated :'(
so any solution ? and then only how to set current year & month as default value :'(

In this, year and month both are same data, make the diffent data like year 2009, 2010 And month Jan, Feb, March, ...Etc
and also one more check you formulas on month and year, select correct source data, destination data for compoonent..
OR
from above, to create a date column and convert date-->year, date--> month and Explore it.

the default - "all day" or "time based" - depends on the view in iCal. In month view the default is "all day",
in week view or day view it is a time interval, if you use "File -> New Event". If you add the event by double clicking into the calendar, it will depend on the section you are clicking - in the all day section you will add an all-day event, in the time-grid you will enter an event with start-end time.

I presume that your question relates to the Calendar App on the iPad.
You have to use the "repeat>Custom" setting on the Desktop version of iCal.

ICal not displaying all events in Month view, leaving unused blank space

I think this is a bug or bad programming of iCal:
In the month view, I have for example a day with 5 or 6 events. When I change the size of the global iCal window, the size of each day is of course changing, displaying more or less of the events on that day; and displaying "..." when additional events exist but can not be shown. This is all fine... and normal...
However, I noticed that iCal is simply not making use of the whole space: when my day is bog enough to display all events, iCal is still only displaying half of them, and the "...".
This is really a pity as the white space is there.
Anybody observed the same behavior?

Is there any way to make the event calendar display the month of the next upcoming event when the event calendar loads, and not the current month as default?

This looks like an example of a Pivot . See the forum FAQ {message:id=9360005} for several ways to do that, suitable for different versions.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post your best attempt, along with a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data. Sinmplify the problem. For example, even though you're interested in all days of the month, post a problem that only involves, say, days after the 26th of the month. We'll help you find a solution that works for all days.
In the case of a DML operation (such as INSERT) the sample data should show what the tables are like before the DML, and the results will be the contents of the changed table(s) after the DML.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0). This is always important, but even more so with pivots.

Publish iCal on .Mac

Hi
After publishing iCal, I get URL in "View Page". I use the URL on my homepage to show iCal.
However, when it's linked, it always shows 'Weekly' page as a default page. I like 'Monthly' page as a default page.
I clicked 'Preferences' and changed a default page to 'Monthly' and it seems to work in Safari until I empty cache. And then it shows 'Weekly' as a default page.
I also noticed that 'Preferences' doesn't work in FireFox. When I tried to change a default page and clicked 'Apply', it goes to Apple site.
My question is, how can I make 'Monthly' page as a default page, permanently?

I just tried to figure out a way to fix this, but it seems like a flaw in the program (at least for you). I would recommend leaving feedback on the iCal feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html.

Publishing iCal on internet

So I dont have a .Mac account, but I'm looking for a website that supports publishing iCal information. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I tried using iCalX.com but am having problems with it, its not really displaying the correct information.

Actually, you don't need .Mac for most services, including iCal publishing. Here's a good resource for setting up WebDAV for iCal sharing: http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2002/09/20/ical_webdav.html

Can't display month view

Every time I try to display month view on my calendar ical just disappears, it can't do it for some reason. It can display week or day views just not month. Does anyone know what might be going on?

Display Month verbiage on chart but sort by month number

Hello,
I have inserted a simple bar chart (values by month for a single year) and my goal is to get the data values to group by month.
I found that I can achieve this by using a formula that extracts the month from my Date/TIme field MONTH({Command.OB_DELIVERY_DATE}).
This works OK and displays months as 1, 2, 3, etc. on my chart), but I want to display the month text instead (Jan, Feb, Mar)
I tried a second variable: ToText({Command.OB_DELIVERY_DATE},'MMMM')
This works in displaying the verbiage of the months, however, the problem is that it groups the months on my chart alphabetically now (April is now my 1st month instead of January).
What is the trick to displaying month verbiage on my chart, but still sorting these months in their proper numerical order?

Try this please:
1) Insert a Crosstab and place it on the Report Header. Use the Delivery Date field as the row and add the measure field as the Summary Field with the right Sum function
2) Highlight the Delivery Date field > Group Options > set it to print 'For Each Mointh'
3) While in the Crosstab Expert highlight the Delivery Date field > Click Group Options > Options tab > check the option 'Customize Group Name field' > Select 'use formula as group name' and click the formula button beside. Use this code:
ToText({Command.OB_DELIVERY_DATE},'MMMM')
4) Right-click the Crosstab and select Insert Chart. Choose the right Chart Type
5) Suppress the Section that holds the Crosstab

J, iCal will display Jul 17 until it is opened and remains open. When iCal is quit, it will revert to the default Jul 17. If you think that iCal should behave differently, you can send feedback to the iCal developers. For me, there are other ways to find out what today's date is than to rely on iCal's icon.

Publish ical on internet for any apple or window users?

I would like to publish ical for my business. Therefore my clients can see what days I have available. I have tried ical exchange and am not able to get my friend to log onto it on their windows (mozilla) web browser. I have tried .web but run into the same problem. I do not want to use .mac if I have to because of the cost. I figure I have two options publish it to a site similar to ical exchange or publish directly to my website. I do not know how to either, any advice?

You can use the publish feature of iCal to publish your calendar to either a .Mac account or any other URL which is running WebDAV services (WebDAV is a mechanism to allow file transfers over FTP - supported by Apache and many fine web server software).
If your web site is not running WebDAV see if your system administrator can set that up for you.

For what its worth, I pay the $99 for .Mac and between the backup software and synchronizing my machines I think its worth it. The .Mac hosting and Email is just a bonus.
