Set up account for mail

Hello,
I have a new ipowerbook and it is my first mac. I love it and I am already familiar with with the other features, BUT today I wanted to setup "mail". It is writing me "The .Mac server “mail.mac.com” rejected the password..."
Where can I setup my account? Are there any charges?
Please HELP!

Have you subscribed to .Mac services, including an email address, or are you presuming the Mail program requires the use of a .mac address? Such is not the case. Please read the following, and then ask questions and report whether you have arranged any email address with your ISP:

The iPhone has a feature called "Activation Lock" described here:

Without that Apple ID, you will not be able to use that iPhone.

Unable to set GL Account for each ItemGroup in Inventory

Hi,
I am Using SAP b1 2005b Patch level 27.
I created one database with "Chart of Accounts INDIA." then I got Default Chart of Accounts.
I want to set GL Account for each ItemGroup in Inventory.
How to assign the Perticular GL Account for Particular Item Group? where can i find this provision in SAP b1?
I am trying from past 2 days, I did not get the way to assign the GL Account for each Item Group.
Plz help me asap.

Hello,
you can set it in the module administration --> setup --> inventory --> item group --> tab accounting. But first you must define the name of item group. it is still in the same form.

Setting up account for an alias in mail

I have created an alias on me.com for an email for my dart club. Can i create a mail account which retrieves only the emails sent to the alias? When I try setting up an account for the alias address, all of my emails to my regular account are downloaded as well. What to do?

Setting up folders for mail accounts.

Hello all. I am 3 day old mac owner (got a MacBook) and I need some help with Mail.app.
I have two pop accounts set up and all is well but I can't for the life of me figure out how to set up folders in each account for certain types of mail to be placed in. For instance I would like my wife's emails to automagically be placed in it's own folder for said account so I don't have to see or worry about them. Is this possible? I'd like to have folders for bills, family, friends, etc and any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

you would do this through creating folders, and then creating rules. however you have to have distinct attributes for the rules to pic up on.
if i understand correctly you have your pop account and your wifes. if you notice on inbox, there is an arrow next to it, you can drop it down and see each individual account so you dont view them all together.
i would also suggest that maybe you create an entirely different user for your wife, then neither of you would ever have to deal with sorting between each others emails.
to add a folder, there is a plus sign at the lower left hand corner of mail, click it and the location you want to create should be "on my mac," then to set up a rule you go to preferences and then rules, the rules should make sense, but if not just ask.
i realise this may not exactly solve all the issues, but will probably get you at least closer, and then just ask anything else.

Unable to set up account in Mail

I have a problem with setting up a POP account in Mail. During the account setup Mail states there is a problem with the user name or password and refuses to work however I know both are correct.
The same account works fine on 2 other Macs running Mail with exactly the same settings.
And on the machine where Mail doesn't work I can telnet to port 110 and login into the POP account no problem. I can also set up Entrourage to work with the same account on the same machine.
And final point is that the email account is for a client and I run the POP server and there are no messages in the log files on the server about failed or attempted logins from this user. I know Mail is connecting to the server since if I put an incorrect user name or password during the setup I get an error on the server.
Please some ideas would be great.

One other point that is relevant is that this problem is occuring on two Macs.
In answer to your questions:
1. Yes there are other .Mac accounts
2. Not sure about this one but I doubt it since the client doesn't usually muck around with the fonts but they do move some Applications to a separate folder.
3. It is the version distributed with 10.4 and all updates to 10.4.6 have been applied. I will get the client to confirm the Apple Mail version.
4. No that is something I haven't tried. I will ask the client to try this.

Also I've jsut tried to set the account up on a Mac with Mail version 2.1 (752/752.2) and again it failed with the same error message. This Mac has nothing to do with the affected client, and I've tried this one to eliminate any problems with moved Applications or font problems. On this same machine I set the account up in Entourage and it worked no problem. The mail server is OS X Server with 10.4.

Has anyone set up their gmail account in mail? If so what should go in the incoming mail server field and outgoing mail server (STMP) field?

You use the appropriate domain names of your ISP's mail servers. For a .Mac account the incoming server is mail.mac.com and the outgoing server is smtp.mac.com. However, if you set up a .Mac account normally these are provided automatically by Mail.
If you don't know your ISP's mail servers and are unable to locate them on their web site, then call their tech support for assistance.

How to deselect "automatically set up account" in Mail?

I have a new Mac book Pro OS X v. 10.6.7 and I don't have the option to deselect "automatically set up account" when I set up a new account in Mail. I have therefore not the option to say which type of account I want: IMAP, POP, etc. On my old MacBook this option was available.
Does anyone have an idea how I can still deselect this option so I can choose the type of account I really wish to have?

1.I want to set the different Inventory Accounts for each goup in "ItemGrops" In ItemMaster.
how can i set?
2. in ItemMaster-> Inventory tab->Set G/L Accounts by option
when i select the 'ItemLevel' and update it is showing error like
'"Purchase credit account not defined for this item'"
how can i rectify this error.

You have stated that you are trying to Set GL by Item Group. If you want to set GL by Item Group, I am wondering why you are trying to change the setting in the Item Master area by ....ItemMaster-> Inventory tab->Set G/L Accounts
If you want this setting to be a Global setting for all the Items then you have to set this in Admin > System Initia.. > General Settings > Inventory Tab.... Set G/L Account by
After this... you can set the different G/L Accounts for each Item Group by accessing the Item Groups itself Admin>Seup>Inventory>Item Groups
For each Item Group in the Accounting tab you can set the different GL Accounts relevant to that Item Group
In case for some items you want the GL's to be different (not based on the Item Group they belong to), then you could go to the Item Master > Inventory tab and change the settings to Item Level and Change the G/L as required.
NOTE: You do not have to specify the G/L Account for each Item individually if you are going to be using Item Groups.

On the 5 I can only set up a mail account as LMAP.

Suggestions for allowing multiple users to access one account to avoid having to reimburse folks for every download on their work iPads?

short answer, no. Mail.app does not have support within itself for multiple user accounts. It displays the messages from the mailboxes of the user that is currently logged in. so if you want multiple people to read their mail on the same mac without being able to read other users' mail, you will need to set up multiple user accounts. alternatively, use another client. i think thunderbird supports multiple mail accounts under the same user account. hope this helps.

Setting default account for sending email

I have 4 accounts I use for sending email, but would like to have one be the default and can't figure how to do that. there is a check box next to the outgoing server dropdown that says use only this account. I don't think that is what I want, nor am i clear what that would do.
Is there a way to set a preferred outgoing account?
Does that require a plug in or helper app of some sort.

Setting a category for mail object

Hello,
i have been trying to use the object api for setting a category on a selected mail.
After some research, my question is: Is this even possible with the object api and if so, how? :)
( i am using a C3PO and the ClientState.Selected Messages. I then convert the SelectedMessages into a MessageList and so on. I'm not sure if this is the correct way)

If I remember correctly, each GW account can define their own custom set
of categories in the GW Client or by ObjAPI.
So, either ..
* create a new Category definition in the GUI (right click on msg,
"categories" .. "more" .. "new category"), or
* use the ObjAPI: Account.CategoryDefinitions.Add( )
