Set up AirPrint

Hi all,
I have followed instructions from multiple sources abour connecting my Canon i-sensys MF4430 to an Airport Express so that I and my colleagues can print from iMac, Air, iPhone and iPad when in the office.  I can't for the life of me get the Canon to work...I've tried everything (I think) but always seem to fail.  Although I seem to be able to find the Canon there seems to be a hickup when selecting drivers as the MF4430 doesn't exist in the list.
I thought any printer could be connected to the Airport Express and I could then print from iPhone, Air, etc... was I simply wrong?  Does this mean I will need to buy a different printer?
Cheers
Mike

Unfortunately, just connecting a printer to the AirPort's USB port will not make it AirPrint ready. You should be able to share it out for OS X, Windows, or Linux clients, but not iOS ones without additional software.

  • How do you set up airprint on laserjet pro cp 1025nw

How do you set up airprint on HP Laserjet Pro CP 1025NW.  If you need e-mail address for the printer, who to get one/set that up?

    Hi NancyFOM,
You will need to install the firmware update for your printer in order to use AirPrint which can be found here:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=lj-86491-4&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
Just save the update to your computer and run it.  You will need to have the printer installed on the computer you are using to perform the update.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

  • We set up Airprint to our Xerox machine but we have codes set up so each department has to enter their code in before they print. Airprint will not work because we have the codes. Does any one know if there is a way to override this?

    Hello there-
Our Xerox rep helped us set up Airprint to our copier machine. We have department codes set up on our copier so when any one goes to copy or print something they need to punch their code in. Airprint will not work because we have those codes (something prints out to the copier saying error due to accounting codes being set up). Does anyone know if there is a way to override this on our ipads? Thank you!!

    Hi Nico,
if you want a local test/development setup of Oracle why don't you just install Oracle 11gR2 XE (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/express-edition/downloads/index.html) ?
If you install this you get a database, APEX (4.1), client etc all in one install, this includes a webserver (EPG) on port 8080 without having to configure anything. It's a simple next-next-next installation without much configuration.
If you would like to seperate database and software you can always do this later when you understand the concepts of database/control files etc.
If you would like to upgrade to APEX 4.2 you can download this afterwards and easily install this by running two scripts in SQL*Plus ( apexins.sql and apxldimg.sql ), just check the apex 4.2 installtion guid section EPG for this.
    Regards
    Bas
b.t.w. If you're running windows 7 - 64 bits just use the 32 bits XE for windows, might get some warnings but you should be able to install and run, good enough for test/dev

  • How to set up AirPrint on non wifi printer

HP just released a firmware update for my mp1212nf, which does not have wifi. What would be the step by step process t getting AirPrint going. I am using a comcast business class router, so the airport is in bridge mode. I cannot get the printer to obtain an ip address when it is hooked directly to the airport router and am wondering if it's the printer or the airport, because I've never used an airport in bridge mode and don't know if this setting prevents wired clients from joining the network.

This is what is required for AiPrint,

Please help me to set up Printer in iphone5.

Either the support document cited above is in error or (more likely) has just not been updated for IOS 8.
    It states that:
AirPrint printers connected to the USB port of an Apple AirPort Base Station or AirPort Time Capsule are not supported with AirPrint. Connect your AirPrint printer to your network using Wi-Fi, or connect it to a LAN port on your AirPort device using Ethernet.
I have an early HP LaserJet P1102w and found that it can be set up to work wirelessly even if it is connected by USB to either a MAC or Airport/Time Capsule.
The trick is to install it each way and label each in the system preferences accordingly,  (a separate icon for each version)
Examples: the wireless  HP P1102 - Air Print, the USB cabled HP P1102w - USB, and the Airport/TC HP P1102w - Airport (or TC or LAN name)
My iPhone 5s also found the HP1102w using AirPrint.
Additionally the wireless printer connection will display the printer Options and Supplies just like the USB wired connection -- the Airport/TC connection will not.
So even if you use the USB/Airport/TC route, you can still quickly switch to the wireless or USB to check the toner (or ink)
    Hope some find this useful.
    Equip:
HP P1102w (with latest firmware update from HP)
MacbookPro & Macbook Pro Retina (both running OSX 10.9.5 - Mavericks)
TimeCapsule (latest Airport Utility & Firmware)
    iPhone 5s ( iOS 8.0.2)

  • What setting do i need to set up airprint

what setting do i need to set up airprint

there's not really any set up to do. you have to be on the same network as an airprint enabled printer, then tap the arrow at the bottom of your screen and hit print, your phone will search for available printers and that's it.

  • Setting up AirPrint to Kodak

Has anyone set their iPhone 5 up to print from a Kodak all in one printer? Both devices are on the same network n on wifi but that's as far as I got with the set up advice page!!
    Aimie888

iOS devices can only print directly to AirPrint printers, and as of this writing no Kodak printers support AirPrint.
To print directly from an iPad / iPhone you will need an AirPrint compatible printer or another device to act as a print server. That can be a Mac computer running Printopia ($19.95 with free trial) or handyPrint (donation - supported). The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. Equivalent PC options exist but you're on your own finding them.
You can also buy this standalone print server:
    http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
These options enable you to use any printer available to your Mac, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades.
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device.

  • How to set up airprint with ipod touch 4g

So i have a brand new ipod touch 4g from september and i recently brought a new printer from the apple store which is called the
    epson stylus NX420
I just want to know if it is compatible with an ipod touch?

AirPrint won't work with the Epson.
It will only work with about 11 o 12 HP printers.
Check out the list on the Apple site under AirPrint...

  • Setting up airprint using Brother MFC 5910DW

    How?

Thank you - excellent response, and it worked.
Even though I bought this printer only last week, the firmware version was B.  The suggeested method of establishing the firmware version (pressing "*" and "#" would not work either, but I found the firmware version on the second line of the Network Configuration Report printout.
Even though the suggested method of upgrading the firmware is to use wired connection or USB, I had a good WiFi connection with the printer, and tried that.  The process took a couple of minutes, but proceeded smoothly, and AirPrint now works.
The Brother instructions for firmware upgrade were easy to follow.
    Once again, thanks.

You should not have to turn all your text into image files.  That makes the text unavailable for search engines to search and rank your site.  Give this a try:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

    There is a LaserJet 8100, OfficeJet 8100 and a Photosmart 8100.
That was how I saw it.

  • I have an IPad 2 and I cannot airprint...how do i do this

    Amarioneaux-
    See AirPrint 101 at <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356>.
If your printer is on Apple's list of AirPrint-Compatible printers and the printer is connected to the same WiFi as your iPad, the printer should appear as a choice when you try to print.
Apps that can print should have a small right or left turn arrow that brings up a menu with Print as a choice.
