Set up binary mode for backup over FTP

Hello!
I am about to set up the backup for Oracle DB from Tcode DB13.
My SAP systems are installed on Windows (64 Bit).
The backup data should be saved on the Unix-Samba share via FTP.
If I execute DB-Backup the backup is successful, BUT:
The file names are very strange e.g. S3FV1~6
The second problem is that the files will be written to the wrong directory
(I have set the path to "sap/backup" and the files will be written to "sap").
My question is:
I have heared about binary mode during backup procedure With which parameters in init<DBSID>.sap can I set up binary mode for the backup?
Which other FTP-server-parameters or settings in file init<DBSID>.sap are responsible for this issue?

You can use it to clone your internal HDD to your external one, and then clone your external one to your internal one after you erase (and write zeros to ensure everything is gone) using Disk utility (I can't vouch for the actual security of this, but 'apparently' if you do the highest setting it will be secure) after booting from an OS X DVD. This is depends on the drive having the ability to boot, however.
After you run Cabon Copy Cloner/Clone your HDD see if you can boot from the drive. (Hold option at startup). Unless there are issues with the specific drive model, your eMac should be able to boot from all FireWire devices.
I'm not sure where Tiger comes into this, however. (As you mention later in your post). The way I understand, you basically just want to erase zeros on your HDD and boot from it just as you acquired it (hence the cloning/re-cloning of the internal HDD).

Has somebody set the database ready for archiving, maybe some maxl has been run and the db has not been returned from read only mode.
Try running the following Maxl (change app.db to match your app/db)
alter database app.db end archive;

New-line Character for a file opened in BINARY mode for O/P

Can anybody please tell me how to put a new-line charcter for each record in a file opened in Binary mode for O/p. I cant use text mode for other reasons in my scenario.
DATA: l_outdata TYPE xstring.
OPEN DATASET file FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
Application logic to populate l_outdata
TRANSFER l_outdata TO file.
Any help, or attempt towards it will be duely rewarded,

but how will you decide, at which POSITION,
to put the new line character, if u have opened the file in binary mode.
2. However, if u know the exact positions(s),
u can use CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF
to insert the new line character,

Step 1: IP Address
Obtain a second IP address and add it to the NIC of your server.
Step 2: DNS
Add a DNS entry for That secondary IP address for the name we will want to use in the new FBA OWA Web site. I have chosen "testwebmail." Be sure there is a valid SSL certificate (recommended to have UC or SAN SSL certs) on the server Which has the
new name "testwebmail" that will be used in the certificate.
Step 3: New Web Site
Create a new web site in IIS on the Client Access Server and bind it to the new IP address used in step 1.
Step 4: Adding Exchange Virtual Directories
The web site has been created and bound to the secondary IP address of our server. Also the DNS record That will be used to access the OWA FBA new page was added to DNS. The next step is to go into EMS and begin adding our virtual directories for OWA and ECP.
Login to the Exchange server and open the Exchange Management Shell. Then run Get-Get-OWAVirtualDirectory and ECPVirtualDirectory to see the default OWA and ECP directories.
New-OWAVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://url/owa
New-ECPVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName FBA -InternalUrl https://url/ecp
Step 5: Configure the Virtual Directories
To configure the virtual directories we will disable FBA on the Default Web Site OWA and ECP virtual directories

Enable the Basic authentication via running the following command:

Based on my research on Host Header, it seems using Host Header can achive your goal.
More details on Host Headers:
1. Host headers let you assign more than one site to a
single IP address on a Web server.
2. To host more than one Web site on a Web server, you can assign a unique IP address to each Web site, designate a non-standard TCP port number for a Web site,
or use host headers. Of the three methods, it is more common to use host headers than to assign unique IP addresses to Web sites or to use non-standard TCP port numbers.

Please correct me if there is anything misunderstand.
However, Microsoft recommends creating the second OWA/ECP virtual directories in a new IIS web site with a different IP address, and using it for internal client access.

I need help with setting up time machine for backup

I would like help with setting up time machine for backup.

You will need an external hard drive (formatted for a Mac).
Then you plug it in and go to system preferences>time machine and select the external HD and turn it on.
The backups are automatic.

Setting up Time Capsule for backup only on existing wireless network

I have a wireless network already set up with a NetGear wireless router. Cable plugs into router, router connected via ethernet cable to my Power Mac G5 desktop, plus 2 PC laptops in the house also connect wirelessly to the home network via this router.
I want to set up Time Capsule as an external hard drive to back up all three computers -- I don't necessarily need to use it as a wireless router although i'm not opposed to that if it's easier to do it that way.
When i try to set it up using AirPort utility, i get the amber flashing light. Airport utility is able to discover the device, and then always asks if it's OK to switch networks. I've tried both "switch" and "don't switch"; either way when i try to set it up, AirPort utility stalls out on "Reading Time Capsule Configuration"; eventually giving me the error msg: "Base Station Error: AirPort Utility was unable to find your Apple wireless device."
All i want to do is mount it as an external hard drive so i can use Time Machine for backup, and be able to use it to also back up the PC laptops wirelessly. I need help in the following three areas:
1. How should I be physically connecting my devices if i want to do this? Which cables go in which ports? There is only one ethernet port on the back of my G5. The G5 can connect to the router either wirelessly OR via ethernet cable. I've tried G5-->Time Capsule-->Router, G5-->Router-->Time Capsule, Router-->G5 PLUS Router-->Time Capsule, and I've tried every variation on the regular ethernet and WAN ports. What's the right way to do this.
2. If i'm not setting up the TC as a Wireless Router, is AirPort utility even the right tool for setting it up? it seems to be confused by the two wireless networks and won't let me get past that point. Am I supposed to click "Switch" when it asks me to switch networks? Is there a way to just mount it as an external drive and bypass the AirPort utility setup entirely?
3. Once i get it set up so it's visible as an external drive and usable for Time Machine backup, how do i then make it available to the other PCs on the network so they can back up to it also?

You already have an existing wireless network.
You do not need to plug the Time Capsule into anything except power.
Set the Time Capsule to "Join an existing wireless network"...
That is all you need to do.
Then all the computers should see the Time Capsule.
If you can't see "Join an existing wireless network" in the choices, hold down on the option key and then click on the choices.
Give that a try.

NB300 unable to set to AHCI mode for SSD drive

Hi,
I have a Toshiba NB300 netbook, running Windows 8 Pro 32 bit, very happy with it!
I have a Corsair Force 3 112GB SSD drive installed, and everything seems to be running very nicely!
Reading up on SSD drives I see that for best performance I should be running the SSD in AHCI mode.
So I went to the Setup menu on start up and changed from Compatibility mode to AHCI.
I've actually tried this a few times, always with the same result, failure!
When the system attempts to boot I get a message saying a problem was encountered, and that
the sytem is trying to gather information.
The only solution is to go back into setup and reset to Compatibility mode.
The BIOS is up to date, and I just can't think of any way to resolve the issue.
I really would like to get the best performance I can on this net book.
I have a screen grab of the SSD drive details from Speccy, but I can't see a way of attaching it?
If any one can advise me on how to get AHCI mode up and going I would really appreciate it!

Unfortunately on this forum we dont have reports about SSD usage on NBs. I have NB520 and I would like to use SSD to but until now I didnt find the right one.
As far as I know by default BIOS is set to AHCI mode. Which OS have you installed? Original one that you got with your notebook or your own version? Have you installed Intels storage manager from Toshiba download page?

I am using CNIReport and I was wondering how to set a landscape mode when printting?

There is a property of the CNiReport object called "Orientation". You just set that property to Landscape using the enumeration provided in the CNiReport class. Here is an example with the full path to the enumeration value:

I have the dreaded cracking/popping right now and for whatever reason this goes away when I put my X-Fi into either Entertainment or Audio Creation mode.
Can I keep the settings in Entertainment mode and still have ALchemy give me EAX when I run Alchemy supported games?

I have no idea why Apple designs or implements anything the way they have or do.
The reason an App cannot do what you wish is in fact a specific feature of iOS. Apple's mobile device operating system disallows or at least severly restricts what core settings, features and functions 3rd party apps may alter or interact with. So the only way to do what you want would be if Apple developed and implemented it as part of iOS itself.

SANs solution for backup over Internet

I have a customer that is trying to set up a service to back up the DASD of a specific hardware type. He would like a small FC/IP gateway at each customer and something like a 9222i18/4 to aggregate in his data center. At one time, I thought Cisco made a FC card for a 7200 series router. Is there anything on a smaller platform that can be used? It would be nice to have compression to minimize bandwidth.

The PA-FC-1G is not longer sold or supported, there currently is not a smaller platform than the 9222i that will
support FCIP.

Open data set from Text mode to Binary mode

Hello All,
In a program i am using the command
    OPEN DATASET file FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE
    ENCODING NON-UNICODE IGNORING CONVERSION ERRORS.
Now i want to change this open data set to binary mode. I mean to change the command like below.
OPEN DATASET file FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
when i do this. the output in the file is totally changing. I mean previously i have some text now i have some diffrent characters.
How can i use this command with out change in the output as previous output. Please tell me the changes and why i have to do.

Text Mode means that the records in the file have a carriage return marking the end of each record.
Binary Mode means the file is a string of data.
You can't read a text file in BINARY MODE, or a binary file in TEXT MODE.
If you are changing the mode, then you must be supplied with a file in the new mode.

In the Rule Group..Click on any key Figure..
this pops u a window..in which u will find AGGREGATION ..Then u can select Either OVERWRITe or SUMMATION which suites ur requirement..

Read mode for querys

Hi,
I got a problem with a query whose read mode is currently "H".
When the Read mode is H the query is behaving diffrently. The query is being used in a workbook where profit cneter is dispalyed as hierarchy.
During the refresh of that query the nodes at the parent level are displayed whereas the nodes at the leaf level will be blank. If you try collapsing and expanding again the values will be displayed.
If the read mode is "X" then all the values are displayed at both parent level as well as leaf level.
But we are using Read mode as "H" for all the querys but we had no issues with other queries.
Now we got a problem with this query.
Any ideas will be appreciated!!

To prevent for accidentally deletion of master data, it is set into read mode for the developer. only guys who r designing the bw will usually have authorization to delte.From a company perspective, master data is important and should not be deleted or changed by any unathurosied users. only with valid authorization one can delete/change the master data
where as a cube, one can delete the contents by just deleting the request of the delta load
