Set up Business Connector within SAP ERP 2005

Hello!
Which SPRO-Activity is responsible for setting up Business Connector within SAP ERP 2005 (only ABAP-Stack)?
What is the effort should be regarded for this issue?
Thank you very much!
regards
Thom

Hi Tony,
are you using gcj from Red Hat as Java? You can check this by
rpm -qf `which java`
This should point to either Sun JDK 1.4.2 for i386 and IA64 or IBM JDK 1.4.2 for x86_64
Thanks,

  • IDES and other Clients in one SAP ERP 2005 System

    Hello everybody,
within a project for my master thesis i have to set up an SAP ERP 2005 System. This system should contain at least three clients. One of them should be the IDES client. Another client should be set up with an existing template. The third client should represent a smal company or at least i should set up some example process from the company (there is no need to map the whole company in the system). These processes should be realized with the SAP standard processes and they should just show how to map easy processes to SAP ERP. Neither the second nor the third client need to run in a productive environment, everything is just for training and testing.
    My main Questions are:
I've already set up the SAP ERP 2005 System but without IDES. Can I still integrate the IDES Content or do i have to reinstall the whole System with a complete IDES Installation?
Can I implement the second and third client in the same ERP System (where the IDES client is) or do i need different Systems for it? Even if there is no productive use for the clients we would like to have a Development and a Quality Landscape. Is this possible with the IDES client? Actually I have two fast machines for this purpose - one for quality and one for development.
I would be very grateful for any hints.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Martin

    Hi,
You can use SAP IDES as Dev and Quailty. There is no diffrence in full sap or IDES .In IDES we have some pree configure Clients and full Ecc we have three client 000,001 and 066.
So you can use SAP IDES as DEV.
Your Question :I've already set up the SAP ERP 2005 System but without IDES. Can I still integrate the IDES Content or do i have to reinstall the whole System with a complete IDES Installation?
Ans : you install diffrent mechine. We do't use any content.Do reinstall

  • Upgrade of SD to SAP ERP 2005,   FI stays on SAP R/3 4.0

    Hi,
There is a task to upgrade first the SD module to SAP ERP 2005,
but keep the FI module running on SAP R/3 4.0
Is it possible to implement it like this?
Have anyone been dealing with such distributed integration before?
    Best regards
    Maxim

Technically you can upgrade  , but SD is highly integrated with FI  like credit check , tax  etc . With the upgrade it might change the structure of table the link between both the system might effected. You should talk to the Functional consultants and they can give you the advice
    Thanks

  • Business Connector and sap router on same server?

    Hello,
We are investigating currently in order to install "Business Connector" and "Sap router" on a same dedicated server.
I would like to know if it is possible or not recommended, etc... if there are some guidelines.
If someone has experience in this solution.
    Many thanks for your help

I can't see a reason why not... any particular concerns?

  • Send IDOC from Business Connector to SAP faster

    Hi Developer!
I need to send a very lot of IDOC converted from XML files from the Business Connector to SAP. The XML files are in different directories pro business partner, but they have a same type (ISU_MSCONS).
My problem, that the import take a lot of time. Only in every 3 seconds (IDOC creation time) gets (or works up?) the SAP one IDOC. I start diferent services pro partner at the same time to import the IDOCs, but I couldnt short the 3 second work time in the SAP. So you can count it easy, that in 1 minute I can import 20, in 1 hour 1200, in 1 day 28800 IDOCs instead of 100.000.
It is really parallel import? Have anybody any idea to make the import more faster. I know (asked the SAP Administrator) so, one BC - SAP connection (Program_ID) has more pools (= threads) in the SAP at the same time.
    Thanks any help,
    Charlie

    Hi Satish,
    You can achieve this requirement
1)If your external system going to support web service cals then send IDoc from External system as a web service, in PI use sender side SOAP and receiver side IDoc receiver channel  to  send IDoc.
    or
2)Use proxy program ,implement the same ALE logic in PI.
      or
3)Copy the Extenal IDoc message in to file folder as XML,then use file adapter to pick up this message and send it SAP using IDoc.

  • SAP ERP 2005 installation in Cluster mode on Solaris Platform using LDoms

    Hello Gurus,
We want to install SAP ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0 SR3) on Solaris 10, (Solaris cluster 3.2). Please let me know the procedure.
What would be the basic steps or difference while performing installation. Also if anybody can give the mount point details in cluster mode will be the great help.
The installation will active-passive like CI and DB will be in the different system.
Also i would like to address that we will be using SUN's Logical domain i.e. we will install DB + Application 1 on one server and CI + Application 2 on second server.
In that case DB + CI will be in cluster mode, and App 1 and App 2 will act as load balancing.
Db is Oracle 10g and OS is Solaris 10.
If any other details you guys want, i will be glad to put here.
    Thanks & Regards,

I suggest you get a good Sun consultant on-site and discuss that with him. It would be a LOT to write here and there are always at least two possibilities of doing such an installation.
The normal installation guides cover the differences between a normal installation and an HA installation, on top there is a lot of documentation available at Sun (http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-2562) and also http://wikis.sun.com/display/BluePrints/UsingSolarisClusterandSunClusterGeographic+Edition

  • Development in JAVA within SAP ERP

    Hi folks,
i have a general question. My last attempt was testing a Java application which connects via JCo and RFC to an ABAP module and receives some table data or send some integers to that module.
The approach was to write a Java application that handles all the logic and then do some RFC's to get data within a SAP database table and then process this data in the Java application again.
After some beginner problems, everything is working fine now. But now i want to test 2 more approaches.
First, i want to do most of the logic in ABAP and just the most necessary in JAVA, is it possible to do a RFC from ABAP to call a JAVA module? (just the reverse direction as i tried it the last time).
Second, is it possible to deploy a Java application inside a SAP ERP system, that the application can access to all the SAP databases without using an ABAP RFC? I want to write everything in Java that i do not have to write a single line in ABAP but whithout having any limitations.
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards
    Felix

To get an idea how to call BAPI's or function modules via RFC from Java you could have a look [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/35/42e13d82fcfb34e10000000a114084/content.htm]. There are different versions of the JCo library, the latest one is 3. There are a host of other ways to connect to ERP, but this would be one way to do it from Java.
If you cannot work with the standard business objects in SAP, you could of course create Z-tables and custom function modules. BAPI's are the function modules already delivered by SAP, but you can always extend or build your own.
