Set Up Custom Email with OSX 10.9

The custom email setup box comes up with incorrect name and password.  Nothing we do changes it.  There are no instructions on how to enter the log-in information for an existing email account at our ISP.  What goes in which entry so the login occurs properly?  I need to know if the "Name" entry is the "user name" as in "jschmoe" in [email protected] and the "account" is "xyz.net" or the entire "email address"- [email protected]  Then why does the password not change, or is the custom email password the same as the "admin password" used at login?  The next time around examples would be very helpful in the setup window.  We tried "Help" but it wasn't helpful for this issue.

Without knowing who is the email provider I can't know which is correct, but there are only 2 choices so try both.

  • Setting Up Custom Email on the iPod Touch

Since the iPod touch does not allow you to use emails other than the ones provided (Gmail, dotMac, Yahoo, Exchange) — it's really a frustrating thing how you can receive emails but not send them unless it's one those types of email accounts. Thankfully, I've figured out a simple workaround by using Gmail to auto-forward the mail from your other accounts. That way you can send outgoing mail from the iPod touch perfectly. The reason outgoing mail didn't work before with your custom email accounts was that they needed the use of your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for the outgoing messages.

    Hello,
Yeah this is definitely a missing feature rather than a glitch. These mobile applications are a lot simpler than their OS X counterparts. Please leave feedback for Apple:

  • Setting up an email with BC

I am a creative cloud subscriber and I am working on my first Muse site and publishing it to business catalyst. I need to setup an email address with my clients domain and can't find anywhere that outlines how to do this. If anyone can help point me in the right direction I would appreciate it greatly! It's getting very frustrating! Thanks in advance.

With a Creative Cloud membership, you can host up to 5 sites through Business Catalyst, but they are offered at a WebBasics plan level. This plan does not include hosted email accounts. To be able to utilize this feature, you'll need to purchase at least a WebBasics+ membership to Business Catalyst.
You can review the different plan options for Business Catalyst here: http://www.adobe.com/products/business-catalyst/buying-guide-subscriptions.html

  • TS3899 trying to set up my email with my phone and it won't accept my email password

    Hi,
I'm trying to set up my email info on my phone and it won't accept my password form my hotmail account?? help

    Hi Guys
Thanks for all the input.   I guess I need to clarify my situation a little better.
I've always had a Blackberry and made the sitch last week.
My work email is merely a forward that our ISP handles.
So if you send me an email to [email protected] my ISP forwards it to my Gmail account.   Within Gmail I was able to set it up that any email I send or reply to comes from my [email protected]
Now that I have an iphone the game has changed.    Using Microsoft Exchange I set up my email and no problem sending or recieving but when I send an email or reply to an email its coming from [email protected] and I want it to be coming from my work address.
    Thanks again

  • Help setting up linksys E2500 with OSX 10.9.5 - no connection

I just received a new linksys E2500 router to set up with my RCN service.
My MacBook Pro is running OSX 10.9.5 and I know I cant use the linksys connect software to set it up but I am having no luck setting it up manually.  Neither my laptop or my phone (iPhone 5S) can see the router when it is plugged in. Trying to connect via 192.168.1.1 doesn't work - says there is no internet connection if wired to router, if hardwired to modem it just spins.  (I have tried via Safari, Firefox and Chrome)  When I hardwire modem-> computer my internet is fine. but when I connect router to modem and then hardwire from router to computer via ethernet ports, my laptop says nothing is connected via ethernet.
I have a technician from RCN coming later this week, but I really want to get this working sooner.  Any help would be appreciated!

Where did it say that?  Network Diagnostics?
First contact your ISP.  You need to confirm that the issue is not on their end.
Change your router channel.  Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router.  Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
    System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
    Unlock the padlock
    Locations:  Automatic
    Highlight Airport
    Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock.  Highlight Airport.  Network Name-select your name.  Click on the Advanced button.  Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."  Click the OK button and lock the padlock.  Restart your computer.

    No internet connection (wireless)
Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."

  • Help setting up BTinternet email with Apple Mail

    Hello everyone,
I need help setting up a btinternet email account with Apple's Mail sofware. I am setting it up on behalf of my aunt and uncles new macbook pro so I hope i get some solutions quick because Im leaving their place by the end of the weekend and I would love to have their email setup and teach them how to use it.
They have 2 btinternet email accounts, the first one they use alot as its their main email account which is currently setup on MS Outlook on their old computer. The secound one they use rarely and its not setup on MS Outlook.
Heres the problem, when I setup their main email account with apple mail, I have no problem creating the account however once created the inbox is empty - it does not load previous emails. It can send emails fine, if i send an email to the account using my personal email it will receive it but when I switch off the computer and switch it back on the mail box is empty. So I checked the email account by going to yahoo.co.uk and signing in - again even on the web page the mail box is empty.
I then setup the second btinternet  email account on Apple Mail shockingly this works perfectly all the old emails got loaded up in mail. So how do I do this for the main account, I know the difference is Outlook mail but I rather not delete that because if it doesnt work then they would lose all their old emails.
    Please help
    Thanks in advance
PS: ive setup my hotmail and yahoo accounts and they all work fine by the way

Please guys give me something or any random ideas u may have. im running out of time.

  • How can I set up Photo Stream with OSX 10.7.5 and iPhoto '09?

I am trying to set up Photo Stream and I would like to know what I need to do. I am running OSX 10.7.5 and iPhoto '09.  Thanks

You need to have 10.7.5 Lion for the basic iCloud or 10.8 Mountain Lion or 10.9 Mavericks for the full iCloud. While 10.7.5 Lion will allow you to access iCloud you will be limited unless you can upgrade to 10.8 Mountain Lion or 10.9 Mavericks.
    This is from Apple Support:
    Minimum operating system requirements
You may also use iCloud with the following operating system versions:
    Mac
OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later*
Note: Although you can use OS X Lion as noted above, you will not
be able to take advantage of some iCloud features, such as Shared Photo Streams, iCloud Tabs, Find My iPhone Lost Mode, Documents in the Cloud for iWork, and Find My Friends location-based alerts.

  • Does any one know how to set up runbox email with iphone

Does any one know how to set up my runbox email so that I can access it through my i phone?

Per this link, it appears you can access a runbox email account as an IMAP or POP account.
    http://www.runbox.com/
Are you currently accessing your runbox email account with the Mail.app or with another email client on your Mac?
If so, you should be able to use the same account settings used when creating the account with the email client on your Mac. If you are accessing the account with an email client on your Mac and you want to keep all server stored mailboxes for the account synchronized with the server with the email client on your Mac and with the iPhone's mail client, you should access the account as an IMAP account with both email clients.
If you are accessing the email account with the Mail.app on your Mac, you can transfer the account settings from your Mac to the iPhone's mail client via the iTunes sync process - which is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
I'm unable to open their support link with a failed to open page error message - looks like they have a scheduled downtime due to server park relocation so I assume this is affecting access to their support link.

  • How to create custom email with attachment in 1402

    Hi Guys,
Based on 1402 release notes. Custom E-Mails now possible with SAP Cloud Application Studio.
release notes also states the following:
Customers can enhance the e-mails delivered by SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense by adding their own content to the existing content, they can replace the content entirely, and create their own emails.
What's more, they can flexibly define e-mails to be triggered to suit their own requirements.
We have a requirement to replace the standard email notification and create a new one. Tried to browse the Cloud Application Studio 1402 guide but didn't find any.
Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks.

  • Business catalyst won't let me set up email  with .media extension

I have this domain - www.thinkchurch.media that I am using with a business catalyst hosted site. It will not let me set up an email with this domain for some reason even though I have the right hosting plan. It says, "This cannot be an email address."

    Hi Bradb725,
We currently have a bug that the email accounts doesn't allow email accounts with more recent domain extensions. File a ticket or reach out to LiveChat support with a list of mailboxes you want and we can create them from our back-end. You won't be able to see these mailboxes in our Email accounts interface, but they'll work properly once they're created from our backend.
    Thanks,

  • HT201320 Having trouble setting up Comcast email on my new iPad

I have tried several times to set up my email with Comcast on my new iPad with no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you get it to work.
    Thanks!

You do have the incoming mail server setting under Host Name as mail.comcast.net .... And your user name and password are correct?
Rather than try to adjust any settings and get deeper into a hole - why don't you delete the account and just start over again. Many times that's the best thing to do.
I would delete the account, restart the iPad and then add the account again.
