Set up email (gmail) with BELLE

I upgraded my E6 with BELLE OS. Since then, it is impossible to set up my gmail account. and it is impossible to downgrade to previous OS where it was working. So far, nobody from support team could help me. It is a very regrettable situation. when upgrading my stuff, i expect better experience than before, in this case, it is worse!

I'm also having trouble setting up my Gmail account since "upgrading" my N8 to Belle. After setting up my gmail account with [email protected] and an application-specific password (I've enabled 2-factor auth for my account) none of my messages are downloaded and my phone becomes completely unresponsive. To confirm it was still happening, I just set up my gmail account again and now my phone is unresponsive to all input (power, unlock slider, menu button, camera, touch screen). I will have to hold down the power button, wait for 3 vibrations, and then power it back up and delete my gmail account quickly before it becomes unresponsive again. In the mean time, I hope I'm not getting any phone calls.
Can I get my phone pushed back to Anna? She wasn't perfect but holy **bleep**, this is nuts. The only semi-useful feature of Belle is the pull down notifications bar, but that isn't valuable enough to put up with the rest of this. I wish I hadn't installed Belle. Better yet, I wish I had gone with an Android or a feature phone and hadn't listened to the Symbian fanbois. YAY 12MP CAMERA AND CARL ZEISS OPTICS. ain't doing much now...
I tried emailing customer support and their suggestion was to back up, factory reset the phone, reinstall Belle, and restore from backup. Ugh.

  • How do I re-set my email account with Virginmedia on iphone 4S?

Please help. I have been using my iphone 4s for the last 2 years and not had any problems in send and receiving emails. Suddenly this afternoon it has stopped working saying "cannot get mail. The user name and password for Virginmedia is incorrect". I called Virgin who went through deleting the account and setting it up again but it doesn't work although I can sign in online with the same user name & password. Can someone help please? Thanks.

Are you talking about previous use of a MobilMe account?  If so, did you not see all the year long publicity about the transition to iCloud?  See:

  • I recieved an email(gmail) with a jpeg attachement, i can view it but how do I save it to add to a presentation...I just got an ipad 1 and its my first MAC experience s i have a big learning curve.  Thanks

    help please

This is off the top of my head, but here goes.
I'm assuming you have Keynote on the iPad.
1- in Mail, press and hold on the image. You should see a pop up that'll say something along the lines of "Save Image". Press Save Image
2- As a sanity check, open the Photos app and look under the album/event "camera roll" or 'saved photos' Make sure said photo is there.
3-In Keynote with a preso open, press the little Picture icon in the upper right. From there, choose "media" choose the 'saved photos' or camera roll' album and then the image.

  • ICloud Calendar email invitations with my personal email domain

    Hi,
I want to send the invitations of the calendar of iCloud with my work email, with the domain of my company @espero.it (and not with mail @me.com, @mac.com or @gmail.com).
I try to set my apple account just with this email address, but the invitations now send with the domain @mac.com and not with the email of my account... If I set the email address with @gmail.com it works...
why? can't I send with my domain??

now it works: the invitations of calendar are send with my personal domain.
But there's another big problem: the invitations that I send to another user that have an email with my same domain ([email protected] to [email protected]) don't arrive, but are blocked by the mailserver, for security...
If in iCloud Calendar I could add the authenticatin-data of my email account, iCloud can send the invitations with authentication, and so my mail-server doesn't block!!

  • Cannot send gmail with attachments v5.3

Recently I have been unable to send any email (gmail) with attachment of any size or format, Mail tries for a few seconds and then I get a pop up to say unable to send with the server Gmail.  Never had a problem before, I have tried to resend some emails with attachments but these get the same response.
Have tried a different Browser, have tried sending direct from Gmail but all the same.  Have rebuilt, have run 'Maintenance' but nothing still, I am getting to the point of hair pulling.
Oh, 'Connection Doctor' shows no problems, file size is immaterial, I have changed no settings in Mail or Gmail.
Am running 10.7.5 Lion on my imac wit mail 5.3.
Any ideas?  Please be detailed with any replies because although I am not a newbie I am certainly not a Apple Genius!!!!!!

    Hey SundanceFoto,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
What size attachments have you tried to send?  Also have you tried connecting to a Wi-Fi network to send the emails? Also what type of attachments have you tried to send?
Usually if you get a clock beside any message, it means the message is awaiting a data connection from your network service provider.
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • Setting up email with Gmail with Muse site hosted on BC

Help! I am new to all of this so any help is appreciated! Here is my problem:
Bought Domain name from GoDaddy, threw up a jpeg placeholder, and set up emails using gmail. All worked fine.
I designed a site in Muse, took down the jpeg thru Godaddy, and am now hosting site through Business Catalyst. Now when I try to email something to this address, it gets kicked back with this message:
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
        [email protected]
    Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain consigningwomensc.com by mx.consigningwomensc.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com. [64.98.36.4].
The error that the other server returned was:
554 5.7.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: user [email protected] does not exist
I can log into gmail and send from that account (I am the administrator)  but I can't send TO the account without getting a kickback.
Can anyone shed some light or some guidance for this issue before my client notices!?
    Thanks!

The domain consigningwomensc.com is redelegated to BC and the MX records are setup to point to our mail servers (which is invalid because you cannot create email accounts in free Creative cloud sites as those are webBasics) and hence the email bounced as the mail account doesn't exist at our end.
I believe you're using Google apps for your email accounts so what you need to do here is to login to your site admin and delete the current MX record and re-create the MX through the More Actions tab while choosing "Use your Google Apps account for email".
    Thanks,
    Vinayak

  • I am having email problems with the new Lion.  stmp, imap, etc. I have looked up google info and It is confusing when it comes to TS, SSL also, please explain how to set it up so my email goes out and comes in securely.  Help

I am having email problems with the new Mountain Lion.  stmp, imap, etc. I have looked up google info and It is confusing when it comes to TS, SSL also, please explain how to set it up so my email goes out and comes in securely.  Help
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - requires SSL:
    imap.gmail.com
    Use SSL: Yes
    Port: 993
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS:
    smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
    Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
    Port: 465 or 587
    Account Name:
your full email address (including @gmail.com) Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com
    Email Address:
your full Gmail email address ([email protected]) Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com
    Password:
    your Gmail password
    The Quick Answer
Follow the instructions below to set up IMAP1 access in most email clients.
Google Apps users, please follow the default instructions unless otherwise noted, replacing 'your_domain.com' with your actual domain2 name.
this is all greek to me. WHAT IS STARTTLS? On the first page of Apple set up there is a TLS certificate and it is marked NONE- should I change it to the long APPLE CERT option?  The next page under ADVANCED: THERE IS A BOX SSL MARKED.  Then IMAP Path Prefix - I put stmp.gmail.com.. is that right?  Port 993 can  use this one? as 456 doesn't work and 587 said it wasn't safe.  Under AUTHENTICATION I used PASSWORD.  Should I have used external client cert TLS?
Please help me set this up securely. Thanks

Hi uneleashurself and thanks for your answer.
Forgive my language but getting to talk to the Safaricom customer service is a real pain in the **bleep** - if you ever get to talk to them, that is.
I've never got an answer to my phone calls in three years and their customer assistans in the shops usually have no clue about whatever it is you're asking them.
I talked to a few of them in a couple of different Safaricom shops and they didn't know what I was talking about.
Still, I believe Safaricom is not the problem as other people I know who have a BlackBerry on Safaricom haven't experienced this problem.

My icloud email address is included in a friend's address group set up in Gmail.  When they send an email to the group, the email never gets through to my icloud address - why?

They've always been able to send to me individually - just not when my email is part of a group or even when it's just included with several other addresses added one at a time.

  • Cannot set up email or gmail

I have been given the curve 8900 by my brother it was locked to vodaphone and is now unlocked, when it comes to setting up email I only have the blackberry enterprise server option. I want the device to download email when attached to a wireless netwrok and so I would like to set up a pop3 email app - can this be done?
I also understand that there should be a gmail app that I can use as I also have a gmail account - but I seem to be going around in circles and most posts are discussing setting up data packages with their carrier.
I just want email when connected to WiFi - any ideas would be gratefully received.

It is inaccurate to compare the way BB's do email with the way others do it...rather, contrasting the different methods is a better approach. Others use an on-device email client. BB's do not have that...rather, they use BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service -- hosted at the carriers/RIM) as the intermediary between the BB and the various email services that you configure. You store, into BIS, your email credentials. BIS then can check for new stuff without generating any traffic to the BB (unless there is new stuff that needs to be delivered to the BB). Other devices, since they are an on-device email client, must generate traffic over the carrier network even for the act of checking for new email (even if there is nothing new). This is how BB's achieve, from the perspective of the BB, true PUSH email. And, for that enhanced functionality, you must subscribe to a data plan. Even if you are using WiFi as the transport path, you are still needing to use the carrier hosted BIS infrastructure...hence, the need even then to subscribe to the proper plan level.
That said, you might be able to use the add-on gmail client via WiFi only...I've never attempted just that, but I know it works over WiFi. For other email services, you'd have to investigate alternate methods for accessing them that does not use BIS. But, the native email app on BB's requires BIS.
It is unfortunate that your early assumptions about how BB's handle email turned out to be inaccurate. Hopefully your carrier will work with you to get you something that functions in the manner you desire.
    Good luck!
