Set up exchange account?

I am trying unsuccessfully to set up an exchange account to sync my contacts. Help!

Are you trying to set up your Gmail as an Exchange account? Google dropped Exchange support for free Gmail accounts as of 30 January 2013. You'll need to use a CardDAV account instead:

I can't set up exchange account in outlook 2011 automatically. who can help me out?
and how can know whether the account has been added successfully?

If you can't add it automatically, you probably need some help from your company's helpdesk.  It would be best to contact them because they may have some settings that are specific to their environment.

    Hi Guys,

By googling, I found many have got it up & apple may fix it in it next iOS udpate.

  • Cannot Set Up Exchange Account in Windows 8/8.1 Mail App - Need to turn off SSL

    Hi there,
The office I work at is currently running an Exchange 2003 server for mail, and for reasons unknown, it isn't using an SSL certificate.  That will
be changing some time in the near future, but as a result, I can't set up an email profile for this Exchange account on the Mail app.  On all the various phones I've had (I've used all 3 major mobile platforms), I've been able to uncheck "Use SSL"
in the initial setup settings, or upon failure to connect to the mail server, save the profile I set up, and uncover more settings after saving that allowed me to turn off SSL.  This isn't the case for the Windows 8/8.1 Mail app.  I can't turn off
SSL for Exchange in the initial setup part, and I upon failure to connect to the server, cannot save the mail profile.
Don't get me started on Outlook 2013...our server is too old for it and therefore incompatible, which somewhat unforgivingly bricks the program and requires a multi-step repair...
So is there any way to fix or get around this SSL setup issue (other than the obvious solution of our IT guys putting on an SSL certificate)?
    Thanks!

    Hi
I have seen exchange 2003 not working well with the windows 8.1 mail app. generally you would install the cert from exchange 2003 on your pc and mail should work...

  • I set my Exchange account up and it won't connect to any of the other apps

I reccently set up my exchange email account on my laptop and I can get and send emails from the account, but the laptop won't let me connect the exchange account with my calender, contacts, reminders, notes, safari, facetime, or any of the other apps on my laptop. It always asks me for my password and when I put it in it still says it can't connect to the exchange account. Why won't it let me connect my exchange account to my laptop apps?

When ever I try and login to my exchange account on Safari it says it can't connect to the account to the account and to call the administrator, but then i tried tologin again and it worked. Anyway I then tried my contacts and it is still not working.

  • Setting up Exchange Account: "Unable to Verify Information"

I'm trying to set up my work email on my phone.  I followed the steps my IT guy told me to do exactly.  All the account information has been double & triple checked, yet I keep getting this error message pop-up: "Exchange Account: Unable to Verify Information".
    Settings:
    Email: firstname.lastname@****.com
    Server:  webmail.****.com
Domain: (triple checked and have this correct)
    Username: firstname.lastname
    Passord: ***** (again, triple checked)
Use SSL: set to "ON" but I tried it "off" as well.
I have a passcode set up, so that's not the issue either.
I just updated my iPhone software.  Turned it off, turned it back on.  Deleted the Exchange Account and tried to set it up again, and nothing is working.  One of my coworkers just got her's to work on her iPhone by following the same instructions... I don't have a clue what the issue could be.  I think the IT guy is stumped as well, and he's over burdened at the moment so I don't know when I'll be able to get his help...
    Can anyone help me?

Go to the OWA access on the web and verify credentials, also find out which version of Exchange this is (I am guessing not 2003 as that was before OWA)
Try substituting Mail for Webmail in the server address
Try this change with and without domain info.
Save the account in its various stages, I have had them fail to verify and then work.

  • Setting up Exchange account on iPad

I use a gmail address and set up an Exchange on my iPhone, it works.
I set it up exactly the same on iPad and nothing shows up in Mail
I deleted the Exchange account and added it again, four times.
    I rebooted the phone
I held iPhone up next to iPad to make sure I was doing it the same way
    Does it work on iPad?
I'm up to date on both devices.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks!

The passcode is a requirement set by the administrator of the Exchange server you are connecting to.
It is purely for security purposes.
If you do not want the passcode, you must remove the Exchange account. There is no way around it.

  • Lost. Help Needed. Setting up Exchange Account on iPhone

    Hello all
Long story short - I'm trying to set up my fathers exchange account on his brand new iPhone.
I have his username, password and what I believe to be the server - mbx2.exchprod.usa.net
After 'verifying Exchange account information' on the first account creation screen, I proceed to 'Enter your Exchange account information'
Entering, mbx2.exchprod.usa.net into the serve field and clicking next gives me the 'Exchange accoutn verification failed.
Any help would be greeeatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Stuart

Does the company that hosts the Exchange account allow users to connect with their iPhones. It isn't as simple as knowing the settings, they have to allow it and the Exchange admin have to setup certain things on the mail servers.
If they don't have ActiveSync (what is needed by them), do they offer IMAP or POP access instead?

  • Problems with setting up Exchange account in Outlook

    Hi,
I have a problem with trying to connect my Exchange account on Outlook for mac, a message keeps popping up every time I try to add my exchange account. It says "outlook was redirected to the server auto discover-s.outlook.com to get new settings for your account". Even if I choose to allow the server to configure my settings nothing ever happens and I cant receive or send any mail. I tried to give the server name in the advanced settings bot that did not help either. Could someone please help me out?

  • Set up exchange account in apple mail 2.0.5

    hi-
we have a user who is the only mac in a windows network environment. he is currently using pop3 to access email from our exchange 2003 server, but now he would like to start using Exchange for access. all of his settings look right, although when apple Mail tries to connect to the exchange server, an error comes up:
"Connection Failed. There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account "Exchange Account" or try again. The server error encountered was: The server "server.domain.com" refused to allow a connection on port 143"
also, in the mail connection doctor an error says:
"Could not connect to this Exchange server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences."
can anyone help? should i be changing any settings on the server, or using Entourage or IMAP? what do you guys think?
    thanks a bunch - i appreciate it!!

  • Setting up Exchange Account with Mail

    Hello all.
Really want to start getting my work e-mail without loggin in via OWA.
I can't however get past the Incoming Mail Server section in the account setup. I'm not sure what to put into the *Incoming Mail Server* and *Outlook Web Acess Server* Boxes.
I access the outlook web acess via http://server.companyname.com/exchange
I've tried lots of combinations but just get the ' Exchanger server ..com is not responding check etc.."
    What format should it be?
    Thanks

Apple Mail is supposed to access the Exchange server via OWA. I do have Entourage loaded, and it works fine. I also have Evolution running on my Ubuntu 7.10 laptop which also uses the Exchange OWA to pickup my work e-mail.
For the life of me, I cannot get Apple Mail to pickup my e-mail on the Exchange server. I am sure it's just a configuration issue since both Entourage and Evolution work.

  • Problem with MS Exchange Account Set-Up

I receive an error message when trying to set up Exchange account on my iPad2: "Unable to verify account information", even though I enter my correct Comcast email address and user name.  I've aso tried my Apple username, but that doesn't work either.

I found this online. Same ? was asked to a comcast support rep(or Techhelp?)....
    Customer :
Thanks-this is the screen settings that I have on my IPod Touch, but the screen on my IPhone is an Exchange screen. How do I get this screen on my IPhone?
    i-cubed :
You will want to select "Other" at the bottom (right below "Mobile Me".
    i-cubed :
Do you happen to know what version of iOS your phone is running?
    Customer :
Not sure what iOS means (I'm over 40 and technically challenged! :-)), but I have the IPhone 4, 3 G
    i-cubed :
In the SETTINGS area, there is a 'button' called GENERAL. When you click that, you should see ABOUT. On the ABOUT page, there is an entry called 'Version'. Hopefully it is either a 4 version of 5 version.
    Customer :
    version 5.0.1
    i-cubed :
Good. Let me check something a minute ...
    Customer :
It worked! Thanks! Should I follow the same instructions to enable my IPod Touch to send email messages?
    i-cubed :
Yes. Let me get you the screenhsot for the SMTP server for outgoing mail. Comcast uses a non-standard port for this, though IOS 5 has been usually smart enough to auto detect it.

  • Multiple exchange accounts in iCal

I have two accounts on the same exchange server.  Two  different emails and calendars.  I can get one account to work and the other will not.  I have read that you need to make sure that the email account must show up in the active directory and it does.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    cwb

I've found the same problem in OS X Lion, with Mail, iCal and Address Book getting confused when two Exchange accounts on the same server are configured, resulting in either missing or duplicate entries (despite everything appearing fine when accessing the accounts individually via Outlook or OWA).  iOS doesn't have any problem with this setup; two Exchange accounts on the same server work perfectly; the issue seems specific to Mac OS X.
After some experimentation I've found a workaround.  Since the issue crops up with two Exchange accounts on the same server, it seems possible to trick OS X into thinking the accounts are on two separate servers through a little DNS manipulation (which I realize may not be a practical option for everyone).  Here's what resolved the issue for me:
My external and internal DNS FQDNs for the mail server were mail.mydomain.com.
    I set up a new DNS entry - mail2.mydomain.com - as a CNAME for mail.mydomain.com.
On my Mac, I set up Exchange account #1 with the server set to mail.mydomain.com.
I then set up Exchange account #2 with the server set to mail2.mydomain.com.
Even though both FQDNs resolve to the same IP, this seems sufficient for Mac OS X to consider them as separate servers, elliminating the problems I had before when I set both Exchange accounts to the same mail server FQDN.
I've only tried this on OS X 10.7 Lion, and the recent 10.7.1 update, although I wouldn't be surprised if the same trick works for earlier versions of OS X.

  • Exchange Account setup

I've got a feeling I'm simply nitpicking here, but....
I'm having issues setting up my Exchange account on my iPad (and iTouch). The only way I can get it set up is by going through my companies OWA server (webmail.company.com). I've tried entering the server I use at work (cty-52N-EXM01D.abc.acme.com), but just get the "Unable to Verify" message
FWIW, I'm almost certain my companies IT Dept considers the iPad - and anything else from Apple - to be a toy.

I attempted to set up exchange account and 8 out of 10 times get the cannot verify account error message.
When I clear the cache from network settings I get the option to accept certificate. The set up completes but I get no mail, contacts, nor anything Outlook related.
I wish I didn't order 10 of these things already. I have an $8000 pile of crap on my desk.
    Has anyone a solution?

I'm having a similar problem, but I do have the key and is not working anyway.
My old pc was running on windows 7 and my new one is an apple running on Lion.
My phone is an Iphone IV and I can see all the bookmarks there.
In order to sync, what I did was click on the "I don't have the device with me", I entered the key that was provided and the process finish ok. It says congratulations, etc, etc.
But the bookmarks are not there, I tried merging data and replacing data on this computer options but is the same.
    Any suggestions?
