My ical on a new iMac doesn't fill from my icloud calendar, yet icloud is added as a calendar on it.

Advice needed please.
My current iPhone 5s on ios8.1 is backed up to iCloud and I will soon need to set up a second 5s but will be in a country with very slow internet and intermittent connection and no access to my iTunes.
What I would like to do is to activate the second phone over wifi but only set it up using the native Apple apps and my contacts from my iCloud backup so as to save time in downloading.
Is it possible when choosing to set the phone up using an existing iCloud backup to select what apps / content is downloaded or the only option to download the full backup? I have set up phones before using iCloud backups but cannot recall whether there was an option to be selective as to what was downloaded.That is great, many thanks
It is only the unreliability as to to long it will be before the internet connection drops that I want to do it this way.

my iphone and ipad 2 have the correct ical, icloud also has the correct ical, how can i get my imac to sync from them?
Use iCloud to sync the calendar between your MacBookPro and your iPad.

Restoring new mini from icloud backup: how do you suppress multiple itunes accounts
I am setting up my wife's mini. We backed up her iPad gen 3 to iCloud. When setting up mini from icloud it askes for passwords for iTunes accounts belonging to son and daughter. They used their accounts to load apps fr me on my iPad. I do not have their passwords. How do I suppress the accounts on iPad so it does not try to retstore the apps they bought for me. Thanks.
Your title and the text in the post say two different things.
Your title says you are restoring from an iCloud backup.
Your post says you are doing an "iCloud installation". Admittedly, I don't know exactly what that means.
Please describe the exact symptom(s) you are observing, and whether whatever activity that is under way is providing evidence of proceeding. -
Just got iPhone 5. Tried to restore from the icloud . 10% into the restore I got bumped off the system do to band with, now I have 2 different backup accounts on icloud and no option to complete the restore seems apparent ? *** did they not test this thing. You would think with all the millions of people doing what I'm doing this week this process would work seamlessly simple. Even for a dope like me? Am I missing something?
I spoke to apple advisor and she said that it would not update as long as you reset through the tablets general reset erase all contents then when setting up download from icloud.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs. -
Move contacts/ical from "mobileMe iCloud" to new iCloud

For years I had a mobileMe account and a different iTunes account -so 2 apple ID's.
Now I want to use my iTunes apple ID and have already made an icloud for this. I have also moved my MobileMe acount and therefor have to clouds.
Hov can I move my contacts and iCal from my old Mobileme (now iCloud) to my iCloud that I use for iTunes??
By other words; I only want ONE I cloud.

1. You can manually copy the calendars and contacts to your new iCloud account by setting up your MobileMe iCloud account in Mail, Contacts, Calendars prefs on the mac. Then just copy the calendars in iCal or Address Book contacts to the other account.
2. You can just sign in with both accounts. This seems like the best option. On your devices, just set up the first iCloud account as your iTunes account, and then set up ANOTHER iCloud account for the contacts and calendars. You are allowed to have multiple accounts signed in at once but you can only use one for purchases and photostream etc (which will be your iTunes account).
The merging of both accounts is not possible at the moment. -
ICal & Address Book Not Updating from iCloud
I updated everything Apple throughout the day today, including my iPhone & MacBook Pro. I now have iOS 5 on my iPhone 4, OS X 10.7.2 on my MacBook, and all the apps associated with those 2 have been updated as well. I have iCloud set up on both my iPhone and MacBook. From what I understood from the demonstrations and ads about iCloud, when I add a calendar entry or change an address book entry on my iPhone, it will immediately be updated on my MacBook. I tried adding an event on my iPhone after everything was set up, and 4 hours later, it still is not showing up on my MacBook. The address book entry that I changed is also not showing up on my MacBook. Photo Stream is set up and running on both my MacBook and iPhone, so I know my credentials are entered correctly. I have Address Book and iCal checked in the options to be a part of iCloud on my MacBook, so it appears that everything should be staying in sync.
Any ideas why the changes on my iPhone would not be showing up immediately on my MacBook?

In Apple/System Preferences/Internet/Wireless, connect to iCloud account.
1. In iCal/Preferences/Accounts, add iCloud.
2. In iCalPreferences/General, change the default calendar and reminder group to ones from iCloud, otherwise adding new appointments in iCal will default to the On My Mac calendar and they not show up in the iCloud calendar.
3. In iCal/Calendars deselect the On My Mac calendars.
4. To get subscriptions back, go to each of the subscriptions under iCal/Calendars and select Get Info then change the location from On My Mac to iCloud. -

Within this commonfiles\apple folder, there is only one folder, labeled "Internet Services." Within this folder, there are 6 folders, labeled:
APLZOD.resources
BookmarkDAV_client.resources
CoreDAV.resources
iCloud.resources
iCloudServices.resources
ShellStreams.resources
Within all but CoreDAV and BookmarkDAV_client, there are multiple different folders, all labeled starting with a two letter (acronym I believe, for different languages) then .lproj (for example, a folder is labeled "ar.lproj".
In each of the folders of APLZOD.resources, there is a file labeled "APLZODlocalized.dll."
In all of the folders containing the multiple .lproj folders, there are likewise "name"localized.dll files contained.
In the BookmarkDAV_client and Core DAV folders, they each contain only one file, "Info.plist"
I attempted to delete all of these files, and still, the FileAssassin could not delete them. I unlocked one of them for instance, and I tried to delete the file myself (thru windows explorer and just clicking delete), and I still had the same issue of coming eventually to the window requesting me to "try again" to have permission.
What can I do?? I'd like to avoid Unlocker, but if it really is a reliable and SAFE program, and someone knows a SAFE place to download it from, I'd appreciate it very much so!!

In the set-up process I clicked "set up as new phone" when I should have clicked "back up from icloud". I can't use itunes for the back up as it is not current. Is there a way to get back into setup? If I click "delete accout" in icloud management will it clear just my phone (so I can start over) or will it actually delete my icloud?
Settings>General, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Reset, choose to delete all data. Then attach to itunes and choose to perform a restore. You'll get the option to restore from icloud.

Need help setting up 3 different iCloud accounts for my kids (so each has own iMessanger)using same Apple ID (mine) ....they don't have their own separate email addresses to work from...how do I do this?
Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account. For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud). -
Last night as I was setting up the pin I got distracted and entered the wrong one, now I can't access my phone as I don't know what I entered. Is there anyway around this or do I have to wipe my phone and sign in with my Apple ID and restore from icloud??
I can't ask for help on chat as I'm away from home and don't have the box with me, and obviously can't get the serial number in my phone as I've locked myself out!!

Whats my next move as I CANNOT use the ipas at the moment!!!!!!!!Your iPhone's iOS must be same or newer than the one in backups. In your case it is older so you need to update your iPhone and then recover it with backup.
