Set Up Internet to Multi~Computers

I was curious if it was possible for me to do this:
I have my MBP hooked to the internet through Airport connecting to a Linksys Router, my connection is great and get great speeds. I have a friend staying with me for a few days and they have a Windoze Box that will be hooked up beside my MBP, however the Windoze Box does not have a wireless card and I have the Modem / Router on another floor of the house.
Now what I want to do is get internet to the Windoze Box from my MBP. I have another router (DLink) and I was wanting to use it as a Hub, hooking the ethernet cable from my MBP to the DLINK, back out, to the Windoze box.
Will this work? Is there an easier way to do this? (Ethernet from MBP straight into Windoze Ethernet port)
Any help would be great.

Hi,
There's no need to buy hardware to accomplish this. MacOS X has a feature analogous to, but less limited than, the ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) in Windows. To activate it:
- System Preferences
-> Sharing
--> Internet (tab)
--- Select AirPort from the pop-up menu
--- Select the Built-In Ethernet check-box in the table / list
Connect your friends PC to your Mac via an Ethernet hub or directly using a cross-over Ethernet cable. Now you Mac will forward network traffic to and from computers on the Ethernet side over to the wireless side and the Internet.

I am trying to set up Sharing amongst several computers on my home network. I have followed all the setup instructions but after completion Sharing does not appear in my iTunes window (on any of the computers I've set up). There is no explanation why.

I have been trying to set up Sharing between two computers on my network. I did this once and it worked. However, when I try to set this up now the Sharing feature does not appear on the left side of the iTunes window (on either computer). There is no explanation as to why not. Is this a configuration problem, a network problem or what? Can it be fixed? I have tried turning sharing off and back on on both computers but to no avail. What am I missing? Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.

How can I stop Firefox from re-setting its internet connection configuration every time I re-open the browser? It should stay at "no proxy" but doesn't.

In the past couple of days, every time I close Firefox 8.0, it re-sets the internet configuration to "manual configuration" -- which generates a "proxy server refusing connections" error message. I have to re-set to "no proxy" every time I re-open the browser. This never happened before yesterday. What can I do to make the "no proxy" setting an automatic default on opening? ISP is Verizon high-speed.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Music and Video on Nas in folders but how do i set up itunes on multiple computers to see and use these files and create libraries?
So i have had a itunes set up on my old PC, bought a NAS and copied the folders over to the NAS, i did this incorrectly and so then even when i told the old PC to use that folder it saw all the songs but wasnt able to play the songs as it was looking in the incorrect place.
So now i want my Mac as well as my PC and others to all use the music, videos etc on the NAS they are in itunes friendly folders (as they were compiled this way by the itunes on the old PC.
When i tell the mac to use the itunes library.itl file it sees the song list (about 100gb) but cant see any songs, so i have removed this file to another location for now with the hope to set up a new file and then get it to see the songs on the folder from the NAS.
Can someone tell me how to do this for all the Mac's and PC's on my network as i really want one master library that all use and add too.

I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit), Internet Explorer 9 and Adobe Reader IX (v.11.0.00).
I would like to set up Internet Explorer 9 to show pdf-files in Adobe Reader program windows instead of viewing pdf-files within the web browser. Adobe Reader IX doesn't have the setting "Display pdf-files in browser" any longer, earlier versions of Adobe reader did have that setting.

Set up Internet E-mail

I'm trying to Set up Internet Email address but it's impossible. I received message:
"Bad Gateway
The gateway revived an invalid response from the server when attempting to fulfill your request."
I have T-mobile but my phone originally was from At&T. It's unlocked. When it's start going to Set up that account it's starting at&t browser not blackberry browser. I assume that might be a problem.
I don't know how to fix it.

What does setting the internet zone security level to high actually do?

I was asked to set the Internet zone security level to high via a GPO, this has been done for a test group of users. The setting has been confirmed, but as far as I can see it has not actually done anything.
Can anyone tell me what changes I should see to the behavior and/or access of websites now the security level is set to high?

Welcme to the Forums -- have you tried a battery pull - leavin off about 30 seconds then replacing it?
Also if you go to your main screen to hit MENU key and show all - do you see it hidden somewhere? What about behind another icon?

My requirement is to push data of a grid to Excel by clicking a button. I have written code in javascript. But if the option in Internet Explorer "Initialize and script controls not marked as safe" is disabled , i am not able to push data to Excel.
It is possible only this option is enabled.
So tried to push data by write code: document.appletname.saveAsCSVFile();
But i am not getting data in Excel in correct format.
It is coming as : first row: Column name1, " column name 2",...
2nd row: value1, "value2",.....
Any ideas on this?

It depends upon how the other machines are connecting to your MBA:
If the the other machines are also using wi-fi, they can connect directly to the wireless access point (router) without going through your MBA
If the other machines are connecting to the MBA using ethernet you can share your wi-fi connection to them

I am able to set up wireless for my Mac book air but I am looking to set up internet (same as I have with my iPad). Is it possible?

Have you got Home Sharing set up (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819) ? i.e. he may be viewing the content from your computer, not on the actual iPad. If that is the case (which would explain to me him being able to access the videos via the iPod app), then the Restrictions settings that I've already mentioned should also work on that 'remote' content.
Edit : your last reply appeared whilst I was typing/checking this. And no, the Videos/iPod apps can't be passcode protected, you will need to go back into Restrictions and remove the restriction, or if the films are only on your computer and not on the iPad itself you could turn off home sharing on the iPad whilst he's playing the games : Settings > iPod and tap on your account id and/or password on the right under Home Sharing and delete it/ them (re-enter them when you want to re-enable it).

Hi all - Set up my time capsule and got the wi-fi working for my computer. Now trying to set up internet on my new ipad and have seen that I need to download the airport app onto my ipad. Problem is -- I don't have internet for my ipad so I can't download the app. Advice? (Other than . . . go somewhere w/internet)? Thanks!

You do not need the app. The TC can be setup and is setup from what you have stated.. the ipad should get internet as soon as it connects.
If you have issues.. please try the following.. setting it up from your computer.
Use SMB compatible name for wireless ie short no spaces. .pure alphanumeric.
Use fixed radio channels.. as the ipad seems to not like auto rotating channels.. fix 2.4ghz to channel 1, 6, 11 in turn.. pick the one that works best.
