Set up iPad- Sits idle when connecting to iTunes - suggestions?
Set up iPad. Have updated my iPad and have backed up all to iTunes. iPad ask to set up iPad, select language, country, choose a wi-fi network, then select "set up as a new iPad", "restore from iCloud backup", "restore from iTunes backup". I selected restore from iTunes backup, next screen states "Connect to iTunes" it sits in that screen idle nothing happens. Have anyone had this same problem, what have you done for it to connect to iTunes?

To make sure that we on the same page, you are trying to restore from a back up in iTunes and your iPad is not showing up. If that is the case, pick one of the articles below for the type of computer you have to assist with getting it to show up in iTunes.

I already have an Ipad with everything set up in apple/itunes, so I got my daughter an Ipad Mini and while setting it up, I am restoring from Itunes back up. So it asks me to connnect to Itunes; hooked it up to my PC and synced it and gave it a new name, etc. But in the Ipad mini, it does not move from the "connected to Itunes" page...and it says it's not configured.
Am I missing something while setting it up?You should never setup an iPad you are giving a way. That is just looking for trouble for the recipient.
If the person donating the iPad wants to also donate Apps for it, you can wait until the Winner is chosen, and then have the donator Gift The Apps to the winner's Apple ID if they have one. Or create one for them on the spot and Gift the Apps that way.
Setting Up an iPad is part of the fun of getting one, why would you want to deprive the recipient of that?
Alternatively if you really want to you can choose to just give the sealed iPad to winner, with an itunes Card they can then redeem when they set it up.
Past that, there's no reason you should be opening the device, as that can make it harder to get a warranty coverage should anything happen. Since its already been opened, there's no way for the winner to be sure that any damage wasn't caused by you, and no way for Apple to confirm that and you can potentially get in more trouble than you need to.
Personally, a Device such as this should be kept sealed, and handed over ot the winner as if it were picked up at the store.
You probably mean well, but its just more trouble than it ultimately is worth. -

Itunes on PC tells me the ipad should have 64 bit version on the ipad. This it does have already. Removed and reloaded itunes several times, still the same problem for over a year! PC has 64 bit version loaded too!

My iTunes library will not completely sync to neither my iPad nor my iPhone -- both are completely updated with the latest software. What do I have to do?? When I try to do the "autofill" option when connected to iTunes it says "no songs can be copied"...I literally bought some of these songs yesterday on my iPhone and now I can't sync them to my iPad. What is this issue? Usually I would just have to plug either device into iTunes and everything would sync, now nothing new syncs.

Switch Books off then back on then reset your iPad.

Not the iPad - your computer must be running iTunes 10.7 in order to sync. It has nothing to do with iTunes on the iPad.

When I turn my Ipad3 on I get a message that states IPad is disabled.. connect to ITunes. I have done this and nothing happens. What else might I try?
Force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times. -

A lot of computers don't provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.

Also, just noticed this now....i have it connected and its got no battery. It will shut off like it died (while connected to the laptop) and then after a few minuted it will turn on. with the battery icon saying "not charging"Chances are your USB port is charging but only when the screen is off. This is e behaviour i get from our pcs.
Make a note of the battery level, plug it in and make sure the screen is off, after and hour check the battery level.
It should have charged a bit but very, VERY slowly.
Your computer port normally only delivers 500mha of power. Some modern macs deliver 1100mha. Anything less than 1000mha wont charge with the screen in.
The iPhone charge delivers 1000mha and the iPad charger delivers 2100mha.
So it not charging via the computer is normal.
