Set up multiple calendars on iphones/ipad

So my wife and I both have iphones and she also has an iPad which is kind of shared between us but mostly hers.  My question is regarding calendars and iCloud syncing.  I was wondering if it was possible and if so how to set up our devices so there are essentially 3 calendars between us.  For example, I would have my personal calendar on my iphone that syncs to my computer (outlook) through icloud, she would have her personal calendar on her iphone that syncs to her ipad (she doesn't use any calendar on her mac to be needed to sync to that), and then a third so called shared calendar that would sync to all our devices (my iphone, her iphone, her ipad and my outlook).
I have an idea on how to make this work but I don't know if it is possible or if so, how to do it.  It involves setting up 3 calendars on each device, naming them appropriately ( Joes Calendar, Nicole's Calendar, and Shared Calendar).  Then on my device's calendar settings, I can turn off her calendar from displaying and vice versa on her devices.  That way seems simple enough, and wont have to mess around with opeing multiple icloud accounts, but i just cant figure out how to make a new calendar.
Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

Yes you can do this quite easily, each keep your own calendar within your own iCloud account that syncs between your devices, and open another iCloud account for your shared calendar.
Once you have opened this secondary account, enter its details in settings > mail, contacts, calendars on your phone and other devices, and in system preferences > Mail, contacts and calendars on your Mac. You will both be able to share the calendars and any other data you wish to share, by both entering these details on your devices and computers.

How do I create multiple calendars on my iPad?

I love stealing another users posts and here is one now ....
You don't create multiple calendars on the iPad.
The iPad is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer for contacts and calendar events. The contact Groups I've created with the Address Book on my Mac and the different calendars I have with iCal on my Mac are available and kept synchronized with the my iPhone's Contacts and Calendar applications, and the same applies to the iPad.
Long story short, this is done with the supported application on your computer used for syncing contacts and calendar events.
The same principle applies to PC users. You have to sync within iTunes from a supported calendar application on your PC.

If you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar on it via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - when connected (and if your computer's iTunes is up-to-date) your iPad should then appear on that sidebar under a 'Devices' heading :
If you select the iPad on that sidebar you can then use the Movies tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync that film to your iPad's Videos app.
Has your iPad been synced to the computer before ? If not then you might find this page for syncing to a new computer useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

  • Why can't I set a default calendar on my iPad?

On my iPhone, I can set a default calendar under the "Mail..." utility option, but this is NOT an option on my iPad. Is this just an oversight on Apple's part or am I overlooking the setting elsewhere on my iPad?

I see the setting in Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Calendars, at the bottom of the page.

  • Sync multiple Calendars onto iPhone separately

    Hi,
I have the following calendars on Microsoft Outlook which I would like to sync onto my iPhone 4S:
    1) Personal calendar on Home PC
    2) Work calendar on Work laptop
I would like to keep both Calendars above the way it is, but sync both of them onto my iPhone. How can I do it?
    ie:
    Objectives:
    1) Personal calendar on Home PC only (No work calendar here)
    2) Work calendar on Work laptop only (No personal calendar here)
    3) Both calendars on iPhone
What I can do now, after I sync my iPhone to both computers:
    1) Both calendars on Home PC, but hide Work calendar
    2) Both calendars on Work laptop, but hide Personal calendar
    3) Both calendars on iPhone
How can I configure my iPhone, iTunes-es and MS Outlook(s) to achieve my objectives above?
    Please advice / help.
    Many thanks!

I've used Spanning Sync for my two home computers. One is PowerBook, and one is a new iMac. Both my wife an I have our own iPhones. http://spanningsync.com/
I paid for a one year and I'm going to buy an unlimited one because now we got a new MacBook, making three computers and two iphones to keep in sync. They are also alpha testing getting ready for beta syncing of contacts too.
The main requirement is that you have a google calendar, and email account for contacts.
Another alternative is .Mac, but that costs a lot more for what you are wanting to do.

  • HT204380 How does a user of multiple Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac laptop) designate which devices will ring when an incoming Facetime call comes in.  If all three are online, should they all be able to accept an incoming video call?

A friend of mine has an iPhone with a cellular data plan, a Macbook Pro, and a mini-iPad.  She's been using Facetime, but says that all of the devices used to ring at the time of an incoming Facetime call.  Now only her iPhone rings.  How do you set whichever device you want to ring?

James: I agree. Please keep them shorter.
The answers to both questions are no.
The iPad is NOT a computer replacement. It is a mobile device.
The iPad can not stream tro the iPhone nor an iPod.
    Hope this helps....

  • Is there anyway to set a passcode for my iPhone/iPad, but prevent the device from being disabled?

My wife and I have iPhones, and also have an iPad. We also have three children, and recently they have been trying to guess our passcodes so that they can watch videos and play games. Trouble is, after 10 attempts, the device will disable for 60 seconds, and then if the 11th attempt is wrong, the device will disable for 5 minutes, etc. My iPad is currently disabled for 60-minutes. Grrr.
Is there anyway to set a passcode to keep the children out, and yet prevent the device from being disabled on successive attempts? I realise that this feature is there to protect our devices from brute-force attacks, but we are being penalised, in that our devices become disabled for a period of time.

Well, so you have to ask: Is the problem your iPad or your children? Another question: If they're not to watch videos or play games, then why are they on the iPad in the first place?
Obviously you already know the answer to your question; there is no way to set it up the way that you want to. If you nonetheless feel that you should be able to do that, then put together your best case for it and make your wishes known directly to apple via their established Feedback links:

Posting here is no substitute for doing that

  • Multiple Calendars on iPhone

I need only one and the one I need sync's with my exchange server via Exchange Mail. How can I delete the 2 extra calendars?
    Message was edited by: jlabno

Synchronizing my iPhone with Exchange 2003 on my work windows XP via iTunes is a complete disaster.
I think the problem lies in repetitive meetings and invitation types. It somethings created 2 or even 3 Calendars on my iPhone, but mostly the sync process kept hanging....
Today I downloaded an app from Google in order to 2-Way sync with my Google account. The iphone syncs with Google. Whatever one might think of Google, this sync works stream less and perfect.
Besides all nice features of the iPhone, syncing with my Exchange Calendar is the second priority after making calls. Apple Corp. should spent more time on this issue.

How many do you have plugged in? This implies more than 2 20" and your 30", too. How many cards you got?
The white box is debugged mostly on your end, try plugging different monitors into different ports. Try switching the color settings.

  • Cannot set Proxy Auto Config in iPhone/iPad Configuration Profile

    Hi, All.
Our enterprise uses internal and external DNS, and we leverage Proxy Auto Config (PAC) files to determine how to resolve hostnames.
I can create a VPN Configuration Profile with the URL for the PAC file, so that when the VPN is enabled, it will start using the PAC file to resolve.
However, there is no such option in the WiFi Configuration Profile.
Any idea if there is a way to automate this, or if Apple intends to include this in a future version of iOS or iPCU?
    Thanks,
    David

Ooops. Sorry, I meant "10/8", not "10/24" IP range.

  • Shared Calendars Exchange 2010 for iPhone & iPad

I have spent much time reading posts and articles on setting up Exchange 2010 SP2 so that Users can edit and view shared calendars with their iPad's & iPhones.
However I have hit a stumbling block, too many way's and too much information on configuration.  So I have laid out below the commands I intend to use so we publish *.ics which believe is the best way to share calendars with ios systems though I am having
problems with details in the commands.
If anyone has already done this or can provide some examples as I don't use the com shell that often for exchange.
    Step 1:
PRE-REQUISITE: OWA External URL must be set
    set-owavirtualdirectory –Identity <CAS> -ExternalURL <externalURLforCAS>
    - What is "externalURLforCAS"????
    Step 2:
PRE-REQUISITE: Mailbox webproxy must be set
set-exchangeserver –identity “servername” –InternetWebProxy ”webproxy URL”
    - What is ”webproxy URL” ????
    Step 3:
Admin must enable Internet access to exchange published calendars
    set-owavirtualdirectory –Identity <CAS> -CalendarPublishingEnabled$true
    Step 4:
Admin must enable sharing policy for Internet Publishing
    set-sharingpolicy –Identity <PolicyName> -Domains “Anonymous:<accesslevel>”

    Hi,
ActiveSync syncs only the default calendar. We are not able to sync shared calendar in Iphone/Ipad. Your understanding would be appreciated.
Just for your reference, you may take a try with some third party tool:

  • Outlook 2007 calendar with iphone 5 gets one hour difference

    Good morning,
I've iPhone 5, windows 7 and Outlook 2007. When I sync the calendar with iTunes everything works fine but then tried to sync whith Icloud the calendar entries on my iPhones everything is one hour later than the ones on my Outlook 2007.
When I create a metting on outlook with the hour correctly on the Icloud and on the Iphone have one hour later.
When I create a meeting in the iphone, the icloud gets the hour correctly but outlook shows it one hour earlier.
I've already checked the GMT setting on both Outlook and Windows, also the iPhone sync with my computer time and GMT when I connect it to the docking station so they are always the same.
Anyone has an idea about what is going wrong?
    Thanks for your time.
    Kind regards,

  • I have a question about the calendar on the ipad2. I have multiple calendars in different colors. Some of the events are filled in with color. Others are just listed with a colored dot in front of the event. Any ideas why events ar showing up differently?

I have an ipad2 and my question is about the calendar. I set up multiple calendars with different colors. Some of the events show up in filled color. Others only show with a colored dot in front of the event. I can't figure out why some show up one way and others show up differently? Any thoughts?

On mine the ones that show on a coloured background are all-day events, the ones with dots and just timed events.

  • About sync multiple calendar to outlook

I would like to ask the result of sync multiple calendar from iPhone IOS 6.x to outlook issue.
Our users are using Outlook 2010 and had a primary mailbox for their own mailbox, and a shared mailbox for the Shared Calendar issue.
The iPhone had multiple Calendar there, if the user use itune to sync the calendar to Outlook 2010:
Will the multiple calendar combine into one calendar in Outlook 2010 and classified by Categories?
Which Outlook calendar will the iPhone calendars sync to Outlook 2010? Sync only to Primary mailbox or to both Primary mailbox and the shared caolendar?
On the other hand, as the Outlook 2010 has a primary mailbox and a shared mailbox, how would itune handle to sync the calendar to iPhone?
    Please kindly help.
