  • How many music cd's will the new Ipad air hold in 16g, 32g and 64g?

How many music cd's will the new Ipad air hold in 16g, 32g and 64g? Thanks much, Greg

That is hard to say accuratetely. As it depends on the format and length of audio. If you know the average file size of the Audio files you wish to transfer you can easily calculate.
Otherwise its like asking how many books fit in a 2 by 2 box  The answer will vary largely by type and size of book.
For a base comparison normal mp3's at around 3 minutes in length take up about 1MB per minute. so you could probably fit 20,000 of those in a 64GB iPad. considering some space is taken up by apps and OS.
Double the size for more quality, and you'll get about half. so only 10,000.
But at the end it will depend on the format, and file size of the audio.

  • My brand new iPad air has been completely unresponsive and needed to be "hard restarted" twice.  What's up with that?

3 days ago, I purchased a new iPad air.  I've installed a few apps on it and have generally just been playing with it and figuring out the OS.  Yesterday, while trying to wake it up, I noticed the device was completely unresponsive, the screen would not even turn on.  I executed a hard restart (held down home and power for 10 sec).  That seemed to remedy it for the time being but it just happened again.  I'm concerned that this will be a recurring issue and will possibly degenerate into a bigger problem for my new iPad.  Is this a known issue?  If so is it a hardware or software related problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

    My first reaction is, "Yuck!"
I participated not too long ago in this forum in a discussion about music on web pages. All people with any real experience were pretty much against it, unless there was some control that would allow someone to turn it off and on, with the default being set to "off." And, of course, I don't know how it would play with assistive technolology for blind persons (were I to add sounds to one of my web pages, my sister, who is blind, would kill me, I think).
You would need Ogg Vorbis audio in order for it to be playable in all browsers and I should mention that I had a real nightmare dealing with video on this website because I had not told Apache that Ogg is a supported MIME type. Firefox would not play the Ogg video until I edited the .htaccess file thusly:
    AddType audio/ogg .oga
    AddType video/ogg .ogv
    AddType application/ogg .ogg
I would imagine you would have to do that on any Apache server. Until you did this, your audio might be playable in some browsers and not playable in others, like Firefox.
But be careful to not totally distract people with your audio files. Audio on a website brought up in the workplace is usually a clue to others nearby that the person is not working for the company. The first thing that happens is that the page is immediately closed when audio starts coming out of the speakers.

  • Setting up new IPAD Air.

I have had a new IPAD Air bought as a gift. I have tried to set it up using the Apple ID that I have on my laptop which I have used for Itunes, (with an old IPOD)
I have put the Apple ID into the ipad Air but I just keep getting an error message up saying th ID is incorrect. So its Christmas day and I haven't even got it set up!
I don't want to use a different Apple ID because I don't think I will be able to access my itunes on my new IPAD?
I am a bit 'technically  challenged' but I would be very grateful if anyone could help me with this.
Many Thanks and Merry Christmas x

    Well thankyou very much guys!
It does my heart good that two people took the trouble to relpy to a silly old woman on Christmas day. Its very, very kind of you.
My Son helped me get it sorted yesterday. We had to change the Apple ID (twice) and eventually the Ipad recognised the ID. So... Ipad up and running and very nice it is too!
I have spent most of today trying to get my kindle in sync with my ipad! Phew, no mean feat I'll tell you. But I've done it!
So Thankyou again, I really appreciate your kindness and ....I may be back, theres a lot to learn
Heres wishing you All the Best for the New year. x

  • How set up new ipad air with mail messages from old ipad 2?

How do I move mail from wife's old ipad 2 to her new ipad air 2?  After that I will clean off the old ipad and use it myself.

Before erasing the old iPad 2 make a backup in iTunes or back it up to iCloud. Then when you setup the new iPad you will be given the option to restore from a backup.

If it is an IMAP account you might have to wait for an update/synchronization of your actions on the server.

  • New iPad Air 2 not avail as SMS forward option on 6Plus

    Hi!
I'm sure I just don't have some random setting correctly, but can't figure out which one it is!
I purchased a new iPad Air 2 the other day and went through the activation/backup restoration process with no issues.  HOwever, as I was sitting here playing with it, I realized I was not getting SMS texts from my mom.  So, I went about trying to get it all set up.  I have 2 options on my iPhone 6plus for SMS text forwarding, my desktop Mac and my old iPad.  The new one does not show up in the list.
What do I need to do to get the iPad Air 2 to show up so I can get the activiation code and start sending/recieving SMS messages on the iPad again???
    Thanks!
    Lora

Ok....completely ignore!  I figured it out!
Just in case someone else has this same problem: I simpley turned iMessage off on both devices and then powered them both down.  Brought them both up individually and turned iMessage back on, iPhone first iPad second.  Once they both requested me to sign back in, turned on forwarding and the activation code showed up immediately.
SMS messages now work on iPad and all is right in my world.....at least where these 2 electronics are concerned for now

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Transferring photo's to new iPad air

I just got a new iPad air.  I thought photo's from my old iPad transferred prior to restoring it, but not.  I have been trying now to transfer from my Macbook pro, but hasn't worked.  iCloud says it has no photo's stored, and iTunes refers me to iCloud.  When I go into iPhoto, my iPad shows up and it shows loading under selections, but nothing ever appears.  What am I doing wrong.

Transferring your prepaid cellular data account depends on your carrier. AT&T lets you move it yourself when you go to Cellular Data in Settings and log into your account with your previous AT&T user name and password. For iPads with Sprint service, you can set up an account on the new iPad and contact Sprint Customer Care (888-211-4727 and go through the menus) to deactivate the old plan and get credit for unused service. For Verizon, call the company’s customer service number for mobile broadband support (800-786-8419) and ask to have your account transferred.
