Set up says firefox is still open and wont proceed in the set up wizard, what do I do?

In downloading firefox 4, the setup wizard will not get past "please close firefox" to proceed with set up. Firefox is closed on my laptop with Xp what do I do?

If it's registered with Apple, no problem. Go to

Hi,i am running linux mint.I tried to change the firefox folder from the file system with a new firefox folder cause i had a problem with one extension(download statusbar).So,after that i have problem,firefox ask me about profile and after some tests about it from me,firefox always says"this profile its allready in use,make a new profile or rename one profile".I don't know anything about profiles,first time i see that i can make a profile it's now.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, maybe after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

After exiting a pop up says firefox is still running and I cannot reaccess it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

When I close MF I cannot reaccess it as a pop up box tells me it is still running but not responsing. I then have to restart the computer to access it.

Since this is an XP machine, which version of iTunes do you have installed? Is it the latest version?
Have you tried starting iTunes, attach the USB end of the cable, then while holding the home button on the iPod connect the 30-pin connector end of the cable to the iPod...that is the recovery mode but also should make iTunes see the iPod.
If that doesn't work you may need to take the iPod back and have it tested by the genius bar techs to make sure the connector is not bad.

You get message "firefox is still running" and computer restart doesn't help you. Try the advice below.
Make sure Firefox isn't running (end firefox.exe process in Task Manager or restart computer)
Find your profile folder
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default
find file "parent.lock" in it and delete it (the file is empty, its function is to signify to Firefox whether it's already open or not).
Then try to open Firefox again. Will it start or not? What will it say?

When I try to close all programs it tells me firefox is still running and I have to close it first but it is not running!
