Set up Scrybe as trackpad

I want to get more out of my multitouch trackpad in bootcamp. Has anyone managed to edit the Scrybe driver to be compatible? Apple should really come with their own version of this...

You want a device that you can wire your dvr to and receive the wireless belkin. And you want to know if that can act as an access point. Is that right? Don't think that they have 1 device for that. For the first part, you can get a wireless ethernet bridge (WET54G). If you're looking to extend the range of the network, you can get a WRE54G or WAP54G.
The box said windows xp or better... So I installed Linux!

  • How do I set up the magic trackpad when I can't access System Preferences

Bought a new iMac and Magic Mouse.    After initial installation, decided to swap mouse for the Magic Trackpad.
Trackpad is turned on but I am unable to access System Preferences since my iMac was paired with the Magic Mouse.  I don't have another USB mouse to complete the pairing.  Any suggestions?   Thank You.

    Nancy,
If you have the bluetooth icon in the menubar, you can reach that and open bluetooth preferences by
pressing FN CNTL F8.  This will move focus to the right side of the menubar, then arrow across and down to get to the options you need.  Press the spacebar for "enter".

  • TS3048 Wireless trackpad set up asks for passkey?

I'm trying to set up a wireless trackpad. In the Bluetooth set up, it asks me to enter a passkey into the device. The device is a trackpad, which means it has no numeral keys, etc. What am I missing?

Hi - what do you mean they have the numbers, numbers for what please? I've been through all the web pages in the router set up and can only find a password page for router access.

  • Screen flicker and trackpad issues on macbook pro 8 2

Hi I have a macbook pro (8,2) 15 inch with a high rez anti glare display.  The display stared to flicker after living my computer open in arch for about 30 min.  I tried rebooting and it even started happening in the boot screen and in mac os x.  The last thing I did before it happened was setup pommed in arch and leve my computer open.
Also this has sort of been asked but my question is a little different.  I am trying to set up my multitouch trackpad.  I installed mtrack from the aur but changing the settings does nothing.  What I want to accomplish is this.  1)  I want to right click by clicking (not tapping) with one finger in the button right corner of my trackpad. 2) I need to disable tap to click!!!! 3) I want to be able to click the trackpad with my thump and use my index finger to drag instead of only my thumb.  for example I want to click on a window border with my thumb and move it around with my index finger while holding down my thumb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Glad you figured it out.  Sorry to see no one else chimed in.
I have arch on a macbook as well.  I have never seen a need for the many elaborate packages which claim to make these things work.  If they're working then stick with it - but if you need another option, I've had great luck with simply properly configuring synaptics:

  • Can I disable the internal trackpad if I am using the magic trackpad

I am using the magic trackpad with my 11" MacBook Air and want to disable the notebook trackpad. Is this possible. No obvious setting in the system trackpad  preferences.

Yes, It's in System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > check "ignore internal trackpad when external mouse or trackpad present.

  • My built in clicker for my macbook, the main button below the trackpad, is broken.  It will randomly and inconveniently click when I do not want it too.  I need a way to simply disable it all together and just use the click function on the trackpad.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Your click function on the trackpad itself would be set in
    System Prefs:Trackpad.
As for the manual clicker below, you might wish to clear
anything that's fallen in by using the edge of a sheet of
paper around the border that you can reach.

Why can't I select "get info" from the file area so I can change the setting to "open in 32-bit mode" ?

It may be because of your settings. You can modify that setting in System Preferences > Trackpad. Another way of making right-click is to click the app icon while holding the Control key

  • Trackpad suddenly stopped working

    All of a sudden, my trackpad would not work at all. I hooked up an external mouse and rebooted the ibook. It came back fine. What would have caused this on a new ibook - 3 weeks old? It has been working great with this one glitch.;

In System Preferences, there is a setting which disables the trackpad when a mouse is plugged in. What is yours set to do?

  • TrackPad Useless

    Hi,
After installing the trackpad update and spending 12 hours with the new MacBook Pro 2.53GHz, I have discovered that the trackpad is useless. The 2007 MacBook Pro 2.4 trackpad is far superior for detailed work.
The trackpad is so large and needs to fall so far to click that it is impossible to do any fine work with this device. I tried enabling the "Tap to Click" feature. However, it is very difficult to use it for inserting into text or doing any precision work. In addition, I found I was accidently moving files into folders with this setting. This new trackpad is like controlling my car by slamming the trunk. It is a very poor design.
I attached a mouse so that I could finally use the MacBook Pro. The problem with this is that one of the basic features that any notebook should have is an easy to use trackpad or trackball. I love Mac OS X but the Late 2008 MacBook Pro trackpad design seems to be a fatal flaw.
It looks like I will return the late 2008 MacBook Pro and stay with my 2007 model unless someone here has found a way to get the trackpad to work reliably.
    Thank you!

I agree, it's not great for precision work. I went out and bought the bluetooth Apple mouse. Pretty cool. I think the trackpad is good for web surfing, email and the like. Forget trying to work in IMovie and Photoshop.

  • Suggestion: Improved "Accidental Trackpad Input"

I never had a problem with the trackpad on my PowerBook G3/Firewire, but when I got the 15" PowerBook G4 (hi-res), text editing became extremely frustrating.
I like using the trackpad tapping for clicking, so I have that enabled, but the new trackpad is just too close to my hands when I type, so I get "accidental taps" all over the place while typing.
Of course the OS has the "ignore accidental trackpad input" setting and enabling it has saved my sanity as far as text editing is concerned. Unfortunately I find that it does a little bit too much, in that it pretty much ignores the trackpad as long as you are typing.
I found the SideTrack trackpad driver and tried it for a few minutes. Setting the top left and right corners to do nothing on taps proved to be a perfect solution for ignoring accidental taps in those areas. The only downside to this trackpad driver is that it doesn't know how to do two-finger scrolling, which I have come to like very much. The author of SideTrack is investigating the possibility of implementing two-finger scrolling and I would love to pay the shareware fee once that feature is also working.
Meanwhile, I'm wondering if it would be possible for Apple to implement something like "ignore the top left and right corners of the trackpad for tapping" option in the standard driver?

    the cursor jumps everywhere
Hmm... In fact, the cursor doesn't jump everywhere. When it jumps, it jumps to a specific, predictable place: it moves to the exact spot in the text where you last left your trackpad/mouse pointer.
When you are typing and you use the trackpad (or a mouse) to move the cursor, make sure to move the trackpad/mouse pointer either out of or below the text field within which you are working so that when you do brush the trackpad the trackpad pointer will move either to the end of a line or to the end of the text field.
I would also suggest that you look into a replacement trackpad driver called SideTrack. In the SideTrack preference pane in System Preferences, there is a filtering feature called 'Ignore trackpad while typing,' which is much more useful than the PB's 'Ignore accidental trackpad input.' This filter is adjusted with a slider that enables you to set the duration of trackpad filtering that occurs after each keystroke. You can set the slider to anywhere between 200 ms and 2 seconds. (SideTrack adds quite a few additional features to the trackpad, as well: corner taps to perform software actions and/or actions that you normally would only be able to perform with a six button mouse; vertical and horizontal scrolling on the trackpad's edges, and more. Definitely worth the $15 shareware fee.)
    Good luck.

  • Cannot pair my magic trackpad to my iMac

    It looks like a simple problem;
I own a 27" iMac [late 2013]. Since a few weeks I have serious problems with pairing my Magic Trackpad.
It is no longer possible to connect to my iMac.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
    Kind regards,
    Rob Dijkstra

  • Pinch open and close

Just got my MBP last week. Pinch open and close (to zoom in and out) works on pdfs, but not on photos in iPhoto. Am I doing something wrong? I have the box checked for it to work, obviously, since it works on the pdfs. Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
It doesn't work while viewing items in iPhoto, you can set 'screen zoom' in TrackPad prefs which will and sometimes that's handy.

  • Macbook Pro, Snow Leopard , can't drag and drop?

I have a 13" Macbook Pro and I am unable to drag and drop with my trackpad but I can with a wired mouse.  I have reinstalled Snow Leopard and checked every conceivable setting and checked the trackpad.  The trackpad will do everything else but 'drag and drop".  Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Sounds as if it may be a hardware issue with your trackpad - I would take it into your local Apple Store or an AASP and let them run diagnostic tests on the trackpad. If you've already reinstalled SL, that would be my suggestion.
    Good luck,

  • I don't know what happened?!

So last night, to give a little history, I was trying to look at a slideshow that I had made using iphoto. That's when the touble started, I could see the pictures in the library but when I clicked on them to edit, they woud not show up. When I tried to play the slideshow, it just made a black screen and i had to force quit out of iphoto.
So I left my macbook alone to for the night, still charging and playing itunes while I slept. In the morning, my itunes was still playing.
After my shower I guess my macbook went to sleep. I had to type in my password in order to log in. When it opened to the desktop EVERYTHING WAS DIFFERENT from how I left it before. There were tons of programs in my dock. My desktop background was different. The trackpad settings had gone back to the original settings. My photos that I edited in iphoto were gone. The photos I took in Photobooth were gone. ALL THE MUSIC I HAD IN MY iTUNES LIBRARY WERE GONE!
Basically, it seemed like all the settings had been restored back to factory settings. Except my sticky notes were still on the desktop with all the information I had left on it as well as my ical. In safari, all my bookmarks are still there. In my Pages, all my documents are still there too. So a lot of stuff was still saved, but I also lost a lot. It's really disappointing, and time consuming to set everything back up the way I had it. Plus, having to put my music back on my macbook.
I'm not sure what happened. I'm not sure what to do about it.
I also would like to know how to save the settings I set for my macbook, trackpad, dock, desktop, etc... Or are they supposed to be saved and work everytime I log back onto my macbook?
Any help would be greatly appreciatted!
    Thanks!
    macbook   Mac OS X (10.4)

Wow... Haven't heard of this one before.
Yes - you are correct in assuming that all of your settings should just stay put between login sessions. It sounds almost as if another account (if you have one) got mixed up with your own - or perhaps some preference files just somehow got messed up.
I would probably run the Disk Utility --- Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility --- and repair the permissions as well as run a check on the hard drive just to rule out any problems there.
Then I would reset the preferences back to my liking. I would then watch it and if it happens again, I would try doing a clean install of OSX and all applications. If, after that, it happens again, I would call Applecare or go to an Apple store and have them look at it.
It's definitely not supposed to happen but I would try to fix the problem myself in those ways before I called Apple.
    Good luck!
