  • Setting up yahoo email on Nokia 6500 Slide??

    Hi Guys
Well after going into various shops and looking at forums and being told you cant set up yahoo email on phone unless you buy the yahoo premium package i was overjoyed i found the settings at http://europe.nokia.com/A4144889
I get my yahoo emails appear in my email inbox on my phone ive setup. When i want to delete them i click on delete from phone. The email stays there but says deleted from phone underneath, but hasnt gone. Does anyone know how i can get rid of it totally from my phone but keep it on my email server??
Also i want to set up another one (i have 2 yahoo accounts)
On the settings you get sent to your phone from the website above it says choose email provider so i choose Yahoo UK. It then creates 2 inboxs on my phone both called Yahoo UK. I cant find an option on the phone to change the name Yahoo UK
    Any ideas??

  • Error message setting up Yahoo email account...help!

I just got my new Droid Razr yesterday, and I have tried numerous times to set up my existing Yahoo email account but I keep getting an error message that states "System is unavailable to support the request". My email address and password are correct, I am able to log in just fine on my computer, so I can't figure out what the problem is or how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!

    Try this under the settings:
    Yahoo Ymail: IMAP
    Incoming Settings:
    Username: [email protected]
Password: (check the case for your password)
    IMAP server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 143
    Security type: TLS if available
IMAP path prefix: (leave blank, it should read "Optional"
    Outgoing Settings:
    SMTP server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 25
    Security type: TLS if available
    Require sign-in: Checked
    Username: [email protected])
Password: (check the case for your password)
If that does not work, I would use the app available in the Play Store as stated above.

  • Setting up Yahoo email on iPhone 4

My Yahoo id is different from my yahoo email address. How do I set up my Yahoo account to allow for this on the iphone?
I've tried setting up Yahoo as an 'Other' account with both POP and IMAP, neither seem to work. Any ideas?

I'm able to receive email using the following incoming mail server:
    imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com
However, the outgoing mail server still isn't being recognized and won't allow me to send mail:
    smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Any thoughts?

  • Setting Up Yahoo email on BB in Pakistan

    Hi All,
Please help if anyone has got a definitive answer. I have a blackberry and BIS plan (Telenor) and i am not able to configure yahoo email on my device. When i try to configure yahoo email i get,
    "Invalid email address or password:
Please verify your email address and password. The information you provided is incorrect.
If the error persists contact yahoo.com (your email provider)."
Now this is the correct password i am entering here (for sure) and still i get the message.
It seems that no one in Pakistan is able to configure yahoo email on BB device, through i have successfully configured hotmail and gmail and other accounts. Similarly yahoo messenger also says service not supported.
I am able to access yahoo messenger and yahoo email on my computer though.
Anyone knows what is the reason ?.

  • Unable to set up Yahoo email on Samsung Galaxy S4

It says my ID and password are incorrect, even though they are and work on my PC. I receive this message when trying to use the manual set up - "unable to connect to server (-ERR [AUTH](#mbr1212) Incorrect username or password." I've tried every help topic available from Yahoo (POP server settings) and nothing works. Anyone got any tips?

Are you using the Yahoo built in set up when yo try to set it up?  If not then try that. And if you are using that one, try setting it up as an OTHER account and manually typing in the settings.

  • Yahoo email signing out ?

Yahoo is my default mail and it keeps requesting me to sign in.....It doesnt seem to be remembering my password......anything I should be checking or looking for??
    Thanks in Advance.
    Keith

keithsm2, I was really interested in this issue because yahoo email is one of the largest email clients we as customers use and I know how much of a convenience it would be to have it open without prompting you for a password. I show that customers have reported this as an issue and we have found different fixes that have worked for our customers until we find a permanent fix.
    1) Customers have had success by removing the Yahoo Mail from the account list by clicking settings-accounts -remove yahoo and then setting the email up by using a yahoo mail app from the market place.
    2) Customers have also added the Yahoo mail account as OTHER in the settings instead of 'YAHOO". To do this go to email, click menu, long press on yahoo email account, click add account add as OTHER (not yahoo) type in email and password.
    3) Also try setting the Yahoo Email as the first account within the email application instead of existing.

  • Yahoo email password

I just set up my iPhone 5 and set my yahoo email and it keep asking my password every time without verifying it. All other emails worked fine only problem with yahoo. Any suggestion ???? Thanks

I suggest deleting your Yahoo! mail account from your phone temporarily and having someone look at it, for example, at a Sprint store, to see whether they can figure out whether the problem is in the mail software.
Meanwhile, I don't know how you reset a Yahoo! password, but if someone is resetting your password, I suggest calling Yahoo! for help. You can't be the first person with that problem.

  • I have a 'family' yahoo email address which is shared across several phones. How can I set up my phone so if I delete an email which isn't relevant to me it doesn't automatically delete from the other phones?

I share a yahoo email account with my husband and children. The emails may be for one or more or of us. When an email arrives on my iPhone 5C, if it is not relevant to me (because it's something he is dealing with) then I would like to delete it just from my phone without also deleting from his phone. Or it may be an attachment like a photo which I don't need stored on my phone, but will need to download when I get home and on the PC. He can delete from his Samsung without it deleting on my phone or on the PC, but I've not found a way of setting up my phone so it works the same way. Please can someone tell me which are the best settings to use?

To set it up as POP you need to delete the account, reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds), then add it back following these instructions: Forcing creation of a POP or IMAP email account
I understand that you have used the same account for many years, but the technology is also changing constantly. Years ago the standard was POP (Post Office Protocol), which was designed at a time when it was inconceivable that anyone would access their email from more than one device. When people started using multiple devices, for the most part they wanted to see changes on one device mirrored on another. A new standard, IMAP (Internet Mail Access Protocol) was developed. With iMAP the master copy of all messages resides on a server, and multiple devices are kept in sync with the server. So if you delete a message from one device it is removed from the server, and then removed from all other devices when they next sync. This is the same way Microsoft Exchange works. Other benefits of IMAP include the ability to have multiple mail folders that are kept in sync across devices. In your case you could use this to create a separate folder for each family member, so they could move messages to their own folder and not clutter up the shared Inbox. Most computer mail readers can even automatically sort incoming mail into folders based on the contents of the message.
IMAP is considered a "higher level" standard than POP. When you create a mail account iOS devices query the server and ask what it supports; if it says it supports IMAP then the account is automatically configured for IMAP. So if you really want POP you must fool it, as described in the link above. In my experience Android devices default to the highest level protocol also, and I suspect newer Blackberries do (although it has been 15 years since I used a BB).

  • Error message when setting up a Yahoo email account.

I have set up 4 email accounts on my ipad fine. Gmail, a work email and 2 pop emails with no problems but i cannot add my yahoo account. after i use the "ipad easy yahoo set up" i get the following message - The IMAP server "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is not responding. Check you connection and that you are entering the correct information in the "incoming mail server field."
i am entering Nothing in the incoming mail server field. Apple must have the yahoo mail server pre programmed for easy set up.. all its asking me to enter is name, email addres and password. IN addition why would "apple" be in the imap server name? does this seem correct? i know there was a simliar question to this one a few days ago but there was no resoultion. Is this an Ipad programming programming problem? HELP?

If you are getting the password incorrect error, try changing the password to be alphanumeric only - no special characters. That worked for me.
