Set view defaults

I am having problems setting the default view settings for Acrobat Pro 8. I have read some other posts and the view always defaults to something other than the settings I have chosen.
I have:
Chosen to not remember view settings of previously opened files.
Set a custom window size, view percentage, and resolution.
Default layout and zoom.
None of these settings hold.
If the default view settings can be overwritten by each PDF file, what is the point of having default view settings?
The location of any and all pref files and/or temp files would be great. Maybe I can just wipe them all to start with a fresh set.
Any ideas would be appreciated. We are having this problem with approximately 70 systems, both Mac and Win, Versions 8 & 9 Pro.
Thanks

None of these settings hold.
If the default view settings can be overwritten by each PDF file, what is the point of having default view settings?
Because they're defaults, not overrides - they're only used when the PDF file doesn't specify an Initial View setting. Embedded IV settings always take priority.

  • Setting View Default property

    Hi,
I have 2 views in a window. Upon passing application parameters and checking for the values I need to set the 'default' property of the view i.e I need to see view1 initially when I deploy the application or I need to see view2 initially(depending on a condition). Is this posible to set this property dynamically? Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,
When WD is called, the application executes the InterfaceView of the default view in the window. So, you can have an intial view, call it as view0 which will always be the default view, (nothing in it but not an "empty view") and fire plugs in this view to any other view view1 or view2 of your choice.
If you learn any other standard way, please do let me know.
    Thanks,
    Rajit

  • Dynamicaly setting view set as default

    Hi experts ,
i need  help on how to set views default dynamicaly ,
In my case i have 3 views , but based on the user the default view will change  EG : for manager first view is defalt view ,
for employee 2 view should be default .
how to handel views dynamicaly .?
    regards
    chinnaiya P

    Hi Chinnaiya,
You could use the FPM and it's ability to have "variants". Which variant is displayed is controlled by the FPM controller class. So you could put your logic there to decide the variant. You could then configure the variants to use the different screens.
This would have the nice added benefit of having a similar look and feel to all the other new WD ABAP ESS/MSS apps.
Alternatively you could just have your default view having a view container in it - then dynamically swapping the window that should be embedded in it at runtime.
ButI like the FPM solution better!
    Cheers,

  • How to set the default value of a LOV that is found in a view criteria

    HI,
I need to set the default value of an LOV that is found in a view criteria. I tried to set a groovy expression but unfortunately it wasn't read. i also tried to bind the LOV to a bind variable and set the value of the bind variable in the constructor of my backing bean but unfortunately the default value appeared the second time i entered the screen and not on page load.
Can anyone advise where can i set the default value,
    Thanks

if you want some default value in LOV. you go to edit list of value wizard-> UI hint->include no selection Item checkbox -checked.use labeled item first of list- and beside that put the label. but when you try to get value, it will show null.but you can manipulate in ur java , if it default value

  • How do I set my default Shockwave Flash object viewer to Firefox 4 RC?

In the previous version of Firefox, I set it as my default Shockwave Flash viewer (these were offline objects) by selection the application in my program files.
When I upgraded to FF 4 RC, I was no longer able to view these files, nor was I able to find the application to default to (it was no longer in program files).
I tried setting the default viewer to the FF application located in Local Roaming but it won't appear in either the 'recommended' or 'other' when selected.
I can however still view these SWFs by clicking and dragging them onto the FF window. This isn't a major issue but I'd like to know if and how this can be fixed.
    Thanks

    # Open Windows Explorer.
    # Right-click a Shockwave Flash file (.SWF) and select '''Open with''' then '''Choose default program...'''
    # Click the '''Browse''' button in the lower right corner of the window and choose the Firefox executable. If you've installed Firefox in the default location, its path is ''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe''

  • BC4J,Setting a default Value In a View With Data From An Other View

    hi
I'm developping A BC4J. I want to set the default value of a field By counting the number of rows in an other view.
So I want to instanciate the view and execute the sql statement and get the result.
Is that the right manner to do it or not.
can someone help me to do that
    cheers
    ghassen

There's lots of ways to skin this cat depending upon whether you mean "database view" or "view object" when you say "view", and individual requirements.
Given database views v1 and v2 with a common key between them
    select v1.x, count(*) from v1,v2 where v1.key = v2.key group by v1.x;
either in the database view or in expert mode for the view object ( I think it'll take group by, but never done it ). ( assumption is that v1.x is a primary key for v1 )...
Try this from sql*Plus first to get a feel for how this works.
The catch with the above is that it is "static"... if you can ADD rows to v2 in your application... they aren't visible in the count until saved and requeried.
Another way ( I think... hopefully Oracle folk will kibitz... )
Create your own attribute on the view object like "TheOtherCount".
In the view object's RowImpl, find the "getTheOtherCount". Find the count of rows in the second view object or entity object or rowSetInfo through the method of your choice. ( If you've already set up a master detail relationship that is active you can just get the rowcount! ). Refer to earlier postings on how to get the rowcount, or to create a dynamic view query to get the count.
The nice thing is that this should reflect your counts even if the second view has added or removed rows... but will probably move like a snail.
Note that if you have a need where you want the row count updated in a frame for v1 whenever v2 is added to or removed from... well... then you need to set up some sort of event listener to do a redisplay of v1's frame, I'd think? Since the attribute you've created in the view object is not based on an entity object attribute, it has no way to know when it has been "updated" via an additional or removed row from the target.
I'm posting the above because no one has responded yet... it may form a place to start from. And maybe someone in the know will go "No, No, No... KKirk... it doesn't work that way at all!" and fill us in on how this can be accomplished!
    Good Luck

"I would like to know how to set the default view for the columns that are shown in iTunes. Every time I open it, I have to either go to the options, or right-click to get the pop-up options, and delete "rating" and add "composer." Any help would be appreiated.  OSX 10.9.2  iTunes version 11.1.5  Thanks!!! CW!

From the iTunes menu bar try View>Show View Options.  Make sure what you want to see is checked and what you don't is unchecked.  You can do this (may need to do this) for any playlists, your main Library, etc.

  • Setting a default folder view for all folders in Windows 7

How do you set up a default folder view of "List" for ALL the folders in Windows 7 including the optical drive?
    Artoo

I just installed windows 7. Are you seriously telling me that i now have all folders with mp3s in them AUTOMAGICALLY (THANKS FOR THE HANDY HELPING HAND THERE MICROSOFT!!!) set to some designers whim of what an mp3 folder "SHOULD" look like?
Well i was going to write a big rant, and indeed did, but then i was doing some more research and it seems like i just made everyones day and solved the problem (partially). Or well THIS guy did:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16694/customize-the-five-windows-folder-templates/
After you’ve clicked OK, visit some of the other folders in your file system.  You should see that most have taken on these new settings.
What we’ve just done, in effect, is we have customized the General Items template.  This is one of five templates that Windows Explorer uses to display folder contents.  The five templates are called (in Windows 7):
    General Items
    Documents
    Pictures
    Music
    Videos
When a folder is opened, Windows Explorer examines the contents to see if it can automatically determine which folder template to use to display the folder contents.  If it is not obvious that the folder contents falls into any of the last four templates,
then Windows Explorer chooses the General Items template.  That’s why most of the folders in your file system are shown using the General Items
    template.
    Changing the Other Four Templates
If you want to adjust the other four templates, the process is very similar to what we’ve just done.  If you wanted to change the “Music” template, for example, the steps would be as follows:
Select a folder that contains music items
Apply the existing Music template to the folder (even if it doesn’t look like you want it to)
Customize the folder to your personal preferences
Apply the new template to all “Music” folders
A fifth step would be:  When you open a folder that contains music items but is not automatically displayed using the Music template, you manually select the Music template for that folder.
Anyways, sorry that explanation doesnt do it justice. I have spent waaay too much time trying to figure this out already. Also that link doesnt say how to 1) copy templates (are they file or registry based?, didnt do research) 2) if you can distable templates
or the automatic re-templating of folders.
THAT is what i want to know! as it is much more maintance then its actually worth...
but once i had set 5 default types to, the exact same thing... it now doesnt matter if it automagically switches it. SUCK IT MS AUTOTUNE!!!
Its bloody hard to frame this question too. What can you say about this? "folder changes to mp3" "customize folder types windows 7" "windows 7 folder changes to mp3" "dont automatically change folders to mp3" "how
to change mp3 details column for good" "automatically change column order win 7 mp3"
The search that actually solved it:
"do not apply default template to mp3 windows 7"
good luck, this worked for me!
EDIT: also i just noticed that neonr already answered this above. i just didnt read it carefully enough. anyways i guess i will leave this and mark his as answer.

  • "Show view option" and "set as default" doesn't work

    Hello,
I have my own settings in viewing finder items (like most of the users). Unfortunately those setting don't apply to iDisk folders, even after using "set as default" in "Show view option". There is any solution for this?
    Thanks in advance for help.

  • How do I set the default x-axis scale in DIAdem View?

    Hi everyone:
I look at large amounts of data (i.e. many different data files every day), and I am trying to load and view them quickly and efficiently. Currently, when I have data sets loaded in the "Structure" tab, and I click and drag a numeric channel over to the 2-D plot, DIAdam automatically scales the x-axis from 0 to 60, when the numeric channels can be anywhere from 50 000 to 100 000 entries long. I now use the roller on my mouse to zoom out for five minutes before seeing the entire data set. My question is is there a way to re-set the default x-axis scaling so I do not have to zoom out each time I plot a numeric channel?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Peter!,
The DIAdem VIEW windows will always auto-scale to the full range of the values on the X-axis when you drag data into a new window.
You have several options on how to quickly get to the range of data you wish to see.
Right click on the LEFT edge of the data you wish to zoom into, HOLD the mouse right mouse button and DRAG the mouse to the right side of the section you wish to zoom into. DIAdem will automatically show the section you have selected in a zoomed view in that same window
    Result:
Alternatively, you can double click on the VIEW window and check the "Manual X-Scaling" box and then enter the exact values you wish to zoom into
Also, you could use the Band Cursor from the toolbar, move and resize the Band in the VIEW window and then use the "Scroll in Cursor Range" icon to zoom into the area of the curve you are interested in.
These are just a few ways you should be able to accomplish what you have described in your post.

  • In mini bridge how do I set the default view to the filmstrip?

    Hello,
In mini bridge how do I set the default view to the filmstrip?
    Thank you.

Mark, there's a very basic .NET method on every nullable object:
    GetValueOrDefault
EDIT: Now I see...please avoid duplicating
    questions...
    To be clear:
Put GetValueOrDefault on every nullable field used inside your 'TotalDue_Compute' sub
You don't need to define 'TotalDue' as Nullable anymore

I'm a new iPad owner and would like to set the default view for myself to show only Apps for the iPad when I launch the the App Store app. Showing apps for iPhone seems a waste of real estate for me and time spent searching for a particular app since I do not own an iPhone.
    Thanks for any assist. :-)

    Hi ..
That's not possible as yet but you can provide feedback to Apple here.

  • Setting A Default Window View

    10.4.8
Is there a way to set a default so that varied windows can automatically open in list view rather than icon view which is the way they are opening now? I have already gone through many windows and set them using the View Options command - but I would like a default to be set for all other Windows.

Open Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu. Search for "finder views." You'll find what you want in the list, "Changing how items are shown in Finder windows."
