Setting a notification sound for reminders

Any suggestions about changing the alert sound for Notifications. Tried resetting the Alert Sound, in Sys Pref>Sounds, but Notifications continues to play the Basso sound even though another sound is selected.

if you go to settings-notifications-scroll down to facebook-then select what alert style you want. then whenever one of your friends posts it should pop up a notification.
to change the sound you hear, go to settings-sounds-you should then be able to choose what sound plays when the notification pops up

Yes you can, in the sense that this is an "Alert" sound you've set for the whole Mac software, and of course this is set in System Preferences > Sounds > Sound Effects. This will change the "alert sound" for the whole Mac.
So, No, you can't change only this particular Alert sound. If you could, it would be done in System Preferences > Notifications, and your only option there is whether you want the sound or not (Chkbox on "Play sound when receiving Notifications")

How to create unique notification sounds for email on Droid Incredible 4G LTE

I have three separate email accounts pushed to my Droid Incredible 4G LTE. I can't for the life of me figure out how to set up unique notification sounds for each email account. It was a snap to do on my old Blackberry.
Same question for flagging individuals within my contact list. (E.g., if my wife calls it makes one sound, if a client calls it makes a different sound.)
Does anyone know how to do this, or, as they say, is there an app for that???

I don't think you can on the email but got to each contact and edit them for different sounds, I'm not sure if it works on that new phone that way but as they don't have a dedicated room yet for it you had nowhere else to ask htc has good forums also

Try going to setting and go down to facebook. See if you can change anything there. If you can't then go to Sounds(in settings) and try looking for facebook there. i havn't had this problem but that is about the right steps to solving it

How can I disable the notification sound for remaining credit messages

My operator sends me a message after every call and text which tells me what remains of my monthly allowances. This is very useful and I don't want to turn it off. I've just got myself a Z10 and the only thing that annoys me about it is that I have not yet found out how to disable the notification sound for this type of message. The device is stock with the latest firmware and no apps.
I can change the notification for normal text messages in the settings, but there is no obvious entry to change for these messages. Does anyone know how to do it?

If the message comes in the (bell) notifications it can only be switched OFF globally.
If it is a text message, you can create a contact with the number, then Setting - Notifications - Contacts - Customise - Phone Calls, Email Messages, Text Messages, Other Messaging

No notification sound for face time

I don't get a notification sound for face time..people have to call my phone to tell me FaceTime is ringing. Yes, I checked the sound setting also.

Did you check the usual suspects?
1. Do you have your ringtone volume up?
2. Make sure the device isn't muted. See here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4085
3. Make sure Do Not Disturb is off. Swipe up from the bottom if th screen to access Control Center and make sure the moon icon is not lit.
4. Make sure the sound you set for your FaceTime Alert Sound is something that is loud enough for you to clearly hear. Tapping the sound will give you a preview.

An incident rule is a user-defined rule that specifies the criteria by which notifications should be sent for specific events that make up the incident. An incident rule set, as the name implies, consists of one or more rules associated with the same incident.
When creating an incident rule, you specify criteria such as the targets you are interested in, the types of events to which you want the rule to apply. Yes and no. You have to go back and add a notification sound when done listening. This is asinine. Never had this issue with my 4 other android phones. It may honestly be the reason I break warrenty and just flash Cyanogen

Mail sound settings set to None but still receive notification sound for all new mail

My sound settings for new mail are set to Alert Tones: None, Vibrate Only, but I still receive a sound notification for all new mail. Why is my phone not recognizing the setting? I have turned off and back on the phone numerous times hoping that would help, but it has not. How can I make the phone recognize the settings that I have purposefully set?

So I understand: you have friends whose iPhone 4S's do vibrate when mail is received in silent mode, and no sounds are selected for new mail, but vibrate is selected for silent mode?
Just want to be clear.
My wife has an iPhone 4S 16gb, and it appears she has the same problem as well.
As an aside to the issue, I really wish there was a way to have a timer on the notification center so we could put one, many, or all apps' notfication to sleep during a specific time period (say, during the night). V. annoying to have to disable notifications separately. Would love a way to turn them off between, say, midnight at 6am.

How can I set a due date for reminders?

I DO NOT want it to remind me at a certain time. I just want it to be due on a certain day. You used to be able to do this when the reminders were part of the calendar on icloud.com, but now you can only set a day AND a specific time for an alert about the reminder, which I don't need.
And as far as I can tell, you can't change it on the iPhone either. I'm guessing you can still change it on the iCal app on an actual Mac, but the whole point of icloud is that I don't have to carry my computer with me everywhere I go.

I found a round about way to get the DUE feature.
     click <<remind me>> and set a day
     select <<daily>>
     clink <<done>> and exit
go back into the same reminder and you should see a due feature.
I then removed the reminder, but kept the repeat. As I use this for a check off for my bills.
I think this only works if the date you select initially is in the future.

Setting balance of sound for earphones

Any way of changing the balance setting on the 3rd gen Nano? I have partial loss of hearing in one ear and need to up the volume in the affected ear. If no software or setting cure, any suggestion on a good set of in ear noise cancelling or suppressed earphones that has separate volume for each ear?

I have the same problem. I found this, but read my warnings below the link:

It does work, but does not amplify; depending on your hearing loss level, (mine's about 70%) the sound will end up stereo, but pretty quiet.
ALSO, the device is fairly large and thick, AND the cord is 20 feet long. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can shorten it, but be aware that the wires are the very fine individually stranded/coated kind, so you'll have to sand the plastic coating off the very fine strands in order to get the solder to really stick the wires back together.
Good luck ever hearing back from apple on this, I've asked them several times (online help, email, phone) if they have any hidden balance control / ADA patch type software, etc... when they don't just ignore me, and actually respond, they tell me that the ipod is perfectly balanced in the factory, and if mine is not working, I should send it for repair.
Apple pretty much doesn't give a rip about the thousands of people who have hearing deficits to one degree or another.
If you have better luck with a hardware device, please post it here, I use the one above, but it's almost more trouble than it's worth.
Also, don't go out a buy a new ipod in hopes that they've fixed it, mine's 5th gen, and if they do have balance control, there's no easy way to tell how to adjust it.
