Setting a ringtone for Blocker Caller/Unknown calls

Most people want to block calls from unknown sources. However I often receive overseas calls where the Caller ID is not sent or from a TravelSim service.
My iphone 4S is SILENT when then these calls are incoming which means I miss them if I don't happen to be looking at the iphone at the time! Is there any way to turn ringtones ON for such calls? I can't find anything in Settings are any comment on the web.
I tried setting up Blocked Caller and Unknown in my Contact List but that doesn't work - as you might expect.

You can create a silent ringtone very easily, then renaming it as silent and adding it to your existing list of ringtones. I've done it for users whom I do not want to be interrupted by.
I too would appreciate the ability to send anonymous / blocked / unwanted nuisance callers direct to voicemail but I don't think it is currently available. Perhaps this option might be added to the wish list on a later iOS update?

You can set up each one of your contacts with a ringtone and use the default for all other unknown numbers. There is no way to set up a ringtone for unknown numbers.

YOu can't use the whole song for a ringtone, you would have to create one 30 second or less.
YOu can download an app to create the ringtone.

hi!, i got my iphone friday night and ive tried setting different ringtones for different people..but it doesnt work...my normal ringtone is disturbed..when my friends call..i want it to be different for each one of them..i changed it in the contacts...everytime they used to call it would say there name..ever since i put the ringtone in..the phone doesnt recognize the contact?

Try a reset and/or restore.

Hi Bahlul,
I don't see such a feature on CUCM where you can have a separate ringtone for a Directory number based on the calling party number. Even to have separate ringtones for different lines on the same IP phone you need to play with Distinctiveringlist.xml , but that too does not fit your requirement as it will always be the same ringtone for all the calls on that line. You may probably get this feature through some third party solution but i am not sure if it would be worth it for applying it on one phone only.

IPhone 4: Setting different ringtones for contacts not working.

I can't add personal ringtones for each contact. I have followed all contact editing info to the letter, yet I still only get the same one ringtone for each contact (the default ringtone I set for the phone). Setting different ringtones for text messages works fine, but not for telephone contacts. Is this feature broken? Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks.

It happened to me also when I first added specific ringtones to contacts, but just turning the phone off/on fixed it for me. You can try a reset also if that doesn't work (hold down the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the Apple logo comes up)

Is there an option or way that allows you to set a ringtone for text messages. I previously had a Samsung Instict with another carrier and you could do that as well set ringtones for your contacts. Perhaps this will be in a new software update?? Thanks

N97: Can you set a ringtone for all unknown caller...

I just moved to a Nokia N97 from a Palm Treo Pro. So far so good, but one thing I cannot seem to find any information on is whether or not you can set ringtones for all unknown callers, like you can on a palm? This was one of my favorite features for palm phones.
If you cannot set a specific ringtone for all unknown callers on the handset itself, does anyone know of an application I can download that would enable this?

While you're waiting for that application. You can put everyone in a group and set specific tones for each group then the default ring tone will sound when unknown people call you

Would like another recorded message for blocked caller to hear

Who elso would like Verizon to change or make options to the current message that blocked callers hear? The current recording that the blocked caller hears when they call our verzon line says something to the effect that we have placed calling restrictions that prevents them from completing the call. I would like Verizon to change this to a more generic message or a busy signal.

You may want to use something like YouMail where you could block calls and set your own greeting.

Samsung Stratosphere set own ringtone for txt and pic messaging??

I have been able to set my own ringtones for Email alerts but can't figure out how to set my own ringtones for txt msgs other than the ones already on the phone.
for email alerts I went to My Files app and found the music i wanted that i put in folder saved ringtones.. The I hit the menu button on bottom left of phone and selected Set as. And chose Phone ringtone.
Just can't find similar path to set for Txt and Pic messaging.

Go to Messaging. Then Menu > Settings, and scroll down to the Notification settings area, where Select ringtone is an option.

Differing ringtones for internal calling versus external incoming calls

I have a Cisco IP Phone SPA 303. I am trying to figure out a way to have a different ringtone when we are calling internally within our system versus what we hear when an outside customer calls in.
