Setting a valid range for a motor

I have been pulling my hair out thinking of this one!
I thought I had it but no such luck.
Here is what I need to do.
I have a stepper motor and each step is counted, if a limit switch closes telling the software that the motor has fully opened then the motor should reverse, same thing with the closed limit switch at the other end. There is a valid range in which the switches can close, anything else will cause a fault.
But here is the tricky part, if a limit swith isn't detected within 500 steps of an upper or lower step value then the motor should reverse anyhow.
The outputs I need are:
Direction(toggles)
Step(each pulse steps the motor)
I'm using Labview 4.0 so If you wish to show me anything I'll need a graphi
c only.
I'm displaying what I have as a graphic.
btw the whole limit swithing test is in the top left corner.

If i try to just tell you what you want is,you are looking for control which automatically detects the 500 steps and it must reverse the direction of what was previous,if i am right,this is the solution you will have a count of steps from the upper or lower step so you put a OR condition for the limit switch control,and keeping track of the present of the direction and inverse it using SHIFT REGISTER, i am sorry if i have usderstood a wrong thing,plz expalin if i am wrong.

I have a query in validating the date field in my BSP application. My application is for maintain infotype 0023 Other/Previous Employers online by employees in the company.
As per our design we are maintaining the all employment details of the employee both ( with in the current company / previous employment outside the company) in the same infotype.

How can I set an validity date for a given vendor?

Hello,
we are currently trying to set a "validity date" for vendors.
Basically, our vendors need to be audited, and are "accepted" for a period of time, beyond which we'd need to re-audit them.
What we'd like the system to do is block use of the vendor if this date was exceeded.
Anyone has an idea on the way to achieve this?
PS: We know that there is a way to do this at the material level, we instead wish to manage it centrally for the vendor

before doing business with a new vendor for services, our QA group needs to go thru a serie of verifications. We check various things such as insurance, certification,...
Once "approved", the vendor can be utilised by the plant for a certain period of time, after which a "re-audit" is necessary.
What I'd like to implement is a field where the QA group would enter this date, after which the vendor would be automatically blocked for usage.
This would then trigger the "re-audit" followed by the release from QA (who'd re-modify the date with the new one), and so on.
The vendor is not necessarily used for supply chain. Sometimes, it could be for services , maintenance, or other.
Tx for the ideas.

You can't set a start and end date for the date/time field, the best you can do is validate the range after the user has selected it.

I am using labview 8.2
To programmatically assign a range to the y-scale of a plot I use a Property Node for the plot display and adjust Y.Scale.Range.Minimum.
How can I assign the ranges of a plot with multiple y-scales?

One of the problems with using two Y scales is that the display can get very messy is you also want grids on the plot. To address this, I created the attached VI. After allowing the right axis to autoscale, it fine tunes the marker locations so the grid lines for the left and right side overlay each other.
To use it all you have to do is write your data to the graph and then call this VI with a reference to the graph.

Hi,
If you decide later that you require more validity-determining characteristics, you can modify the selection using the report RSDG_CUBE_VALT_MODIFY. In this report, the non-cumulative InfoCube is only changed to the extent that the new validity-determining characteristics are selected and the validity table is reconstructed. The structure of the non-cumulative InfoCube remains the same. You do not have to reload the transaction data for it.

ERROR - "The formula contains a number outside of the valid range"

Hello,
I am using an equation that is returning the error "the formula contains a number outside of the valid range" when the constituent cells of the equation contain a negative number. I have tried using the inspector to format the problem cell(s) differently, but to no avail. The equation works fine in other respects. How is numbers deciding what the valid range for variables in my foruma is?
I've done the math out separately to make sure the equation isn't dividing by 0 or something wacky, but there's nothing wrong with the formula or the result... It should be doing math and it's not!
I haven't found any posts by other users with the same problem.

It would help us if you paste the formula in your post here, exactly as it appears in the cell. Also tell us the values of the inputs to that formula.
Changing a cell's format seldom has any effect on the calculation. Formatting changes how a result is displayed, but not what the result of the formula is behind the screen.

Input range for different channels

Hi,
In one of my experiments, the data I acquire in different channels have different magnitudes (in Volts). Therefore, I am trying to set a different input range to these various channels. Here's a picture (input_range.png) of a part of my VI where I am trying to assign input ranges to the analog input channels.
Channels ai0-7 have the range +/-200mV and channels ai8-15 have +/-500V. I do not have the equipment with me at the moment, so I can't test this. But I am wondering whether this is how you would normally set different input ranges for different channels or whether there's a better way to do this.

However, I am having difficulties in actually acheiving this. Firstly, I don't know how to set up the arrays as he's done there. Secondly, I could not get the auto-indexing to work. I've attached a pic of my attempt. When I try to enable auto-indexing on the right-hand side of the for-loop it breaks the wires and I can't even enable auto-indexing on the left hand side.
Will it be possible to attach a VI for this part so I can see what functions you've used.

Hi Fred,
The answer to both questions is yes. In MAX, in the Channel Configuration Tab of your cFP-AI-100, you can specify your range to be one of a number of settings for current or voltage. To configure separate channels, simply select the channel and then select the range. See the attached screenshot for more details.

External number range for service items?

I want to create Purchase order with services using BAPI. Is it possible to set external number range for the extrow / introw, so that if I need to change a service line item, I will be able to find out which service item needs to be changed.

It depends on whether you have a service master or not.
1. If you have service master, then there will be a service number (just like a material number). You can use that identify which one has to be deleted.
2. If NOT, then they would still send the text for the Service lines (I guess this will be unique for each line item). So, you will have to identify the line to be deleted by that.
Makes sense?
A question - You are saying you will get information to update the PO, but how does the system know which PO to be updated, how are you going to identify which PO needs to be changed?

fallow the path:
Financial Accounting-> Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable -> Vendor Accounts -> Master Data -> Preparations for Creating Vendor Master Data -> Create Number Ranges for Vendor Accounts.
Here you can create number range for vendors. And in number range screen, you have a check box called Ext. If you select this, it will ask you to give your number (means external number system). If you need internal number (Automatic number), do not select this.

In setDomainEnv.sh set debugFlag=false or you can just remove it.
NodeManager is a charm after that. it can take any number of ports.
