Setting alerts in SRM when SRM can't communicate with XI

Hi,
We've configured our SRM system to send XML PO output data to selected vendors via XI. This process works fine 'most' of the time. Recently the SRM system started encountering connection problems with the XI server in that it encounters a timeout error connecting to XI. This error is visible from the SRM SXMB_MONI but not in XI SXMB_MONI.
My question is where and how can you configure the SRM system to generate some kind of an error message/alert if the connection to XI fails?
I've looked through the SRM ALERTCATDEF documentation but didn't quite understand or didn't see the obvious on how to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Jerry

Hi
<u>In SRM system you need to make configuration settings to enable the monitoring
In transaction SPRO, Here is the path</u>
<b>Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM server -> Cross-Application basic settings -> Enable Use of Exchange Infrastructure</b>
<u>Click New Entries.
Select the checkbox -> Use Application Integration Infrastructure</u>
<b>Enable Use of Exchange Infrastructure</b>
Use
Here you determine if Enterprise Buyer is to use the Exchange Infrastructure for communication between system components.
Requirements
You carry out the first installation of an Enterprise Buyer System with Release status 3.5.
Activities
To enable the Exchange Infrastructure for your system, flag the indicator Use Application Infrastucture. The system then exchanges data between system components via interfaces of the Exchange Infrastructure.
Example
Within SRM scenarios, for example, Supplier Self-Services (SUS), you exchange documents between Enterprise Buyer and a SUS System.
<u>Also refer to SICF transaction in SRM system.
Read the details on the link below to configure End-to-End monitoring.</u>

Hope this will help.
Please reward suitable points, incase it suits your requirements.

  • Computer Can't Communicate With Printer

    Hi,
After installing Win 8.1 on two different computers, both have the same printing problem.
The first problem that appears is "Bidirectional Support" must be enabled...  It was enabled in Win 8 prior to the upgrade...
It took awhile to figure out how to enable it, as after every attempt to check the box, the check would disappear after closing and reopening the window.
It turns out that this won't work with the printer connected. After disconnecting the printer the setting will stick, and when the printer is reconnected it stays that way...
Unfortunately this doesn't resolve the problem... Now I get the error that the computer "Can't Communicate With The Printer"
Attempts to reinstall the software\drivers have been for the most part useless... Even after removing the printer in Devices and Printers and uninstalling the software\drivers, the Driver installer insists that the drivers are still installed and will only
"Update" them, or "Install Another Copy"... neither of which resolves the problem...
On one occasion, I was able to get a complete install, but only after doing a search through the Registry and Deleting everything that came up concerning the printer... This still didn't resolve the problem.
On one machine, after doing this, the Print Spooler would hang and run the CPU at 50% indefinitely. After playing around awhile, I found that if I turned off the Print Spooler in "Services" while it was doing this, and then restart it, the file
    would actually print properly...
I have checked the settings in Windows Firewall, and everything for the printer is "Allowed". I even turned the Firewall off to no effect...
This is a Lexmark X5340 USB inkjet printer that works perfectly on the same machines when running Win 7 or Win 8 with all the same connections, software, drivers, and etc....
Is there something different with Win 8.1 than Win 8 concerning printers?

    Hi,
I wanted to let you know that I've stumbled upon a way to get the Lexmark software\drivers to reinstall on the Win 8 to 8.1 Upgrade...
It has to do with the Print Spooler interfering with the uninstall\reinstall process. I had read about a recommendation to turn off the Print Spooler before uninstalling the software quite some time ago, and I had tried that, but it didn't work. Here are
the tricks to get it to work if it isn't too late for you.
Note: Bidirectional Support is needed, and for some reason the upgrade process turns it off. This may also be related to the Print Spooler....
    1) Turn on and hook up your printer... This needs to be done just this one time to get it to show up in Devices and Printers.... Otherwise, all I get with my machine is the Lexmark Fax, and as a result, you can't "Remove" the printer.
    2)  Once the printer is visible in Devices and Printers, unhook it..
    3)  "REMOVE" the Lexmark Printer and Lexmark Fax (if you have one) in Devices and Printers.
    4)  Stop the Print Spooler in "Services"
    5)  Uninstall the software\drivers... In the process of doing this, I got a popup Security message from Windows Firewall concerning "Allowing" Printer Communication... I selected "Allow".
    6) At the prompt from the Lexmark uninstaller, Reboot.
    7)  After rebooting, stop the Print Spooler again.
    8)  Reinstall software\drivers... I used both XP SP3 and Vista Compatibility Mode on different attempts, and both worked... Hook the printer back up when prompted by the installer.
    9)  Unhook the printer again and reboot. Bidirectional Support must be Enabled, and the setting won't stick if the printer is hooked up.. You need to reboot to clear things up before the next step.
    10)  Enable Bidirectional Support and Reboot.   To do this, go to Devices and Printers and select "Printer Properties" and then the "PORTS" tab... The check box is near the bottom.
    11) Set any Printer Preferences you use, if any, and it's ready to go.
I just noticed that when I right click on the Lexmark Preferences, Properties, etc., it is showing two of them for some reason. I don't remember that happening the first time I tried this, but I might have missed it.
I'll need to investigate that a bit.
EDIT... It seems the second printer doesn't show up until after Enabling Bidirectional Support...
I guess that makes a little bit of sense... two printers for two directions.
Thanks for the info.  I found it was necessary to change the print spooler.  You will also need to set another service that is used during printing that provides screen interaction for the print spooler.  Make both of them automatic.

I've seen one other post about this and I've tried the responses to it: trash prefs, rebuild permissions, reboot the computer (let it rest and uplug), trash quicktime receipts and reinstall, uninstall AJA software and reinstall.
The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling my OS.
    I'm on FCP HD.
I can capture and print to tape as an uncontrollable device. But I need to edit to tape tomorrow using the RS-422 to my digibeta deck via the AJA IO. It has worked in the recent past (last month), but in the past two weeks I can't control my deck.
Also, I get the message "This computer does not have any serial ports required by this protocol" when I try to set up a new RS-422 AV device control setting.
    Help!

Jerry, I can't thank you enough. I still have a few hairs left on my head thanks to you.
I downgraded my AJA firmware and that did the trick.
I had been on the phone with AJA last week tryingto fix this problem and we had tried everything except that. You know, the trash quicktime receipts, trash prefs, hard re-boot, etc.
They were stumped and finally decided it was a Mac problem not an AJA problem. Ha! (Very nice folks though.)
Your's was an answer I didn't find anywhere else in all my searching of forums.
    Thanks again!

  • Migration between two environments which can't communicate with each other

My customer is intending to do migration from test environment to production environment using CCM.
But the two environments are not in the same network.
The environments' setting is as blew.
BO TEST Repository can communicate with Web BO Server.
BO PRODUCTION Repository (Cluster environment) can communicate with Web BO Server.
BO TEST Repository and BO PRODUCTION Repository (Cluster environment) are in the different network, they can't communicate with each other.
Setting Target Repository manually in CCM.
    Questions are:
    1. In CCM, as long as both Source Repository and Target Repository can communicate with Web BO Server, the migration will be successful.
       Is that right?
    2. If 1 is not right, is there additional setting should I do?
For example, If I need to open some firewall port?
    3. Is there other attentions should I notice?
    Thanks

    Yes that is correct
    2. If 1 is not right, is there additional setting should I do?
For example, If I need to open some firewall port?
You have another option which is to use the BIAR files. Export your objects to a BIAR file in source environment, and import them from BIAR into the target environment
    3. Is there other attentions should I notice?
when using BIAR files as solution, Make sure that you keep them < 1GB size to avoid corruption
you may have to increase or adjust timeouts on input and output repository servers as well

  • IChat can't communicate with the Jabber account

Got the instructions for "Configuring iChat for Google Talk" from Google at:
    http://www.google.com/support/talk/bin/answer.py?answer=24076
But after adding my Gmail info. I keep getting this error message:
iChat can't communicate with the Jabber account "[email protected]"
Anybody out there come across this and solved this sucker?
    THANKS

    Hi,
You have entered the account info as a Jabber Name and not chosen the Google option
With iChat Open go to the iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts
Click on the Plus Button at the bottom of the List.
In the top item in the new pane Choose GoogleTalk.
Add your ID exactly as it appears when you Log in to the Web Mail page at Google  (Mail seems to except either ending, @google.com or @gmail.com but the Google Talk server does not)
    Enter in the password
    Click the Done button
You should now have  Buddy List that Logs On
In the Account list in iChat you will now have at least three Accounts Listed (the faulty one, the new one and Bonjour)
If you then check the Server Setting tab/button on both the "google" accounts you will find the new one says the server in talk.google.com
The other will use the last part of your ID  (in your case you entered a name/ID ending @gmail.com).
The reason for your confusion is that those Google Instructions are for iChat 3
You have "Missed" the bit about changing the Server Name in the Server Setting tab to talk.google.com as in fact you can add it as a Jabber account and then change the server name the same way.
You could change the server info in the "old" account or you can highlight it the list then press the minus button to Delete it.
    One other thing.
It is important that Talk is Enabled in your everyday Google Account Setting (Not the mail ones).
This does add the Chat option to the Mail Web page and of course allows iChat to use the GoogleTalk servers.
I have several Jabber Accounts including Google as well as several AIM valid Logins.
I don't find the Google servers go Off line or drop connections any more (Nowadays) than the AIM ones or other Jabber servers.

  • Ichat can't communicate with my jabber account?

For the past week, I have gotten the same error message when trying to logon to my ichat account:
ichat can't communicate with the jabber account... could not connect to host.
I went into the preferences and tried a few different things but nothing worked. I returned everything to the original settings and hoped the problem would solve itself. It did not. I deleted the account and recreated it...still no help.
    What should I do??

    Hi,
In the iChat Menu,  then Preferences chose the Accounts Pane
Then chose the Server Settings tab
    Example
On this pic I have edited out the real Server name.
At the second red Arrow this account is using port 5222 and no SSL to login and Text chat.
If I was logged out of this account then that Text and Port would be Dark (Black) text and would be editable.
Some Jabber Accounts use SSL and iChat will automatically change the Jabber Port listing to 5223
    Googletalk is one of these.
If the Mac Firewall is ON (System Preferences > Security > Firewall tab) and in the Advanced Button "Allow Signed Apps" is enables and iChat is in the list then the Firewall will allow iChat to receive incoming data.
Form there your computer is connected to the Internet.
    This will involve a Modem.
If the Modem is a DSL model then it is likely to Route which is turn means you may have to set up the ports iChat needs there.  (Meaning it is a router/Modem combined)
A cable modem generally does not route and those functions are taken up by a router if you use one.
A Router whether combined or standalone is generally set up using a web browser to access the Interface web pages.
One of the Methods of opening the ports needed is called Port Forwarding  (although some devices do list other phrases such as Services)
Once these are entered they form part of a table.
Generally they list a IP address that those ports will work for.
That IP should be the IP of the computer
    Example of a Linksys page.
Sorry it is blurry but you can make out each port is pointing to IP 192.168.1.100 (although only the top two are Enabled).  The set of iChat ports listed are for iChat 2 and 3. (they will cover those used by iChat 4 and higher)
This listing of an IP restricts the use of those ports listed to that IP (Computer).
IF the router is doing DHCP to Issue IP addresses to the computers the IP that the computer has may change now and then - this will mean the ports listed will not be pointing to the Computer as it now has a different IP
Another method for opening ports is called UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)
This is simple Enable/Disable setting that allows the apps to tell the router to allow the ports it needs.
This also allows multiple computers to use the same ports.
It is fair to say that some brands of router (or Combined device) have UPnP enabled by default so you may never have had to make the settings.
Do you know if this has been done ?

  • IChat can't communicate with my AIM account

Hi, every time i try go to to my ichat it automatically logs me out, and when i try to log back in, it says "iChat can't communicate with the AIM account 'aforever0203' and The AIM server has temporarily limited your account due to too much activity. Try again in a few minutes" This has been happening for days, please help!

    HI,
    Go here https://settings.aim.com/
Can you sign in there ?
This will not work for newer @me.com and @icloud.com IDs issued under iCloud ( I notice there are at least 2 Me Toos clicked)
With Apple IDs there have been issues over the last few months about accounts getting Suspended when people have travelled to foreign lands.
The "normal" fix with AIM names is to Change the Password but obviously changing the Apple Passwords cannot be seen by AIM.
In that case you need This link about Suspended accounts and you need to use the TOS General email address.
(You need to explain very carefully that you have an Apple ID and that AIM cannot see any Password Change and that they will have to reset the account manually - some support staff seem not to know that Apple have an agreement that Apple IDs are also AIM Valid Names)
If it is a plain AIM name a Password reset should correct the issue.

  • Link 1.2.0 says "can't communicate with device"

Hi guys, my z10 running the official version of 10.2.1.537 can't connect to my blackberry link anymore.  I update the link and since then, hasn't been working.  I uninstalled it and re-installed but still nothing.  I get the message on it saying "can't communicate with device" and that i should do a restore back to factory settings.  Does anyone know what to do to solve this issue without having to restore?

There is not anything specific for Mac, did you at least try the below.
    Launch BlackBerry Link.
Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone to the computer.
Note: The following messages should be displayed:BlackBerry Link cannot communicate with the connected device.
Power the BlackBerry 10 smartphone off and then on again.
When prompted again with the error (BlackBerry Link cannot communicate with the connected device.), ignore the warning message, however, do not dismiss or cancel it. Allow the smartphone to fully boot up to the home screen.
After 3-5 minutes the driver should install successfully and allow BlackBerry Link to continue the device setup.
The only other possible resolution is to remove the   "BlackBerry Smartphone Drivers"   reboot Mac and phone then reconnect phone to Mac.

Why my MDM Server can only communicate with ipads and iphones when either of the iPhone or iPad Junos sslvpn?  Any ideas
Our iPad and iPhones users have to log in to Junos SSLVPN to be able to communicate with our MDM Server (via wi-fi).  Any ideas where users don't have to log in to Junos SSLVPN?

This bothers me so much. It is absolutely ridiculous. I use my Apple ID as well as a family member's Apple ID to download music.
Every once in a while I will purchase a song and it won't download correctly or will give me an error that my computer is not authorized, a solution I usually fix by deleting and redownloading the song from the cloud. This doesn't work, however, when it happens to both accounts within 90 days.
It is incredibly frustrating to me that I have paid for a song, it downloaded incorrectly, and I must wait 90 days to try downloading it again because of these assinine policies.

  • Can't communicate with other hosts from primary domain.

Hi all, I add vsw0 as below:
    ldm add-vsw net-dev=e1000g0 primary-vsw0 primary
    ifconfig vsw0 plumb
    ifconfig e1000g0 down unplumb
ifconfig vsw0 (ipaddressofserver) netmask 255.255.224.0 broadcast + up
    mv /etc/hostname.e1000g0 /etc/hostname.vsw0
    init 6
but now I can't communicate with other hosts from primary domain,if I plumb and up e1000g0 and down vsw0 ,everything is OK,what's wrong with it?Thanks.

This is greate!I replaced e1000g0 with vsw0 now.
Could ldm automatic update the ldm configuration parameters?I created a file for the virtual disk, the output of ldm list-bindings as below:
    ......................ignore.............................
    Vdisk: disk0 vol0@primary-vds0
    service: primary-vds0 @ primary
    ......................ignore.................................
but when I updated some other parameters such as vsw, vnet, the vol0 became:
    .................ignore.........................
    Vdisk: disk0 primary-vds0-vol0@primary-vds0
    service: primary-vds0
    .......................ignore........................................
and the same time the primary-vds0-vol0 link with /dev/zvol/rdsk/domdisk/dom1,so the guest domain couldn't get the boot disk,I had to update it manunally.
Did you have the same issue?
    Greetings fenglimian.

  • IChat can't communicate with the AIM account error window! please help!

Hello, I have been trying to connect to my AIM account via iChat and for some reason it doesn't let me. A window saying the following appears:
"iChat can't communicate with the AIM account "name of account".
"An undefined AIM socket error has occurred."
Please help with this. What is going on?

    Hi,
An @Mac.com name is a valid AOL/AIM Screen Name.
Any Issues and the AIM servers will say the AOL/AIM name or password is incorrect.
As I said earlier, there can be issues if when you create an @Mac.com or even a MobileMe account Apple lets you create passwords of up to 20 characters (I think).
The issues is the AIM Server can check the name with Apple but don't parse Passwords that have more then 16 characters (You have to change the Password to 16 characters or less).
    There is also another issue.
Creating a Name at the @Mac.com page allows you to use spaces as valid characters (As In ralph [email protected]) but again the AIM servers cannot parse these names as Spaces are not Valid at AIM
Use iForgot to check the name. You can also change passwords via this.
Use the On Line option and answer the security questions.
That should confirm whether the account/Screen Name/Apple ID works.
Then go to this page https://settings.aim.com/
Use the Sign In option top right.
Enter your @mac.com name and password (It will read AOL at the next page to do that)
If it works properly then you should be returned to the page I linked you to but it will now have your Screen Name showing above the menu area.
This will confirm that the @Mac.com name is accepted as a AIM Screen Name.
If you are still having issues, go to the iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts
In the Account Info tab make sure you are logged out (Deselect "Use this Account")
Go to the Server settings tab
Change the port from 5190 to 443 (it may also pay to deselect SSL)
    Log back in again.
    Deleting com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist may help.
If the issue is an incorrect password you may need to delete the entry from the KeyChain (Use KeyChain Access in the Applications/Utilities folder)
    Hope this helps.

  • "iChat can't communicate with the jabber account, disconnected unexpectedly"

We are running a Snow Leopard server here in the office, but no one can connect to iChat with their given jabber id. I have tried manually putting the settings in, I have tried letting the computer configure them itself [through system preferences -> accounts -> login options and choosing the networked server], and I have gone through the manuals. I have gone into the server itself and made sure everything is on and functioning, but it just won't connect. I keep getting the same message. I'm guessing there's some small setting that I don't have set right, I'm just not sure what it is and don't even know where to start looking.
"iChat can't communicate with the Jabber account "[email protected]". Disconnected unexpectedly"
I've looked through the community and none of the given directions have helped.  I posted on the iChat section, but they suggested I post here. Can anyone out there help me out? We're a small design studio, so we don't have an IT person to do this for me.
    Thanks,
    Gretchen

No, I know, you always have to assume the other person knows nothing   Okay, through some finagling, I managed to save the log to the server, copy it to my computer from there, and now can copy and paste in here. This is all that was in there at this point:

  • I accepted a recent update for iTunes and now my version of Spin Doctor can't communicate with it any more. I don't think I can upgrade the Spin Doctor without buying a new program.  Is there a way to undo the last iTunes update?

I accepted a recent update for iTunes and now my version of Spin Doctor can't communicate with iTunes, specifically, I can't get music files to go over to iTunes.  Spin Doctor gives me a message indicating that iTunes isn't working properly.
I am using iTunes 9.1.1(12) and Spin Doctor 3.1.1.304t.  I have investigated upgrading the Spin Doctor but I think too much time has passed and the version available are too far advanced.
Any ideas?  Can I undo the iTunes upgrade?  Is there a website that I can go to to get the upgrade for my Spin Doctor?
    Thanks.
    Mary

If your iMac is an Intel CPU model, you can upgrade the OS to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Then use software update to update 10.6 Snow Leopard to OS X 10,6.8.
Then you can run the latest iTunes to sync your iPad running iOS 6
You can purchase OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard by calling Apple at 1-800-MYAPPLE. Ask for retail software sales and purchase a copy of 10.6 for $19.99 plus shipping.

  • How can I communicate with other applications from my Java application?

    Hello,
I need help about how can i communicate with other application(say textpad.exe/wordpad.exe/MS word.exe) from my Java program.
More precisely, I need to know how i can get the current position of the cursor whether it is in any .txt/.doc files, then I may write some text in my java application and click a button and then my program will append the line(string) in that position of the file which is running under another appliction(Notepade.exe/MSword.exe).
    Please provide me some help.

I may be wrong (and anyone, please correct me if so), but Java may not be the best tool for something such as this. I envision that you'd have to make some OS calls such as calls to the user32.dll, and while this can be done through the JNI, you'd still have to have a C or C++ program doing the dirty work.

  • Vol_init failed (can't communicate with kernel)

    Hi,
I'm running Sol 2.8 on a sparc SUNW, Sun blade 1000 and having problem
mounting the CDROM. I tried to start vold but
    I'm seeing that /var/adm/messages is logging "vol_init
failed" and "Can't communicate with kernel". I've seen
similar error in the archive but no summary.
    Pls help me on this....
    Amit

check if the following daemon is running. Using command ps -ef | grep vold
if it isn't run the following command:
    /etc/init.d/volmgt start
This will restart volume management and should automatically mount the cdrom whenb inserted into the drive
