Setting Application Default Page

Hi,
I have an application that I want the start page to be the HOME page instead of the LOGIN page. I looked every where in Application Builder but I could not find how to change the start page. Is there a way to change the start page of my application?
Thanks,
Bashar

Scott,
Let me explain the actual problem that caused me to ask the question. I am testing an application that I built using HTMLDB. I created a DNS mapping to the server and I redirected index.html file in the httpd.conf as follow:
RewriteEngine On
Redirect /index.html http://www.AmanaTrans.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=101:1
When I type www.AmanaTrans.com it redirects me to page 1 correctly. Then I click on a tab to go to a page that requires login and I get the login page correctly. Then if I try to login the login page stops logging me in and stops redirecting to appropriate page. It will just stay in the login page without any errors and I am sure the user name and password are correct. If I change the redirect statement to not include a page in the url it will take me to the login page directly and the login page will work correctly. The redirect statement looks like:
Redirect /index.html http://www.AmanaTrans.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=101
I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Bashar

    Hi Daniel,
This issue has already been identified, tracked with bug number *14683491*, and has been resolved in development. The fix will be available in our next release. In the meantime, you can still set Application Defaults using the option available in Application Builder. Navigate to Application Builder, and select the Application Builder Defaults option in the Tasks region to the right of the page, pg 4000:1500.

  • Setting a default page size in Adobe 5.0

    Hi,
I have Adobe 5.0 and need to set a default page print size of legal and landscape.
It seems that no matter what I do when I print it it defaults to letter size. Is there anyway I can set it so legal will come up when I (or anyone) print the document?

You change the printer properties. This is equivalent to putting the proper paper in the printer.

  • How to set a default page setup in P6?

    Hi,
Anyone know how to set a default page setup in P6?
    Thanks,
    Manuel

    Hi Manuel,
For printing, the settings are stored within the layout. If you have one layout containing the settings you use, you can then use this layout as your template and do a 'Save As' every time you make your changes.
    Hope that helps

  • With recent update of Firefox, I can no longer set the default page, it always reverts back to the Mozilla page, why?

Why can I no longer set the default page to something else? Every time I open Mozilla Firefox, it always reverts back to the Mozilla page. No matter how many times I do this, it always reverts.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]

  • Setting Application Defaults by admin

I want to set application defaults for a planning application, such that, when a user logs into the application he sees what I have set as default.
eg. Display Options - Thousands separator :comma
I changed the Applicaiton Settings via Administration and set Thousand Separator:comma. (34,567.00)
But when a new user logs into the application, he does not see the comma. Instead he sees 34567.00.
He then has to go to File->Preferences->Planning and tick the check box 'Use Application Default'.
What purpose does a 'default value' serve if the user has to make this change to see the default?
Or am I doing this wrong? Is there another way such that a user does not have to do anything to see the comma in the values within forms?
    Thanks

I tried the following two scenarios:
    1. create user from scratch.-testuser
That user is getting the default values as set by admin.
    2. For a pre existing user -jsm,taken from the clients active directory, whose id had been provisioned to test the forms, the default settings are not getting applied.
Both users are using the same application and have the same provisioning.
So why is scenario 2 not picking up the correct default settings ?
Could it be due to any of the reasons below?
    a. SHe tried setting her own user preferences at some point. Hence she has to manually select the 'use application default' to get the default settings.
    b. I changed the application default settings today to 'comma' and hence I have to restart planning services

  • Setting Book Default page in runtime

    Hi All,
How to set Book Default page in runtime.
My requirement is based on loged in user group name we have to go to that page, in book there are four pages default is 3 page. based on user login we have to go the pirticular page.
    Thanks,
    Venkaata Sarvabatla

    Hi
I have a similar requirement but the problem i am facing is that the control of the program does not go into the handlePostbackData() method of the desktop backing file. the URL i call from the login JSP is something like: "/../../myDesktop.portal" where myDesktop.portal is the desktop portal file having books and pages. Page1 is the default but based on an input i need to redirect to Page2 instead of landing on the default Page1. I wanted to give the redirect logic in the handlePostbackData() method but the control does not go into the method. I also tried giving sth like : "/../../myDesktop.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Page2" but it still renders the (default) Page1.
Do you have an idea what would I be possible missing out on or doing wrong here. Thanks.
    I am using struts portals.
    Thanks

  • Inability for Safari to quit or set home default page

Is there a workaround to get Safari to quit? Also how to go about setting a default page? The other thing that Safari lacks is the ability to have a choice to save your username and passwords for secure sites. Safari seems to just keep the username and password automatically. How insecure is that.

Pogue said the same thing to me when I emailed him about the inability to quit the first open web page, and as a non-tech person I am finally beginning to understand the point. But seems to me you still need a home page so that you can get the red "x" delete to appear on all other open web pages (e.g., there are some pages that a person might not want to remain open). Your point is you can get the equivalent of a home page by editing your bookmarks so "NY Times" or whatever is at the top. Thanks for straightening me out on this.

  • How do I set a default page size, orientation, and printer for a particular document in Pages?

I have a simple label document in Pages which I print to my label printer. The label is 1.49 x 3.47 inches and needs to print in Landscape, and it needs to print to my Dymo label printer. How do I set up the Page Setup or Print Setup so it defaults to this document size, orientation, and printer, every time, without me having to manually enter those settings every time?

Thank you for your reply. However, I could not get Templates to work correctly for me.  Following your instructions, I opened my document, opened Page Setup, set the printer, paper size, orientation, and printed a copy to make sure it was right. Then I re-opened Page Setup to verify that the settings were still correct. Then I saved the document as a Template. Then I found my template in Pages, opened the template, and tried to print. The first thing I noticed was that the template did not remember my printer. Then I set the printer, and printed, but I found that the template also did not remember the page size or the document orientation. So, did I miss a step here? Lion 10.7.5 and Mac Mini.

  • How do I set the default page when I select "+" for a new tab? Right now it defaults to Yahoo search and I want to set it to my Speed Dial page. I did have the default page set to Speed Dial but I can't find anywhere how I did it in the past.

You can set the homepage for opening tabs, but I can't find the setting for designating what page opens when I hit the + button on tabs.
This is the page that loads:
    http://search.yahoo.com/?fr=freeze&type=W3i_NA,132,3_6,Tab%20Search,20100937,6693,0,16,0
How did Yahoo embed this in the Tab settings?

Firefox '''does not''' come with a setting for a page that opens in a new Tab, the default installation always opens a blank page when you open a new Tab. Many extensions include a feature to open their choice of a webpage when you open a new tab, as does the Speed Dial extension which uses a "local page" internal to Firefox.
You need to figure out which extension has taken over that preference that Speed Dial needs to use. You didn't bother providing a Troubleshooting Information... listing as requested when you asked this question, but I can guess your problem is related wither a Yahoo extension or a Conduit / OurToolbar extension - as there is a plugin listed = Package Installer & Install Conduit.

  • How do you set a default page?

In JSF how do I set up a default page? Normally I would build a page called "index.htm" and the server would return this in response to requests containing no specific resource information (e.g. www.myweb.com).
I tried to do this in JSF and I get an error, "javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot find FacesContext"
    Thanks.

    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>*.faces</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    thast prob what you have?
    so if you had
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jsf</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    you would redirec to yourFirstJSFPage.jsf

  • How do I set a default page size?

When Firefox opens, pages are displayed in about 1/3 the size of the screen. I would like to be able to set a default display size for all pages, in the same manner that I can set a default zoom in Google Chrome.

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

  • How to set the default page size ?

    Hi there,
    I just bought a 15.4" Macbook Pro.
When I use Safari to surf, I found that the image/fonts are to small for my liking.
So I did VIEW > ZOOM IN two times & the image/fonts & it become satisfactory.
But after I shutdown & restart the laptop again, I find that whenever I startup, the page in Safari when back to the smaller setting & I have to click VIEW > ZOOM IN twice again .
My question is how to make this settings permanent ? It is irritating having to do VIEW > ZOOM IN everytime I start up the system !!
    Any ideas ?
    Thnaks

In Safari, go to Safari >> Preferences. Click on the Appearance tab. Set the standard and monospaced fonts. That not only sets the default fonts for web pages (many web-sites will specify other fonts), but also the default sizes (though web-sites can specify alternate sizes). Also, on the 'Advanced' tab, there's a checkbox labeled 'Never use font sizes smaller than' followed by a drop-down. This permits you to prevent the text from going beneath the specified size.
The advanced tab also permits you to provide a CSS stylesheet to apply as the default. If you know CSS, this can be very powerful.

  • Programatically set PUBLIC DEFAULT PAGE

I am aware that you can change the default page for the PUBLIC user by editing the user preferences. We can NOT ask our customer to do this and need to do it programatically after install.
I have not been able to find any api (except for wwsec_app_user_mgr.edit_user which errors due to lack of session context - I think) nor can I find the table that this preference is stored in ie it doesn't seem to be in WWSEC_PERSON$.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Double click on ur application. There in Webdynpro Components, select TableComp instead of ExcelExportComp
