Setting apps with passwords

my son who has autism has an ipas2 wifi for home and school. he has several apps that we have set up as free choice items. but if you turn your back he is into them. so i have set them up in one of those menu boxes. can i setup that menu box with a pasword so that he has to finish his tasks before he can play.

I assume by 'menu box' that you mean an app folder - and no, they can't be protected by passwords. Depending on what the actual apps are, you might be able to hide some of them via the app age rating setting in Settings > General > Restrictions, but apart from what you can do via Restrictions you can't hide anything else.

Restricting Specific Apps with Password

Sorry to ask such a simple question but I can't seem to get searching successful.
Is there a nice App which would restrict access to specific applications on the phone to a password?
I have a grandson who enjoys listening to music on iheart and youtube but it would sure be nice to keep him from opening the ebay app and bidding on items or replying to messages.

I know that you can set a specific app to use background data or not,I do not know if you can manually set exactly what you want it to use.

Downloaded the new 5.1.1.OS and now unable to access "my apps" with password

I downloaded the new 5.1.1. OS and now I am unable to access my App Store with my password, now what? It erased all of my contacts as well and I wasn't able to restore my phone either.

Try placing the iPhone in recovery mode ...

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

Migration assistant built mac makes me validate apps with password, fix?

I built an Imac using Migration Assistant. Now when I run an app it prompts me to put in the password for the account I purchased the app. The error says that this app was purchased with a different account. Then I put in the password and the app works fine.
I guess I could build the computer from scratch, (yes, I know, I should of had a good backup).
The real reason I did it was that my laptop was not "upgraded" to Lion. So I wanted my Imac rebuilt the same way.
Any suggestions for fixing this problem?

Creating app with password-protected folios to restrict who can read content

I have a customer who wants to put business-sensitive content onto iPads for a specific department. It's important that competitors can't see this content, so it can't be available freely through the app store.
Is it possible to distribute a Folio file as a stand-alone app without it being readily available to the public (and competitors) through the app store?
If not, is it possible to create an app for the App Store, and password-protect the folio file within it, either by requesting a password on load or by including a password block on the first page within the InDesign design?

Cant access bridge apps with password enabled on my bb

Im having a problem where i cannot access any bridge apps because my bb is password protected. whenever i attempt to open an app i get an error message saying "bridge disconnected 'password is incorrect. please try again" but it never gives me an opportunity to enter my password. Also the message stay on-screen so the playbook is unsuable unless i restart it by holding the power button.

Try removing the BlackBerry Bridge App from the BlackBerry smartphone and and disable any connections between the PlayBook and BlackBerry smartphone. Now pair your devices and start the BlackBerry Bridge process from the beginning. Let me know if that got you anywhere.

Starting an app. with password

Hi,
My problem can be a simple one but i am not sure. I want to
get password for the application from System.in, but characters
are echoed. I could not find a method/way for preventing this.
I do not want to use JNI for such a simple thing, so
do you know how i can prevent characters being echoed?

Try spraying random characters out to the screen whilst the user is typing in the password.
(not my idea, I saw someone else do this)

Yes, I was referring to the iTunes ID not needing to be the same as the ID used for iCloud. In order to set up an Apple ID your children will need to have a valid email address that can be verified by Apple. Apple requires this so they have a way of contacting the owner if there is a problem with the account, such as when you may need to reset the password on the account. When you set up the ID, Apple will send a verification email to this email account and you will need to click on the verificating link in the email to complete the process. If they don't currently have an email account you can just set one up with gmail or another free email hosting service. They don't have to use the account but you will need it to set up the ID.

Since the applications were purchased on the older account, you will need to log into that account to update them. The newer account will not recognize the purchases because they are not a part of the purchase history for the specific account.

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.

Try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
