Setting as "clipping" an existent path

Hi!
Suppose i have a path, that is named "Path1". Ho can i set by script to assign "0,5" px to that path, so it become a clipping path?
Thanks to all guru of scripting!

hi,
if your configurin virtual hosting...i would prefer to update it through from front end(em console) because
configuration changes are effected immediately,because the OHS server is automatically bounced when you modify the configuration from em console
now as you have made the changes directly through httpd.conf file,run the command
dcmctl updateconfig -v
This should solve your problem.
Take a backup of httpd.conf file before making the changes

  • How can I add to an existing path using the pencil tool?

    This probably seems like a rather elementary question, but
    whenever I draw a path using the pencil tool, reselect it,
    hover over the endpoint, and the click and drag to extend
    the line off into a different direction, Illustrator will often
    (but not always) erase the existing path and leave only the
    new one that I drew.
    To wit:
    In step 1 above, I draw a line with the Pencil tool.
    In step 2 above, I reselect the line from step 1, hover over the endpoint, and then continue to draw further.
    However, as can be seen in step 3, the line from step 1 disappears after I draw the new path.
    I am aware of the pencil setting, "Edit selected paths", and I have checked it to edit selected paths
    within 12 pixels for the above example. What I am doing in the above example, and what I
    want to do, is to be able to add more paths onto an existing one using the pencil tool,
    rather than have a completely new path being drawn every time I lift up my pen to finish
    drawing the previous path.
    I also realize that I can do this with the pen tool; but the pen tool is a more
    precise tool (and somewhat more cumbersome), and I prefer to have more
    of the rough-handed look from time to time.
    Finally, I also know that I can use the direct selection tool to select endpoints
    from two different paths and then join them using the join command;
    but this seems to be more trouble than it's worth in many cases, especially
    if I want to do it frequently for a more long and complicated line.
    Am I expecting too much out of Illustrator?
    Is my idea of how to use the existing tools wrong in this case?
    Is there some piece of knowledge I'm missing?
    I'm on Illustrator CS5, Mac OS X 10.6.8, using a Wacom Intuos4 tablet.
    However, I have confirmed the above on Illustrator CS4 for Mac as well.
    Any help or comments would be much appreciated.
    Jeff

    Thanks @rcraighead - the Live Paint process seems a bit overkill for simply adding
    a new path onto an existing pencil path, but I did try the first idea you suggested,
    which was tracing a bit over the last part of the existing path and then continuing
    on to extend the path. It's a bit imprecise because the existing path gets slightly
    modified, but it seems to work pretty well all in all. Nice idea indeed - thanks a million.
    I also found that in AI CS5, I can use the selection tool to select all of the paths
    in this case and then join them using the join command. I thought I needed to
    select individual anchor points for this to work, but it actually works really
    well, better than I thought. I seem to recall that previous versions of Illustrator
    were a lot more picky with the Join command, but then again this might just
    have been my lack of understanding.
    I'm curious to know what other solutions to the above problem that other users
    might have, so I will leave this question unanswered for a bit...
    but I will use your initial technique described - it seems to work
    pretty well, in absence of other options Many thanks again for your timely help.
    Jeff

  • Brush sometimes adds to existing path and sometimes starts new one?

    When drawing a path with the brush tool and then placing the brush back over an anchor point to continue the path, sometimes it continues the path and sometimes it deletes the path and just starts a new one. Why does it sometimes add to the existing path and sometimes start a new one?
    Thank you.

    If you have the path slected, wil edit the path, if it is not slected will create a new path. Aslo there si a distance withing 12 pixels is what I am set to. You can increase that valeu if you find you are getting too many new paths.

  • UD - Selected set code does not exist

    Dear All,
    We have create material in 0001 plant. It is consumable material and QA is not required. But by mistake Inspection flag was activited in material master.
    Now material received is in QA Stock. We have created inspection plan and not inspection lot is in REL status.
    During UD system shows following message :
    "Selected set code does not exist, or data entered is incomplete"
    Is there any way to take stock in unrestricted without doing any QA activity ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nirav

    Hi,
    Why don't you simply complete the Stock posting using 'Inspection lot stock' tab in QA32?
    If you only need to take the stock out of QI and doesn't need Usage decision then why do bother about it.
    Besides, this error comes when the UD selected set defined in Configuration is not maintained for the Plant.
    To check this, Follow this path,
    QCC0> Quality inspection> Maintain inspection type. Select the Relative inspection type and see what is maintained.
    Once you maintain this Selected set for the plant 0001 using QS51, you won't get this error. Other way, define that selected set in the configuration which is already maintained for the plant.

  • Warp tool following an existing path

    Does anyone of You have an idea if its possible to make the Warp Tool (or any of the liquifying tools) follow an existing path (comparable to the Stroke Path-function in Photoshop)?
    What I want that for is to simulate one of the effects occasionally applied on banknotes where a regular line-pattern is regionally slightly offset within the area of some shape without breaking the lines, as seen here left of the portrait and above the guilloche:
    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:20_ATS_banknote.jpg
    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Christoph,
    Did you find an answer to the modulation effect?
    I downloaded Excentro but am unable to place art as is suggested by Excentro in order to use the stroke width modulation feature.
    I am trying to achieve the same effect you described but cannot seem to find any info from Excentro as to how exactly to place the art in order to then perform this miracle. Is it possible that this feature does not work with Excentro Lite? Maybe one must pay the $500.00 in order to create this effect.
    I imported both types. A photoshop greyscale image tiff and a vector pdf. Both were denied by the program.
    "5. Stroke width modulation and reliefs
    The stroke width of background paths can be changed by either modulation settings specified by the user or by the pixel value of the underlying grayscale image. In the similar way portions of paths located over non-white areas of the underlying image can be offset to create bas-relief like effects.
    Any graphics file in common image formats (raster TIFF or vector PDF) can be imported into an Excentro document to be used with this feature. You can even apply Step & Repeat sets to the images to vary its position, size, brightness or contrast."

  • How to set up TimeCapsule (4th) to create own private (wired) network behind Airport Express (5th) that is set up to join existing wifi-network of fritz adsl modem/router?

    I work in an office building with free Wifi to connect to the Internet. I want to be able to use this internetconnection, but at the same time I want to shield of my own wired network.
    I've made the following configuration:
    - fritz adsl modem / router
    - Airport Extreme (5th gen) set up to join existing wireless network (green light, works)
    - Lan-cable from lan-port AE to wan-port TC (4th gen)
    - Lan-cable from TC to Mac
    - Lan-cable from TC to Printer
    When I set my TC (network-settings) in bridge-mode everything works fine, but my Mac and Printer get an IP-address from the fritz modem / router and are visible to others.
    I tried to set TC in NAT/DHCP-mode, but then I get the error message that I should set a static IP-adress for TC. When I set TC in DHCP-mode, it looses connection to the AE. I'm not sure what to do now. Does anyone know how to set up my TC and create my own private network and still be able to get on the internet?

    Hajenius wrote:
    Is there a better alternative? I'd rather not want to reset my TC every day.
    You are using free internet.. so there is a price to pay.. that is convenience and non-ideal network setup.
    The better alternative is to pay for your own connection. Then you are completely free of the possibility of others in the bullding seeing your connection. (as long as you secure the wireless).
    But I think you are probably over worrying about public wifi.. if it is setup right.. ask the building admins.. it should be setup so each user cannot see another users connection. This is typical for most wifi setup and simply means you can see internet connection but nobody else on the connection. ie other wireless users.
    Having a router with NAT makes it then more secure again and allows clients on your own network to interact with each other. But you can setup wireless to the free wifi for every client.. (depending on how many IP you are allowed).. and run a secondary network without internet access. This is easy for desktop etc where you have a wireless and a wired connection but less convenient for mobile devices.. unless you use a cloud connection and each client can link and share via that.
    Have I made the explanation worse??
    Think of it this way.. if you had 3 laptops.. all 3 could connect to the internet from the building wifi.. but they cannot talk to each other or share resources in local office. You can put resources out in the cloud, that can be shared.. but that adds traffic and most free services are not fast.
    Now you can also plug all three into Time Capsule by ethernet.. and share local resources. Files, printers backup etc. This network is not connected to the internet at all. Each laptop has internet via free wifi and local connection.
    For devices like iphones that have no ethernet or other method.. you could use local wireless and public wireless.. but in turns.. still the only advantage is less issues with double NAT.. if that causes problems.. then this is an alternative.

    I have moved to uk from ireland and bought new iphone, set up using my existing Apple ID account and profile but won't let me buy install or update apps??
    Can anyone advise me on what I need to do?
    My existing account is linked to ireland as my bank account details are there, does this make a difference?
    Please help!

    Until you get a UK bank account and credit card, buy and redeem UK iTunes gift cards for use in the iTunes and Mac App Stores. But you need to switch your region/country to the UK store in your account information, as you can't use UK iTunes gift cards in the Irish stores, the gift cards are country specific.

I do this and wait for several minutes for the password dialogue box to open, enter my password. then wait and wait until my pw is recognized. Accept agreement. Please do not duplicate a thread. The threads are answered as soon as possible. We are not Adobe. Just user to user.
    I have answered your most recent of the duplicates
    Premier Elements 13 Organizer Works. Editor doesn't. Log in doesn't work
    It is uncertain just how far we can go to help you since you do not appear to have Premiere Elements any
    longer.Seems you demanded a refund from Adobe Chat, got it, and now are left with a non purchased program which I
    am not sure can be used.
    Duplicates tend to confuse the person asking the question as well as those attempting to reply. As I suggested in the
    above mentioned thread, try to sort out your situation with Adobe via its Adobe Chat.

    Hello,
    Open the configuration file with notepad, then go to the “features” variable. On the following article you will find what
    means each parameter:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259(v=sql.110).aspx#Feature
    You will also find the list of features supported by each edition on the following article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Cc645993(v=sql.110).aspx
    For example, it seems you have DQ and DQC on that configuration file, please remove them with their corresponding commas.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Alberto Morillo
    SQLCoffee.com
    Thanks Albert that worked when I just selected the main features and excluded ones like DQ and DRC. Thing is why would the standard media allow you to install enterprise features, create a configuration file with these enterprise features and then fail?? Why
    would Microsoft tease you like that? Frustrating since I spent hours on this ..

  • One set of clips won't sync when trying to create a Multicam clip

    I am trying to create a multicam clip using one long audio track, several clips from one camera and several clips from another camera. All three have audio recorded from the same shoot. One camera angle successfully synchronises with the audio track, placing the clips in the correct positions and leaving blank spaces where I don't have a clip. The other set of clips do not sync. It puts them in order by not synchronised. I have named camera angles and camera in the meta fields. Can anyone help? The camera which seems to sync ok was a canon XA10 the camera which doesn't is a canon 60D. The 60D took its audio teach from the linear PCM recorder I used for the Audio track. (It's still a little noisy in case anyone wants to know why I'm still using the PCM track). Can anyone help? I tried to call apple but seemingly they won't help unless I get an error message.

    You could probably generate the content of the end file
    separately, before including it in the final file to be accessed by
    the user.
    You could do this using CFSAVECONTENT
    <cfquery name="getprinthtml" datasource="#dsn#">
    SELECT abstractDirectory
    FROM Abstract_tbl
    WHERE (Abstract_ID IN (#url.abslist#))
    </cfquery>
    <cfsavecontent variable="theBody">
    <cfoutput query="getprinthtml">
    <cfinclude
    template="/uploads/#getprinthtml.abstractDirectory#/#getprinthtml.abstractDirectory#_prin t.html">
    <hr>
    </cfoutput>
    </cfsavecontent>
    then use
    theBody as a variable containing the entire contents at one
    time when you generate the final Word doc so it does not have to
    run any looping at that time.
    Other than that, is there any chance the query is really only
    picking up one row based on the cirteria ?

  • Option in dialogue NOT to cut of ends of existing paths when adjusting paths

    more often than not when I draw with the pencil tool to adjust a paths course, it will delete one of the ends, either the longer or shorter side, this is not what I want, I want to simply adjust the course of the path during its journey, without losing either of the ends, it takes tedious trial and error to get it right and not lose the path, often I just end up deleting the whole path and redrawing it from scratch, which is not why I like the path adjustment option with the pencil tool,
    I like to sketch out my paths to lay them down, then refine them with the path adjustment pencil option working back and forth in this manner..
    if I draw over one part of the path, continue its journey like a river in another direction and cross back over that path,I want that middle section between those 2 points overlapping the original path to be redrawn, but leave the ends intact as they were...
    so If I choose edit selected paths, wherever I draw over with the pencil tool on the selected existing path (in yellow below), the adjusting path is green, the original cross over points are circled in orange,
    Shown here even If I consequently draw over that path several times, whereever the adjusting path (green) last crosses over the underlying selected path (yellow)  will be where the adjustment ends. Ideally you wouldnt have to worry about how close you "start" the adjusting path, aslong as it crosses over that path,
    so end result here, while not accurately displaying adjustment path above, you still get the idea,
    but this would be a lot simpler than having to get within "x" amount of pixels to the line, and totally avoid the lost ends of original path sydnrome.
    but if thats what you want,then as is currently available, where the green path crosses over the original yellow path, this continues the yellow path from that direction in the direction the green path is being drawn, then where the green line last crosses over the yellow path, the option to continue its line versus completing the yellow lines original end journey. so effectively a tickbox option in dialogue like"continue adjustment path if last crossover beyond x pixels or points" on the HUD display I suggested, as result below,
    the thing with this method is it avoids the annoying and frustrating event of losing either the long or short side of the existing path..and allows quicker easier path editing.without having to pinpoint the pencil tool on the existing path or get it extremely close, thats allright when your pen tooling, but I pencil tool more often in the beginning as I do animals, flowers, faces and figures which are more organic and sketchy. then refine with pen and warp tools after..

    where you cross an existing path with adjustment path on only one point, the previous line will question which of its sides from that point you want to keep, the start of its line to the adjusting paths cross over point, or the cross over point to the end of that line being adjusted,
    a radio circle option in the HUD display could allow "keep long" or "keep short" as in keep the longer side of the line, or the shorter side measured from the cross over point to the either end of the line..
    i`ll post a video next week to illustrate what I`m trying to say here..

    I added music to a set of clips but want to stop the music there and have no music in the rest of the movie. How do I do that?

    there are two ways applying music to an iM project

    as 'Background' which offers lots of automatisms, but lil' control
    or…

  • Set SoD detour condition on path level?

    Dear forum,
    We have a parallel workflow where the different paths are divided by business processes.
    We want that SoD free paths continue as normal. Problematic paths are sent for resolution.
    The problem as I see it is that the SoD detour condition is set on request level, not path level. Both problematic and non-problematic paths will meet the condition and are pushed into the detour. The non-problematic path will get stalled, because it has to wait for mitigation approval.  Is there any workaround?
    Kind Regards,
    Vit V.

    Hi Jose,
    We have different detour paths for every parallel path. But if any SoD conflict is detected, the SoD condition is met for all paths and are pushed into the detour(s). Have you successfully tested it?
    Example:
    Main Paths
    P1
    P2
    P3
    Stages
    _1: Manager
    _2: Role Owner
    _3: BPO (CAD business process of role)
    P1_1
    P1_2
    P1_3
    P2_1
    P2_2
    P2_3
    P3_1
    P3_2
    P3_3
    Detours (1-stage with mitigation controll approver)
    P1_DT
    P2_DT
    P2_DT
    SoD detour takes place at stages:
    P1_2
    P2_2
    P3_2
    Problem 1: If the SoD conflict condition is met, all paths are pushed into their detours
    Problem 2: Let say we have two paths with SoD conflicts, a third one is not. Two mitigation controlls are applied. All three paths are pushed into their detour paths for mitigation approval.
    Worst case scenaro:
    Conflicting path 1: Mitgation Approver 1 approves
    Conflicting path 2: Mitgation Approver 1 + Mitgation Approver 2 Approves
    Non-conflicting path:  Mitgation Approver 1 + Mitgation Approver 2 Approves
    kind regards,
    vit v

  • Compounding existing paths into compoundpathitems with javascript

    Im not very familiar with Scripting for Illustrator, so please forgive me if Im overlooking something obvious, but I cant seem to find an easy way to compound existing pathItems into a compoundPathItem; do I have to collect the pathPoint-properties of the existing path and create a new path within a new compound path?
    Any help appreciated.

    I had a hard time figuring this one out too, but stumbled upon the solution. This snippet of code loops through all of the layers of the file, creates a new compound path in each layer, loops through all of the paths in the layer (ignoring the new compound path) and moves them to the compound path. You have to reset the counter as the number of items in the layer changes each time you move an item to the compound path.
    var NumberOfLayers = thisFile.layers.length;
    for(i = 0; i < NumberOfLayers; i ++) {
      var newCompPath = thisFile.layers[i].compoundPathItems.add();
      newCompPath.name = "MyCompPath";
      var NumberOfItemsInLayer = thisFile.layers[i].pageItems.length;
      for(j=0;j<NumberOfItemsInLayer;j++)  {
        var SelItems = thisFile.layers[i].pageItems[j];
        if (SelItems.name != "MyCompPath")   {
          SelItems.moveToBeginning(newCompPath);
          var NumberOfItemsInLayer = thisFile.layers[i].pageItems.length;
          j = 0

  • Multiple Sets of Clips Not Needed

    When I import video from a camera, it creates multiple sets of clips. I am trying to edit the video to a supplied exact times and because there are multiple sets of clips, its not easily able to figure out where an exact time of the entire video is.
    My question would be, is there an easy way, within, iMovie to combine all the clips as one, or import the video so it doesn't create multiple clips? Or even say that I'd like to select say: 0:40 to 2:32 of the entire import as my Favorite.
    Thanks,
    Peter

    OK. I took out the extra comma. Put a space in after *survey*
