    setting audio record path?

Let me guess - your tempo's set to 120 and 4/4 time, right?
The limit is on the number of quarter notes Logic can handle (8550).
Set your song length to max (2158), reduce your tempo, and/or adjust your time signature. Example, temp 60, 4/8 time will give you 2hrs 22minutes of recording.
    good luck

  • How do i download a audio recording from email without using dropbox

I received an e-mail with an audio recording from my yoga teacher.  On my PC I was able to click on the "address" and download it directly to my docs.
But I'd like to have it on my Mac Air notebook so I can have it with me when I travel.
However, when I click on the "address" to download it takes me to a dropbox sign-up page.  I'd rather not sign up with dropbox.
    Any iseas? Thanks. vee913

Right click on the attachment and look at the options.

  • Audio recorded from lavalier mic is not audible when printing to tape

    hello!
i am very confused : ( i have an edited work with some audio recorded directly from the built-in camera mic, and most of the audio from a lavalier (lapel) mic. all the audio plays fine from the timeline, and from the "print to video" play back option, when the video playback is set to "none" or "preview"; however, when it is set to ntsc (which i believe i need in order to print it back onto a mini DV tape to submit it) only the audio recorded with the built-in camera mic is clear and audible. the other recorded sounds from the lav mic are very quiet (or silent) and have static noises.
i have exported the timeline and burnt it to a dvd, and all the audio works fine. but i can not seem to print it to a tape without losing most of the audio.
i have tried all different combinations of settings (audio to built in audio, or to firewire), etc etc and nothing seems to fix this problem.
any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! thanks : )

You might try highlighting all the audio tracks
then go to the MODIFY drop down - AUDIO - PAN CENTER.
This should make sure all your audio tracks are audible.
Also, I'm not in front of the interface right now,
but if you go to FINAL CUT PRO drop down - AUDIO / VIDEO
SETTINGS, somewhere in there (perhaps in a tab or at the bottom) is a drop down for PRINT TO VIDEO, and there are
some settings there. Make sure it is including all your
audio channels and not set up in some funky way.

  • Change Mixdown from Mono to Stereo

I'm sorry if this has come up previously but I coudn't find anything that exactly related to my situation.
First let me say I bought CS5.5 about two years ago and after trying it a few times, I found I did not like all the "missing functions like Group Tracks and the fact that it seemed to work slower than my old 1.5.
Recently I decided to give it another try and be  patient. I had to assembe two VOs with SFX and various production music beds. When I was happy with the mix, I was ready to do a mixdown...only to discover that my mixdown was in Mono. Mono? I tried to find where to convert it to stereo. After searching help and then this forum, it appears that there is no way to choose Strero or Momo....except apparently only when initially naming the Multitrack session. SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!    Does this mean I have to start all over with a new session file and spend all that time again?   If this is so, WHY would they remove the option to mixdown in Mono OR Stereo which seem so common sense and was an option in previous Audition versions.  I never understood software developers who seem to want to take away functions that worked.
Am I wrong? Is there any way to choose or change a mixdown in a session? I like choice. Choice is good.
    Cheers
    RoosterKoop Ken

For clarity's sake, a stereo track with audio on one side is still a stereo track, not a mono track.  So you're not really changing mono to stereo, you're just routing the active channel to fill both left and right sides.  There are a number of ways to do that.  I like #3 myself.

  • From Mono to Stereo or from one channel to two?

    Hi,
I don't believe it's my camera's fault, because it's a newer HD camera--but for some reason the audio is only coming out in one channel.
I had to convert the file from its native .mts format to a .mp4 format and used Adobe Media Encoder CS4. When converting, I made sure to select Stereo.
Unfortunately, the audio does come out on one speaker only, even though it says Stereo.
I think I might have a misunderstanding between stereo and channels?
Does anyone know how can I easily fix this in Soundbooth? Or is there an option I am missing in Media Encoder?
    Thanks a ton!
    Mario

    Hey!
I actually figured it out (you were on the right track with multi-tracking).
    Here is what you do:
    1. Right click the audio file and select "Insert Channels into New Multitrack File".
    2. Delete the track in the "Audio 3" channel as it should be empty.
    3. Select audio from "Audio 1" channel and just COPY + PASTE -- it should now appear in the "Audio 3" channel.
    4. Copy the new audio track from the "Audio 3" channel.
    4. Delete the audio out of "Audio 1" channel and move the track from "Audio 3" in it's place.
    5. Delete "Audio 3" channel.
    6. Go back to your original file (in the upper right pane).
    7. Select all (CTRL + A) and delete the audio.
    8. Jump back to your New Multitrack File, select all (CTRL + A) and copy it (CTRL + C).
    9. Back to your video file now...and PASTE!
    There ya go!

  • Unable to delete a set of records from PSA

    Hello All,
I am trying to delete a PSA request (INIT With data transfer) which had about crores of records. But in my PSA, I can still see about 16000 records from the earlier deleted request.
Please advice as my next INIT is not brininging in any records. the issue is very critical...
    Regards
    Sneha

    Hi,
Check out for any other History Init Request available in the PSA and delete it. Or use the program - RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY to clean the PSA Completely. Next, check out in the InfoPackage menu, Scheduler - > Initialization for source system, whether there is any successful Initialization request is available or not. If available delete the request by selecting delete from all the systems.
Now, you can again use the Init Infopackage to initialize the delta.
    Regards,

  • Convert audio from mono to stereo

I have imported video and audio from a camera with microphone, and the audio is only playing out of the left speaker. This is despite the fact that both A1 and A2 channels in the timeline appear to have audio. I'm new to this, and any help to get the audio to come out of both speakers would be great!

Oh, wait a minute, I thought you meant you only had one audio track, and wanted its sound to come out both speakers. But now that I read your question again, you say that you have an A1 and A2. In that case, I dunno why you should have one dead audio track, unless you've accidentally turned it off, muted it, over on the left, at the head of the track. Or, if the tracks are not linked, maybe you've accidentally pulled its volume line down to the bottom (that red line running down each audio track that determines the volume level).
If not, somebody else will have to solve that for you. Sorry.

  • Trying to take movie from mono to stereo...

well, fake stereo. I recorded a play using multiple mics, through a board, and into camera resulting in a mono soundtrack in the right channel. OOOPPS. So I thought no problem, I will just dupe the audio and put it in the left channel. The only problem is I still can't get any sound to come out of the left side. Any thoughts?

Another way to do this (I just had to use right channel sound from an external mic on one camera to provide sound for cuts from 2 cameras), is to extract the audio, then locate the extracted sound file within the imovie project.
This file can be imported into the open-source program Audacity (although garageband is supposed to work too, but I found audacity easier), then simply cut the right channel audio and paste to the left channel. Save and you are done.....I might have had to re-paste the extracted sound track into the timeline, but that was it.
Might be the way to go without quicktime pro.

  • Recording in mono, not stereo

i bought a new dv6 laptop.  i do not seem to be able to record in stereo, only mono?

    Hi Ken,
Harm is correct. I believe this microphone is mono-only. Camtasia is recording in stereo, but I'd suspect it's just duplicating the sample data in the Left (mono) channel into the Right channel.
If you save the file as Stereo in the Save As options dialog, it will perform the same function. The audio won't sound any different and will take up twice as much disk space, but will appear with two channels in other applications.

  • Audio in iMovie-  mono to stereo  help please

I have an entire 20 minute project in imovie that was recorded with a at835 mono shotgun mic. The audio sounds fine on my computer but poor and faint on other dvd players with their speakers. I was told that my audio files are in mono and need to be in stereo. How can i do this? and is there an easier way for my future use?

  • Audio Recording, from Mic to computer

    Good Peoples,
I thought that plugging a mic into the mini port on the computer would work for using and external mic. I switched from internal to external in under system preferences but nothing is picked up. The internal mic works. Anyone know about this?
    Much Thanks,
    Jackson

I had a similar problem with an external microphone that didn't need power supply. I checked the source on the sound of the system preferences, and whenever I had the microphone attached, no sound was being input, only sound picked up when I had the internal microphone selected.
This summer for a class project, I thought it was picking up sound while I was recording a movie, using iSight, and when i finished, all i had was the video with no audio. Then I had to re-do the class project.
Did your problem ever get resolved? If so, what did you end up doing to resolve it?

  • Set "audio record volume"  (not amplitude)

I can only use protools with a ipod attached as the "record volume" (destination for session files). any other powerbook uses it's own hard drive for this, but not mine. I've reinstalled pt7. no change
once I came on to a page where you could set up audio volumes, and I can;t seem to get back to it.
    thanks anyone!

Let me answer my own question. Its a protools thing-not a mac thing, like I thought. so if anyone cares- in protools7, menu bar/window-scroll to "workspace", and select what your different drives can do, either record or playback. I don't know why pt has the default as playback only.
