Setting backgroundColor to transparent

Hi All,
I'm using the tree component, and wondered if there was a way
to set the backgroundColor style to "none".
I saw one user used this.tree.setStyle("_alpha","0"); This
had some success, but it also removed all color for my depthColors.
Basically, is there a way to remove background color for the whole
component and still have depthColors?

I opened your sample file and it works perfectly. But when I create something similar myself it simply doesn't work. I created a brand new file, inserted an image, and inserted a textbox on top of it. I gave the textbox a white fill, and I copied and pasted your code into the text field's Exit event. And it just doesn't work.
What's more, I tried copying and pasting your textbox and image into a file of mine, and yours didn't work in my file.

If you could just take a quick look at it and let me know what I am doing wrong that would be great. I'm sure it's something minor.
Oh, and for the record, I am using Adobe LiveCycle Designer Version 7, 0, 041126, 0 Cipher: 128-bit, in case that has something to do with it.
This is driving me up a wall. I thought this would take 2 minutes to do and I have literally spent hours trying to make it work.

How do I create a set of framed transparent windows?

Hello All,
I want to create a set of framed windows that are transparent, so that I can place any image below the frame in the stacking order, and the image will show through the windows.
If it worked, the image below would show the trees though the five windows instead of the five white rounded rectangles, but the grey gradiant and the text would remain.
I thought masking could do it, but
Masking crops the image to the window, but it also removes the grey gradiant frame, and
I can't get masking to work with more than on window, even if I group the five windows.

To get the round corners appearance to work, you can just select all the rectangles with the Rounded Corner effect and Object>Expand Appearance: that will change them to simple/regular rounded rectangles.

Not quite: it is stacked where the topmost constituent path was, so at least one of the rectangles with the Rounded Rectangle effects must have been above the live Type.

Setting image background transparent

I want to know how can I set the background of an existing images to transparent. I am a web desginer and currently i want's to change background color of one of my site http://twxdroid.com but here the problem arises that some of my used images background won't match up site background, so someone plz tell me how to change existing image background transparent. I heard about using magic wand selection tool or quick selection tool to make transparent but still can't figure out how to use them.

• if the Layer is a Background Layer change it to a regular one by double-clicking it
• make a Selection with whatever Selection Tool is appropriate
• if you selected the background use Select > Inverse to invert the Selection
• Layer > Layer Mask > From Transparency
• if further corrections are needed paint on the Layer Mask – black to hide, white to show the Layer’s content
• save the layered file as psd, psb or tif
• File > Save for Web … to save a copy a format that fits your needs (png-24 for example)

I figured it out. I added the following lines when building a script
set transfer mode of track "Track Name" of front document to blend
set transparency of track ""Track Name" of front document to 50

Setting FillColor to transparent

Hello all,
I am having a problem with a form I am laying out in LiveCycle Designer. I have a textfield that users click on and enter information. After the users are done updating the text field, if the text field contains a value I want it the fillcolor to be white. If the text field contains no value, I want it to be tranparent.
I already have the code to check to see if the text field is empty or if it has a value. My problem is in making the field transparent. In previous versions of Acrobat I used to use:
this.getField("FieldName").fillColor = color.white;
and
this.getField("FieldNme").fillColor = color.transparent;
this.getField no longer works with this new Acrobat. Instead, with LiveCycle Designer, for white, I am using:
this.fillColor = "255", "255", "255";
which works perfectly. I don't know how to set the transparency.
this.fillColor = color.transparent;
does absolutely nothing.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

How to set Window background transparent?

Generally, transaprent backgrounds are fake. What happens is that you set an image as yoru window background and listen for window's moves. When the window is moved, you read the new location and the desktop background and update your window background with the portion of desktop image you have below your window.

PS CS4: Automatically set background to transparent

Hi!
I have a small but annoying problem:
After a fresh Windows installation I installed Photoshop CS4 again. Since then, whenever I open an image of any format, when I cut out a segment, the background underneath appears white, whereas before the new installation, it had automatically been transparent, regardless of the file format.
Now, when I want a transparent background, I have to double-click on the "layers" window so that a new layer ("layer 0") is created. Then, when I cut out a segment, the background automatically is transparent.
Now, my question is, how do I set up Photoshop so that the background of any image opened in Photoshop automatically is transparent?
It used to be the case before the new installment.
I know, it's a small problem, but a very annoying one.

Sorry, I can't believe your statement:

... it had automatically been transparent, regardless of the file format.
A JPG image for example NEVER can have a transparent background.
How do you open your images?
Is it something like Copy > File New > Paste?
What file formats do you edit generally?

Non smooth text became antialiasing when set stageStyle to TRANSPARENT

The smooth attribute of a Text was set to false, it works fine when stageStyle is decorated or undecorated. However, when stageStyle was set to TRANSPARENT, the Text was changed to antialiasing automatically. Anybody knows how to fix this problem?

I attempted to adjust the white level, the field order, but don't think ever got to messing around with FCP's processing settings...I am actually encoding the film right now as I was under the gun and actually found the "scroll" plugin in FCP to work just as good if not better than Motion without any tweaking so had to roll wth that. I will attempt to tweak the Motion file again though as I cannot bear sub-par credits. Will also email you the Motion file if you don't mind.

Muse cc 2014 - browser fill can't set back to transparent

in muse cc 2014 i can set my browser fill to any solid color, but then when I try and set it back to "transparent/none" it doesn't work...
not sure why, is this a bug?..

It's not currently supported by Muse, but there is a case where it's useful. Using an <iframe> one web page can appear within another. In that context you sometimes want the child web page to have a transparent background so the content of the web page it's appearing within is visible.

Switches have a VTP Mode set to "server" can I set them to "Transparent" on a live network?

Currently our cisco 2960 switches at location "B" have a VTP Mode set to “server” I want to change this to “Transparent”
They have VLAN1-default (active) 10.1.10.81; VLAN2-patron(active) 192.168.10.2; VLAN3-vlan0003(suspended) no ipaddress; VLAN4-vlan0004(suspended) 192.168.20.2
I want to delete VLAN3 and VLAN4
The connection between loc "A" and "B" is set to “Static Access VLAN1” I need to change it to “Trunk Nonnegotiate Vlan all” for our vlan2 at loc "B" to work.
Reason for this change, when I added these switches to our network about 6 months ago it brought my network down, Knowing what I know now I think they wrote their settings to all the other switches that were vtp server switches on our network, VLAN3 and 4 were set to active at that time.

Switching from server to transparent vtp mode will not disrupt your network, the existing vlans will still be available, modifications however will need to be executed manually on the transparent mode switches.
If the interfaces between location A and B are configured as access ports, VTP will not work as it is only in effect on trunk links.
Before adding switches to an existing VTP domain, best practise is to configure transparent mode to set the revision number to 0. This way the VLAN database of existing switches will not be altered when connecting the switch.

Setting BackgroundColor of a TextInput

Hello,
I've already tried a lot, but there was no way I could change
the color of my textInput. What am I doing wrong? Adobe Livedocs
couldn't help me and there was no working piece of code I could
find in other messageboards.
These things haven't work for me:

myTextInput.setstyle("backgroundColor", Number(0xFFF00));
myTextInput.setstyle("backgroundColor", "#FFF00");
Do I have to do something about the border of the textInput.
Or about the "background"-Property (if it still exists for AS3)??

and you set some color to backgorund

is this possible to make this backgroundColor to alpha channel.
So text is set to alpha 100% and textfieldBackground is set to alpha 50%

I'm using AS2 with Flash CS4. How can I change the alpha of a ComboBox?
I tried:
MyCombo._alpha = 25;
// and
MyCombo.alpha = 25;
but both have no effect on my ComboBox, it just appears to have the alpha set to 100.

Nevermind, I solved it by not using _root. in front of the combobox name.
Does anyone know how to set the alpha of the background only of a combobox? Currently the entire combobox is being faded so the text and border is hard to see.

You can set the window transparency with something like:
theWindow's setBackgroundColor:(current application's NSColor's clearColor)
theWindow's setOpaque:false
I haven't seen a way using public APIs to blur behind the window, but I'm not sure about using ASObjC with stuff like Core Image, anyway.
You might also try something like setting the background to a gray color and play with the grayscale and alpha values (colorWithCalibratedWhite:0.0 alpha:0.2, for example).
