Setting Call Forwarding from Off-site

I have managers who want to be able to dial into their main phone line from home and set call forwarding remotely. Is this possible?

The only method I am aware of is to allow them to change their call forwarding via ccmuser.
They would need to have access to your network from home and log in to thier ccmuser page.

  • How to configure Mail to send from off-site

I am trying to configure Mail on a laptop that will send and receive email both went it is connected to the servers ISP (on site) and when the laptop is connected to a non-site ISP. In other words when I am in the office I am connected to the ISP that is hosting my mail server. When I am out of the office and using an ISP that is not hosting the mail server. I have configured Mail such that I can send and receive email when I am onsite. When I am offsite I can receive email but not send it. In order to fix the problem I have tried configuring the SMTP to require password authentication using a couple of different server ports (i.e. 25, 110 & 587) but have been unable to send from off site. At this point I am at a loss as what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If the off-site ISP doesn’t let you send no matter what port you use, there is little, if anything, you can do about it. Many ISPs, however, only block port 25 for all traffic outside their own network. Something that usually works in those cases is changing the outgoing server port to 587 instead of 25 in Preferences > Accounts > Account Information > Outgoing Mail Server > Server Settings, but the outgoing server in question must listen to that port for this change to work.
If the off-site ISP allows sending on port 587, but the outgoing server you want to use doesn’t listen to that port, you may solve the problem by using an independent authenticated SMTP server that allows sending from any mail account no matter where you are.
A Gmail account, for example, would allow you to do this. Instructions for setting up a Gmail account are provided here:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13275
After setting up the Gmail account in Mail and checking that it works, you can use Gmail's SMTP server to send from your other mail accounts as well:
    1. Log into your Gmail account on the web.
    2. Go to Settings > Accounts.
    3. Enable the addresses you want to be able to send from, and let Gmail validate them by verifying that you do indeed own them.
    4. For each mail account you want to send from using Gmail’s SMTP server, in Mail go to Preferences > Accounts, and choose Gmail’s SMTP server from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) popup menu.

  • Connecting to Time Capsule from off Site (Windows 7)

    Hi All!
First off, thanks for reading my post, it means a lot to me to get such great help from the community.
I have a Time Capsule (2TB) setup in my home with my most of my Windows 7 user profile redirected to it.  It was just purchased over the weekend from the Apple store after my 7 year old Apple router finally died, so it should be the latest and greatest.  I have setup DynamicDNS and can connect to my time capsule using the dynamic host name from inside my house (capsule.notmyrealdns.net).  So, to reiterate in case I'm not being totally clear, if I map a network drive in Windows from my home desktop to \\capsule.notmyrealdns.net\hammonjj, I can connect to that share without any problems.  For reference, hammonjj is the username I created in the Time Capsule management utility and TC created a share called hammonjj, which is what I am connecting to.
However, from off site I can not map this drive.  When I try to map it, I get a network error, which I have listed below (I am checking the box to connect using different credentials, btw).  I have tried to ping my DNS host name and it both responds and kicks back the correct IP for my home connection.  I have also double checked both my usename and password and have since gone under port mapping and added both Personal File Sharing and Windows File Sharing to the list of exceptions and checked the box for enabling access over WAN in the Airport Utility; I chose a random public port, but kept the default private ports.
    The error:
    Windows cannot access \\capsule.notmyrealdns.net\hammonjj
Check the spelling of the name.  Otherwise.......blah blah blah.
Thanks again for the help!  I'm sure this is just a silly oversight on my part, but I can't seem to figure it out on my own.  I bow before the Apple Community!
    James

It is not an oversight on your part.. you cannot connect via SMB over the internet.. practically every ISP .. certainly any responsible ISP blocks the port otherwise just about every windows system on the internet would be fully exposed as people share folders without passwords.
Use vpn .. that is the only secure way from windows.

  • Why do I have to set call forwarding 3 times every time?

I have an iPhone 5s running 7.1.1.  Every time I have to set my call forwarding I have to enter the number that I want to forward to (doesn't the phone store this?) and I have to set it 3 times.  I go to Settings-->Phone-->Call Forwarding then select the slider to on (my number I have forwarded to previously is not in the list.  I type in my number and select Back.  The number isn't saved and the slider is still off.  I click the slider and am directed to enter the number to forward to.  I type in number a choose Back.  The number isn't saved and the slider is still off (again).  I select the slider to turn Call Forwarding on (3rd time).  I input number and select back and FINALLY the call forwarding is set.  Come on Apple.  I would expect this from droid junk, not you.  Anyone else having this problem?

Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Call Forwarding Icon Stays On After Call Forwarding Turned Off

I have the problem described here: http://forums.precentral.net/palm-pre-pre-plus/271878-help-me-diagnose-glitch-call-forwarding-webos-... .
I see the problem on my unlocked GSM Pre2 with AT&T, and it goes away when I put my sim card in my old Treo 680. The calls stopped actually forwarding when I turned off call forwarding on the Pre2.  However, the call forwarding icon comes back on the Pre 2, and even shows when I move the sim to my Treo.  It turned out that reading the call preferences from the Treo was enough to reset the icons for both phones, and the icon stayed off until the next time I forwarded calls. Maybe the Pre2 was failing to update something on the SIM to match the status on the network, but the Treo got it right?
Anyway, I don't want to be swapping my sim card around every time I forward calls, and I can't count on my Treo to last forever either.
    Any better ideas?
Post relates to: Pre 2 p102una (Unlocked NA)

Have you tried contacting 3 to see if your account is setup correctly or if you need a new SIM?
You can try testing with another SIM or restoring the iPhone.

  • Caller ID no longer shown on calls forwarded from ...

I setup my skype number to forward all calls to my mobile phone and I used to have the caller ID shown correctly for calls incoming to my skype number on my mobile.  However, it is suddenly not working in past one week.  Is there any setup I need to do to correct it?

I have had exactly the same carry on as you as well as my daughter being in Egypt and missing her calls! I asked about this last YEAR but never got a single solution for it. I also am inundated by cold callers at least 10 times a day + all of their calls just show 'call' which is all I see when my calls are forwarded from Skype. I am cancelling it now and think it should be taken off Skype completely, it is clearly a problem for the majority of users yet has never been addressed or even rectified due to the odd few who state they have no problems with it. It's ridiculous that a company making billions can't listen to the people making the money for them & fix a problem that would probably take 5mins to correct! Surely enough users complaining about the same problem should have been sorted by now? Shameful

  • Call forwarding from an international Skype number

Ok so here is my setup. I live in Ottawa, Canada and I have an Australian Skype number. What I want to know is, if I put a forwarding number on my australian Skype number to a landline Canadian number and someone from Canada tries to call my Australian Skype number, what rate are they charged when they connect to my forwarded Canadian number and what rate is my Canadian number charged?

To make sure you should contact AT&T but if you set up call forwarding to an international number, you will be the one charged for the international call since your account/phone is dialing the final number.
Again, find out for sure from AT&T who gets the charge.

  • Re-translate number for calls forwarded from Lync

On a user's desk phone, a call shows up as "315554443333" with 3 being the dial-out code.  This way, a user can easily return a missed/received call.  In Lync, the call shows up as "+5554443333".
This is fine for Lync users, but if a Lync user were to transfer a call to a desk phone user, the call appears as "+5554443333".  The desk phone user can no longer return this call, they would have to dial the digits manually.
How would I go about re-translating this number?  Thanks!
    It worked for me.

That is correct, PSTN to Call Manager with SIP trunk off to Lync.  I am thinking the manipulation needs to occur in Lync, not in Call Manager.  We are using several number translations already, here is an example:
OutsideCaller at 555-444-3333 calls InsideUser1 at 222-333-4444.  The user has a desk phone and is configured for Enterprise Voice in Lync, so both their DeskPhone1 extension (4444) and their LyncPhone extension (3444) ring.  315554443333 appears
as the Calling Number on DeskPhone1, but +5554443333 appears on LyncPhone.
    1.  If InsideUser1 forwards a call received on DeskPhone1 from OutsideCaller to InsideUser2 who answers it on their DeskPhone2, it appears on DeskPhone2 as 315554443333 (GOOD).
    2.  If InsideUser1 forwards a call received on DeskPhone1 from OutsideCaller to InsideUser2 who answers it on their LyncPhone2, it appears on LyncPhone2 as 4444 (BAD, should show original calling party 315554443333).
    3.  If InsideUser1 forwards a call received on LyncPhone1 from OutsideCaller to InsideUser2 who answers it on their DeskPhone2, it shows on DeskPhone2 as +555444333 (BAD, should display number as 315554443333).
    4.  If InsideUser1 forwards a call received on LyncPhone1 from OutsideCaller to InsideUser2 who answers it on their LyncPhone2, it shows on LyncPhone2 as +555444333 (GOOD).
I hope this helps to clarify.
    It worked for me.

  • Track call forwarding from two online numbers

I have two online numbers that are being forwarded to one phone number. How can I track separately the calls coming to my online numbers? Right now I can only see the calls altogether to both numbers.

Except for a very few countries where you can receive an SMS message at a landline number (someone mentioned Germany as an example, somewhere else in these forums), you are not able to have a landline number show up as your Caller ID when calling from Skype. You are generally limited to using certain Skype Online Numbers or a mobile number that passes the SMS verification process, and that's it for Caller ID with Skype.

  • Is it possible to create a super-set materialized view from master site?

In the replication documents, materialized view is a sub-set of master site. But my scenario is when I delete some records in the master site. I don't want these records(which's been replicated to the materialized view table before) be purged in the materialized view. Is it possible for oracle replication ?

If your goal is to replicate inserts and updates but to ignore deletes, you would probably be better off setting up Streams and simply not subscribing to deletes.

  • Calls forwarded from sip device

I am setting up a callmanager with an h323 gateway.
for incoming and outgoing calls , the customer wants the calls passed to the H323 gateway and then  passed to another gateway within the Lan, which has a SIP trunk to the outside world.
Is it just a simple case of having a  H323 dial peer on each gateway to pass calls to and from callmanager?

Yes, you need to have the ff dial-peers
    On h323 gateway
    1. inbound h323 dial-peer from cucm to h323 gateway
    2. outbound h323 dial-peer to cucm from h323 gateway
    3. Outbound sip-dial-peer from h323 gateway to the sip gateway
    4. inbound sip dial-peer from sip gateway to h323 gateway
    On SIP gateway
    5. inbound sip dial-peer for calls from h323 gateway to sip gateway
    6. outbound sip dial-peer to h323 gateway
    7. outbound dial-peer for PSTN calls to ITSP
    8. You may also have inbound dial-peer from ITSP for inbound PSTN calls

  • Upload PDF directly to printer via Citrix from off-site computers

Is it possible to upload PDF documents directly to the newer HP printers, especially the business printers and copiers (MFDs)?  We have HIPAA-containing data that home-based users must print at work, and therefore cannot be sent via the cloud.
Our current printer vendor supports uploading PDFs directly, which our users are using.  The workflow involves printing via PDFCreator, then opening the web interface print tab of the device they are printing to and uploading, via a browse button, the PDF document.  The connection is handled through our Citrix remote access servers, everything is encrypted, and all data stays out of the cloud.
Because HP's ePrint is in the cloud, we cannot submit HIPAA-containing data via that route.
If no current HP products have that capability, can it be added?  I would think a firmware update to have an upload option would be very doable.  It appears that the ability to print PDFs is already present via ePrint--this would only be another way to submit a print job.
Our current printer vendor's device functionality includes being able to upload and print other print-ready formats, including .PCL and .PS files, but we aren't using that capability currently.  It would be nice to be able to upload .DOC/.DOCX formats directly.

    Hey SPS64,
Thank you for participating in the HP Consumer Support Forums!  The steps you desire are not going to be found on Consumer grade printers, but may be able to be found on some of the Enterprise level printers from HP.  I would advise posting this question on the Enterprise printing boards where there are many experts who would be willing to assist with your question.

  • Automator error when sync from off site data

    Hi
I am running the http://www.completedigitalphotography.com/index.php?p=373 sync folder task in automator.
The issue is a get a time out error "AppleScript Error-Finder got an error:AppleEvent timed out (-1712)"
I think the error is due to network latency. Is there anyway or automator task that change the latency timeout thresh hold.?
    Thanks in advance.

Lora, that is always the best policy, whether you are downloading via FTP or
acquiring photos from a flash memory card. Using drag-and-drop, the
difference between copy and move is all too slight, and if an error occurs
during a move ... well, you already know the answer.
