Setting Crystalviewer for all users in CMC

I am trying to setup Crystal Reports server 2008 VI for my organization. One of the requirement is to disable the Preferences in inoview and set the crystal report viewer to the Web ActiveX control for all users. I was able to disable the preference parameter in CMC -> Allications -> InfoView, but could not find away to set the default viewer for all InfoView users to the activeX control? Is this doable? If so I would like to know how.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Enable preferences and go to Infoview, click oh Preferences and change the view format to ActiveX and save it. Do this for Administrator users.
There is download available, using that you can make the same change for all users, check the below link.
Re: Setting the same "InfoView Start Page" to all users in one group
With that you can change the settings for all users as Administrator, once done remove the access to Preferences.
Thanks,
Hari

  • Set Preferences for all users

I need to be able to set QT preferences that are persistent to all users of a particular computer.
For example, I need to set the video to Safe Mode, but that setting only gets saved to the currently logged in user. Safe Mode would not be enabled for a user logging in with a different account.
This is on a Windows XP SP3 machine with the latest version of QT.

C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\QuickTime cpl is the file for the QT control panel.
With XP pro open the Folder Options control panel and click on the View tab. Uncheck> Use simple file sharing [Recommended] this will give the computer a Security tab. While in Folder Options you probably should put a check\dot in> Show hidden files and folders, and uncheck> Hide extensions for known file types and maybe uncheck> Hide protected opersting system file Recommended, to be sure QuickTime cpl shows up.
Right click on QuickTime cpl and click on the Security tab. This should give you the ability to work with permissions for user accounts

  • How to set preferences for all users?

I'm working with a windows CITRIX server and I need to disable the 'Remember passwords for sites' preference for all the users on the server. How do you do this for any user launching firefox on the server?

You can lock the signon.rememberSignons pref to false via the mozilla.cfg file.
    lockPref("signon.rememberSignons", false);
You canuse a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify new (default) values.
Place a local-settings.js file in the defaults\pref folder where also the channel-prefs.js file is located to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • How can I configure FireFox security setting globally for all users on a PC? Is there something I can do in group policies or throught the registry to insure all users have the same settings?

Our Bank's core processor has rewritten their product to run in a web browser. Their browser of choice is Firefox 3.6. The specifications from our core processor specify specific security and settings parameters that must be adhered to by all users for their product to run properly. Is there a way to globally configure these settings via the registry or group policies to insure everyone who logs in to a given workstation opens Firefox with the same settings? Thank you for any assistance you can provide - Steve Gish, First Bank Kansas.

  • Setting up proxies for all users and clearing it on logoff

    Hi,
This is an emergency, So any help would be welcomed.
Scenario - I have a lab which is configured with windows 8.1 enterprise 64bit. I created two local account. I want to connect it to our proxy such that its set up for all users and local users would not be able to change it. this way they have to log in
to use the browsers (IE/Firefox/Chrome). Secondly if they logout and log back in, it should require them to re-login to use the browsers. (It looks like its cached by default.
Any idea how to do these, Any suggestions are welcome.
I would Preferably like to script this so that I can run it on all machines.
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi,
Could you please have a share with the network environment?
If we are in a domain environment, we could configure the proxy using group policy, but the configuration won't change unless the policy changes.
For the scripting, if you would like to use, we'd better ask in the scripting guys forum for a better help.

  • Changing file clicking default behaviour for all users

Is there a way to change the default file clicking behaviour for all users? Each user can do it himself by going via the username menu ("Personal Preferences", "When clicking on a file...") but I would prefer to set it for all users to a value that is different from the default.

  • How do you configure Firefox for all users on a machine?

    I want to
    1. Take my existing set-up of Firefox
    a. with all bookmarks
    b. with all my chosen options
    c. with my default start-up home page
    d. bypass all the initial Firefox startup screen and "make this your default screen"
    2. Have it be the base set-up for all users that log into a machine on our domain.
Is there a config file? Where do I place this config file so when all open their firefox it takes the above settings. I am creating a base image using VMware and will want this set-up so when a user log in with their logon credentials and open Firefox, it already has the above mentioned settings in place.

  • Importing Certificates for all users on a machine

How do I import certificates for all users on a machine in Windows/OSX.
Since firefox does not use the system store and uses its own, we have been able to use a utility called certutil to add certificate to a user's firefox db on Linux. So if the user logs into any Linux system on our network he will have those certs in his trusted root cert authority for firefox. Unfortunately this does not carry over to firefox on osx as I am not sure why since it should carry over if the user's home is network. Then we have Windows users who basically have local accounts and we are looking for some solution to have it set up for all users without having to manually import for each user. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  • Block all websites apart from the homepage for all users. Citrix environment with Server 2003.

Citrix Xenapp 5 and Windows server 2003 environment. We want to force Firefox to kiosk mode with a pre-set homepage for all users. I also want to lock this to only one website. I have managed to set up the kiosk mode with R-Kiosk addon and Mozilla.cfg file. I am trying to use BlockSites to block all internet sites and only allow the one site with the whitelist option. I can get the addon to install for all users, but can’t get the default settings across. I have tried to add this with the Mozilla.cfg file, but it looks like this addon is getting it’s settings from the profile folder. If I set the preferences for the addon in Mozilla, cfg file, it actually picks it up but it doesn’t apply it to the addon for some reason. Does anyone have any other ideas on how I can lock this down to the one site?

I am not entirely sure how to do this, but the enterprise community would be a good place to ask. They have a email group you can ask on this page: [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/faq/]

  • Setting Default Preferences for All Users in Crystal Reports Server 2008 v1

We are currently looking to set the default preferences in the CMC for all of our users.
I did locate this page Link: [How to set default preferences for all users in Infoview 3.1/CRS 2008]
The first part of the thread did seem promising but I am unable to find the sample .jsp code that people recommended.
I would assume that this scenario is common enough that someone knows a way to set universal preference defaults.
    Thank you

I thought I could just run it too but when I attempt to I get a Windows Script Host error:
    Script: C:\User Prefs.vbs
    Line: 1
    Char: 1
    Error: Expected statement
    Code: 800A0400
    Source: Microsoft VBScript compilation error.
I noticed the first most line seems to be markup for a web interface though I am not familiar with vbs so I may be wrong.  I used the publishing wizard to put the script on the CMC to attempt to run it through the CMC but it still does not work.

How do I set Firefox to be usable for all users on one computer?

I would think the about:config entries discussed are ex-factory set to values each user has to change individually, after the installation has run its course. The solution could be to have patched files ready to install post factum:

  • How to set the same General settings for all users

    Hi Experts,
How can i set the same general settings for all users e.g. marking the checkbox "Display header" to true for all users? General settings are possible under User Settings Button.
    Regards,
    Arti.

    Hi Arti!
You can default user settings in a PFCG role, in the "personalization" tab.
If you have a PFCG role that is common to all your users, you can set the default values here.
However it does not prevent them to change these settings later, except if you modify the "user settings" fields properties in cProjects application.

  • How to set a common page for all users after loging on?

    hi all,
Now "My Dashboard" is the default page after logon.
i want to set a default home page for all users. users can see the home page after loging on.
how to change the default dashboard from "My Dashboard" to "Home page" for all users?
    thanks,
    dan

    Hi,
    Steps:
Tried to set default dashboard for all the users.
    1. Created a session init block
    2. Used data source as select '/shared/SH Test/_portal/Test1' from dual
    3. Assigned this value to PORTALPATH session variable
    4. In Presentation services > Administration > My account > Default dashboard should be set to 'default'. Then only the dashboard specified in init block will be displayed otherwise My account will override the init block.
    5. Save the changes made to rpd.
    5. Logout and relogin to see if it is working fine. it is working perfectly fine.
For details please refer the GSC replication document. But it is for all the users.
if customer would like to have user/group based home page.
    1. They may need to have 2 separate tables.
    i. Group_path_tab with 2 columns. Group_id, portal_path
Have group wise portal path for all the groups
    ii. User-group map table
    Group_id, Group_name, user_id
User should be part of some group.
    2. Then in the init block write the sql should be something like this
    select A.portal_path from Group_path_tab A, User_group_map B
    where B.user_id = :USER
    and B.Group_id = A.Group_id
SO based on USER session variable, it will try to identify the group and then the portal_path.
Finally assign this value to PORTALPATH session variable.

  • How can I set the default home page in Firefox 4 for all users that login to a PC on a Win 7 PC?

I work at a community college in upstate NY.
We use Firefox as the default browser at our institution and we have always set the default homepage to be our homepage for all users that login to the PC. We had a procedure to to that that worked with Windows XP and FF 3 or earlier
    We would do the following:
    1. go to: c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\FireFox\Profiles\<profile_name>\prefs.js
    2. Add the line: user_pref (“browser.startup.homepage”,”http://www.genesee.edu”);
    3. Copy the Folder
    C:\Documents & Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla
    To
    C:\Documents & Settings\Default User\Application Data\Mozilla
    4. Restart the computer
We're going to Win 7 and Firefox 4 and things seem to be different in terms of files and file structure. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance.

Making customisation from the default profile is generally considered poor practice and quite often doesn't work out as planned. (If you're interested in some more information on this, [http://mockbox.net/windows-7/227-customise-windows-7-default-profile.html see here] see here)
This article should help you with developing and deploying your customised Firefox 4 installation (without touching the Windows 7 default user profile):
