Setting default to either Imessage or ams message?

Ok now that we are on Ios 7 we are having a problem with our texting. Is there a way to set the texting to default to sms. It used to be that way before now it is auto Imessage and if not availible it reverts to sms. We would like it to be first sms and then imessage if we do not have a carrier signal. We never had this problem until ios 7. I realize you can turn off the wifi and then it goes to text but that is just an extra step to remember. So does anyone know how to default set the text to sms and then choose imessage if we want it secondly?

This hasn't changed from iOS 6.
iMessage isn't dependant on WiFi. You can send iMessages via cellular data.
The only difference is iMessages are only sent amongst Apple devices outside of your carrier's texting plan but still uses your cellular data. If it is not an Apple device then it will go as a SMS.
By default it will send as an iMessage unless it can't then it will go SMS if enabled in Settings > Messages.
This may be your problem. Check that setting.
Also, you can disable iMessage altogether but then everything will go via SMS.
Settings > iMessage > toggle iMessage off

I right click on an artist and set the default grid to a particular artwork but as soon as I take my mouse away from the artist, the artwork reverts back to the original. So, basically the default is never set.

Nope. It is the first image from the first track of the first album that has artwork. As you move your pointer over the icon you will get any other images assoicated with that composer.

I think your logic is reversed. I think it's better to let users create messages from the application areas from which they are having the problem. Based on the standard SAP component which defaults into the component field, the ticket can be routed to one of your 20 teams. This is where the agent detemination rule for support team can be configured. There are a number of message on the forum regarding support team configuration. This way, if your 20 teams can't solve the problem (for example SAP defect) then the message can be forwarded directly to SAP using the correct component. Good luck.

How can I set my default email address when sending new messages

I have 2 accounts in my Mail Preferences, hotmail and gmail. I have tried to set it so when I send a message to a new recipient it is my gmail one that is used as default. However, it is thehotmail account that is always ticked first.
I would like to set my mail preferences so the gmail is my default first choice in sending new messages and is ticked as my default email address.

Setting default Finder preferences

Hi, I recently upgraded t 10.7.2 and I was wondering if there was a way to set default finder arrange and view preferences. I upgraded form SL and I was able to do this (all finder windows would open in icon view with the files arranged by kind). Is there a way to set these preferences in Lion? I have gone to the View Options and selected Arrange to "Kind" and Sory by to "Name" and then selected "Use as defaults" at the bottom, but these are not maintained in subsequent finder window (they revert back to no settings). Do I have to do this for every single finder page?

So, I ended up erasing and reinstalling and this did not fix the problem (even before I migrated). I downloaded a new file from the App store because I thought my first one was corrupt, but there is not difference. Maybe what I envision is not possible in Lion. Here is what I do to set up my defaults.
Step 1: Open my main directory.
Step 2: Set preferences in view options.
Step 3: Open Alpha. The folders appear to be organized appropriately.
Step 4: Open Users. The files are no longer organized appropriately.
Step 5: Check setting. The option to set default is grayed out and the settings are no longer what I set before.
So, I change these setting and open my user folder and make some test files. The test files do not follow the view options either.

I've set up and verified imessage and still can't use imessage!!

i've set up and verified imessage and still can't add new contacts and send a imessage to my friends!!! all i got was a blank messages list and blank contacts and a new message screen but no add button or contact information section. how did i add new contacts? do my friends have to be registered users to imessage? cos i know a few of my friends either have an iphone or ipod.

The Apple Messages app will only mesage/text top another deive with iOS 5 and they have to have activated Messages on their device.
There are other apps like Text+ that allow texting to other phones and other devices with that app.

Cannot send iMessages or text messages

I have an iPhone 5S which I've had for a year, and now my phone will not send iMessages or text messages. My phone had a little fit later on today, constantly vibrating everytime I clicked onto my messages. That stopped after I reset it, but now will not send anything, it also won't send anything via whatsapp, and when I click on my apps such as Facebook and instagram, it just shows a blank screen and then switches back to the home screen. Can anyone help?

If your apps and messages aren't loading correctly I would start by quitting all the running apps on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

How to switch 1 contact from iMessage to Text Message?

I have a friend who switched from an iPhone to a GalaxyS4, so they don't get my iMessages anymore, and it won’t convert them to text message. We have delete the contact and added him as it was new and still it wants to set messages as an iMessage. We have even put the number in as mobile and not iPhone. Can anyone help, this is for my job and I need to be able to communicate with him.

Has anyone found a solution to this other than to just blame those of us who unknowingly rid ourselves of our iphones without disabling imessage? I'm having the same problem. I recently switched from my old iphone 4 which wasn't working well to an HTC One. My wife purchased the 5S and has also been happy but she and everyone else we know that has an iphone and used to send me imessages now can't get messages through to me easily because the default method is imessage. I've eliminated all of my devices on icloud, erased them from my apple id on the apple support page, and recreated the contact on my wife's phone (though I accept the problem is not on her end at all.)
Aside from accusing me of being an idiot for erasing and turning in my phone to Verizon without disabling imessage, does anyone have a constructive solution to the problem? My old iphone isn't coming back.

it is really annoying when i am commuicating with my friends either mac to mac or mac to iphone, and the messages disappear. this also happens on my iphone, and im not sure why. these messages are not only for random things between my friends, but as well as work related texts.... can anyone help? thank u!!!!

check in settings > messages > send & recieve and look for start new conversation from and you should be able to change it from there

IMessage not sending messages on Macbook?

I just got my macbook air last night and i had it all set up.
i opened imessage and entered my apple ID and associated which email id like to receive messages on.
I have my original apple ID and another email, which I seleted my alternate email.
I was able to successfully send one message to a friend.
However, the account i was signed into on my computer was the not the accounted in which i transferred all my files from my PC.
With that, I deleted the account (which was marked admin) and made my other account admin (the one with my migrated files)
Now when I attempted to sign into my imessage, I am unable to send or receive messages.
I did the exact same as said above but I am unsure of where I had gone wrong.
I have already signed out and resigned back in multiple times and repeated the process but have gone unsuccessful.
Any help?

I still have an iPhone, but haven't turned it on for weeks. And there's no SIM in it, so no cell service, just WiFi. When I turn it on after a prolonged period of having it off (weeks), a bunch of messages popup that should have been forwarded to my new phone (same phone number and carrier as when I was an iPhone user) but appear to sit in iMessage queue indefinitely instead.
I'm guessing it has to do with the link that's made when an iPhone first realizes that it's talking to another iPhone and defaults, for all future texts, to iMessage. You know, the green to blue switch. How does that association get undone?
Has anyone else seen this, and if so, is there a fix?

Imessage never deletes messages and shows them to anyone who wants to see them

here's the problem that in my opinion can cost millions of $$ in court for Apple:
iMesage never deletes conversations. If you delete a converstion from the list, it is still cached on the device. Problem is present in iOS6 & iOS7.
Do the following:
1) spotlight settings should have messages selected for search results
2) open Messages.app and delete a conversation that had iMessages there
3) open spotlight and search for something that the dialog contained
*not everything will be found though, I guess it doesn't cache everything or delete the oldest / doesn't cache the newest nessages fast*
4) you will be surprised when your deleted conversation shows up
5) for an even more unpleasant surprise, turn off and log out from imessage. Your conversations will still be displayed in spotlight.
Best words to look up on your significant other's iDevice: dear, kiss, love etc.
6) To make things even more interesting, spotlight will neither display the sender of the message (i.e. if it is a message or reply from your contact), nor the date. Plus it picks phrases out of context in such a way, that they will look more than interesting.
P.S. iMessage ruined my relationship with a girlfriend. Should I mention how angry I am?
P.P.S. the only way to stop iMessage from hijacking deleted conversations and terrorising you is to do a clean restore of the device. Set it up as new. Cached messages are backed up - if you restore from backup, they will still be there.

You said you text a lot - if your inbox and sent message folder is FULL, it could also cause delays. Try deleting messages, then restart the phone. It should work until the folders are full; then delete and restart, or just delete your messages every day.

How to set default sync calender category in Entourage 2008

I am using Entourage 2008. Syncing it with ical then sync with iphone (as iphone cannot sync directly with Entourage). Everything works fine right now except that i cannot set default calender event category on Entourage.
now, whenever i make a calender event on ical or iphone even enotourage. it default category as "none", how do i make it default to be "work" category? Now i have to go in every time to chage it, which makes a lot of trouble.

Hi,
Try this procedures.
1. Dont open your SBO program.
2. Goto C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\Conf\ folder
3. Delete file b1-local-machine.xml
4. Log to SBO program.
5. Apply all necessary authentication then select SQL_2008 then log.
6. After logging exit to SBO program.
7. Re-log again if SQL_2008 is already in default.
