Setting defaults for link tool?

Hi,
I'm creating a mega-multimedia pdf with lots of little pdfs attached to it. The customer wants each link in the megaPDF to open a mini-pdf in its own window, and each one should be set to open in "fit to page" zoom mode. When I use the link tool, I select "go to a page view", then I open the little mini-pdf attachment and click on "set link". That's great. But then I have to edit that link to have the action settings I want it to have (open in new window and fit to page). I'm hoping there is a way that I can set a default so that each time I set a link, it has those action characteristics.
Help? Please? Tired of clicking (and with some many links, sometimes I forget to go in and edit the actions )

I have no idea why Adobe did not implement that, but I've noticed that the
links you create take your current page view setting as their default value.
So if you're on Fit Page view, the links you create will be Fit Page links,
etc.

Process open items: how to set defaults for the additional selections

Hi FI experts,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to set defaults for the additional selections in the processing of open items.
I am using transaction F-04 (or F-06 or F-07) to post with clearing.
When processing the open items I can use additional selection parameters. In my case I need to use the document type. I would like to save this selection as a default but this doesn't seem to be possible.
1. it is not possible to save a variant for the processing of open items
2. I can not create a variant transaction (with trx. SHD0) for F-0x since this is only possible for dialog transactions
Do you see another way to store defaults for the additional selections in open item processing?

Hi,
When you create a transaction variant from FB05, then also you will not able to default the value for additional selections variable. Hence SHD0 is not going to help.
As said above, either you can change the additional selection screen parameters, but here again you can't default the value. You can only reduce the number of entries on the screen.
Else you can create a custom transaction code by copying the standard. Even SAP recommends to create custom codes from standard tcode for clearing purposes depending on requirements.

If it is a custom transaction then you can default document number.

Every time Acrobat scans a document, I have to go to Initial View to set Navigation tab, Page layout, and Magnification. It does not remember the settings I last used.

Set defaults for contacts

HI,
Can anyone tell me how to set the defaults for the contacts. Right now when I save a number in the contacts it is automatically set as a "work" number. I want it to automatically be a mobile number. This will save a lot of cut and pasting. Thanks.

Hello, i have the 11.101 version and I imported all my contacts via PC suite and I CAN use the defaults option and the ringtone can be anything I want (apart for video ringtones-they don't work).

Setting Defaults for Essbase 6.1

How do you set defaults for the options/global/mouse-actions?Presently, we have to disable the mouse-actions every time we enter Excel. Essbase is overwriting the mouse-actions with Essbase functions every time we enter Excel (it does not save our changes when we exit Excel). We have also tried to work in Essbase with the preferred default settings but this has not helped either.

Setting defaults for reminders in iCal

Is it possible to set a default for reminder in iCal? I would like to set it at e-mail the day before. However, iCal seems to have a reminder default as an alert (which is simply a pop-up), not e-mail. For every event I creat in iCal, I am having to manually put in the e-mail 1 day before. It doesn't remember the number of days either, because when I choose e-mail, it automatically displays 15 days. I know there's got to be some way to fix this. Any help will be appreciated.

thats what we've been doing. Problem is its gets a bit tedious when you have to constantly go through this process (and it involves a few clicks to do so) each time you open a file or place an image. The usual default is for files to be listed by name so we are not sure how or why all of a sudden it now defaults to "last modified" each time one of these menus is opened. And the defaults are fine ie. files are listed by name when opening folders outside of indesign... its only through indesign that they have reveted to "last modified".....

Create first domain for your DDLB field and when you assign this filed in field grp structure select the checkbox for " Domain values". So that you can see the default values in PCUI screen when launching the page.
Ex field name - suffix            ( Create domain for this field and assign values like Mr.Mrs)
      Field type - Dropdownlist box
      check box - Domain Vals

Set defaults for voice/no effects/no metronome

Is there a way to set GB so it defaults to open new songs as Voice/no effects and no metronome? This is what I mostly use and it would be nice to not have to make these changes every time.

Set defaults for table wizard?

Is there a way to set defaults when adding a table in contributor?
I think some of the defaults are set to:
Border Size = 1
Width = 200 pixels
For example, we would like the defaults:
Border Size = ""
Width = ""

I think you can set the default time for a transition. Go to Edit/Preferences/General.
But whether or not your transition will center at the cut depends on the characteristics of your clips.
As I explain in my book, transitions need to borrow about half a second of material from beyond the out point of one clip and the in point of the other to create the transitional segment. If one clip has that extra footage and the other does not, the transition will favor the clip with the transitional material unless you force it otherwise.
And, during slideshows, transitions will often rest off-center by default.

How do I set a default for all controls?
For example, I want the label to always appear on the left. Instead of setting the control attribute for each LED separately, I'd rather set a default to be applied to all LEDs.
I'd prefer to do this programmatically.

one possibility is to use the function call SetAttributeForCtrls from the programmer's toolbox library.
Another, to generate the controls programmatically - if you are using your own functions to do so you can define the default as to your liking.

Tools>View Downloads... locate your download in the list (if you have not already deleted it. X button on the RHS of the list item).
At the bottom of the Downloads manager there is an options link where you can set the folder where your downloads will be copied to during the TCP download process.

Setting defaults for folder view

When I create new folders (shift + command + N), I want them always to be in list view without the Sidebar. How can I set preferences or defaults so that new folders always appear this way?

Me also.
I find it a terribly inconvenient and a waste of mousing/clicking to have to reset the view to:
List
No tool bar
And no side bar
EVERY time I make a new folder.
View Options does not allow control of this.
What I have found is if I make a new folder on my DESKTOP I get the sidebar, tool bar, icon view. If I make a new folder in a window that has no sidebar, no toolbar with list view, I get no sidebar no toolbar but I do get icon view.
Why is the behavior for a new window/folder appearance different depending where you create it?

Anyway to set default on Pen tool to stroke and no fill?

It keeps resetting to stroke and white fill every time I draw a new line. I'd like it to stay at what I had it before (stroke and no fill). If it wont' stay with the last used setting, can the default be changed to have no stroke?

Set the stroke, fill, color, etc. that you want as default before you select a tool. Thereafter this will be the default. Do this also with character and paragraph settings or most any tool for that matter. If these defaults are something that you use day in/day out same them as a personal workspace.
