Setting different mouse speed for different mice

I have an Apple Magic Mouse that I've used with my iMac for a while. I recently picked up a wireless Kensington laptop mouse for my 4 year-old twins to use because the Magic Mouse is difficult for my daughter to use. The Kensington mouse is good because it is smaller and has two obvious buttons for her to use.
The problem is that the Kensington mouse tracks way faster than the Magic Mouse. Is there a way (either through preferences or third party software) to set a custom speed for each mouse?

USB OverDrive can customize speeds and button behaviouir differently for different input devices. You should remove the Kensington mouse driver. However it does look as if it disables Apple's own Magic Mouse drivers without replacing some of the facilities, so you would need to research that before proceeding.
Also note that USB OverDrive is so far not compatible with the Magic Trackpad, and prevents the latter's Prefs Pane from loading (thus preventing you setting gestures) so if you were thinking of getting a Magic TrackPad, USB Overdrive isn't a good purchase.

Anyone know how, where to set a default mouse speed for all users. I have an iMac running Maverick. I set my personal mouse speed near the highest. The default speed is the same slow pace for the guest profile and I would like to change and KEEP it a little faster. Currently when I log out of guest account, all settings, files, etc are deleted. I am admin so ... anyone? Help? Something akin to the windows registry? I'm a newbie to Mac OS X, but learn quick.

Is there an updated way of setting QuickTime streaming speed for iChat?

I've been using iChat screen share to help a friend. The first time we tried it, it worked well; the second time, however (same computers), the image of the screen I recieved was suddenly very low resolution (too low for me to see what I'm doing). It sometimes clears up after around 30-40 seconds, but once a window is moved, etc, the problem reoccurs, making the process tedious to the point that I don't think I'd go through this. I saw in a previous community tip that changing the streaming speed in Quicktime can resolve this issue; they specified that this must be done through the Quicktime icon in System Preferences, and not through the standard Quicktime app.. that was for OS 10.5.6; on my OS (10.6.8, and the new QT), Quicktime is now missing from the System Preferences panal : /.. I also saw a user comment on another site saying, "Basically, [the new] QTX lacks the option to pick your codec, frame size, data rate, and so on." So was QuickTime's streaming speed function lost, and do I really need Quicktime to accomplish better image quality for iChat? If it can't be fixed, is there a better screen sharing utility I can get that won't have these problems? Thanks for any help : )..

Back before iChat 4 the Video part of iChat chats was based on the reading the app ttok from the Internet speed it could see.
This speed was directly effected by the then System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab setting.
Basically the Automatic Setting was read a 0 (zero) kbps.
The Fastest Setting of Intranet/LAN also got messed up (it would not return a figure iChat could use)
For that reason we used to Suggest that people use the 1.5Mbps T1/Intranet/LAN setting
This limited Video streaming by any app to 1500kbps both as Upload and Download (this is fact a rough figure based on using base 10 rather than the true binary based math involved)
At iChat 4 Apple made iChat see the Automatic setting as 384kbps
This should be fast enough for 4 way Video chats as the Host end. (the person that invites the others)
By Snow Leopard (iChat 5) the Quicktime Setting has gone in System Preferences.
The way iChat "reads" the Internet Speed is different and it is not restricted by Quicktime.
The only way to Cap iChat now is the App Menu > Preferences > Video Section > Bandwidth Limit
Apple state the minimum Internet speed that iChat should have for Screen Sharing is 128kbps
Internet Speeds tends to be based on Binary multiple at lower speeds - 56kbps is max Dial-up Modem speed
128kbps is obviously twice that. The next speed split is like to be 265kbps
Check that you and your Buddy have at least 128kbps as Upload as well as download.

Ideally it should be faster as at that speed you can lose between 10 and 20% in the test and the overheads of running the connection to the ISP
Setting the Bandwidth (in iChat) at 500kbps at both ends can eradicate the variances you can get in slower Internet speeds.
In Snow Leopard Quicktime has become Quicktime X and does have issues playing some Quicktime 7 movies.
This also applies to Lion and Mountian Lion
However there are ways to install the Quicktime 7 Player that will cover the codecs that may not be played.
This info does not apply to iChat though.

Setting uplink/downlink speed for QoS on WRT300N

I've setup QoS on this router to give my 2 voip box's high priority, http/email/video traffic medium priority, and bittorrent low priority. The problem is, there is no place to tell the router how fast my connection is.. uplink/downlink speed isn't an option. And right now the QoS isn't being effective, and low priority data is blocking high priority. How do i configure this router to manage bandwith?

Hi… Make sure you have setup correct port no under QOS. Especially check the ports used by bit torrent. Assign a Particular port to bittorrent if needed and set low priority to it. Also limit the no of peer connection per download and no of simultaneous downlaods. Also make sure that you have setup port triggers and not forwarding for your VOIP boxes

Setting duplex and speed for NIC

Can anyone tell me what the correct way is to set the duplex and speed on a NIC is in Solaris 10? I know that you can use the "ndd" command to manually set them but I'm looking to having this done automatically when the machine boots. So far, I can think of putting these commands inside /etc/system but I'm really looking for the correct way of doing things.

The correct way would be to set it in the config file for your interface's driver, usually found in /kernel/drv. For example, T5220s come with e1000g interfaces. You can use /kernel/drv/e1000g.conf to configure a whole lot more than just duplex and speed.

Set manual shutter speed for long exposure photographs

To my suprise, i can not manually set the shutterspeed of the camera (a big disapoinment from iphone which can do this and i had before) i want to photograph waterfalls and create dreamy scenes.
4.3 did not fix this, anyone know if 4.4 update will adress this?
Is the problem with Sony or Android, since there are NO apps on google play that support long exposure in full resolution.
Anyone?

Wayland (+Gnome 3.14) mouse speed/acceleration

Good evening dear archlinux community!
Just recently I updated to gnome 3.14 and started using it with wayland. So far it runs pretty smooth and stable, which is nice, but I got issues with mouse speed and/or acceleration.
I'm using a pretty old Razer Deathadder (the 1800dpi version) and razercfg (more precisely razerd) to set its dpi to 900.
Back in gnome 3.12 it worked just perfect if I set the mouse speed to the middle and disabled acceration. It felt like the "raw input"-like speed from windows.
But now razercfg doesn't seem to work with wayland, which is understandable, but f*cks up my muscle-memory.
(By the way: having razerd enabled while running gnome on wayland makes wayland crash at the moment razerd tries to switch dpi. So the mouse runs at 1800 dpi)
tl;dr
So my question is: is there any way to force a kind of "raw input" on my mouse speed on gnome+wayland? Like disabling or bypassing the gnome mouse settings or reducing mouse dpi in wayland?
Setting the mouse speed to the lowest doesn't do the trick. It still feels too fast or accelerated.

If it isn't possible I'm open for suggestions for a new mouse. Requisites are: perfect Linux support, manual dpi-switching, good ergonomy for quite large hands, 4+ Buttons, 80€ max. And please no Logitech mice...

Finally, I am running gnome 3.14 with waland on my btrfs-ssd-pimped laptop. Quite cute.
The major issue is the touchpad's speed. It is so nervous. Acceleration is ... massive. Sensitivity of clicks is nearly unusable. It seems as thinking"will click soon" already is a click. I tried to tweak the touchpad settings in gnome-settings, but tumbled into the dialog and accidentally turned the touchpad off.
I found out there is no option for acceleration and sensitivity.
I read about wayland/gnome-settings-daemon:
Launches mousetweaks and gsd-locate-pointer as required and applies settings to input devices (mouse and touchpad). Under Wayland, the mouse accessibility features and the locate pointer need to be implemented in the compositor, and the settings naturally belong there as well.
And about wayland/libinput touchpad speed settings
The code we currently have in libinput is pretty much 1:1 what's used in the X server. The X server sports a lot more configuration options, but what we have in libinput 0.4.0 is essentially what the default acceleration settings are in X. Armed with the knowledge that any #define is a potential knob for configuration I went to investigate. There are two defines that are labelled as adjustible parameters:
DEFAULT_THRESHOLD, set to 0.4
DEFAULT_ACCELERATION, set to 2.0
But what do they mean, exactly? And what exactly does a value of 0.4 represent?
Right now, I guess one needs to change the paramters in the code of libinput.

Changing minimum mouse speed

Hi all. I've used "xset m 4 0" to set the mouse speed to something usable, but it's still too slow when I move the trackpoint slowly (before acceleration kicks in, that is). Is there any way of increasing the slowest speed of the mouse? It seems strange that the xset m command only gives you control over the acceleration and threshold... Where's the good old 'sensitivity' option?
Oh, and adding Option "MinSpeed" "9" to xorg.conf seems to have no effect...

I need to do this in java so using a JNI dispatch into a dll is not going to be okay. So that option is not open to me. Just in case you are thinking of entering that solution. The solution also has to be interactive so that would seem to leave out the Robot solution.
Honestly, with these two conditions I think that I have closed the door, or had it closed on me, to any solution to this problem. I am just posting this question before pursuing another mechanism.

I have few set of load test scenarios, I would like to add each of these test scenarios to "AutoPilot" and run each different scenario profile at different number of iterations.
As in Oracle Load Testing the "Set Up AutoPilot" tab I see a section like this "Iterations played by each user: ", which says run these many iterations for every virtual user of all profile added under "Submitted Profile Scenario". So is there any thing like that to set different iterations for every scenario profile added in Autopilot.

The Greasemonkey extension allows you to use JavaScript on a site-by-site basis, which provides further opportunity for customization. But these would take time and lots of testing to develop and perfect (and perfection might not be possible)...

How can i set different font for different tabs/pages

I want to set different fonts for different tabs/pages?
is it possible to do the same? If yes how?
I can change the fonts under tools>options>contents>advanced. but that changes global settings.
tried some add ons too- but that too changes the global settings.
some pages like tweetdeck do not display icons etc properly under custom fonts.
when i check "allow pages to select their own font" tweetdeck shows up fine but a number of other pages show fonts that are too big or some non standard fonts.
Is there a way where i can select site default fonts for some sites/tabs, and custom fonts for other sites/tabs?

Can we get 2 different types of SPC charts for an MIC in an inspection plan

1. Can any one help me out in getting 2 different types of SPC charts for a single MIC in an insp. plan. As each MIC can take only one Sampling Procedure and as SPC chart type is assigned to Sampling Procedure I am not able to get 2 different types of charts. Is it possible in SAP if so can you let me know how.
2. Can we plot SPC charts of 2 different MICs of same chart type on single graph via SAP? I tried QGC3 but was not successful.

YES,
You can get two different SPC characteristics.
May be a crude method, but definite solution.
1. You create one characteristic say '0010' with control indicators suitable for SPC characteristics. Assign sampling procedure to this characteristic with chart type say '175 Shewhart chart for np/USA'
2. Now create another sampling procedure with chart type say '520 Moving Average Chart'
3. Now select characteristic line '0010' in the plan.
4. Click copy characteristic & press enter. The characteristic gets copied with same control indicators.
5. For this new characteristic '0020' set 'Calculated characteristic'
6. In formula field enter formula as A00020*1. (where A0 is Measured value for single unit.
7. Now assign the new sampling procedure to this characteristic.
8. Done... Now when you record the results for characteristic '0010', after valuating press 'EVALUATE FORMULA' button... & the same results of '0010' are copied for characteristic '0020'
Thus you have two SPC charts for same results without re-entering it.

Different MICs for Inspection points

How can you do if you like to have different inspection characteristics for different (freely-defined) inspection points. E.g. if you take a sampl (sampl 1) by using freely-defined inspection ponits and test 5 differnt MICs, then 10 minutes later you pick another sample (sampl 2) out of your production and there you only need to inspect 3 MICs. How can you set this up?

Better create different operation in routing & then assign different MIC s to different to operation .I think that will be better option
( Aster 5 mins you are going to check only 2 MIC then that will be 1 opoeration ,Then after 10 mins you are checking 5 MICs then that will be 2 nd operation like wise you can check & take result of different sample at different stages.

You can use the same apple id for two separate phoones to share apps/music, however you would need a separate apple id for both phone for imessage/facetime/icloud.

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

Also, do a search in this forum on HttpURLConnection. That class allows you to use POST method to send form data to a web server.
"Hidden" variables are only hidden in HTML. The HTTP that gets POSTed to the web server doesn't distinguish between hidden and not hidden. That is, the content you would write to the HttpURLConnection.getOutputStream() would be something like:
hidden=1&submit=ok(Of course, the variable names would depend on what the web server was expecting from the form.)
Also, be sure to set the Content-Type request parameter to "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"
