Setting different vibrations for contacts is not working in iOS 7. Thoughts?

Setting a different vibration alert for a variety of contacts "appears" to be working; the settings are accepted and visible, however, when an incoming text arrives, they all vibe the same - not differentiated. <shrug>. Using iphone 4S / iOS7

Works fine for me on my iPad and iPhone.

IPhone 4: Setting different ringtones for contacts not working.

I can't add personal ringtones for each contact. I have followed all contact editing info to the letter, yet I still only get the same one ringtone for each contact (the default ringtone I set for the phone). Setting different ringtones for text messages works fine, but not for telephone contacts. Is this feature broken? Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks.

It happened to me also when I first added specific ringtones to contacts, but just turning the phone off/on fixed it for me. You can try a reset also if that doesn't work (hold down the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the Apple logo comes up)

hi!, i got my iphone friday night and ive tried setting different ringtones for different people..but it doesnt work...my normal ringtone is disturbed..when my friends call..i want it to be different for each one of them..i changed it in the contacts...everytime they used to call it would say there name..ever since i put the ringtone in..the phone doesnt recognize the contact?

Try a reset and/or restore.
It should work, mine work properly.

Hi All,
CreateStrokeWeightCommand of IGraphicAttributeUtils works only when if the frame has some stroke weight already applied to it.
So do i need to set something else before using CreateStrokeWeightCommand to make it work programatically on a frame with no stroke weight.

Create target group for contacts does not work

Hi Experts,
I am working on a Markting solution for a University with CRM 5.0.
We need to contact certain Teachers in Schools (they have an orientation function for pupils that might study in the University in the future).
I can segment for schools in Segmentbuilder. Now, I need to generate "new target group from contact". In my case the contact person of the school is the Teacher (function type is contact person). This does not work.
Am I missing some parametrization, or is there a relation to sales area (wich we do not have).
Hoping for your help. I will regard points generously.

Hi Cristina,
I understand Schools are crated as Org and Teacher as Persons. There exist a Relationship between these similar to Contact Person (BUR001).
Now, Follow the process
1) Create a Data Source in CRMD_MKTDS.
2) Assign an Infoset Query, as per your scenario.
3) Assign Function Module "CRM_MKTTG_PF_BP_TAB_TO_CP" to data source
4) Save, and then create an Attribute List.
Go to Segment Builder and create target group based on above Attribute List.
You'll get a list of all the contact persons. For your case, Teachers.

PS: This will only work if Schools - Org, Teacher = Person and Relationship = BUR001. If you have other criterias please copy Function Module "CRM_MKTTG_PF_BP_TAB_TO_CP" and edit it as per your business case. Then assign this FM in Data Source.

Autocorrection for every keyboard not working in iOS 6

Apple promised at WWDC "Autocorrection for every keyboard". I am using a Bluetooth keyboard on an iPad 2 with iOS 6 and it's not working. The same is true on iPhone 5. I have it enabled in settings and it works with the virtual keyboard.

I have an iPhone 4 with current iOS.
I've noticed this over the past few months. I always notice it on the FB app. My short cuts stop working. I will check email or note. I figured restarting the phone would fix it.
Here's the thing. Obviously I use FB a lot, but this short cut issues never happens in text messages, Whatsapp, or email. Always with FB.
In fact I noticed that I get sluggish typing performance typing using the FB app whether I use the keyboard short cuts or not.
Just wondering if this common among iPhone 4 users.

Assigning different ringtones to contacts does not work in IOS6.

I believe this is a SW bug in the iPhone5 or IOS6.
I created a ringtone for my daughter and went through all of the correct steps to get it into iTunes and then onto the phone.
From contacts, I select her contact, edit, then I select the ringtone. It seems to take and shows the new name for the ringtone.
When she calls, however, it plays whatever the main rintone is set at (whether it is customer or standard).
My brother tried it on his i5 and the same thing happened.
Anyone see this?

Well not sure about anyone else but finally spoke with "support" today.
First call I made I was told if I paid $79.00 I would receive assistance for a year.
They could fix my problem through my pc.
Well not paying.
Phone 1-800-APPLE and was told that because didn't pay for call display through
my provider it isn't going to work for me.
Seems they don't advise you of that when you are making a decision on buying a phone.
They at least could have put a *note saying function only works under specific conditions.
I would have checked that out first thing.
Lesson learned I guess. Now my provider supplies that option free for new plans but won't
apply it to mine. So much for customer service. This all within a couple of months.
Now if anyone has any information that would change what I was told please let me know.

I'm trying to resize a pic for some contacts.....but it's not allowing me to do so.......any tips and is anybody having this problem ?

Ipad.......in the contacts app...the one we all have on iPad..........I'm adding and changing some contacts photos........I go to the contact.......tap edit........tap the photo to edit it......it opens........and when I try to pinch to resize and move to a different part of the pic......it does not allow me to resize.......no error...........don't know why........thanks again for your time dude..........ciao.........

FYI: Setting OLE DB for OLAP does not work in BW Add-On Frontend Patch 402

The setting for property 'Allow External Access for this Query' (OLE DB for OLAP) for a BEx query is not being saved when patch 402 for GUI 720 is used. There is no warning or error message. It works in patch 401 and hopefully as well in the upcoming 500.
This impacts all external use of BEx queries, including access from Business Objects. By the way, a universe connection to the query will still function after the property setting is gone, but a new connection cannot be created as the query is not visible anymore.

Setting/General/Add new shortcut is not working on iOS 7.1.1

I can't using shortcut anymore when I updated to iOS 7 (and the same with 7.1 and 7.1.1)
So, now, I can't add new too.
How can I solve this problem?

Furthermore I have also configured the wifi connection on the iPhone manually via Static rather than DHCP (under which my ip addresses are shown wrong) and it connects and I see the green tick mark next to the wifi connection and also see the wifi icon at the top of the screen. However I am still not able to go on the internet as it says check your network connection. All the other devices in my house are working perfectly fine.

The cause: It is now clear what caused this problem. For years I had several “all-day” events in my Outlook calendar (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). In May 2012 I decided to make some of them one hour events so I could add alerts to remind me of the event. I did this by dragging them in Outlook to the time I wanted and expanding them to the time slot desired and then adding the alarm.
The symptom: Syncing stopped working for the calendar but continued working for contacts and notes. I didn’t realize sync was failing until months later when I missed two very important phone calls, so when I noticed it the cause was not obvious.
The failed attempts: I’m head of a software firm and my calendar sync is a crucial to my business life so I took this on with a vengeance. From a quick look at events in Outlook and the iPhone I could see that the problem started in May 2012. Events before May were in both Outlook and the iPhone but events after May were only one or the other. Unfortunately I had changed several other things at the same time relating to other events so again the cause was not obvious. MANY calls with AppleCare proved them incompetent so my internal IT guys assisted trying many things. We tried a huge number of calendar changes and several versions of iTunes, iPhone OS and Office as well as both iPhone 4 and 5, all without success.
The fix: After 18 months of frustration, MANY hundreds of $ expense and MANY hours of wasted time I saw a blog that had a calendar sync problem and it indicated all day events were related. I changed the display of the Outlook calendar to the list view, added columns so I could see “all day” event check marks as well as times of events, sorted on the “all day” event column to move them to the top, and for all events that were “all day” events AND had a start and end time, I removed recurrence and then added the annual recurrence back…
After I fixed all events that had BOTH “all day” set and had a start/end time, I tried another sync. It synced for the first time in 18 months!
Problem occurred May 2012 – fixed Nov 2013

Hi, to remove dummy '_ModGrp' entries, rather than crashing the 'Suppr' key on your keyboard, you can use this basic VBA macro (launched for instance from Excel).
It will recursively remove all '_ModGrp...' folders

Mail for Exchange does not work when set to manual...

I set up mail for exchange and it works beautifully when set to always on, however many times I want it on manual so I can only check at specific times when I'm away from a pc, but it doesn't seem to work.
When I click synchronise, it appears as if it syncs and disconnects, but it doesn't update anything. If I try the same when I'm looking at the mail for exchange settings, then it tries to connect and says error connecting, try again later.
So i switched to always on, it worked, back to manual, and it seems that the first attempt was successful, but I know it'll stop working later.
Any idea what the problem is with manual checking?
