Setting elements in master pages to display in the foreground

Hi, I am following “Building your first website with Muse, part 3”, in order to learn how the header content displays in the foreground, above the page content as the pages scroll.
I’ve been following all the steps (with the Katie’s Café website), but I got stuck on this part: “With the entire header content selected, right-click and choose Move To > Master Foreground (see Figure 39). Notice that unlike the usual blue border for selected objects, items set to display in the foreground have a red border when selected.”
Here is my problem: when I right-click on the selected content, I don’t get “Move to > Master Foreground”. Instead, I get “Arrange > Bring to Front, Bring Forward, Send to Back, or Send backwards” (as in Object). There’s no sign of “Move to”. What do I do wrong?...

Can I set up a master page to show custom alternating footer text dependant on page number?

Hi,
Is it possible to set up a master page to show different messages in the footer of a brochure dependant on page number? For example;
Page 1: Buy from us because...
Page 2: Our website address is...
Page 3: Here's a special offer...
Page 4: Our website address is...
Page 5: Buy from us because...
Page 6: Our website address is...
...and so on, repeating until the end of the brochure. The intention is for the footers to update automatically if the pagination of the brochure in question needs moving around - or if the messages need changing.

Thanks, but the text needs to be on a single master page which every page is assigned to. This is so the text alternates correctly regardless of whether new pages are inserted or moved. If I assigned separate master pages to individual pages and then moved the pages to a different location, the alternating footer text would then fall out of sync. I hope that made sense!

Master Page always displaying first

Good morning all,
I have a project I'm working on for the HTML view and I want only one page to be visible, the rest hidden. I have a list of the pages on the side tied to button clicks so as the user clicks the page they want to visit only one is shown. For the first page it works perfectly, but when I click the second button it displays the master page first and then the page I selected right below it. I'm assuming it's some layout property I have to fix with the master page.
Ps my project works just fine in PDF view.

Hi Max,
I actually fixed the issue by initially hiding all the screens, instead of hiding them via initialize action.

"Set as default master page" link is disabled

I have an enterprise wiki site collection , but when I try to change the default page layout for my site collection,by opening the site collection using SharePoint designer>>then going to page layout section. The problem is that the “Set as default
master page” link will always be disabled.. although I am login using the site collection administrator
Can anyone advice on this please?

Enterprise WIKI's are essentially Publishing sites. You set the default page layout for new pages in a publishing site using the Page Layout and Template Settings link on the Site Settings page. On the Page Layout and Template Settings page
you can choose the default page layout to use when creating new pages. The default page layout is not the same thing as the default masterpage.

Custom master page is showing inside the dashboard designer

I have some issues with Dashboard designer, when i am creating a new report ,my custom master page is showing inside the designer. How i can remove this?

But here's a few more things:
When I click on the page 1, the Master Page view is shown. When I click on Master Pages, the Master Page view is shown, also when I click on
untitled Content Area, the Master Page view is shown. All these made me think that extra page is the Master Page.
When I look at pagination for page1, here's what there:

END-OF-PAGE not displayed in the last page of the classical report.

Hi all..
The END-OF-PAGE is not displayed in the last page of the classical report.
SY-LINCT value is 30.
Lines displayed in the report per page is 24.
[3 for TOP-OF-PAGE and 3 for END-OF-PAGE]
My Internal table has 6942 records.
It comes 289 pages with 24 records in a page and 290 th page with 6 records.
The END-OF-PAGE is not coming for the 290 th page.
Please help.

My master pages have disappeared from the View menu in Frame Maker and I can't get to them. View does show body pages and reference pages.

Master pages went missing from my FrameMaker 12 setup about 4 days ago. I can see body and references pages. I have tried reinstalling. The master pages are missing from all of my FrameMaker documents, absolutely all of them. I have done two new installations of FM 12, no fix.

Does the old shortcut still work? [Esc, v, M plus its close kin Esc, v, R for Reference pages and Esc, v, B for Body pages – all case-sensitive]
Also, does "missing" mean you select View master pages and get a blank screen? while double-checking the view shortcuts, I discovered this can be replicated by turning off borders [Esc, v, b] in Master page view … if you happen to be using a Master page layout with no header or footer. But I have also, occasionally, ended up with blank master pages even when they should have had content. It's a mystery.

Master page is shown in the document

Hello There.
I have a document with one empty page (first page). I am not able to delete this page.
I allready fade in the command structure (Hierarchie). By clicking on this empty page the master page is activated.
Is it possible to hide the master page (out of the structure) or is there any other possibility?

Silvia - I selected the form (that was on the second page) and click on Palettes - object - select subform tab. changed content dropdown menu from Flowed to Positioned and click on check box (allow page breaks within content).
that actually get rid of blank master page showing up as actual form.

This usually happens to me when the CSS file is not published or approved yet. Where is your new CSS located? Have a look
with SharePoint Designer or browse to it and publish/approve it.

Blank page was displayed on the browser

We are running weblogic 6.1 SP2. On our application (2 frame, one menu frame and one content frame), sometimes we hit there issues;
          1) click submit to post the content page (to next page or to own page), the page turned blank. After that, the content page seems like 'hang' because whenever I click on the menu frame, the server returned data but no result being displayed on the content page.
          2) server returned error but the error message was not displayed on the page.
          Anybody ever encounter these issues? The browser used is IE6. But these happened on IE5 as well.

That is part of the code on the page that you mentioned having that problem.<br />
It is the longest line on that page, so you can hardly miss it.<br />
That line is coded in such a way with &nbsp; entities that browsers won't wrap it (of course IE ignores it and displays it like you want it).<br />
You can try to change the second &nbsp; after the pipe (|) separator to a normal space.<br />
The NOBR only seems to be used for the links, so that is probably OK as you do not want to split a link over more than one line.

When setting up my igoogle page, I cannot get the themes to display and when I select one, it won't show up on the igoogle page so can you assist me?

I have used IE and Chome and both I get my igoogle page with the theme I have selected. I use to get Firefox with my theme on it. Then it changed and I could not. I contacted you, I went per instructions and deleted cookies, cache etc. and followed directions. Something I did worked. Now it is gone again. I followed some other question answers and put setup for Firefox 4.0.1 and then deleted Mozilla and then re-installed. That did not work. Now I am reading about Avast Webrep and all these other brainy people's answers which worked for them but I don't even know where to find these and I have not Firefox button or ability to go to extensions. I am so tired of this that I went back, downloaded IE 9 and Google Chrome. I got the theme on both again, even though I had completely uninstalled them as I was going to be a Mozilla person. Well now I just don't know and it has happened twice and I don't know how I fixed it to begin with.

Can get page to display via the internet

I used the built in FTP in RoboHelp HTML to publish my pages
to the server. I can not view them on the server. For some reason
the page won't display. Here is the URL.

I have verified that everything is on the server.

What I discovered was that I was missing to JavaScript files
from when the site was published to the server. The only way I
discovered this was by looking in the log file of the server. Here

What happened to my old web page, using att ,I do not want to re set my old home page. This is the third time and I don't want to spend hours on phone.

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

How do I fix in Windows 7 x64, when I click on a link in a web page Firefox displays in the lower left - javascriptvoid(0).

When I go to sites were I click on a link that will open a java script window, Firefox doesn't open the window. If I go to the same site with IE 8 and click on the same link it will open the java window. I have uninstalled java 6.3.2 and reinstalled 6.3.2 to see it that was the problem. I have also uninstalled Firefox 3.6.3 and reinstalled Firefox 3.6.3 to see if the installation had become corrupt. That has helped in the past, this time it has not.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")
