Setting for colored bar under clips used repetedly

Is there a setting that places a colored bar underneath clips that are used repetedly, but not in the same order? I know this setting exists in FCPro, but cannot seem to find it in FCE.

If you mean Labels then no, this is not an

I had a very similar problem a while back, but I never found a solution. I think it was somehow linked to using an external USB drive (which is definitely a bad idea!).
Are you using an external drive to store your media? If so, what type and how is it formatted?

Will not retain setting for location Bar setting to Nothing

Using Firefox 4.0.1 When selecting Tools,Options,Location Bar, set to nothing, As long as I am in same session of Firefox it retains setting. When closing the application and then starting up again the setting reverts to default.

Yahoo toolbar has perhaps taken over your browser. To change the default search engine for location bar,
Type in location bar - about:config
Search using filter - keyword.URL
Replace the yahoo address with - http://www.google.com/search?q=

Effect applied color bar on clips

In Premiere Pro CC there is an "FX" box instead. Which is fine, but is there a way to make this appear before the clip name so that way I can always see it? Or turn the effect applied color bar back on? It was helpful when applying effects to a bunch of clips to know which ones still didn't have an effect.
Hope there is a solution.

You cannot change the way the clip name and fx box appear or turn the box on/off.
When applying an effect to a clip the fx box turns purple just like it did with the color bar.

Best setting for night work under lights

I'm not sure if this the appropriate place to post this. If not can someone advise a good forum.
I am shooting with a Canon HFS10. I am shooting nocturnal animals feeding in the wild using tungsten balanced lights.
My question: Which is the best setting to use for such an event?
Portrait auto white balance
Program tungsten white balance, or
Night setting auto white balance.
I did some shooting on all 3 setting & tell the truth cannot see much difference. This was the reason for an earlier post asking about whether i-movie stored the video shooting conditions.

Of course this is a camera / videography question. I would say, from my own limited experience, that low light conditions might sometimes be handled best by the "auto" setting - let the camera adjust itself seems to gain best results for me.
Otherwise - I would also look for a user group on line: either for general video-making or for the specific camera you own.
Also remember that, in iMovie 8.0, double-clicking on any clip brings up the editing controls panel where you can adjust such things as Levels, brightness/exposure and saturation. These tools can compensate "noticeably" if not completely on clips shot under less than optimum conditions.

Set range selection on a clip using "X" not working!

So I just downloaded FCPX this afternoon and am trying to select a range on a clip in the Event Browser to then drag that selection down to the Timeline. On a 20 second clip, I press the "I" at 7 seconds in, then I press "O" at 14 seconds. That's the part of the clip I want. So then the FCPX Online User Guide tells me to do this:
In the Event Browser or the Timeline, move the skimmer (or the playhead) over a clip and press X.
Final Cut Pro sets the range selection start and end points at the clip start and end points.
Note: To use this X key method with connected clips or clips in a connected storyline, move the pointer directly over the clip and press X.
BUT, when I press X, it discards my "I" and "O" points and puts the yellow selection box around the entire clip again! It's very frustrating. Please help me, what am I doing wrong, or is this a bug? I'm up against a deadline and this is preventing me from moving forward because it won't "store" or remember, I don't know what to call it, my in and out points and the yellow bounded selection range on the clip!

Huh? Tom, thank you, but I'm not supposed to use the manual? I desperately need a User Guide. Is there one? And you did not explain what X does then, or what I am supposed to do? If the X does not do what that manual says, then how do I set the In and Out points on the clip?

Updated property of rowset is set for data table if I use convertors

I use data table for update database table. What I use is sale tax table of Pointbase. I use convertors for date effect and tax rate.
I just change 1 row of data table but Jcreator finds all row are updated. This is a waste of resource and performance. Here is the code (I copied from clip).

My guess is jCreator compares the text from data table and rowset's cache (???). as I display date and rate in formats I need.
My data table displays 10 rows so each time I change 1 row jCreator updates 10 rows of the data table.
Need clarification on this.

Ptrace denied for Windows application under Wine using linux-grsec

whenver I boot the linux-grsec kernel I'm not able to start a specific Windows application which works flawlessly with the normal kernel.

I guess that this could be avoided by disabling
kernel.grsecurity.harden_ptrace
and/or
kernel.grsecurity.ptrace_readexec
in /etc/sysctl.d/05-grsecurity-conf. But that's not what I really want. Is there another way how to circumvent this problem?

I'm seeing a similar problem with a Steam game that grsec occasionally causes to crash. Here's cllp from the journal:

I am using cross tab in crystal report.For the summarized field ,I have to set Fore color,and Backgroung color differenly.
Those colors I am getting from Database.While setting the colors all the cells of summarized field are showing the very first color code.
This is my function: in Basic syntax.

Here is what I am doing:

So, for each row vector and column vector I get one result in a cell in the third table.
(In this case, the answer is: 30,000,0000.09470*0.1099+00.3557... = 2,841,265; if you take the next row vector (one line down) and multiply it by the same column vector, you would get the 4,047,087 result in the last table, and so on..)
My problem was that when I used the title "Series E" instead of "E Series" in the Column Vector table and I tried to set it to "absolute row" - it would not work. When I changed it to "E Series" it did. Why? While I use "Series E" as a title elsewhere, I would assume that Numbers has an internal reference that includes the table name as part of the identifier so that there is no conflict.
Anyway - I seem to have solved it, but not in a way that makes sense to me and I sure would like to know what, if anything, I am doing wrong.

Working Space for Color Management...

Hello,
I'm working on a project with a series of still, all of which contain embedded sRGB color profiles (as these images were originally used for a web-based job). This video project will eventually go onto a SD DVD to be displayed on a SD NTSC television. When choosing my working space (for color management), should I use SDTV NTSC (or should I use sRGB and then specify SDTV NTSC in my output setting upon rendering? I'm leaning towards SDTV NTSC as my working space, but since I'm coming at this from a print background in color management, I'm wondering if someone could lend some advice?
Also, what should I select for these options (under Color Settings in Project Settings)...ie. should I or shouldn't I have them checked...
- Linearize Working Space
- Blend Colors Using 1.0 Gamma

Generally, yes. It helps avoid problems that can occur with inter-layer blending.

Can't find setting for IE10 Compatibility View in Group Policy Management Console.

Hoping this is easy.
I'm trying to use the Group Policy setting for Compatibility View under Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Internet Explorer and it is not there.
The domain controllers are 2008 Standard SP2, so not R2. We are using ADMX files from a central store.
If I open the local GPEdit on my Windows 7 workstation I can see the setting for Compatibility View but cannot see it using RSAT or on the domain controllers themselves.
How do I get this setting to appear so I can use it?

Copy %windir%\policydefinitions from your win7 WS to the central store:

Print to Tape color bars and black order

Hello. i'm about to print a videoclip for a tape. my question is the following, in the print to video setup theres is the option for color bars and black.. but the color bars come first and then the black. i would like to have the black first for 2 minutes and then color bars for 30 seconds..how can i do that?

I want full control over how things happen. As an added benefit, by keeping everything in the sequence timeline, I have the ability to use a custom countdown clock.

Color Bars from Missing Manuels page

I know this is probably obvious, but when I go to the Missingmanuels page to down load the color bars referred to by David Pogue in his IMovieHD book, it's a mystery to me what I'm supposed to click on. Search reveals nothing to a specific request for "color bars." Can someone help an old man? Thanks
