Setting GPS IPTC Longitude and Latitude During Import

Hi,
Is it possible to set the longitude and latitude (GPS coordinates in the respective IPTC fields) during insert and have the info automatically being written back into the original image?
Thanks,
Draellme

Hi
No, unfortunately not. Aperture can't write the GPS data into the master files. You could use a software like HoudahGeo to do that.

  • Finding longitude and latitude for a given location

    Hi
    I would like to find Longitude and Latitude for a given address.
    Is there any Oracle spatial function available for that?
    Paul

    Oracle does offer built-in geocoding functions, but you would need to purchase data from a POI vendor or create your own data to geocode against. Oracle takes care of parsing human-readable addresses but needs reference data sets to do lookups against in order to return the latitude and longitude amongst other things back to the caller.
    You can get sample data from OTN or possible an Oracle Partner like NAVTEQ to try this out.

  • Adding longitude and latitude?

    Is there a way to add longitude and latitude to the metadata in Lightroom 1.2? I have the coordinates from Google Earth and now would like to add that to the photos' metadata.
    Even better would of course be if it's possible to link a location to GPS coordinates, but I doubt that is possible atm.
    Currently I'm thinking of first exporting photos, then adding location coordinates through Picasa and then uploading to Smugmug and Flickr. But I would like to keep that data in Lightroom as well.
    Thanks!

    Try the free software below. Drag selected images straight from Lightroom (or the desktop or anywhere else) and drop them on Geotagger, and Geotagger adds the coordinates of the center of the current Google Earth view to the images.
    Geotagger
    If the GPS data doesn't show up in Lightroom after you drag, you may have to choose the Metadata > Read Metadata from File command, since the modification is done outside of Lightroom.
    There's also good info in
    this article, including info about Lightroom's built-in link to Google Maps when you click the GPS coordinates.

  • How to show regions markers in Google maps based on longitude and latitude. on-click of region marker i want to display all the country locations based on the region from share point list?

    Hello every one,
    In My requirement i am having  some regions with longitude and latitude in one SharePoint list. in another SharePoint list i am having the country values with longitude and latitude and region as look up field.  I want to display all the region
    markers in Google maps. on click of any region marker i want to zoom in the map to region level and i need to display all the country markers in Google maps under the region. can any body help me on this requirement.
    Thanks in advance,
    Venu.

    Not sure about Google Maps but this is fairly easy to do with Bing Maps. I've used Bing Maps with SharePoint lists fairly regularly. Here are some blog posts:
    http://blogs.bing.com/maps/2013/03/26/connecting-a-sharepoint-list-to-bing-maps/
    http://blogs.bing.com/maps/2013/03/07/geocoding-a-sharepoint-list-item/
    Once you have your sharepoint list connected to Bing Maps you can easily filter the list data based on the selected country if you have a country column in your list. If you want to take things a bit further an create a much cooler user experience you can
    also use the Bing Maps GeoData API to get the country boundaries and show them on the map as polygons. These could be color coded based on some metric, or set up as the clickable area on the map rather than a pushpin. Here is a blog post on how to use the
    GeoData API with the JavaScript Bing Maps control:

  • Longitude and Latitude to search by zip

    I found the formula that calculates distance with zip codes.
    Where do I get
    the 2nd long and lat for the formula? Do I add the distance
    (25 miles) to
    both long and lat to get the 2nd set of variables? Or do I
    use the base long
    and lat add and subtract to get the 2 sets?
    Has anyone done a search using zip codes to determine
    everything within a
    specific range (miles / kilometers)?
    And when I get the result of the formula, how does it apply
    to getting a
    range of zip codes? And how to I query using the result.

    I had to edit the cfc to work (the SQRT function was spelled

    gave me fits) and I had to capture and convert a whole new
    set of zip codes,
    longitudes and latitudes and convert them into the radiuses.
    But all in all
    it finally worked. The database on the example is written for
    MS SQL and I

    the text file,
    add headers to the data, save it as a CSV, take it using
    CFhttp and loop it
    into the MYSQL database while converting the longitude and
    latitude into
    'rlongitude' and 'rlatitude' which the CFC requires to make
    it work.
    Thanks again Ian. I still want to add you to my site with a

  • Lost Titles and Keywords during Importation from older Mac

    I have a brand new MacBook. The Apple store where I bought it transferred all my files from my old iBook G4 to the new machine. BUT . . . most of the 3000 photos in my old iPhoto (Vers. 5.0.4) file omitted all of the keywords and most of the titles during the transfer to iPhoto (Vers. 6.0.6). I think the shop used Migration Assistant for the transfer.
    I have tried 4 times to re-transfer, using Apples recommended method of "Import to Library . . ." using a firewire connection. But I have no better luck than did the Apple shop: most titles and all keywords missing.
    The importation also gave me something that I really don't want: The Original of every photo that I ever modified in the past now shows up in the Library. I guess it is important to have the originals stored somewhere, but why aren't they in a hidden file somewhere -- not right up there demanding attention every time I use iPhoto?
    I've been a Mac user since the beginning of time, but am now wondering (especially in view of the thousands of questions from other users as bewildered as I) if Apple hasn't gotten themselves into the category of "If you are smart enough to do it, you are too smart to try it". Should I just forget iPhoto, and put all of my photos into folders of my own creation, and manually copy all titles and keywords from my old Mac while I still have access to it?
    Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions.

    First off, there is no part of this process that involves using the 'import to library' function. If you want to do this, you'll be creating a new library and will lose your titles and keywords.
    The job is to get the iPhoto Library Folder from the old machine to the new machine.
    When you applied BatchMod, did you tick the box to apply to enclosed folders?
    Assuming that you did, then we're into file management issues. The usual things that prevent copying are File Permissions (and you've sorted that) or a damaged file.
    We'll try an copy the library over piecemeal, and see if we can track down the errant file. This is tricky, as we need to recreate the library exactly or the library won't work.
    On the New Machine Create a Folder in the Pictures Folder and call it iPhoto Library Folder.
    From the old Library, copy all the ancillary files - just the files, anything not in a folder.
    If they work, start moving through your Year Folders. If one doesn't copy, leave it and go on to the next one.
    Then, repeat the process until you discover the problem file(s) or folder(s) - it'll be one that won't copy.
    Remember, it is vital to make an exact copy of the iPhoto Library Folder on the new machine.
    Post back when you've got this done.
    Regards

  • Add longitude and latitude to a map manually from another page

    Ok, so I am very confused at this point. I am making an application in which I am sending coordinates over a page and into a string list, however, the maps "center" cannot be a string so I will need help with this.
    Here is my code so far:
    protected override void OnNavigatedTo(NavigationEventArgs e)
    this.navigationHelper.OnNavigatedTo(e);
    var list = e.Parameter as List<string>;
    Data_List.ItemsSource = list;
    Data_List.SelectedIndex = 0;
    Artist_Text.Text = Data_List.SelectedItem.ToString();
    Data_List.SelectedIndex = 1;
    Venue_Text.Text = Data_List.SelectedItem.ToString();
    Data_List.SelectedIndex = 2;
    Region_Text.Text = Data_List.SelectedItem.ToString();
    Data_List.SelectedIndex = 3;
    Date_Text.Text = Data_List.SelectedItem.ToString();
    Data_List.SelectedIndex = 4;
    Ticket_Text.Text = Data_List.SelectedItem.ToString();
    Data_List.SelectedIndex = 5;
    TicketStat_Text.Text = Data_List.SelectedItem.ToString();
    Data_List.SelectedIndex = 6;
    VenueMap.Center = Data_List.SelectedItem.ToString();
    Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance!
    Zack Bowling

    Hi ZackTheNever,
    Since a string can't be converted to a
    Geopoint, so we can't specify a string value for the
    Center property unless we use data binding.
    For more information, please try to refer to:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/dn642089.aspx .
    As a workaround we can do it as the following:
    For example your coordinate has been sent to the page in a string like this: "45.08,-45.08", then we can convert the string to a
    Geopoint and add it to the
    Center property.
    string test = Data_List.SelectedItem.ToString();
    var mytest = test.Split(',');
    Geopoint MyGeopoint=new Geopoint(new BasicGeoposition()
    Latitude =Convert.ToDouble(mytest[0]),
    Longitude = Convert.ToDouble(mytest[1])
    VenueMap.Center = MyGeopoint;

  • Different Colors and Lights during import of a converted DNG

    Hi all,
    i've recognized a problem if i want to import a DNG file whis was previously converted by the Adobe DNG converter.
    I'm using a Pentax Camera which generates PEF-Files of about 10 MB each. I'm using the DNG converter to reduce disk space (the converted ones are only 5 MB included the JPEG preview).
    Now i've seen that the pictures doesn't look like the original picture if i import them into lightroom. They are less colorful and 'colder' than the originals. This could be seen directly if i import one file in two formats (PEF, DNG) side by side.
    It looks like Lightroom/ACR doesn't recognize the embedded camera profile correctly. After opening the file with the DNG profile editor (from Adobe Labs) it looks correctly and i can see, that the Pentax-Profile is used. But this doesn't do either Lightroom or Photoshop CS 4 with installed ACR.
    In a different tool (Capture One), i can see also the differencies and the profile 'DNG default' is unsed. In this tool i'm able to select the camera which is used for taking the picture. If i do this, the colors look correctly as soon as i change it.
    Any ideas for this? I bought Lightroom for a lot of money and i don't want to change my tool again.
    Thanks

    Hi Dave,
    yes, thats generally what i want to do.
    I have the PEF-Files out of my camera and i convert them with the Adobe DNG converter to the DNG format. The old Pentax K100D is using uncompressed PEF, thats why the pictures are twice the size than the converted DNG
    If i import these files for further processing into Lightroom, they are looking similar to the originals viewed with another application (e.g. the pentax development tool) for a second, after that Lightroom is changing the preview to the settings of the Adobe Profile. Colors are much more colder and less colorful. If i try to change the profile in the developement tab, there are no visible changes to the picture.
    I've downloaded the DNG Converter and Camera RAW. There are several profiles included, but i don't know how to use them with Lightroom or Photoshop CS4 (with installed ACR).
    I've created a screenshot of the differencies so you know what i mean.
    Screenshot
    On the left side you can see the developed JPEG via PEF out of the Pentax-Software (Silkypix), on the right is the developed JPEG out of the DNG via Lightroom. Both files are without any further changes to the development process.
    The left picture corresponds to the original conditions.

  • Variable not set (error 91)/Error during import (error 102)/execut bat file

    We are on BO 11.5.0.0 and using the COM SDK with Visual Basic to run multiple reports (sometimes multiple flavors of the same report) through a bat file.
    If we run the reports single-threaded through the bat file, the reports run fine.  However, if multiple versions of the bat file start at approximately the same time, we get one of two errors:
    91 Object variable or With block variable not set
    102 Error during import document -
    Here's the part of the code with the problem:
    Dim BOapp As busobj.Application
    Dim receiveDoc As busobj.Document
    Set BOapp = New busobj.Application
    BOapp.Interactive = False
    BOapp.Logon strUser, strPass, strFromSystem, "Enterprise", False, False
    BOapp.Visible = False
    Set receiveDoc = BOapp.Documents.OpenFromEnterprise(strFromRep, strFromFolder, boFolder)
    receiveDoc.SaveAs (strDocumentPath & strFromRep & ".REP")
    Values for the following variables are passed in from the bat file:
    strUser
    strPass
    strFromSystem
    strFromRep
    strFromFolder
    strDocumentPath
    If it fails on the OpenFromEnterprise statement, we get the 102 error.
    If it fails on the SaveAs statement, we get the 91 error.
    Running it through debug hasn't helped, since we are running only one report.
    Any thoughts on what could be going wrong?
    Thanks in advance

    I have tried this running the VB code on my desktop (outside of the bat file) and nothing out of the ordinary occurs.  The VB code runs fine with only one occurrence.
    I had seen on other posts "ThisDocument" and didn't know if it would be applicable in this situation.  I also wasn't sure how it should be used based on the rest of my code.  Would "ThisDocument" make a difference?
    Thanks again

    I use a mac ios and shoot raw in a cannon 5d mark ii and shortly upon import of my images lightroom darkens and changes my images. This has happened before but not every time. The strange part is my last shoot had the same camera setting but this did not happen. The images i have now i can not use after lightroom has automatically altered them even if i try editing back to how they looked upon import

    First thing to do is to change the default camera profile applied in Lightroom to camera standard (assuming that you shoot Canon or Nikon). Also make sure that your camera is NOT set up to use any of the HDR modes. Nikon calls those Active Dynamic Lighting. On Canons you often see things like highlight priority mode or "Auto Lighting Optimizer". Make sure that the picture style is set to standard and that for newer Canons the HDR mode is turned off. Most of the HDR modes simply underexpose the image and then add an instruction in the raw file to compensate for this to prevent highlights from being blown out. This causes more noise in the shadows and if you know what you are doing there is no point to this as you should simply expose correctly and get the highest quality raw.
    Lastly, make sure that in Lightroom you have not checked "Apply Auto Tone Adjustments" in Preferences->Presets. This should make the default rendering of the raw files the same as the in-camera jpeg (what the camera shows on the back even if you shoot raw) but still give you all the latitude of raw files.

  • Lost IPTC meta data on TIFF import -- old and unsolved problem?

    Hi,
    this is my first post, after using Aperture on a casual basis for 7 months.
    Browsing the forum I found the same problem in older threads but the solutions do not help in my case: When I export pictures with IPTC I set in Graphic Converter, metadata will be imported from the RAW (NEC from a Nikon D80) and from JPEG files, but not from the TIFF, whatever encoding or byte order I choose.
    Any help in that matter?
    Thanks,
    Maria

    You didn't say which version of Aperture you are using. Up until the recent updates I found Aperture missed, or cut off, a log of IPTC data when I imported RAW files. This seems to be solved with the current version, but ratings still don't get imported.
    I used Annoture (http://www.tow.com/annoture/) to copy over the data. I would import the images into Aperture, then also into iView Media Pro. I'd select all the images in Aperture and then run Annoture. Annoture would take all the IPTC data from the iView catalogue and copy them to the selected images in Aperture (also works on selected projects I think).
    It's a long winded solution, but did the job.

  • Can not find size_t during import a dll and calling a function crash labview

    Hello, experts
    I need to use FingerLakeInstrument  DLL ( see the attached) inside Labview to talk to a CCD camera. it is built from microsoft visual studio C++
    I unzip FLI dll in my D:\proj\...\linfli-32 and import dll from there. created a c:\FLIDBG.txt as FLI dll needs to write debug message to it if FLISetDebugLevel() or others are called.
    During importing the dll, first thing I got is <sys/types.h>  ( ie size_t ) cannot be found. I have installed free version of microsoft visual studio C++
    but can not find "typedef unsigned int size_t"
    at the end, I just added
     typedef unsigned int size_t;
    in the libfli.h. Having done that, I am able to import all functions into Labview and have a user library called libfli.
    However, as soon as I start calling a simple function in a test.vi, such as FLIGetLibVersion(char* ver, size_t len), which involves nothing other than the library, the labview will crash.
    I created a simple C test.exe which calls many functions without any problem
    any suggstion?

    Hi, Smercurio_fc
    thanks for your reply. Yes, you are pointing to the right place.  I have solved the crash problem.
    when importing DLL into Labview using Tools\import\Shared Library (.dll), Labview automatically set the calling convention as C not as stdcall (WINAPI).  it is this that later the labview crashes when a function is called.  as soon as I manually re-selecte calling convention as stdcall, my test.vi works OK (see attached).
    I tried Call Library Function too to call libfli.dll, as long as I select stdcall as call convetion. the test.vi works.
    How do I know which Call convention I need to choose if  there is no infomation from DLL provider?
    as for the size_t,
    I add   #include <crtdefs.h> in libfli.h and
     add additional include path as
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC\include.  this  solved the "not found" issue.
    for this case I know that the DLL is built from VC++,  is this right way?
    again, thanks for your time.

    Hi Jan,
    First, check whether your STMS is configured properly. Next check the transport directory and the transport tool from within STMS (system -> check in menu options).
    If these 2 are ok, then you might check from within the OS layer by manually adding to buffer (tp add to buffer <Request No> <SID>).
    Also, I am assuming you are doing this from client 000 with a non-standard user having proper authorizations.
    I believe this to be an issue of permissions at the OS layer.
