Setting image to home/lock screen in ios7

When I try to scale an image for my home or lock screen in settings/wallpaper, the image won't set and it expands again. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Wait for apple to fix it.
There is a work around that will at least make it better. Go in through your photos app, select your picture and then send it to be wallpaper. You have a bit more control than you do going in through the settings panel.

How do I set a customized lock screen in iOS7?

Thank you, but I need to put my name and contact info on an image to be the lock screen.  It is what my university really really wants us to do.  I used to be able to make a PowerPoint or Keynote page, save it as a jpeg, email it to myself and open it on the iPad, send it to cameral roll, then have the option to set it as the lock screen there.  Can't do that any more.

  • HT4623 Is anyone else having issues with scaling down photos to fit the screen for home and lock screens with ios7??

Is anyone else having issues with scaling down photos to fit the screen for home and lock screens with ios7??  Installed ios7 this morning. Tried to use one of my photos from camera roll as background for lock screen and I can't scale the photo to fit the screen.  Never had a problem before and now when I pinch the photo to get it to the right size of the screen, it won't stay that way. The photo is enlarged way beyond the screen size so it doesn't look right. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hello, cliffiapp4.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are the steps that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

  • Why "Home & Lock Screen" consume more than 20% battery life in iOS 8.3?

Hi, I also got the battery issue after upgrading to the iOS 8.3.
My battery will drop from 100% to 30% within 4 hour battery usage (you can find this is the data in the Settings->General->Battery Usage->Usage)
When I go to check the battery usage of each app, I see "Home & Lock Screen" use 23% battery within 24 hours.
I just dont understand what does "Home & Lock Screen" do basically, and why it consumed so much battery usage?
Anyone has idea or the similar situation?
    I'm using iPhone 5s

Hey guys, I believe it can let you extends your battery life significantly by doing the following.
(I did an experiment by myself in these days)
    1. Turn off the hands off
    2. Turn off the non-necessary background app refresh
    3. Turn off the Suggested Apps, both My Apps and App Store
    4. Set the location service for every app into "While Using" if you are able to
By doing the settings above, I can extends my battery life 15% and more.
    I am using iPhone5s and iOS8.3

  • Having trouble moving/scaling pic 4 home/lock screen...

I just updated to iOS7 on my mini-iPad, when I try to use a picture for either home/lock screen I try to scale n move the picture(landscape mode) like before the iOS7 update n it snaps back to a very zoomed in view of my picture n won't save or hold zooming out, moving the frame around so, what's going with that???

    Everybody  had this problem.

  • Home & Lock screen battery usage 47%

Iphone 5 IOS 8.  In checking the new features on IOS 8, I noticed that the Battery Usage for Home & Lock Screen is 47%.  Battery replaced on 09/12/14.  Is this normal?

I have been having this issue off and on since the 8.0.2 update. I seemed to fix it, then 8.1 brought it back... thought I got it in order again, and mostly, it runs ok..then suddenly the battery just drains like crazy! Granted... my phone is about a year old, so probably is about time to replace the battery anyway... but it's this unpredictability that is bothering me! I almost have to keep it plugged in at night now because I use it as an alarm clock, and a couple of times, the battery has nearly totally drained within just a few hours of sitting there! Last night, I know I looked at it in the middle of the night and it was at about 85%, but then this morning, suddenly, it had dropped to less than 10%! Same thing earlier this week. It was sitting on my desk by my computer and it had been fine and suddenly the insufficient battery symbol was flashing! If it were just the battery going bad, I would have expected it to consistently drain, but it seems fine some days.
One thing I did consider is that we have some apple charger cables and some cheap, third party ones....and sometimes it seems that, while they seem to charge the phone, that the charge doesn't hold as well... but it isn't consistent either. I do know that the colorful ones target sells are NOT good! they cut off some of the sound when plugged in (video, text alerts etc), and if you try to use it as a data transfer cable to your computer, the transfer seems to get stuck.

  • Why does image / photo in lock screen appear like background?

why does image / photo in lock screen appear blurred in ios 7.0.3 on iphone 5?

Sorry, the image is not visible.
Some  of the display settings are stored in PRAM. PRAM reset is harmless.

  • Unable to scale a pic to "full size" when choosing a home & lock screen.

Why can't I scale a picture when I'm given the opportunity to "move and scale" a picture when making it my home and lock screens? If I pinch it to include the whole picture, it snaps back to a zoomed in version and over half of it is cropped out. Is this a problem with iOS7? Will it be resolved soon? Thanks.

    Hi Mara,
This is apparently a bug in iOS 7. Take a look at the posts to the right under "More Like This". Several users have come up with creative workarounds for this. Hopefully it will be fixed soon in an upcoming release!

  • Cannot set wallpaper on the lock screen

I've just been trying to change my wallpaper on the lock screen of my iPhone 5C (iOS v7.0.3 or 11B511) and it doesn't accept any wallpaper I select.  It keeps coming back with the same grey wallpaper irrespectively of what I select.
Has anyone seen this behaviour and maybe know how to resolve it?
Sounds like iOS 7 could benefit from a bit more QA testing, Apple...

No, it is not a bug. It is something occuring exclusive to you device. Mine (and everyone I know using iOS 7 is not seeing this issue. A couple of things you might try:
Carefully follow the procedure an ensure you are doing correctly. You probably are, but since I can actually look over your shoulder ...
Ensure you are using an image that can function as wall paper (i.e. try several). Also, if you have reduced motion, you may have an issue using dynamic backgrounds (but I have NOT tested this myself).
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • Is there any way to keep the charge indicator bar onscreen in the lock screen in IOS7? And can I keep the call in progress screen up instead of going to wallpaper while a call is dialing?

IOS6 had a charge indicator bar on the lock screen that allowed me to see at a gance how much charge I had. Now it only flashes onscreen when I first connect the charger for about 1-2 seconds. I know the icon in the top right shows percentage, but it is too small to get an accurate look.
Also, when a call is in the progress of dialing my phone just shows the wall paper instead of the whole call control screen. I can hit the home button then hit the return to call bar at the top of the screen to get the control screen, but that is annoying to say the least. If I accidentally dial a number while navigating my contacts or one of the apps it takes several steps to cancell the call before completion.
I know my wallpaper may be pretty, but I don't need to see it while trying to use the phone instead of having control of the phone or seeing desired information (charge indicator).

I have a similar issue. Sound works okay but keep getting the app not optimized, you may experience a decrease in celluar strength. Verizon says it is a software issue. Apple says it is a hardware. Phone will niot synch to itunes to do any kind of reset.

  • Iphone 4 - Top toolbar shifted to the left on home/lock screens??

It's like the toolbar at the top has somehow shifted over to the left on the homescreen and lockscreen of my phone.. taking away my clock, signal, etc... (see pictures below that I took) This only happened after I downloaded a software update last night.. called, iOS 5.1..?? I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Whenever I open an app, it goes back to normal though..
I keep my phone in one of those super heavy duty otter box cases so it's not physically damaged or anything..might not be relevant but just throwing that out there!! =)
Has this happened to anyone? Can it be fixed?!
also.. on a side note, the option to open the camera from the lock screen is now on my phone, don't know how it got there.. did that come with the software update, and is it a setting you can choose whether or not to have on there?

Try restart, reset, restore to solve the tool bar.
The camera is a new feature.  You cannot change it.

  • Why does the picture always zoom in when I try to set one for my lock screen or background?

When I chose a picture for my lock screen wallpaper it automatically zooms in on the picture. I cannot zoom out because it will not let me. I've tried different sites, reseting and I cant make any major adjustments without losing all my pictures, videos, ect. Is there something in the settings that needs to be changed or is this just a bug that Apple needs to work out?

On the Home screen, double-tap with three fingers to exit zoom.
Then go to Settings > General > Accessibility and make sure Zoom is turned Off.

  • Wallpaper and lock screen in iOS7

Is anyone else having a problem with photos going GIANT in your lock screen.  When I try to scale it, it just keeps bouncing back to HUGE.  The photo I had in my phone as the lock screen doesn't work now, and every photo I try comes out gigantic.
    Can someone help with that??
    Thanks

A lot of people are having this problem. I chatted with a developer earlier tonight and she said that it's been present ever since the 5th Beta version of iOS 7, which is absolutely amazing that no one either reported it or that Apple didn't care to fix it.

  • How to disable "slide to call" feature for missed calls from lock screen on ios7

I realized that when the iphone (running iOS7) is locked, the“Slide to Call” allows anyone to make an outgoing call to the missed calls from a locked phone (with passcode).
it is nice feature for people who don't care about locking their phone.but I believe there should be an option to disable the “slide to call” or at least require password before allowing the outgoing call to go through.
This is a serious security issue.it should be user configurable.
Hope Apple will take it seriously and release a update for the same.
