Setting Keyboard Shortcuts for Services won't work

I've tried to set Keyboard Shortcuts for Services like "New Terminal Tab from Folder" but it won't work. I even tried it on my friend's machine to no avail.
Here's where I'm setting it up. And yes, I've turned on the checkbox & set the shortcut I want. I've even tried a few different keyboard shortcuts that are complicated to ensure that it's not competing with something else.
To note, I'm using TotalFinder but my friend, whose machine I tested this on, doesn't.
We are both running 10.8.2 on the latest MacBook Pro with Retina Display, 15".

I have a similar scenario......except my services that I created run one time, and then won't run again.
For example, I created a service to open a new blank email message for me to type in. I assigned Cntl-Opt-Comm-M to this service. I hit the key sequence and it works the first time.....the mail window pops open.
If I then close the mail window that it spawned and do it again, no mail window opens.
I also did this to create a blank Calendar event and also another one for Reminders.
They all run one time and then not again.
Any ideas?

Keyboard shortcuts for text selection not working in Flash CC

In the new Code Editor in Flash CC running on Mac OS X, most standard Keyboard Shortcuts for traversing through the text work as expected (as the Operating System works globally) but there is one that doesn't and it's I think the most important one.
Hitting "OPTION + SHIFT + [right or left arrow keys]" to select words doesn't work. Hitting "OPTION + [right or left arrow keys]" works as expected, moving the cursor to the next word or break point, but adding shift doesn't do the selection.
I don't understand why this changed since it's a basic OS global shortcuts, and every other program behaves the way it should. Flash CS6 running on the same system behaves fine, but Flash CC doesn't. If you have ever written code, you know that any second that a programmers hand doesn't have to leave the keyboard to search for the mouse is invaluable, and this has forced me to stop using Flash CC and use Flash CS6 to edit my Action Script classes becuase it's unusable otherwise.
These shortcuts are also not listed in the keyboard shortcuts for the program, so I can't change the default behavior. Does anybody know if there's a way to set it back to the way it was before, or just disable special text shortcuts so that selecting text behaves like any other application in the operating system?

Amy~ Yep the lasso tool was what I verified with another user. 'L' seems to be bound indefinitely to loop through different types of lasso tools and it was annoying them because they just wanted L to be the regular freehand lasso. I removed 'L' from being an option on the polygon lasso and even set it explicitly to SHIFT+L as well as set the lasso tool to a completely different keyboard combo. 'L' still cycled through lassos haha. It needs some fixes.

Customized keyboard shortcuts for microsoft Word not working

Hi,
My Macbook Pro retina 15' with an updated Yosemite iOS 10.10.1 has an american keyboard. I am trying to create keyboard shortcuts for brazilian accent marks to use in Microsoft Word. I went to "system preferences", "keyboard", "shortcuts", "App Shortcuts", added Microsoft Word and, for the brazilian accent mark " ˜ ", which in the original keyboard is obtained with "option+n", I set the shortcut "option+left arrow".
It just does not work. I created other shortcuts for other brazilian accent marks with the other arrows + control but none of them worked.
Can anyone tell me what went wrong?

Keyboard Shortcuts for Mail won't stick

Hi. I've created a keyboard shortcut for Mail--Command-K to Get All New Mail--and changed the conflicting command (Command-K normally will Erase Deleted Messages in All Accounts). It worked well when I set it up, but only once. As soon as I quit out, my Keyboard Shortcut for Get All New Mail disappeared. Meanwhile, my new keyboard shortcut for Erase Deleted Messages in All Accounts still works.
And there's more: if I reset the "Command-K to Get All New Mail" shortcut, it will work only until I quit. And that's the case with no matter what shortcut I set up for "Get All New Mail." What gives? Any suggestions?

I'm surprised there hasn't been a reply to this, since this discussion board is one of the best around. Is there a more appropriate board in this forum for me to you post this?

Keyboard shortcut for services not working

I'm using a service called Quickfiles (it lets me create a new file in the selected folder without having to open the corresponding app first). The service works great when accessed through the services menu, and I have gone into my keyboard preferences (keyboard shortcuts) and assigned a keyboard shortcut to the service (command-control-N) but nothing happens when I use the shortcut. I have tried making a couple alternative shortcuts for that service but nothing ever happens when I hit the key combo, even though the service always works perfectly when accessed from the services menu. Any ideas?

Yes, testing with a "test" account is always a good idea.
(First look shows that it's related to problems associating Documents with Applications, which this isn't).
I wouldn't be too certain on that stance, Menu items associate with something to do their work!

Keyboard shortcut for display is not working

I have an external keyboard because my internal one is damaged, When I set up the keyboard shortcut settings when I first got the keyboard I made sure the display short cuts are set, it worked, though when I changed the short cut values to be something else because it conflicted with a program I am using it stopped working, When I set the shortcut keys back to what I first put them when I got the external keyboard it still did not work.
I use Macbook air 13-inch, Mid 2011, Software OS X 10.9.4
My mac is up to date on this posts time.

Sorry, I don't have an answer, and I am not a Mac user so not familiar with their problems, but ISTR another Mac use posting with the same issue recently. Are you using Mavericks? There are apparently a number of bug issues that the PS team has made Apple aware of.
But in case that is not the issue here, is this with the Background layer? Shift F5 works OK for me on a BG layer, but you might find the Del key works better for you.
Not strictly related, but for other CC users reading this thread, Trevor Morris has released a CC version of his famous Photoshop Keyboard Shortcuts PDF, as well as an Extension that applies a number of custom shortcuts. I didn't think there were any going spare! I am also a big fan of the Michael Ninnis Power Shortcuts video from last year's Adobe Max, and there are bound to be conflicts

Keyboard shortcuts in CS4 won't work! Please help!

In the last month I have lost all of my keyboard shortcuts in my CS4 program. I was using Windows Vista Professional - and installed CS4 in August. Everything was working great. Then last month, all of the shortcuts disappeared. I uninstalled/then reinstalled CS4 - still nothing. Have done that several times, and looked on the forums for similar issues, in the Technotes - nothing. Yesterday my office upgraded my system to Windows 7. I am on a new HP Elitebook - also purchased in August, so my system can handle the program with ease.
Anyway, I had the IT guy do a 'clean install' per most of the chatter online, so i went to install the program and the install came up with 'errors' first was that Adobe 9 was not installed, nor was Photoshop. When i opened up illustrator - poof - no keyboard shortcuts again. Please if anyone knows of something that I could try, I would really appreciate it. This is seriously making me behind in projects and am ready to throw my new computer out the gigantic window that is in front of my desk.
Oh, since this - I updated my graphics driver (per suggestion for Photoshop), unistalled CS4 - AGAIN - and am in the process of reinstalling. But I am pretty sure that the shortcuts will be missing.

How do I set keyboard shortcut for 'Get Mail'?

Went to system preferences - keyboard - shortcuts - App shortcuts and added Mail.app
Get Mail cmd G
However, it doesn't work. It just makes a nasty noise when I'm in mail and use the shortcut.

The command is Get New Mail. It already has a keyboard shortcut, Shift-Command-N. Command-G is already used for Find Next (i.e., find the next occurrence of a find text).

How to set Keyboard shortcuts for Flash Pro CS6?

I have started to use Flash Pro CS6, but my keyboard shortcuts such as F6 to insert a new Keyframe didn't work..I soon found that you could create your own Keyboard Shortcut list within the Flash application, and I am trying to enter F6 for a new Keyframe, but it only lets me enter one letter/number at a time and deletes the other one. I have made sure that F6 isn't in use. It now isn't, any help would be appreciated.

if no shortcut works, try resetting your flash pro preferences:
Hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) or Shift+Command+Option (Mac) when starting flash pro.

Keyboard shortcut for Copies has never worked in print dialog

I don't know if this is the right place to report a bug, but it has always irritated me that the keyboard shortcut ALT-C to move the focus to the Copies field has never worked in the Adobe Reader print dialog. It should work as the underscore exists in "Copies:" I use the shortcut all the time in Office whenever i want to print more than one copy. It would be nice if this would work in Adobe Reader also. How to set keyboard shortcut for popup enter as spacebar?

I want to create a shortcut where I can use a spacebar for all the popup's action.
It is very cumbersome, to scroll to the popup and then select an action for the popup.
It would be very easy, If I can use tab to scroll amongst the option of popup and press spacebar to select an action.

See System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcut > (at the bottom) Full Keyboard Access > select "All controls."

Keyboard Shortcuts for curves in cs4 work intermittently:

The keyboard short for curve adj. layers to select existing anchor points is plus and minus (which would be shift =, and shift -). Sometimes this works, and other times it results in a "blending change" for the layer. Anyone know how to fix this?
Similarly, sometimes the up, down, left and right arrows do not move the points. Sometimes they do. What's up?

Ah ha! Thank you. It does it (blending change) with the pen tool group, the path and direct selection tools, and the line and shape tools selected. But not the eyedropper family. How strange. Inadequate beta testing? One less annoyance in my work flow. Thanks. CB

How do I setup a keyboard shortcut for an item in the Services menu?

In every Application, under the application menu is a "Services" folder. I would like to be able to setup a keyboard shortcut for one of these services (namely Skype).
I am a heavy user of the "Services > Skype > Call" command and I would love to have a keyboard shortcut for it.
I went to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts, clicked on the plus sign to create a new shortcut (all applications) and entered "Services…Skype…Call" and assigned it to a keyboard command (shift-F1).
It doesn't work. Any clue as to what I am doing wrong?

Keyboard shortcuts for cropping not working

iPhoto '11 (9.3.1) cropping shortcuts not working.
Pressing shift while dragging does not disable the "Contrain" setting when using preset sizes. Nothing happens.
What are we supposed to "drag vertically" or "horizontally" in a preset crop size that makes iPhoto switch between portrait or landscape constrain setting?
Having to go to the "Crop" drop-down menu to click-switch contraints between portrait and landscape is very tiring - these shortcuts don't work unless someone can please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

In order to support keyboard shortcuts for the Tag Panel we needed to implement a bit of a unique method. The Tag Panel itself does indeed need to have focus in order for it's keyboard shortcuts to activate. The core reason for this is to remove the potential for keyboard shortcut conflicts between the rest of the app the those stored within a Tag template. Remember, you can share Tag Templates across system and with other users. and each template can contain it's own shortcut definitions. The only way to prevent conflicts is to enforce the focus rule.
the recommended workflow is to open a clip and set focus to the Tag Panel. From the Tag Panel all of the Transport Controls (JKL, SPACE BAR for play/pause, etc.) will still function when the Tag Panel has focus. So you should still be able to review your clips and apply Tags via shortcut.
Let me know how this works. We are always looking to improve workflows so if you come up with some improvement ideas please share.
