Setting Levels to 0.0 DB

Is there a way to set all volume level to 0.0 and all Pan to center by rubberbaning the tracks in the mixer and 1 click..
Thanks

Option click on the Channel strip fader will rest it to zero. Option click on the Pan control will reset it to center. You can move all the volume controls in unison by rubberbanding any number of channel strips but they will all move relative to one another so option clicking will not reset them all to zero unless they were all previously set to the exact same value. Pan reset is independent per channel strip regardless of what is selected. There may be a better answer to this but so far I haven't found a way to accomplish exactly what you're asking.

  • Moving Patch Channel Strips to Set Level

    I have a patch setup I would like to move to a Set level, complete with it's layout, channel strips, plug-ins, and instruments. Is this possible in MainStage 1? How? And, iƒ not, is it possible in MainStage 2?
    Thanks.....

    The simplest way is to do it by channel strip, for each channel strip, position your mouse over the Setting block, right click, choose "Copy Channel Strip Setting", go to your Set (insert a new channel strip if you have to) then right-click over the Setting block again and choose "Paste Channel Strip Setting".

  • One instrument on "set" level, and one instrument on "patch" level?

    Hi there,
    I'm using MainStage 3 as my DAW on a MacBook. I want to have one instrument on the "set" level, and then have a patch underneath that contains another instrument to layer on top. (The intention is to have a whole lot of different patches within the set to have different instruments layer on top.) For some reason, the instrument on the "set" level works, but there is no sound coming from the instruments I created within the patch! The instrument within the patch doesn't even appear as a layer in the workspace either.
    Why is this? What am I doing wrong? Do all instruments need to be within the same level to work?
    Alex

    You seem to have ignored the alert that shows up when you add an instrument at the set level:
    Creating a channel strip at the set level.
    The channel strip you are creating will be active in all the patches in the set. Controls mapped to this channel strip will supercede mappings in your patches. You can override these mappings in an individual patch by creating a mapping for the patch and selecting the "Override Parent" checkbox for the control.
    The "Override parent range" can be found at the layer editor in the patch.

  • How to set levels values in adjustment layer via script?

    I try to make a script which generates a non destructive adjustment layer for levels which already sets values for shadow levels and highlight levels. I tried the scripting listener in order to record it. Unfortunately the scripting listener only records the creation of adjustment layers but not their settings like shadow or highlight levels.
    The first question here: Why can't the scripting listener do this?
    So I tried to do it on my own and came up with the following script which won't work. My second question therefore is, can you help me to make a script which achieves my goal? Thanks a lot. I use Photoshop CC 2014.
    var desc780 = new ActionDescriptor();
    desc780.putInteger( charIDToTypeID( "ShdL" ), 60 );
    desc780.putInteger( charIDToTypeID( "HghL" ), 190 );
    var list126 = new ActionList();
    list126.putObject( charIDToTypeID( "LvlA" ), desc780 );
    var desc779 = new ActionDescriptor();
    desc779.putList( charIDToTypeID( "Adjs" ), list126 );
    executeAction( charIDToTypeID( "Lvls" ), desc779, DialogModes.NO );
    Here is the script which has been recorded by the scripting listener. As you can see there is no setting of the adjustment layer.
    var idMk = charIDToTypeID( "Mk  " );
    var desc188 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var idnull = charIDToTypeID( "null" );
    var ref135 = new ActionReference();
    var idAdjL = charIDToTypeID( "AdjL" );
    ref135.putClass( idAdjL );
    desc188.putReference( idnull, ref135 );
    var idUsng = charIDToTypeID( "Usng" );
    var desc189 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var idType = charIDToTypeID( "Type" );
    var desc190 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var idpresetKind = stringIDToTypeID( "presetKind" );
    var idpresetKindType = stringIDToTypeID( "presetKindType" );
    var idpresetKindDefault = stringIDToTypeID( "presetKindDefault" );
    desc190.putEnumerated( idpresetKind, idpresetKindType, idpresetKindDefault );
    var idLvls = charIDToTypeID( "Lvls" );
    desc189.putObject( idType, idLvls, desc190 );
    var idAdjL = charIDToTypeID( "AdjL" );
    desc188.putObject( idUsng, idAdjL, desc189 );
    executeAction( idMk, desc188, DialogModes.NO );

  • Setting levels on a digimax only not in the software

    Hi Folks,
    I'm running Logic express 8 with a Presonus Firestudio and Digimax FS set up for 16 live preamps...here's the question: now that I have the digimax slaved to the firestudio and the clock settings in the right place when I try to record on track 9 (or adat 9) I can set the peak level on the digimax but not in logic, am I missing something right under my nose?

    That's the way.....
    You have to check the input level from the interface, not from Logic.
    But you should be able to obtain the right configuration using the Presonus Mixer (or whatever is called...).
    If you don't have it on the Presonus CD download it: no setup needed.
    cheers

  • Setting levels with insert effects

    My understanding is that when tracking in Logic Pro, you should aim for average levels of about -12 dBFS, with peaks around -6 dBFS. When I'm recording an electric guitar track via DI with no insert effects, this isn't hard to do: with the input gain turned all the way down, my Scarlett 18i20 gives me a nice level on my Les Paul at just about that.
    But when I'm performing, I need to hear what the guitar is going to sound like through an amp, so I place an insert AmpliTube AU patch on the track (along with EQ, noise gate, etc.). But now my nice -12 dBFS average level is more like 0 dBFS.
    But does this matter? The audio is captured with plenty of headroom. I can bring the level down in the mix with the fader. So I don't really care if, with the insert effects, the level shows as 6 or 10 dB higher than the pre-effects level, right? So long as I'm not clipping the output, it shouldn't matter, correct?

    Correct.

  • Patch set level for financial family

    Hai All
    I have some confusion regrding family & module. These are quries
    1) what is the difference between a family and a module.
    2) what are the different families and modules present & how to find out them in oracle applications.
    3) How can we find patchset level for a particular family in OA
    4) How can we find out different products in present in each family.

    1) what is the difference between a family and a module.Module is a specific Oracle Applications product (i.e. GL, AR, AP, FA, CE, ..etc).
    Minipack: An aggregation of patches at the product level. For example, Inventory Minipack G (11i.INV.G) contains all the latest patches for the Inventory product at the time the minipack was created. Minipacks are named in alphabetical sequence such as 11i.INV.E, 11i.INV.F, 11i.INV.G, and so on. Minipacks are cumulative. In other words, 11i.INV.G contains everything in 11i.INV.F, which contains everything in 11i.INV.E, and so on. The terms patchset and minipack are often used interchangeably.
    Family Pack: An aggregation of patches at the product family level. For example, Financials Family Pack C (11i.FIN_PF.C) contains all the latest patches for products in the Financials family at the time the family pack was created. Family product codes always end in "_PF" and family packs are given alphabetical sequence such as 11i.HR_PF.B, 11i.HR_PF.C, and 11i.HR_PF.D. Family packs are cumulative. In other words, Discrete Manufacturing Family Pack G (11i.DMF_PF.G) contains everything in 11i.DMF_PF.F, which contains everything in 11i.DMF_PF.E, and so on.
    2) what are the different families and modules present & how to find out them in oracle applications- Use Patchset comparison tool - patchsets.sh

  • Setting levels

    I've been using Sound Forge at home, but at work I'm using Soundbooth. Something I really miss is the ability to adjust the volume level of a track, which I can easily do with sliders in SF, but I can't find anything that allows this in SB. Instead, it seems all I can do is choose Edit>Make Louder, then I'm stuck with whatever the Adobe engineers decide is the appropriate level. Can anyone tell me how I can adjust the levels to what I want?

    Highlight the area you wish to alter and use the knob that appears.

  • Setting levels for bounce

    Hello all_
    Which is better when bouncing. Keeping the levels from clipping using the individual track faders or just lowering the Global output fader covering all the tracks. Is it better to keep the global output high or does matter at all. Just wondering how you all do this.
    Thanks for any info
    RealDave_

    as a general suggestion, you might want to invest in a book or find a short course you can take on basic audio engineering. what you're talking about here is referred to as 'gain structure' and it's an important and fundamental part of how you work with multitrack audio production. it's not a specific thing to logic, it's just one of the principles of audio engineering. it used to be a lot more critical in analog days when you were figthing against the accumulation of noise as you added more and more tracks together. today it's not the same anymore but there's still a lot to gained from developing good technique in this area.
    back in the day I know craig anderton put out a lot of great books that covered this kind of thing. maybe a bit of a search at amazon.com or even google will come up with some good material that you can look into.
    but in the meantime, here's a basic guideline: you should always be careful to ensure that you get healthy levels going on all your parts, and that you try to avoid overloading your master fader. healthy levels means that you're going to be making the best use of your dynamic range and getting the best resolution in your audio. and if you balance it all well and keep your master channel from getting too hot, you'll find it easier to mix without needing to do anything too drastic and pull back all your levels at bounce time. also, be sure to always work at 24 bit! there's no reason not to with today's gear, and it really does make it so much easier to get good sound without having to be too precious about your levels at all times. when you do your final mix, you just dither down to 16 bit.. or, if you're taking your stuff to a mastering house, output your mixes at 24 bit still, and they will master it at that bit depth and then produce final masters at 16 bit for you.

  • How to set levels for external swf's??? loading code added!

    hi,
    im using flash cs5, as2.
    i have a main index fla that loads into it 5 swf's.
    i need these 5 to be loaded into a lower level than the main index fla (index has to be the highest level)
    how can this be acheived?
    i have no idea on how or where to code this.
    my code for loading the movies is:
    F1
    var IndexLoaded = _root.getBytesLoaded();
    var total = _root.getBytesTotal();
    var percent = int(IndexLoaded/total*100);
    var loadingName = "Loading.. " + percent + "%" + " of " + "Index";
    var checkFrameplay = 0;
    Bar_anime.gotoAndStop(percent);
    Loadtext_txt.text = loadingName;
    if (IndexLoaded == total) {

    F3
    var movie:MovieClip = _root.StoredActions.Con.createEmptyMovieClip("movie"+n,n +1);
    loadMovie(n+".swf",_root.StoredActions.Con["movie"+n]);
    var MovieLoaded = 0;
    percent = 0;
    _root.StoredActions.Con["movie"+n]._x = 3000;
    F4
    MovieLoaded = _root.StoredActions.Con["movie"+n].getBytesLoaded();
    loadTotal = _root.StoredActions.Con["movie"+n].getBytesTotal();

                    _root.gotoAndPlay("Playmovie");
    F7

    hi,
    i understand what you are saying about the code, im no advance user of as2 but i can say from all the research i have done, iv not seen anyone using this sort of code, its all over the place.
    but on the other hand, even though its a mess, its working and all the site functions and buttons work well with the code.
    basically the main.swf is the structure of the site, it has all the images/frames in the right places.  the other swfs load into a little window on the main.swf.  this window has some shading/reflections on it and the problem i have is when i scroll the movieclips, they scroll over the shading/reflections making it look tacky, if i didnt use any scrolling it would be fine but i need to use it due to having a small window.
    the content of the window is controlled by a button thats on the main.swf.
    each of the loaded swfs have dynamic text, movieclips, buttons to open external html windows.  nothing advance to be honest, all the interactive movieclips are controlled by clicking on them, navigating to another frame (using labels).
    i would upload the files for you to have a look but im under strict ruling that i cant share the content as its not yet been released to the public.
    i hope that helps clear a few things up for you.  if i cant get the levels to work then i guess it will have to stay like that or i will have to scrap the whole project and start again.

  • Help on  Setting logical Levels  in Fact tables and on Dimension tables

    Hi all
    Can any body provide any blogs or any king of material on what exactly is levelling .
    Like after creating the Dimensional hierarchies we need to set the logical levels for the LTS of fact tabels ri8 .So what is the difference between setting logical levels to fact tabels and also Setting levelling on Dimension tables .
    Any kind of help is appreciated
    Thanks

    I have read these blogs ,but what my question is
    Setting the logical levels in LTS of Fact tables i understood .
    But we can also set the logical levels for dimensions also ri8 .I didn't understand why do we set the logical levels for dimensions .Is there any reason why we go with the levelling at dimensions
    Thanks

  • Setting the record straight for setting recording levels in Logic

    Hey everyone,
    I asked a similar question a while back and got some great feedback, but I'm still a little confused about how to set a perfect recording level and work with the fader in Logic. A lot of what I've been doing has been trial and error and I would like to ask a few more specific questions:
    I record with a MOTU traveler and have recently, for example, been recording direct with my guitar into the MOTU inputs. I am using "pre-fader metering", which is checked, and I using "software monitoring", which is also checked. When I am watching the fader, what should I be looking for? I always have the fader set at 0.0db. How do I set the perfect level in this situation? Should the fader be hitting red as I record? How do I make sure I don't clip, and what should I be watching for overall? AND, is it all the same process when recording with microphones? I've heard Logic records at a low level with MOTU products, but what exaclty does this mean in terms of setting levels and watching the fader as I record? I have been recording a lot lately and have some good sounding tracks and some that are not so great and I think it has a lot to do with the topic of this post.
    Thanks for the help and clarification.

    the fader position in logic does nothing to affect the recording level. That is totally dependent on the gain setting on your MOTU. The logic fader merely allows you to adjust the level at which you listen to the material you are recording. If you set the gain correctly on your MOTU then you shouldn't see the logic audio object hit the red unless your logic fader is set higher than 0dB. If your logic fader is at 0, and you still see red, then your gain is set too high. Remember, digital distortion is not like analog distortion. Once you have recorded the signal and you are in playback mode, then things change somewhat. The internal headroom of logic allows individual channels to hit the red without causing audible distortion. You should definitely avoid hitting the red on your audio output objects though.
    I haven't heard about low levels with MOTU stuff. My own 896 has three settings on the inputs - mic, line and fixed +4dB. If you have variable gain as well, then you should be able to get healthy gain. If your recording level is very low, then recording at 24bit will help a lot towards a more detailed recording, as 16 bit can get grainy if the recorded levels are low.

  • Setting isolation level to 2.

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to use Isolation level 2 for "read committed" isolation.
    all I can find is how to set level 3 isolation (by calling setTxnSerializableIsolation(true)).
    Thanks for your help.
    ~aviron

    Hi Aviron,
    The isolation degrees are discussed in the TXN GSG guide here (chapter 4. Concurrency, Isolation):
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/TransactionGettingStarted/BerkeleyDB-JE-Txn.pdf
    For configuring committed reads (degree 2 isolation), you can do one of the following:
    - create your transaction (txn) so that it allows committed reads, by specifying true for the TransactionConfig.setReadCommitted() call;
    - specify true on the CursorConfig.setReadCommitted() call;
    - specify LockMode.READ_COMMITTED to configure degree 2 isolation on a read-by-read basis.
    Regards,
    Andrei
